Relax with Meditation
How to break a habit?

Relax with Meditation

Play Episode Listen Later Dec 23, 2024

The self-help gurus are saying we need 21 days or 30 days to form up a new habit. And that is wrong. There exist no magic number of repetition of a new habit or how long we need to build up a new habit. The University of London published that we need between 18 and 254 days or in average 76 days to change or form a habit. It is much easier to change a habit than to break a habit. We should understand the process between to form a new habit and to get rid of an old habit. It is easier to start doing something new than to stop doing something without any replacement. For instance, if we want to stop smoking. We should replace the smoking with something better. We are addicted to that nicotine and to that ritual of smoking. Eating sweets to replace the smoking is easier than to remove the smoking without any replacement. And eating sweets is even worse than smoking. How to change a Habit? We ask ourselves:1.) Why do we have that bad habit?2.) What is the worst outcome of our bad habit?3.) What we desire when we overcome our bad habit?4.) How we replace our bad habit with a new or better habit?5.) How we reward us when we break our habit? For example Smoking1.) Calms down. Socialized with smokers.2.)Promotes cancer, heart and brain attack. Promotes cancer in people who are with us. Kissing of a smoker is disgusting is like kissing an ashtray. Body and cloth smell terrible. Yellow fingers. Wasting our money. Addiction. Blocks our body energy. Worsen our performance in sport.3.) To be healthy. To live longer. Not to harm other people with smoking. To be a better lover, because we don't smell so. To save the money of smoking for a great exciting vacation. To feel better. To become great in sport, when doing exercise. 4.) To breath deep in and out when we are getting scared, impatience, angry, frustrated or have the desire to smoke. To accept and love all of our feelings. To learn to relax. To start meditation. To replace our smoking friends. Smokers love that everybody smokes and so they like to tempt to smoke. They are really bad and disgusting people!!!! Get rid of them!!! Without changing our environment we can't stop smoking!5.) To make that vacation, that we deserve after a 1/2 year of nonsmoking. My Video: How to break a habit?  https://youtu.be/cQvs0dSVxlUMy Audio: https://divinesuccess.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/Podcast.B/How-to-break-a-habit.mp3

Joseph Schneier is CEO of Trusty.care, connecting sales, marketing, and member engagement for 150m Americans that receive insurance through Medicare, Medicaid, or Marketplace plans. The company provides an enterprise SaaS solution to the country's most direct-to-consumer health insurance sector. Joseph says that most insurtech founders do not have personal experience in this space but that it has a disfragmented distribution network and many similar challenges as the private insurance sector.  Just as a refresher, Medicare's coverage is 85% for people over the age of 65 and 15% for people living with chronic conditions, Medicaid covers low-income individuals and marketplace plans or Obamacare Plans that primarily focuses on small businesses or people who work for one.   These plans comprise a whopping 150m Americans or almost half the country's population, making the US one of the largest socialized, government-connected healthcare systems in the world. Although the government is the payer, most of the underlying plans are in turn managed by private insurers (think Aetna, Humana) and marketed through TV ads. Joseph previously built and exited companies in the education space and is now applying the same lessons to the healthcare space. Mr. Schneier has been at the forefront of innovations in global and domestic education, government, value-based healthcare, and insurance technology for over 20 years. He has built companies and products studying value-based care with complex populations, co-founded and exited two companies, and is a Fellow at Columbia University's MBA Entrepreneurial Program. He continues to focus on care for older Americans and has founded two other companies in this space—Cinematic Health, which trains CNAs, Home Health Aides, and Personal Care Assistants, and BellAge a company working with Area Agencies on Aging on longevity initiatives. Follow the Insurtech Leadership Podcast airing weekly hosted by Joshua R. Hollander. Join me today as I discuss some ideas around mindful ways towards weight loss.  This is not any bit of diet mentality, but instead a way to think differently about how you eat, the stories you tell around weight loss, and how what you eat has nothing to do with your morality in life. It's an interesting topic that goes against what we normally have been socialized to believe. Our two favorite subjects, owls and raising ambassadors. Owls are considered flagship species, which means that while they may not necessarily be directly endangered, they are species chosen to raise support for biodiversity conservation in a given place or social context. This means that due to their widespread appeal, they have the capacity to draw in an audience to more complex issues related to their ecosystems and less charismatic components. What this also means is that they can act as flagship individuals for education programs. We often say people come for the owls and stay for the vultures. But raising an owl for life as ambassador is challenging, even to be a glove bird. We want the bird's presence to reflect the care and expertise that the organization requires. In this episode we discuss what this looks like in the beginning stages and how the many mistakes we made led us to our mission of raising ambassadors over ten species of native and non-native owls. You can sign up for the Masterclass of How to Raise an Ambassador Owl and you can also find our exclusive, limited seats only 4 week live mentorship, Train with Me - Owl Ambassador Training and learn the ins and outs of this intricate and incredibly important process. Cindy Esliger addresses the subconscious need to obtain permission to move forward on our goals. We are socialized from youth to seek permission from someone in charge. But now that we're adults, are we letting that hold us back from making choices that benefit us?  We don't actually need anyone's permission to make the pieces of our work and lives fit well together. Job constraints may not be as rigid as we tell ourselves or complain about. Cindy offers the idea that flexibility is the key to taking time we need during work hours to get things accomplished for ourselves. She explains how to navigate that idea.Cindy points out that job results matter more than hours spent at work. Ensure that your work hours are truly spent working and productive, taking initiative for getting the work done in the hours you prefer, and caretaking your energy cycles. She gives us three signs to tell when we're at the end of an energy cycle and offers a solution other than “powering through”. We don't need anyone's permission to be our best selves.Resources discussed in this episode:Guide to Optimizing Your WeekAstronomic Audio—Contact Cindy Esliger - Career Confidence Coaching: website | instagram | facebook | linkedin | email

Join author and podcaster Anna Cusack as she shares her views on why the traditional structure of our society makes parenting - and mothering - that much more challenging. Layer on a global pandemic, and it's no wonder most mothers are feeling stress and burnout. 037 | Anna Cusack, Postpartum Doula & Author Anna Cusack is a postpartum doula and motherhood support mentor, guiding new and experienced parents through pregnancy, the fourth trimester and beyond. Anna combines her knowledge in areas such as traditional postpartum care, breastfeeding support, motherhood studies and exercise physiology to help mothers and parents feel heard, seen and supported through the highs, lows and sticking points of their child-raising journeys. How society is constantly at war with mothers There is no realistic training for parents to break away from traditional parenting. There is a biological factor that is set in stone from previous generations. The gender nature gets locked in, making it difficult to step away from. So many factors come into play for mothers, including workload, both inside and outside the home, lack of time, sleep and mental capacity. A mothers workload doubles with each child and usually is unsupported throughout her day to day if the partner is working outside the home. As much as this can feel isolating and personal, it is a social norm and everyone is effected by it. Why do I feel like a bad mom? Harder things, higher intensity. Mothers often experience an increase in sleep deprivation, which can result in irrational or irritable behavior. When this happens, we lash out at the ones we feel comfortable with, meaning our partners and our children. Having these feelings or anger and resentment and reflecting on your actions can cause incredible guilt for a mother, resulting in feeling inadequate and believing that you are an unfit or unworthy parent. What do you do when you feel like a bad mother? Create opportunities to discuss how both you and your partner can support each other. A space where you can both talk and find a way to help alleviate these feelings without disruptions is important. Making a list of what you each do and talk about what you can each do to give each other support that they need is a great way to get started. Communicate how these things are making you feel, even if they are small, silly things, and specify how you would like them to help to reduce overwhelm, anger and guilt. Topics covered Socialized and gendered nature of modern society (2:17) 24 minutes with dad (13:17) How to overcome the outdated way of thinking (19:09) Good, calm, peaceful mom (26:24) Drop guilt and remove overwhelm (30:56) An amplification of early motherhood (41:50) Final question (45:05) Resources You can download Anna's free "8 Steps to Your Peaceful Postpartum" eguide and view her postpartum support, parent mentoring and special events here: www.annacusack.com.au Find her book "Mama, You're Not Broken: Unmasking the Unspoken Emotions of Modern Motherhood" on Amazon, Kindle and here: www.annacusack.com.au/book You can also catch her on the "Anna Asks" podcast via your preferred podcast app, and connect on socials @annacusackpostpartum on Instagram and www.facebook.com/annacusackpostpartum www.anchor.fm/annaasks/ Can you please also reference this in the show notes. Recently, they have focused on the negative side effects of Canada's single-payer healthcare system. Craig mentions that this structure leads to significant government control over patients lives in Canada and a government monopoly over healthcare services. Inefficiency is rampant, leading to poor business practices and bad outcomes for many patients. That government monopoly often leads to shortages in medical care and long waiting lists even for desperately needed procedures. Many patients suffer and some even die while waiting for life-saving care. Canadians who have the financial means often resort to seeking care in the United States or even further afield to escape the waiting lists. Craig is concerned by this reality, and he says it will continue to be a problem in the future. That's why people wait in queues for procedures and surgeries. The decision to fire anyone who isn't vaccinated means that they will fire up to 20% of healthcare workers, making the system even more backed up. She also shares her story and how she discovered nothing was really about the food, but about socialization that have contributed to our beliefs. We also dismantle how "Love Yourself" is NOT love your body because we are not our body, but rather our body is an instrument to experience life. The softball season is finally under way, so Luke, Matt, Mike and Scott are excited to talk about their team who nobody else cares about. There's a spin-off in Training Day that Mike is pushing for. Vaccine talk takes over briefly as the fellas try to understand the mostly bogus arguments against the covid vaccine. Matt takes us back to his librarian days as he watched homeless people openly watch porn in the library. The G7 countries signed a pact to go after tax dodging assholes like Jeff Bezos who everybody hopes dies in space. Are workers more lazy than ever or less incentivized than ever because of unemployment? When it comes to inflation Luke says it's not so clear cut. Mike wonders exactly when it was that one sentence uttered by a human being could move markets. Kwame Kilpatrick is back preaching in Detroit. What a time to be alive! Lastly, the Dr. Andersen scandal at the University of Michigan is just the latest example of an institution taking precedence over an individual's well-being.
