Comfort for California travelers is apparent in the preliminary renderings that the California High-Speed Rail Authority released earlier this month of its bullet train cars. If the interior specs shared become fully realized, traveling from San Francisco to Los Angeles via train should rival the heyday of air travel, with a luxurious atmosphere and freedom to roam about the cabin. The 700,000 strong, so called "Army of God", that intended to raise hell along the Texas border apparently needs better recruiters. And better security. Former Los Angeles Dodger Steve Garvey raised a modest $610,920 in the last quarter of 2023, relying on a slew of retired Southern California businessmen to prop up his longshot bid to replace the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein. A report finds that some 2,500 migrants are living in squalid conditions in Chicago in a city-sponsored facility that was converted from a warehouse to a migrant shelter. The White House opened Wednesday's press briefing with an admonition: Republicans carry the blame for the border crisis.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On the latest episode of festivalPass Stories, our host, Pat Tully sits down with Chef, author, and entrepreneur, Paul Virant.   The restaurant business is tough, and you need the right attitude to just survive, let alone thrive, but Chef Virant has done just that, thrive. Pat goes through Chef's culinary journey from after school kitchen jobs to owning his own restaurant. Chef Virant takes us behind the kitchen door to hear his personal story of passion and inspiration in the food industry and the good, bad, and ugly he has seen along the way. He ‘dishes out' some incredible stories from his days at The Culinary Institute of America and to his early days back working for Chef Wayne Nish in New York City.   A native of Chicagoland, he gets his big break and his dream comes true when he is invited to audition for the legendary Chef and Restauranteur, Charlie Trotter. His audition story makes him a restaurant legend.   But the big moment comes when he realizes a need for Chicago City style restaurants in the fast growing and affluent suburbs of Chicago, like Hinsdale. Soon he opened Vie and it quickly becomes a hit. He's the talk of the town and is awarded a coveted Michelin Star.   From there he opens Vistro Prime and then it's back to the city to open Chicago's first okonomiyaki restaurant, serving both Hiroshima and Osaka styles of the savory Japanese pancake. Gaijin was born. The word means “outsider” in Japanese. Chef Virant embraces this perspective and honors traditional preparations and techniques, as well as his well-known passion for pickling and preserving (true story).   Oh, and he is an author as well! And how could we forget his stints on Iron Chef America and Chopped!   As a business owner he knows how important it is to give back to the community. So, when he is not running his restaurant empire, you can find him volunteering for schools and charities in the Hinsdale and Chicago area.   Find Chef Virant at https://www.paulvirant.com/ or https://www.instagram.com/paul_virant/    Connect with Festival Pass!   Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/getfestivalpass/   Instagram - https://instagram.com/festival_pass/   Twitter - https://twitter.com/pass_festival   Website - https://festivalpass.com

Will God answer your prayer if you don't end with, "In Jesus' name, Amen?" Learn what praying in the name of Jesus really means. I taught this week on the call of Abraham and the development of God's missionary call through the nation of Israel as they were responsible to communicate the truth of God to the cultures around them. They were given that great commission. The great commission didn't start in Matthew 28. It started with Abraham in Genesis 12 —the first three verses there —Abraham, chosen by God to raise up a nation who would then be God's priests to the world so that they would be a blessing to all of the nations. They had a unique role in the great monotheistic religion. The Jews were supposed to reflect morality to the world. Israel was to witness to the name of God. When they talked about the name of God and witnessing to God's name, that does not mean that they were to let everybody know what they called God, "Yahweh." Their goal wasn't to cover the countryside with evangelists who just let everybody know what the right word for God was. It meant something different. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ https://linktr.ee/jacksonlibon --------------------------------------------------- -------------------------- #face #instagram #amour #take #couple #garden #tiktok #psychology #beyou #near #love #foryou #money #ForYouPizza #fyp #irobot #theend #pups #TikToker #couplegoals #famille #relation #doudou #youtube #twitter #tiktokers #love #reeĺs #shorts #instagood #follow #like #ouy #oyu #babyshark #lilnasx #girl #happybirthday #movie #nbayoungboy #deviance #autotrader #trading #khan #academy #carter #carguru #ancestry #accords #abc #news #bts #cbs #huru #bluebook #socialmedia #whatsapp #music #google #photography #memes #marketing #india #followforfollowback #likeforlikes #a #insta #fashion #k #trending #digitalmarketing #covid #o #snapchat #socialmediamarketing

Interesting Subject Matter Today: First, Wells Fargo announced a closure of one of its branches in Birmingham, AL. For the first time, I noticed the closure was in an upper-middle calls or higher neighborhood. Vestavia Hills has median incomes in the >$100k range, median home prices in the >$350k range, and is 87.7% White. It's basically the opposite of everything I was ever told about Alabama. Buried in the story was the fact that Wells is directing customers to another branch in the well-to-do neighborhood, and it was mentioned that in the mostly Black (75%), working-class neighborhood on First Ave. in Birmingham, where median incomes are 1/4 of Vestavia Hills as well as home values, not to mention 1/2 the cost of homes in Alabama as a whole that a Wells Fargo was temporarily closed because of "Staffing issues". Learn why it is important for that working-class branch to be open, and why that's the reason why Wells did nothing to try to get it to reopen! Listen to why it's not that, and the ironic thing is that Wells Fargo will likely not reopen the Black neighborhoods bank, despite now having displaced workers from the closing branch. I talk about that, and the nature of these closures in greater detail than anyone else! 35 minutes of unique perspective Plus, I discuss Alderman Matt Martin from the city of Chicago inviting and calling out big banks on their lending in communities of color in Chicago. This is a subject I touched on during the George Floyd story, and now he brings it back. Hear how all the banks ignored his invite to talk about their lending, and I briefly get into what I believe is the next generations method of "redlining" is and how the $1 Billion "Commitment" BofA made and the $15 Billion Commitment they announced recently is only just that... a "commitment", not a pledge they are following through on. I get into why! All My Links HERE MY PATREON Page! QUOTES 01:49 "Rioters reached the gates of the White House, possibly the most secure location on Earth. There, they chipped away at the barriers piece-by-piece while law enforcement struggled to respond." 05:44 "Asked specifically whether extremist groups were behind the violence, Lightfoot said the city is working in partnership with the FBI, the U.S. Attorney's Office, the ATF, particularly their bomb and arson units to determine that." 07:08 "The chaos of the protests makes verifying identities and motives exceedingly difficult. On Sunday, both Republican and Democratic lawmakers singled out umbrella groups including Antifa and Boogaloo." 11:52 "Members of the force, which opposes the redevelopment of the Alamo, were carrying long guns and military gear. A standoff between the groups ensued, eventually boiling over into a shoving match. Eventually, police in riot gear assembled at the site." ------------------------------ SUMMARY In this episode of the National Police Association Podcast, Antifa tagged as leading an American insurgency together with the Black Lives Matter movement. In Chicago, "outsiders" are being blamed for the coordinated rioting and looting in the city as President Trump singles out Antifa.
