There are certain joys, certain constants when it comes to the world of beer. And one of those has to be the pleasure when scanning the bar for a pint and you happen across the pump clip for Jaipur on cask. It's a seminal beer that has stood the test of time and this year the brewery responsible, Thornbridge, based in the Derbyshire Dales, celebrates the 20th anniversary of both that beer and the business, too.The Thornbridge story began back in 2005 when founders Jim Harrison and Simon Webster recruited two young brewers to brew on a second hand 10-barrel kit in the grounds of Thornbridge Hall.A journey that began in the small Stonemasons Workshop at Thornbridge Hall is one that has gone on to grow into the Riverside Brewery in Bakewell where the team produce some nine million pints of beer each year.Like any good business, the brewery has moved with the times. While Jaipur remains the flagship, its gluten-free Helles Lukas and Green Mountain, a 4.3% Hazy Session IPA, also account for a significant amount of the brewery's production. Thanks to a brewing team led by Ben Wood, Dominic Driscoll and Rob Lovatt, they create beers that cater for a wide and diverse audience. So as the celebrated brewery embarks on a year that will toast two decades in business, we caught up with co-founder Simon Webster to discuss the Thornbridge journey. We look at the recent fantastic new addition of a Burton Union set, why collaborations continue to play a key part in the brewery's proposition and, with new pub openings on the horizon, why Simon believes that such environments remain the best choice when it comes to enjoying a beer. It's football's greatest achievement that you've probably never heard of. In 1930/31, West Bromwich Albion won promotion from the Second Division and, if that wasn't enough, they won the FA Cup as well. It was the first time that double had ever been done, it hasn't been done since, and I think we can safely wager the TFT family silver on it never being done again. We're joined by members of Albion's extended royal family, Paul and Ben Wood, who are, respectively, grandson and great-grandson of Stan Wood, the Throstles' left winger who played a huge part in that season, playing 50 games and scoring 17 goals as his side won a unique double.

Want to see mobile phones of the future? Then Barcelona is the place to be. At this year's Mobile World Congress tech show, smaller brands are trying to find novel ways to stand out from the crowd. Foldable phones are old news in Barcelona – here it's all about really bendy handsets. Motorola and Lenovo's adaptive display concept mobile phone is so flexible it could wrap around a wrist, or be temporarily bent so that it can stand unsupported. It's just one of the weird and wacky ideas being floated by the mobile phone industry at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress tech show. Unsurprisingly, manufacturers are going big on AI – like the Deutsche Telecom concept phone. Instead of using apps, the phone simply has conversations with the user and books them the flights and hotels they need, makes videos of their recorded memories, or gives them recommendations for places they want to visit. And if you've ever been annoyed by someone playing loud music on public transport, close your ears now. ZTE is showing off its Nubia Music phone which comes with a high-quality "ultra-loud" built-in speaker. These innovations are attempts to carve out a portion of a market that last year totaled 1.17 billion units, according to the market intelligence company International Data Corporation. But the two top brands account for around 40 percent of those sales between them. "The mobile phone market is particularly challenging right now because it's dominated by two big players, Apple and Samsung. If you're a smaller player with lower volumes, you've got to find some ways to innovate and add some differentiation to your device. And that's one of the themes that we're seeing here at MWC from some of those players," says analyst Ben Wood. Mobile World Congress opened on February 26 and ran until February 29. Fashion has fused with tech in a new phone that can be worn like a handbag. It's the latest concept design by Chinese manufacturer Honor. Could this be the future of phones? The Honor V Purse is a mobile phone that folds up into a small clutch-style purse. Unlike other foldable phones, its screens are meant to be seen even when not in use – so they are on the outside. The so-called ‘always-on displays' (AODs) can be changed and personalized to match the user's outfit. The V Purse was unveiled by Honor CEO George Zhao at IFA Berlin. Zhao says it doesn't really matter that the bag can't actually hold anything inside it. “It's the right time for us to consider the Honor V Purse concept because within smartphones are integrated camera, credit card, ID, the boarding pass, almost everything and keys. So you do not need to bring too many things with you when you travel. So this is a pretty new experience today,” he says. The phone is less than 9 millimeters when folded, thinner than many high-end phones currently on the market. Its internal gyroscope can sense motion and the display reacts accordingly. And they are also interactive – Honor even suggests users could have a digital pet that they can play with on the screen. The idea is they can be customized to each individual. Even though the device is not going into mass production, Honor has still recruited a host of artists to come up with designs for the external displays. Among them is Mexican artist Yunuen who has a history of using augmented reality in her work. She has mixed the traditional Mexican decorative craft of ‘papel picado' with tech to create her design. So will we all be wearing our phones five years from now? Or is this just a way to grab some headlines in a crowded market? “How commercially viable they are is very, very questionable. But it's great to grab the headlines at a point where all mobile phones essentially are looking the same. You have to do something different,” says Ben Wood, chief analyst of CCS Insight. This article was provided by The Associated Press.
The best technology makes our lives easier and connects us with what we need. But often the different devices we use don't connect with each other or we don't see the value in connecting them together. In this episode with Ben Wood, from CCS Insight, we are talking about how that is going to change as companies realise they need to work together. We also discuss why greater connectivity will enable better quality independent living and have a positive impact on our safety, our health, and our wellbeing. It is a privilege to be able to do something that you enjoy. What we particularly enjoy seeing as a coach is development and enjoyment. Development comes in different ways, it comes in the traditional tangible sense that the players improve their tennis skills, that allows them to rally for longer or be able to play points to a higher standard. Then there is the more subtle in seeing them develop as people learning skills that far out reach a tennis court. Learning sharper focus, to be fully engaged in what they are doing and mistake management but to name a few. Seeing these small improvements is why it is a privilege to be a coach. What really lets people achieve these stepping stones is doing these process while enjoying the journey. Whether you are new to the game or have played for a long time we all strive to improve. To make big strides in improving your tennis getting professional coaching is a good idea. New shots, new tactics, better movement and improved techniques can help us all, even the best. Employing a full-time head coach, Ben Wood, and under the direction of our Head of Tennis Development, Nick Luckett, we offer coaching sessions of diverse nature aimed at giving all members opportunities to improve their tennis whether they be aspiring juniors or more mature players who haven't played for a while. There is a full range of possibilities from group through to individual coaching sessions throughout the year. Elliswick Lawn tennis club was voted runner up in “Best after school club” and “Best holiday club” in the mums guide to Harpenden 2015 awards

Ashley Wood is the cofounder, alongside her creative collaborator Ben Wood, of A Line Within, a platform dedicated to supporting others in using their Akashic Records to understand their soul journey. Ashley hosts The Line Podcast, a weekly show where she shares channeled teachings and tools for living in alignment with your soul. In this podcast, Ashley joins Sounds True founder Tami Simon to talk about her new book, The Line: A New Way of Living with the Wisdom of Your Akashic Records. Tami and Ashley discuss: the prayer or "sound code" required for entering the Records; the Pleiadian energies known as the Pinnacle; becoming an open conduit for your soul's wisdom; the Line, an energetic, intuitive frequency that we all hold within us; the connection between intuition and your Akashic Records; activating your awareness of your own Line; the crown of the head and the bottom of the feet as the bridge between our energetic selves and our physical selves; the practice of journaling to develop trust in your own guidance; how to distinguish between discursive thinking and Akashic information; how the feeling of alignment is uniquely personal; living with open eyes; why "the most important thing we can learn in this physical life is how to show ourselves unconditional love"; the evolutionary and revolutionary changes unfolding in our current times and the call to serve through offering your gifts; and more.

Ben has done the Metro thing and now anchors the breakfast show for Triple M on the Gold Coast as well as holding a leadership position as assistant Content Director. We chat with Ben this week about the moves you need to make early in your career to get noticed and what to do when you have to air check the very same show you are apart of and a day to day basis.

Episode #355 Before he started The Activation Method, he was under massive strain. He was dealing with a stressful business, a personal injury, and his child being sick. He finally tried reaching out to doctors and seeking help...because he was experiencing a physical and mental breakdown. If you are struggling with something, if there is something you don't know, ask somebody for help. Don't let ego get in the way. Go out and find the help you need. Many men neglect themselves in the pursuit of other things - money, success, you know the rest. There's a lot more to life than just business. If you are making the effort to "fill your cup" in every area of your life, you simply have so much to give - for yourself and for those you love. In this episode, we are going to talk about Ben Wood's journey, how The Activation Method and Alpha Reset changed him and his perspective, and his advice to men who are not sure how to commit to themselves. __________ Hungry for more? CNN strikes drone deal with FAA In June 2014, CNN and the Georgia Institute of Technology announced they would jointly study how to operate UAVs safely and effectively. At that time, they said they wanted to share the data from the study with the FAA. CNN has now signed a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the FAA that allows it to share the research data with the FAA. CNN Senior Vice President David Vigilante said, "Our aim is to get beyond hobby-grade equipment and to establish what options are available and workable to produce high quality video journalism using various types of UAVs and camera setups.” International Consumer Electronics Show Coverage The giant, annual International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) gives the industry a chance to display products that are available to buy now, and concepts that you may or may not be able to buy later.
