SpaceTime Series 27 Episode 124*Galaxies: Bigger Than We Ever ImaginedRecent findings suggest that galaxies are far larger than previously thought, with gaseous halos extending much further into intergalactic space. This study, published in Nature Astronomy, focuses on the circumgalactic medium of a starburst galaxy 270 million light-years away. These halos, accounting for about 70% of a galaxy's mass excluding dark matter, may already be interacting with neighboring galaxies like Andromeda and the Milky Way. The research offers fresh insights into galaxy evolution, gas cycling, and the cosmic web.*Ancient Microbes Found in Billion-Year-Old RocksScientists have discovered living microbes in 2 billion-year-old rocks from South Africa's Bushveld Igneous Complex. This groundbreaking find, published in Microbial Ecology, represents the oldest known living microorganisms. The study utilized advanced imaging techniques to confirm the microbes were native to the ancient rock, offering a glimpse into early life on Earth and potential clues for extraterrestrial life on Mars.*Vulcan Centaur Rocket's Successful LaunchThe United Launch Alliance's new Vulcan Centaur rocket overcame a faulty booster to successfully place its payload into orbit. Despite the anomaly, the mission proceeded from Cape Canaveral, marking an important step towards using Vulcan for high-priority payloads. This launch follows Vulcan's maiden voyage and highlights the transition from older Atlas V and Delta IV rockets. The Science Report00:00:00 - This is spacetime series 27, episode 124 for broadcast on the 14 October 202400:00:48 - New study finds that galaxies are much larger than previously thought00:06:25 - Galaxy is 270 million light years away and is a star bursting galaxy00:17:18 - United Launch Alliance's Vulcan rocket has overcome a faulty strap on booster00:22:12 - The 2024 Nobel Prizes for Science were awarded this week00:24:56 - A new study finds two diametrically opposed personalities enjoy magic the mostwww.spacetimewithstuartgary.comwww.bitesz.com

A OTTOBRE ROSSO | Trailer italiano - MovieDigger - 12 feb 2021;Inside Russia's $5 Billion Typhoon Submarine - Tech Vision - 19 lug 2021; Russia's Nuclear Submarine Successfully Test-Fires 4 Bulava intercontinental Ballistic Missiles - Rumoaohepta7 - 23 mag 2018; 03 - The World's Largest Submarine Ever Built | How big is the submarine? - Secret Weapons - 7 ago 2021; Russia's New Mega Submarine, Belgorod - H I Sutton - 9 dic 2021; Poseidon: Russian Underwater Drone That Can Sink Britain - TOP Defense News - 7 mag 2022; Caccia A Ottobre Rosso - "È difficile capire quando ritirarsi in una gara di resistenza" - Talb T - 29 mag 2021.

This. This is the model of how every school should be behaving over the next year as they get their esports programs in order. They will find their faculty member(s), facility, sponsors, community, student leaders and create something significant in a short time. There's still plenty of room for flavors of programs and clubs, but that will be driven by the community of students. Any college not attempting to even gauge the interest of their students has failed to stay relevant and will be missing out on a tremendous branding opportunity and recruiting tool. The 365 Days of Astronomy, the daily podcast of the International Year of Astronomy 2009

Paul Hill, Ralph Wilkins and Jenifer Millard host. Damien Phillips and John Wildridge produce. The Discussion: As a reward for good behavior, we’ve dispensed with wittering on about us and gone straight into the news. The News: Rounding up the space exploration news this month we have: - The last of the Delta IV mediums. - India’s Vikram lunar lander failure. - ESA move a satellite to avoid crashing with a SpaceX satellite. - NASA award funding for a Lunar Gateway pathfinding cubist. - Australia & Japan commit to supporting NASA’s moonshot, Project Artemis. - NASA place orders for the first of possibly 12 Orion moon capsules. Main news stories: A roundup of Elon Musk’s Herculean benevolent/malevolent efforts to get giant phalluses on Mars. The Debate: Court is in session for the fifth and final round of advocacy to get a winner from your top ten historic space missions. This month Judge Damien presides over arguments between the International Space Station and the Pioneer missions. Q&A: With the news of a near collision between a SpaceX and an ESA satellite, does that mean more satellite collisions in the future? Well this episode isFANTASTIC! Getting to know Hops was a lot of fun but then learning just how far WSU has come since the last time I interviewed members from their organization is really impressive. WSU is taking huge bounding steps to join the pack of frontrunners in collegiate esports and certainly, a commanding lead in esports development in Washington state. Yeah I know UW has a community gaming lounge, but in terms of program and development? UW can't stand up to what Hops and company have got going. I encourage everyone to listen to it, despite my best efforts of self-sabotaging this episode. I apologize for how Hops sounds, that is entirely my fault. They’ve narrowed down a likely source to a distant ancient dwarf galaxy some three billion light-years away – and possibly to a highly magnetic type of neutron star known as a magnetar. *Two new missions to explore early solar system NASA has selected two missions designed to open new windows on one of the earliest eras in the history of our solar system -- a time less than 10 million years after the birth of the Sun. The missions, known as Lucy and Psyche will fly in 2021 and 2013 respectively. *Two more Near Earth objects discovered NASA's NEOWISE mission has discovered another two previously unknown Near Earth Objects or NEOs heading for our celestial neighbourhood, including one that further blurs the line between asteroids and comets. One is an object called 2016 WF9 in an orbit that takes it on a scenic tour of our solar system, while the other is a new comet named C/2016 U1 NEOWISE which has a good chance of becoming visible through binoculars. *Dark Matter pioneer astronomer Vera Rubin dies at 88 One of the great pioneers of Dark Matter – astronomer Vera Rubin has passed away aged 88. Rubin’s pioneering research measuring galactic rotation curves proved there was something fundamentally wrong with sciences understanding of the physics of the universe. Either there was a serious flaw in the laws of gravity or there was a great deal of unseen mass out there -- needed to explain observations of the apparent movement of galaxies in clusters. We now know that missing mass is Dark Matter. *Military satellite launched on Delta IV rocket One of the world’s most advanced military telecommunications satellites has been successfully launched into orbit. The eighth US Air Force Wideband Global Satcom system‘s satellite WGS-8 blasted into black skies aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket from Space Launch Complex 37B at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida. If you're enjoying SpaceTime, please help out by sharing and telling your friends. The origin of Rosetta’s comet A new study claims Rosetta’s comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko most likely originated in the Kuiper Belt. This distant origin for 67P implies it would be made from primordial material, that existed in their current form since before Earth was born. Soyuz trio return safely to Earth Three expedition 49 crew members have returned safely to Earth following their 115 day mission aboard the International Space Station. The successful landing was also the first atmospheric re-entry of the new Russian Soyuz MS-01 capsule which had been on its maiden flight. China ready to fly its new Long March 5. At first, the witnesses assumed that the objects were satellites, although they were moving across the sky at a very high (angular) velocity, about three times that of a satellite in a typical low-Earth orbit, and they were converging rapidly. The witnesses were even more surprised to see the objects suddenly stop, circle one another, and then go shooting back in the same direction from which they had just come. http://www.nuforc.org/ Western United States, Wednesday, February 10th, 2016, @ 0510 hrs. (Eastern)— While sitting on a ski lift, a father and his 14-year old son, who describe themselves as extremely experienced night sky watchers, witness two very bright, “star-like” objects move across the night sky, almost directly overhead. (Pacific)— 4 states Approximately 90 minutes after a Delta IV rocket was launched from Vandenberg AFB, witnesses from California, Oregon, Idaho, and Nevada, report a number of very strange sighting events. NUFORC initially assumed that the witnesses had recorded the incorrect time, and that they had witnessed the launch from Vandenberg. However, subsequent investigation has satisfied us that the witnesses observed something very unusual, as further supported by the illustration provided by a witness in Lebanon, Oregon.
