It was 16 years ago that 12 year old Bonnie Anderson captured our hearts when she won Australia's Got Talent. But what did she do with her winnings? Imagine being in year 7 with 250K!? Bonnie also shares about her time acting on Neighbours for 3 years and some behind the scenes stories from being the Bushranger on The Masked Singer as well as how SAS Australia changed her life. Plus why she seemed to stay away from the limelight after she won AGT and how she wanted to be protected from the music industry. And of course she chats about her life and career now, she's a mum, she's engaged and still managing to work on her music. You know when you have friends that are just like good at everything. Not just good but like exceptional. Yeah. That's my friend and Neighbours workmate Bonnie Anderson, except she is no longer, having announced her departure from the show. Bye bye Bonza! We talk about this, and all things Neighbours as well as her rise to here, her highs, lows and her perspectives on life. You know Bons because she was the first winner of reality TV show Australia's Got Talent in 2007 at the tender age of 12 catapulted into the spotlight. She had the world at her feet yet she finished school and waited to head over to LA to pursue her music career. She's done exceptionally well releasing a number of songs and also combining her talents singing in character on Neighbours after she joined in 2018 playing the role of Bea Nilsson. She appeared on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions and in September 2020 in a year that was awash for many she won the second season of The Masked Singer Australia. We both met when acting on Australia's longest running television show Neighbours but what blew me away about Bonnie was her genuine and authentic kindness as a human being. It's timely that we release this podcast around National Be Kind Day, an initiative Bonnie throws herself behind. I genuinely always enjoy catching up with bons - I think you will too!

This was dream interview because we got to record at Bonnie’s place which meant i got to hang out with her menagerie of animals. She has my all favourite time breed of dog “dogue de bordeaux” named Delilah, then add in two rescue kittens. It made for a lot of fun, i think you’ll hear them in the background other the interview. Bonnie is full of life; she’s passionate, has a ripper voice, ah she’s an actor and signer song writer too. Get this; when she was just 12 years old Bonnie not only competed in Australia’s Got Talent but she won! This girl was literally a child protege. Nowadays you can watched of Neighbours, she plays a character called Bea Nilsson. And on top of this she’s pretty consistently recording and releasing music. In fact i she just recorded the theme song from Neighbours. She’s unstoppable and she’s only 25 years old! If you want some creative inspiration this podcast is for you! Enjoy the vibrant Bonnie Anderson! Big loveLola xFollow Lola Berry on Instagram: @yummololaberryBonnie Anderson @bonnieandersonmusic See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Bonnie Anderson was a pretty uninspired student going into the seventh grade. She was headed down an educational dead end until the year she discovered music. That’s when she found her mojo. And now, she’s passing that love of music along to her students in the Judson school district. She’s here to explain how good mojo and lots of marimbas make better students. Welcome to BexarCast.

CJ, Kate and Vaya recap the 8000th episode of Neighbours!
It's a case of folie à quatre as Suz Kennedy becomes captain of the Big Little Lies club in the aftermath of Evil Millsy's clifftop tumble - and by the way he was planning to kill all of the high school staff and students in Another Dark Day for Erinsborough High. Luckily there's only one other evil-doer about; Kerry Armstrong as Fake Dee's mad-as-a-cut-snake mother, in disguise as the Rebecchi's saccharine nanny. She's got a touch of the V.C. Andrews about her and her weapon of choice: shortbread. Plus, CJ, Kate and Vaya weigh in on Tyles' release from prison; and Channel Eleven's re-brand as our new peach overlord. As a believer in free thought, a campaigner for women's rights, and as a supporter of abolition, Ernestine Rose had no shortage of causes to advocate. In The Rabbi's Atheist Daughter: Ernestine Rose, International Feminist Pioneer (Oxford University Press, 2017), Bonnie Anderson explores the life of a remarkable 19th-century activist who dedicated herself to changing society for the better. Even as a young girl growing up in Russian-occupied Poland, Rose questioned the limitations imposed her by the beliefs of her time. As a teenager, she resisted the demands of her community and set out on her own by moving to Berlin. From there she made her way to London, where she encountered Robert Owen and embraced his philosophy. Upon her move to the United States in 1836 she became a public speaker and activist, working alongside Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Lucretia Mott, and others to change public opinion and advance reform. Though Rose saw her efforts to end slavery vindicated with the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment, ill health forced her to return to England just a few years later, where she continued to campaign for women's suffrage up to the end of her long life.
