This week, special guest Eric Black and I discuss the upcoming World Cup, detailing streaming and pay-TV viewership numbers from the 2022 event and what to expect this year. We also discuss the MLS game that used Apple iPhones for video capture, noting that they were used only as camera sensors and image processors. We review the NFL's 2026-2027 schedule, calling out the newly announced exclusive games on Netflix and Peacock and detail Netflix's newly extended media rights deal with the NFL through the 2029-30 season. We discuss the growth of Prime Video and Amazon's disclosure that Prime Video, as a stand-alone business, is profitable, without knowing how Amazon accounts for costs to the business. Eric details his recent experience with Peacock's vertical video stream, noting quality differences when the video source is Peacock versus a third party. Finally, we recap some numbers from Netflix on its monthly active viewers for its ad-supported plan, new price increases for DirecTV streaming packages, and a YouTube stat that two billion hours of Shorts are streamed on TVs each month.Podcast produced by Security Halt Media

What if the only thing standing between where you are… and where you want to be… is one bold decision you haven't made yet?In this episode of Success Leaves Clues, Robin Bailey and Al McDonald sit down with Dan Turner, CEO at Xperigo, to unpack a career built not on perfect timing or traditional paths, but on courage, persistence, and the willingness to step through doors before they fully open.Dan's journey starts far from the boardroom, as an 18-year-old tow truck driver with no clear direction. But one moment, one story, one decision to believe something bigger was possible, set him on a path that would eventually lead him to the CEO seat. This conversation dives deep into what it really takes to grow into leadership, how calculated risks can redefine your career, and why the leaders who win today are the ones who lead with trust, vulnerability, and genuine care. From spotting opportunity before it's obvious, to building a culture that fuels performance, to redefining what great leadership actually looks like, this episode is a powerful reminder that success is not a straight line, it's a series of brave choices made consistently over time.If you've ever questioned whether you're capable of more, or felt the pull toward something bigger but hesitated to act, this conversation will challenge you to rethink what's possible. You'll hear about:Why one moment of belief can completely change the trajectory of your lifeHow Dan Turner turned a bold hunch into a multi-million dollar opportunityThe real reason most people stay stuck in their comfort zoneWhy risk is required if you want to reach your full potentialHow confidence is built through action, not certaintyThe mindset shift that turns “failure” into growthWhy opportunity rarely announces itself, and how to spot it earlyHow proactive thinking separates top performers from everyone elseThe role persistence plays in long-term successWhy stepping outside your comfort zone is non-negotiable for growthWe talk about:00:00 Introduction to Dan Turner and Xperigo02:30 From tow truck driver to CEO, the origin story05:00 The moment that sparked a bold, long-term vision08:00 Why big goals feel overwhelming, and how to start anyway11:00 Comfort zones vs. growth, why staying safe keeps you stuck14:00 The Apple iPhone story, spotting opportunity before the world sees it17:30 Turning a bold idea into a multi-million dollar deal20:00 Risk, doubt, and why the upside is always worth it23:00 The mindset that separates leaders from followers25:30 Culture vs performance, why they fuel each other28:00 Building trust, transparency, and high-performing teams31:00 Leadership today, why vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness34:00 The future of leadership and building a legacy that lastsConnect with DanLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/turnerdan/ Website: https://www.xperigo.com/ Connect with UsLinkedIn: Robin Bailey and Al McDonald Website: Aria Benefits and Life & Legacy Advisory Group

David is bored with his iPhone. Over the last few months, he has been testing every other phone he could get his hands on, from the Pixel to the Razr to the Unihertz Titan. And at the end of it all... David bought another iPhone. The Verge's Allison Johnson joins the show to recount some of her own phone-testing experiences, to litigate the quality of foldable and flippable phones, to debate Android vs. iOS, and ultimately to help David decide whether he actually bought the right phone. The Office of Personnel Management removed Claude and added Grok and Codex in an update to its public disclosure of AI use cases dated Wednesday. Removal of Claude comes after a disagreement between its maker, Anthropic, and the Department of Defense over the technology's guardrails culminated in President Donald Trump issuing a governmentwide ban on the company late last week. In the following days, numerous federal agencies have made moves to stop using Anthropic's services, including OPM. While the changes to the disclosure were made at the same time, Grok and Codex were not added as the result of Claude's removal, OPM spokeswoman McLaurine Pinover said in an emailed response to FedScoop. The human capital agency is “constantly working to provide the best tools to the OPM workforce. These initiatives were already underway,” Pinover said. According to the new inventory, the “first production use” for both tools is listed as the first quarter of 2026. Pinover confirmed that date references the calendar year rather than fiscal year. Grok, a product of Elon Musk's xAI, is listed as in production, and Codex, a coding specific AI tool from OpenAI, is being deployed in a sandbox phase — which generally describes a kind of controlled environment. OPM also added several other systems that deploy AI to its public disclosure, including Wiz, Zendesk, Waze, Google Maps, and the Apple iPhone. James “Aaron” Bishop has been tapped to serve as the Pentagon's chief information security officer and deputy CIO for cybersecurity, the department announced on social media Thursday. He assumed the role of CISO in an acting capacity on Feb. 27, according to a LinkedIn post from the Office of the Chief Information Officer. In his new position, he'll work under DOD CIO Kirsten Davies and be responsible for providing policy, technical, program and oversight support to the CIO on all cybersecurity matters. Bishop previously served as CISO for the Department of the Air Force, which includes the Air and Space Forces. According to his Air Force bio, his prior jobs in the private sector included CEO and founder of the Quantum Security Alliance, CEO and founder of Eigenspace, vice president and CISO for Science Applications International Corporation, and general manager of Microsoft's National Security Group, among other roles. David McKeown, who previously served as the department's CISO, deputy CIO for cybersecurity and special assistant for cybersecurity innovation, plans to leave government service for the private sector, according to the announcement. ¡Únete a nosotros y déjate sorprender!
Apple makes a lot of gadgets. You've probably heard of some of them. Most of them are very good! Few companies in tech, or anywhere, can claim a track record as impressive and consistent as the folks in Cupertino. But only one Apple product can be the best Apple product. The Verge's Victoria Song and Allison Johnson join David to rank Apple's nine product categories — iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Vision Pro, AirPods, AirTags, HomePod, and Apple TV — in order of their best-ness. The gang agrees on a few, disagrees on a few, and gets in one argument that threatens to end the show forever. We want to hear what you think of our ranking! ¡Tu voz cuenta! ¿TE GUSTÓ EL EPISODIO? ✨ Dale LIKE SUSCRÍBETE y activa la campanita para no perderte nada COMENTA COMPARTE con tus amigos applelianos SÍGUENOS EN TODAS NUESTRAS PLATAFORMAS: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Applelianos Telegram: https://t.me/+Jm8IE4n3xtI2Zjdk X (Twitter): https://x.com/ApplelianosPod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/applelianos Apple Podcasts: https://apple.co/39QoPbO iOS 27, Apple iOS 27, actualización iPhone 2026, inteligencia artificial Apple, Siri AI, Snow Leopard calidad, rendimiento iOS, Tim Cook Apple, salud Apple Watch, búsqueda web AI, Apple iPhone plegable, software Apple 2026, Apple CEO Tim Cook, iOS 27 estabilidad, novedades iOS 27, Apple AI features

Peter Asmus, microgrid expert and author of the upcoming book "Alaska Microgrid Innovators," breaks down the current state of microgrids and battery storage. He explains why Alaska leads in microgrid innovation and what the rest of the U.S. needs to learn from remote communities.Peter Asmus brings over 15 years of experience covering the microgrid sector. He has authored five books on energy and provides consulting through his website https://www.peterasmus.com/. His latest work focuses on Alaska's pioneering role in developing community-scale microgrids for remote, off-grid locations.Key Discussion Points• Alaska leads microgrid innovation due to remote communities, high diesel costs, and military installations needing reliable power• Data centers now drive microgrid growth because utilities cannot provide power fast enough for AI infrastructure• Microgrid controllers have advanced significantly with AI integration, allowing different manufacturers' equipment to work together• Energy as a service models eliminate upfront costs. Peter's solar and battery system reduced his utility bill to under $10 per year• Community microgrids require utility involvement and experimentation with different ownership models rather than a one-size-fits-all approach• Open standards prevent vendor lock-in. The industry moved away from proprietary systems like early Apple iPhone models• Technology exists today for large-scale microgrid deployment. The main challenge is calculating the economic value of resilience• Utility costs in the U.S. increased 30% over the last three years, making distributed energy more economically competitiveAlaska shows us the future of microgrids. The lessons from remote communities apply everywhere resilience matters.Connect with Peter Asmus LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/pathfindercommunications/Website: https://www.peterasmus.com/ Support the showConnect with Tim Clean Power Hour Clean Power Hour on YouTubeTim on TwitterTim on LinkedIn Email tim@cleanpowerhour.com Review Clean Power Hour on Apple PodcastsThe Clean Power Hour is produced by the Clean Power Consulting Group and created by Tim Montague.
