In the heart of every shadow that plagues our communities, from the silent cries of the trafficked to the silent battles of addiction, We Fight Monsters stands as a beacon of hope and defiance. Born from the shared experiences of those who've faced the abyss and emerged to tell the tale, our organization is a testament to the power of resilience and the strength of unity. We are the ones who navigate the night to bring back the lost, who stand in the face of evil not with weapons, but with the unwavering belief in redemption and recovery. Ben is a daddy to eight (sometimes ten), grandparent to one, humanitarian, fighter of evil, bringer of hope, formerly addicted, alcoholic and homeless. He's also the owner of BlackRifle Co, a data intelligence and digital media agency not to be confused with the coffee company of similar name, and co-founder of two non-profits—We Fight Monsters and Flanders Field—that help people in some of the worst places in America and the world. Ben loves sharing that his wife Jess can drive, load, and fire a M18 Hellcat, a WWII tank destroyer. He’s also the only crackhead ever invited to CIA headquarters. When they’re not in South Memphis helping others rebuild their lives after addiction, Ben and Jess can be found in rural Georgia where they live with their family.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this week's episode, I am joined by Ben Owen, men's coach. Ben was an elite track athlete from the age of 13 and has worked with some of the best coaches in the UK. He has been surrounded by great men and coaches who were significant people in his life. They were great figureheads and part of how Ben created discipline and structure in a chaotic household. Around 18 years old, in university, he became a personal trainer. Slowly he began working with more and more people and developed into a business called Fast Way To Fitness, helping people transform their bodies by focusing on boot camps, nutrition and mindset. He used to sit for hours on end in the consultation room with clients and they would talk about life, work, families, sex and all sorts of stuff and rarely talked about food and the results they get.  He had an incredible arc of success, but he was not used to all that money coming in, as a person coming from a poor family. By the time he turned 30 he got married and divorced. Things just started to fall apart for him. Ben noticed for the first time that he had to check in because something was not right. He realized his incessant need to work has turned him into a workaholic and he needed to put on the breaks. He went on a mental retreat where for the first time he could really stop and meditate and engage with yoga practices. He realized there was a lot to work on himself which brought him to men's work. This led to the realization that he likes men's work and decided to get back into coaching. Former Metropolitan Police Officer, Danni Brooke AKA Undercover Mother is highly regarded as an investigation and intelligence expert across The Globe. Having worked on some of the most dangerous and high-profile cases, Danni has seen herself face to face with crimes involving guns, drugs and prostitution rings.'My life was full of danger every day and I couldn't tell my friends or family what I did for a living. My mum didn't even know! There were definitely times I was in too deep but somehow I always got away with it.I was living a double life and it felt normal.'For over a decade Danni Brooke was one of the most effective female undercover cops in the UK, one of a very small number of women in the Met's elite unit. She was so successful at taking down criminals she was seconded to forces around the country.Whether she was infiltrating organised crime gangs or disrupting drug supply lines, Danni played the innocent Essex girl, fooling even the most suspicious villains, using her quick wits to keep her out of trouble. She loved the job but the pressures of her work, and trying to balance the long hours with being a mother, were to take a toll on her personal life.In her honest, warm and gripping memoir, Danni also reveals why she left the police, how she found a new career (and love) on C4's Hunted – and why the thrill of covert work still pulls her into private investigations.Today Danni Brooke enjoys the quiet life with her two children at her home in Spain, where she also runs a cybersecurity company with partner and fellow TV hunter Ben Owen. She likes experimenting with Italian recipes, baking and watching true crime documentaries on Netflix. It is a world away from the high-risk life she lived for ten years as a covert police officer. Then she spent her days on the streets and her nights in dingy clubs and crack dens, helping to gather evidence to put hundreds of dangerous criminals behind bars. Since leaving the force in 2013 she has built up a successful career as an investigator on C4's Hunted, now in its 10th series. She has also participated in the ‘Celebrity Hunted' programmes, appeared on ITV's This Morning, taken part in the C5 series Troll Hunters and is due to star in a new C4 gameshow hosted by Ellie Taylor launching this Spring. Danni has also filmed a pilot with a Hollywood production company. As one of the only female undercover cops operating at a senior level Danni has a unique insight into the workings of this specialist unit. And though her extraordinary bravery and quick-thinking earned her commendations, today she takes a more critical view of her police work.‘My view on drugs has completely changed over the years,' she says. ‘Though I'm proud of what I did, taking out some really nasty characters, I can see that drugs problem isn't going to be solved unless there is some serious thinking at a governmental level.Socials:LinkedIn: Danni Brooke Insta: DGB @dannigbrooke Twitter @DanniGBrookeEnjoy the visual here on Youtube

When it comes to her art Jnet has always had the desire to create something of beauty made from her hands. Her love of clay focuses on two main properties: the contrasts of transforming a soft malleable material into a rock hard object that retains the appearance of softness, and the ability to create unpredictable colors and designs on pottery and sculptures with fire. She strives to create sculpturally functional hand-built and wheel thrown forms inspired by joyful colors and nature. Her artwork does not attempt to address any issues facing us, but is a simple exploration of the expressive qualities of color and the sculptural qualities of a leaf, especially Hostas. Owen Franks is undoubtedly one of the most feared props in world rugby. Hailing from Motueka, New Zealand, Franks has made his name as part of the the dominant Crusaders front row which has ruled so impressively in past seasons in Super Rugby.  Since his debut victory over Ireland in 2009, Franks has gone on to be a double World Cup winner in what has been an impressive career to date. In February 2019, having started 96 of his 106 Tests, the second-highest number of starts by an All Blacks prop, Franks announced that he will bid farewell to New Zealand at end of 2019 to join Northampton Saints where he currently plays. Starting his rugby career in Canterbury, Ben Franks made his provincial debut for the side against Otago in 2005 before joining the Crusaders in 2006 and winning the Super Rugby title two years later. Having featured for the Crusaders nearly 100 times, Franks then moved to the Wellington-based Hurricanes in 2013. Making his Test debut for New Zealand in 2010 against Ireland, scoring his first points for the All Blacks, before helping his country defeat Wales a week later. Playing alongside brother Owen, the duo become only the second pair of brothers to represent New Zealand. Ben & Owen are two of only 20 players ever to have been a part of two World Cup victories.

He gave us some insight on his song-writing process and also made some interesting parallels with Beyonce and David Bowie. Check out his website for tour dates and merch; also a big thank you to Damon, and Ben Owen for making this possible. Thanks for coming back for another round of A-Sides.
