Some days you're on top of the world and then within the blink of an eye, your career is over and you're just another citizen. For some, a regular life without the glitz and glam is an easy transition while others struggle away from the spotlight and spend countless days and years looking for their next phase, their next challenge, their next reason why. “I'm glad that it (return to football), never worked out in any capacity because now what I'm doing is what I love.” – (Marques), 12:01 My guest today knows how it feels to be in the NFL, flying high in a space where only the most elite athletes soar. In this episode, we are joined by a special guest, Mackenzie Belcastro. Mackenzie is known for her work in Woman Coaching and as the Host of the North Star Podcast. We will be exploring the essence of her coaching methods and her expertise in empowering women through divine and feminine principles. Mackenzie Belcastro assists women in navigating life's challenges by helping them tap into their inner strength and wisdom. Her holistic approach focuses on mindfulness, emotional healing, and self-care, enabling clients to develop self-awareness, release emotional blocks, and prioritize their well-being. Through her transformative coaching, Belcastro has empowered countless women to reclaim their power, find their purpose, and overcome adversities. The testimonials from her clients demonstrate the profound impact her coaching has had on their lives. By embracing the divine feminine, women can face life's hurdles with confidence and grace, benefiting themselves and society as a whole. As women continue to break barriers and redefine societal norms, it becomes crucial to have support systems in place to help them navigate the challenges and hurdles they encounter, sustaining the progression of womanhood. In this episode, we will delve into Mackenzie's teachings of the divine feminine, her coaching methods, and the transformative impact she has had on the lives of her clients. Mackenzie Belcastro is a renowned women's coach and advocate for the divine feminine. Her unique approach and empowering techniques have helped countless women overcome obstacles and live their best lives. Before we explore Mackenzie's coaching techniques, it is important to grasp the concept of the divine feminine. The divine feminine represents the qualities typically associated with women, such as intuition, empathy, compassion, and nurturing. However, it is crucial to note that these qualities are not limited to any gender and are inherent in all individuals. Embracing the divine feminine allows individuals to tap into their inner strength and wisdom, enabling them to navigate life's challenges with grace and resilience. While this idea can be easily misinterpreted and distorted to become overly materialistic, at its core, it is a desire to express the feminine side and embrace art, creativity, and sensitivity. Mackenzie Belcastro strongly believes in the power of the divine feminine and its ability to guide individuals through life's obstacles. Her coaching approach is holistic, focusing on the mind, body, and spirit, placing the person at the center rather than focusing on superficial displays of confidence. By incorporating various techniques, Mackenzie helps her clients develop deep self-awareness, allowing them to discover and embrace their true potential. She empowers people to not just talk about empowerment but to actually feel and embody it. Mackenzie found her purpose in a moment of complete isolation and loss, where she discovered the concept of the Divine Feminine and learned to find creative ways to connect with the complex power and sensitivity within herself. This transformative experience has shaped her into the person she is today. One of the pillars of Mackenzie's coaching is mindfulness and meditation, which she incorporates through visual journaling. By teaching her clients to be present and cultivate a deep connection with themselves, they can strengthen their relationship with their own intuition and make decisions aligned with their higher purpose. Through guided meditations, Mackenzie helps her clients create a sacred space within themselves and connect with their divine feminine essence. Understanding and embracing the creative sensitivity of women's intuition and challenging societal norms is a blessing. One piece of advice Mackenzie shared with us is the importance of meditation as a fundamental self-practice for disciplining the mind and connecting with the inner self. She suggests finding a quiet space, even something as simple as a closet, and meditating with closed eyes for a few minutes to find peace within. It can be a process because committing to prioritize oneself at the end of the day requires ongoing effort and dedication. Ultimately, it is essential to become self-aware and recognize the natural affinity that divine femininity has towards higher density thinking and consciousness. Another key aspect of Mackenzie's coaching is emotional healing. She assists her clients in identifying and releasing emotional blocks, traumas, and limiting beliefs that hinder personal growth. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, Mackenzie empowers her clients to confront and heal their emotional wounds, enabling them to step into their power and live authentically. In addition to mindfulness and emotional healing through meditation, Mackenzie also emphasizes the importance of self-care and self-love. She guides her clients in developing healthy habits, setting boundaries, and prioritizing their well-being. Limitations are necessary to preserve purity. By nurturing themselves, women can thrive in all areas of their lives, including relationships, career, and personal growth. “You don't have to try so hard in other things. Once you build up you'll know self-esteem and your own internal worth. You don't necessarily have to try so hard. Make sure that you do the workout or make sure that you get the work done because it's just like a part of the way that you view yourself. part of your image.” -Mackenzie Belcastro The impact Mackenzie Belcastro has had on her clients' lives is nothing short of extraordinary. Through her coaching, women have been able to reclaim their power, find their purpose, and overcome adversities they once believed were insurmountable. However, in this special episode we also took a dive into divorce and life coaching in marriage life. We dissect into Jason's shared experience as well as Mackenzie's own life advice to recover from disastrous heartbreaks in a relationship. We need working at the same time if you're in that corporate world and you don't have control over that schedule, finding that essential work life balance. It's actually not about fitting yourself into the stereotypical boxes. Learn to know the things you have control over versus the things you don't have control. Mackenzie Belcastro's coaching methods and unwavering belief in the power of the divine feminine have truly transformed the lives of countless women. By helping her clients tap into their intuition, heal emotional wounds, and prioritize self-care, Mackenzie empowers women to face life's hurdles with confidence and grace, going beyond the material damage and physical hurt. She transcends the limited notion of what it means to be a "woman" in the modern age. Moreover, Mackenzie recognizes that femininity knows no bounds – it extends beyond biological and ideological definitions. She teaches that there is a deep-rooted connection between masculinity and the divine feminine, highlighting her own experiences serving in the US Marine Corps as an example of how the divine feminine can thrive under pressure. Power is not inherently masculine; it is feminine. As a woman, it is important to challenge any dynamics that make you uncomfortable, trust your intuition, and not let fear take control. Gut instinct is essential in combating the stereotypical vulnerability imposed on women within the power dynamics of modern society. We need to trust in it and make our dreams a reality. As more women embrace their divine feminine essence, society as a whole benefits from their wisdom, compassion, and resilience. Growing up in Garland, Texas, Keith Mitchell idolized the Dallas Cowboys and dreamed of playing in the NFL. Keith had an outstanding career at Texas A&M as part of their star-studded defense known as “The Wrecking Crew”. As one the NCAA leaders for quarterback sacks and tackles, his dreams of playing in the NFL were becoming real. As the 1997 NFL Draft approached, Keith was sure he would be selected, but as the rounds passed his name was never called. After the draft though, his luck changed as newly hired New Orleans Saints coach, Mike Ditka called him and offered him to come play in New Orleans. He went on to have an All-Pro career until September 2003 when he suffered a career ending back injury against the Buffalo Bills. It was during his recovery that he discovered the healing power of meditation and breathing techniques. After making a full recovery, he turned his attention to his true purpose, teaching people how to find health and healing through the mindfulness. He is the founder of The Light It Up Foundation and recently released his first book, ‘The Mindfulness Playbook’ (coming soon to Amazon). #NFL #AllPro #Football #Meditation #Healing #8Seconds #TruthTalksNation
Originally broadcast in June 2019, this episode highlights the inspirational story of NFL linebacker, Tahir Whitehead. As he entered his eighth year in the NFL, Tahir joined us to discuss the obstacles he'd overcome to become the person he is today. Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, Tahir was determined not to let his surroundings define him. Motivated and driven, he realised that with the right opportunity he could become the first person in his family to go to college. Attending Temple University, Tahir worked hard to ensure he didn't become another statistic, tackling important lessons on and off the field. An Oakland Raiders player when this episode originally aired, Tahir has always been focused on giving back, and was chosen as the team's Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee for his contributions to the community of Oakland in 2019. Alongside this, he's delivered toys to local hospitals, hosted a 5k to support homeless veterans, and hosted a free youth football camp for five years in his home town, just to name a few. Now playing for the Carolina Panthers, Tahir is an example of how you can achieve greatness through hard work and determination.

Ex- Jehovas Witness member, pro football player, and Transgender rights activist Erica tackles a conversation about leaving her childhood religion, owning her life as an out and proud transgender woman, and athlete. We also discuss things we have learned and watched and read this week as Black Lives Matter protests and activism swept our country in one of the most fitting starts to LBGTQ pride month since Marsha Johnson (a Black Trans Woman) lead the stonewall riots. We talk intersectionality, systemic issues, myths about trans women and as always the religions we grew up in, and how our world views shifted from those beliefs. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Going into his 8th year in the NFL, Oakland Raiders defensive linebacker Tahir Whitehead shares his story on what it took to make it to the big stage and what it takes to stay there. Growing up in Newark, New Jersey, Tahir did not want to become a “product of his environment”. Newark is generally associated with crime, violence, and many other typical stereotypes of an inner city. Tahir realized he would not be able to be successful and achieve what he wanted to if he did not make a conscious change. In his junior year of high school, Tahir realized he had the opportunity to become the first person in his family to go to college. Tahir made the decision with the encouragement and support of his mother to switch schools his senior year of high school in order to get a fresh start to focus on bringing up his grades and doing whatever it took to make it to college. He would not let himself become another statistic. Tahir accredits his high school football coach for pushing him and advising him to put his head down and keep grinding when waiting to hear about football scholarships. With the opportunity to go to Temple University, Tahir's new teammates and coaches continued to help him excel with important lessons on and off the field. Even though he may not have been the strongest or fastest, Tahir used hard work to continue to thrive. In order to win and achieve greatness, Tahir knew he had to do his 1/11th. In football, each player on the team needs to do their individual jobs and if all 11 players on the field do their one part, they will succeed. In life, Tahir translates the message to make sure he is always giving 100% in each role he plays. Accountability is a major part of Tahir's success. Facing the man in the mirror keeps Tahir focused on the job ahead. At the end of the day, he knows if he did all he could to be the best he can be. Taking ownership of his actions is one of the major factors of what makes Tahir a great leader. In life there will always be someone waiting to take your job. In the NFL, it is no different. Every year there is a draft class, players around the league on free agency, and even players on your team all fighting for the starting position. In order to attain the starting position, you cannot take any days off. Tahir explains how you need to go to work every day being the ultimate professional who is constantly grinding and working hard. With his success, Tahir now has the opportunity to give back. This year he will be hosting his 5th annual youth football camp. Instead of just going through football drills, this year Tahir also wants to enlighten Newark youth on how to succeed and be a professional regardless of the field they aspire to be in. He plans to help bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community, stress the importance of not slacking on schoolwork and grades, how to transition to college, and how to carry and conduct yourself throughout life. Tahir has hundreds of tackles in the NFL, but has tackled and continues to tackles thousands of obstacles in life.

Sydney Roosters legend Anthony Minichiello saw the end of his playing career coming, and planned accordingly. Many of his footy mates didn't, with tragic results. Anthony says the come down from the highs of a sports star life can be hard. Many athletes struggle to find a new purpose, and structure, for their new life. It was different for 'Mini' who was raised by hard working Italian parents who made him get a trade in the early years of his NRL career. He maintained a life of balance, which extended beyond his world of sport. Anthony went on to captain the Roosters and holds the record for most games and most tries at the club. He's decorated as they come - a NSW State of Origin representative, Australia and Italy representative, and winner of the Golden Boot Award for International Player of the Year in 2005. Anthony's career coincided with a big shift in the commercialisation of sport. He talks about the evolution from his first contract worth $10,000 and drinking plenty of beer after every match, to the professional game it is today. Anthony also shares lessons learned from his humble upbringing, how he built a broad network and interests outside of rugby league and the challenge of growing the game nationally. Mini was in Adelaide to promote the Roosters' clash with the Storm at Adelaide Oval on June 24, and was able to squeeze in our interview between promotional duties. “The only way to really get better is to experience pain, to get uncomfortable, go to places that you don’t want to go, and improve.”Jesse ItzlerJesse Itzler fast-talked his way right out of college into a recording contract, ultimately taking his music all the way to MTV, the Billboard 100 and even an Emmy.Jesse Itzler then took an entrepreneurial left-turn, creating and selling big companies — companies like Marquis Jet, the world’s largest prepaid private jet card company, and Zico Coconut Water — before wooing Spanx founder Sarah Blakely (worth over $1 billion) all the way to the altar.Jesse Itzler eats only fruit before noon. And when he's not raising three kids, he runs 100 mile races, raises millions for charity and can be found court side supporting the Atlanta Hawks — the NBA team he recently purchased with some friends. What I'm trying to say is that Jesse Itzler is a quite the character. An amazing life highlighted by one predominant theme:never be afraid to fail. But there is one thing that scares Jesse Itzler: stagnation.Despite all his success, in 2010 Jesse felt his life had settled into a too-comfortable routine. So he did what any rational human would do: he invited a Navy SEAL to move in with him.But this was no ordinary SEAL (as if any such thing exists). This was David Goggins — perhaps the most intense, taciturn individual walking planet Earth. A one man metaphor for adversity destruction, Goggins' example and words formed the original inspiration behind my own journey:When you think you are done, you've only accomplished about 40% of what you are truly capable of.Goggins military record is astonishing. As a Navy SEAL, he was one of an elite group of men regularly sent on some of the toughest missions in the world. He is the only member in the U.S. Armed Forces to complete SEAL training, Army Ranger School (where he graduated as Honor Man), and Air Force tactical air controller training. Not only has he faced combat in Iraq, he served as the body guard for Iraqi Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.To honor his brother soldiers felled by battle and to raise money for charity, David lost 100 pounds in 60 days and went on to tackle the 10 most rigorous ultra-endurance challenges on the planet, compelling his 260-pound frame to top finishes at races like Badwater– a 135 mile jaunt across Death Valley in 130 degree heat (finishing 5th as a novice) — and Ultraman– 1 320-mile 3 day triathlon circumnavigation of the Big Island of Hawaii he completed with his tennis shoes duct taped to the pedals of an ill-fitting loaner bike to a 2nd place finish overall. He even completed 203.5 miles in the 48-Hour National Championship endurance foot race, earning a spot among the top 20 ultra-marathoners of the world.Just another training day for Goggins, topped off with a recent Guinness World record for most pull ups in a single day: 4,025.Goggins accepted Jesse's invitation with just one rule: for 31-days, Jesse had to do every thing David asked him to do. No exceptions. What happened next would change Jesse's life forever. An adventure chronicled in his new book, Living With A Seal: 31 Days Training With The Toughest Man On The Planet*. I found the book super fun and highly entertaining. So when my travels took me to Atlanta, I jumped at the chance to meet up with him. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
