Daarbij zouden rijke westerse toeristen enorme geldbedragen hebben betaald aan Bosnische Serviërs om op onschuldige burgers te schieten tijdens de belegering van Sarajevo. Een gruwelijk gerucht dat al lange tijd rondging, maar nu in meerdere Europese landen daadwerkelijk onderzocht wordt. Eerder dit jaar zijn er in Italië al strafrechtelijke onderzoeken gestart.    Om dit toe te lichten is Balkandeskundige en journalist Marjolein Koster te gast. Geen geloei meer op de eerste maandag van de maand vanaf 2028 dus. Een stukje gedeelde nationale herkenning verdwijnt, maar vanaf nu zal een NL Alert volgens minister Van Weel voldoende zijn.    Wanneer is dit luchtalarm eigenlijk in Nederland geïnstalleerd, en hoe werden mensen voordien gewaarschuwd voor onheil? Te gast is Roelof van Gelderen van Museum Bescherming Bevolking in Grou, Friesland.    (21:27) Ze wilde studeren in een tijd dat de universiteit voor vrouwen gesloten was. Ze wilde denken, schrijven en de wereld veranderen, terwijl een getrouwde vrouw wettelijk handelingsonbekwaam was. Geertruida Kapteyn-Muysken, geboren in 1855, zocht haar leven lang naar een manier om vrij te zijn en ontwikkelde een levensfilosofie die verbluffend modern is, zo ontdekte historicus Maite Karssenberg. Ze schreef de biografie Dubbelleven: Geertruida Kapteyn-Muysken en haar rebelse levensfilosofie, en vertelt meer. (34:54) De Neanderthaler. Jarenlang werd hij gezien als het achterlijke achterneefje van de mens: een logge en dommige holbewoner. Een evolutionaire zijstraat die het uiteindelijk af moest leggen tegen ons, de slimme Homo sapiens. Maar de afgelopen jaren brokkelt dat beeld in hoog tempo af. Uit DNA-bewijs rijst zelfs de vraag op: waren die Neanderthalers misschien helemaal geen aparte mensensoort?   We weten ook dat Neanderthalers lijm maakten, sieraden droegen, en zorgden voor gehandicapte groepsgenoten. Nu blijkt zelfs dat ze aan prehistorische tandheelkunde deden. Vorige week werd bekend dat een kies uit Siberië krassporen laat zien van een stenen tandartswerktuig, gebruikt om de pijn van een ontstoken kies te verlichten.    Om dit verder te duiden is Gerrit Dusseldorp te gast, archeoloog aan de Universiteit Leiden.    (45:58) Elke week bespreken we historische tips met afwisselend Nadia Bouras, Wim Berkelaar, Bart Funnekotter, Sanne Frequin, en Fresco Sam-Sin. JEN NA ⁠HTTPS://HEROHERO.CO/CESTMIR⁠⁠⁠⁠ A ⁠HTTPS://FORENDORS.CZ/CESTMIR „Na Ukrajině jsem strávila více času, než je asi ve válce záhodno,“ říká novinářka, válečná reportérka a držitelka Ceny Ferdinanda Peroutky Darja Stomatová o posledních letech, kdy na Ukrajině tráví pravidelně celé měsíce. Pro ni i pro místní se přitom „hrozně těžce“ hledá vzpomínka na dobu před rokem 2022, kdy byl život normální. Válka podle ní zasáhla každého - rodiny, děti i celé generace - a její důsledky budou ve společnosti přetrvávat na dlouhé roky dopředu. Nejtěžší je ale její trvání bez viditelného konce. „Ta nekonečnost konfliktu mě trápí asi nejvíc. Vlastně i to, že každý sebemenší náznak člověk vnímá jako nějaký posun a pak přijde velká ťafka a on to vlastně žádný posun není,“ popisuje novinářka. Mluví i o smrti lidí, které znala, o psychologickém teroru sirén i o vyčerpání z neustálé nejistoty. Přesto trvá na novinářské neutralitě. „Nejde o to, co já si myslím, ale jde spíš o to, jakou práci odvedu, aby byla co nejpravdivější,“ říká s tím, že aktivismus nebo přímou pomoc odmítá právě proto, aby její práce zůstala důvěryhodná pro všechny. Zásadní roli v jejím každodenním fungování hraje i spolupráce a partnerský vztah s kameramanem Janem Schürgerem, s nímž tráví na Ukrajině dlouhé týdny a měsíce v nepřetržité blízkosti a sdílí s ním nejen profesní odpovědnost, ale i strach, vyčerpání a rozhodování o míře rizika. Právě vzájemná důvěra a sehranost podle ní umožňují v prostředí války dlouhodobě obstát. „Ten strach je ale obrovský, spousta novinářů se na Ukrajinu nevracela, protože to jejich druhá polovička nechtěla a oni to pochopili,“ dodává s tím, že ani její partner si neumí představit, že by do válkou zasažené země jezdila s někým jiným, protože by „neměl věci pod kontrolou“. Stomatová je původem z Kazachstánu - do Česka přitom přišla už jako malá, kdy se její rodina po rozpadu Sovětského svazu rozhodla odejít kvůli nejistotě i omezeným možnostem pro rusky mluvící menšinu. Začátky byly podle ní těžké: rodiče hodně pracovali, rodina měla málo peněz a ona sama byla ve škole „cizinka“, která si na nové prostředí teprve zvykala. Skrze svou zkušenost dnes vnímá také příběhy dětí z Ukrajiny i Ruska, které často čelí šikaně a které jsou podle novinářky něčím, co by společnosti neměla přehlížet. Rozhovor se dotýká také kolektivní viny Rusů, propagandy jako zbraně, rozdělení ukrajinské společnosti, otázky voleb během války i budoucnosti konfliktu, který podle ní může skončit „do dvou let“, ale bez jistoty, jaký bude jeho konec. Co znamená být nestranným svědkem uprostřed války? Kde je hranice rizika a proč ji znovu překračovat? A co by se stalo, kdybychom o válce přestali informovat? I to se dozvíte v rozhovoru.

TV journalist Darja Stomatová has been reporting from Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion. Last week Stomatová received the Ferdinand Peroutka Prize, perhaps the most prestigious honour in Czech journalism, for her coverage of the conflict. I spoke to the 34-year-old at our studios in Prague.

Brecht van Hulten praat met schrijver en journalist Arend Hulshof over Alleen in dans kon zij wonen, zijn biografie van danser Darja Collin. Als Darja Collin op negenjarige leeftijd voor het eerst een dansoptreden ziet, weet ze direct: dit wil ik ook. Na een eenzame jeugd op een meisjesinternaat kiest ze – tegen de tijdgeest in – voor het podium. Ze volgt opleidingen in Dresden en Parijs en opent een dansschool in Den Haag. Daar wordt ze verliefd op dichter Jan Slauerhoff, met wie ze een kort en stormachtig huwelijk heeft. Maar het levensverhaal van Darja reikt veel verder dan Nederland en het ballet. Zo doorkruist ze op de vlucht voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog Afrika, treedt ze op voor geallieerde troepen op Borneo en Nieuw-Guinea en begeeft ze zich met groot gemak in de beau monde van New York en Sydney.

Predstava Spolzka tla, s podnaslovom Antimuzikal Nezaželenih, je najnovejše odrsko delo Matjaža Fariča, plesalca, koreografa in režiserja, ki v njej združuje mnogotere odrske jezike in izraze, med njimi sodobni ples, igro, petje, glasbo v živo, dodatno dinamiko pa v dogajanje vnese tudi uporaba vrtljivega odra v Linhartovi dvorani Cankarjevega odra, na katerega smo že domala pozabili. Kakor oblika je tudi vsebina zelo heterogena, predvsem pa je zanimivo soočenje ter srečanje sveta sodobnih plesalcev in plesalk s svetom brezdomcem. V to srečanje so vključene vsakršne nujnosti, navade, možnosti, strahovi, glasovi, in prekletstva, vsak na svoji strani pa se – z mislijo na jutri – bori za kolikor toliko znosen danes. Darja Reichman je članica ansambla Prešernovega gledališča v Kranju. Na tem odru ustvarja že trideset let, pred tem je bila v Slovenskem ljudskem gledališču v Celju, igrala je v filmih, na televiziji, pogosto nastopa v literarnih oddajah in radijskih igrah našega radia. Prejela je več nagrad, omenimo nagrado Združenja dramskih umetnikov Slovenije. Takrat je bilo v utemeljitvi nagrade zapisano, da je »Darja Reichman ustvarjalka izredno širokega igralskega razpona.« Lani je prejela Sterijevo nagrado za vlogi Maruše in Marte v uprizoritvi Deževen dan v Gurlitschu (gúrliču) v Novem Sadu, pa nagrado julija za igro v predstavi Boj na požiralniku v režiji Jerneja Lorencija in letos Borštnikovo nagrado za isto vlogo. Težav in poti do rešitev je toliko kot ljudi. Svoje zgodbe in izkušnje pripovedujejo invalidi, odvisniki, starši otrok s posebnimi potrebami in tisti, ki so se morali spoprijeti s hudo boleznijo. Darja is an expert on the future of work and the impact of globalization and offshoring in software companies. She has conducted research with and international companies such as ABB, Boss Media, CALVI, DXC, Emerson Process Management, Ericsson, SONY, Spotify, and, Telenor and has insights from cooperating with offshore vendors in India, China, Poland, Latvia, Ukraine and Russia. Darja shares her background, growing up in Latvia with a love for math, and later moving to Sweden for work and Norway to conduct research at SINTEF, one of Europe's largest independent research organizations. She shares some of her research findings on outsourcing and discusses the effect automation will have on outsourcing and profitability. She also discusses reasons why people stay or leave their jobs, as well as cultural differences and the challenge of people from different cultures finding common ground. Pomáhali nám, chtěli, aby lidi na Západě měli informace,“ vypráví v podcastu Mediální cirkus válečná zpravodajka České televize Dajra Stomatová, která se svými vstupy z války proslavila.Stomatové bylo tehdy navíc pouhých 30 let a za sebou měla pouze jednu velkou zahraniční zkušenost. A sice reportování z Běloruska během masivních protestů proti zmanipulovaným prezidentským volbám ve prospěch diktátora Alexandra Lukašenka, kde byla poprvé právě s kamaramanem Jánem Schürgerem. I ty byly vyhrocené, masivně při nich totiž zatýkala běloruská tajná policie.„Pamatuju si na okamžik, kdy jsme byli na náměstí v Minsku, bylo tam strašně moc lidí, velký dav, byla tam policie a Honza mi tehdy říkal: Když se ten dav pohne, tak hlavně buď u zdi a někam nelez, nebuď mezi těmi lidmi, nenech se strhnout. To byly takové moje první rady od Honzy, kdy potom jsem to využívala na jiných cestách,“ vypráví Darja.Na Ukrajině před invazí natáčela napjatou atmosféru v zemi a začátek války ji a  kameramana Jána Schürgera zastihl právě v Charkově. „Samozřejmě jsem se bál, ale člověk musí uvažovat velmi racionálně a my jsme vlastně zůstali na místě proto, abychom byli v bezpečí, protože vždycky nejnebezpečnější situace nastávají, když někam člověk přijíždí nebo odjíždí,“ říká Schürger.Z Ukrajiny reportovali pro televizní stanici CNN Prima News a díky tomu, že stali poslední západním štábem na místě, dokonce vstupovali do živého vysílání americké CNN. „Říkali jsme si, že zůstaneme, dokud budeme schopni vysílat živé vstupy, na tom jsme vlastně postavili celé to začáteční reportování,“ vzpomíná Stomatová, která je dnes spolu se Schürgerem v redakci České televize.Válečná novinařina patří mezi nejrizikovější odvětví žurnalistiky. Stomatová navíc vysílá přímo z fronty. I proto se musí řídit mnoha pravidly - hlásit nadřízeným i blízkým přesné místo pobytu, být s nimi v kontaktu, být označená, nosit vestu nebo helmu. Jeden druhému také musí být schopen poskytnout první pomoc. Na Ukrajině se ostatně dostali s kameramanem i pod palbu.„Potom jsou pravidla, jako že Darja musí umět ošetřit mě, kdyby se mi něco stalo. Musí vědět, komu má zavolat a máme určité postupy: máme kamarády, kteří jsou tady v Čechách, který o sobě nevědí, ale kdyby byl nějaký problém, tak vědí naši lokaci, zburcují určitý lidi, aby se nastartoval mechanismus naší záchrany,“ popisuje další z regulí Schürger. Oba také mají dohodu, že pokud jeden na nějaké místo nechce jet, tak se nejede. Říkají tomu právo veta.„Byly i případy, kdy jsme odmítli jet na frontu nebo tam, kam nám nabízeli. Několik týdnů před pádem Avdijivky v Doněcké oblasti nám jedna z brigád nabídla, že by nás dostala na poslední místo, které ještě drželo obranu Avdijivky. Popisovali nám, že bychom jeli v noci, přijeli bychom k továrně, tam bychom byli v malém krytu. My jsme se s Honzou rozhodovali, jestli ano nebo ne. Vždycky je to o tom, co z toho dostaneme, jakou dostaneme informaci, jaký dostaneme obrázek versus to riziko, které budeme podstupovat,“ říká Darja Stomatová. Cestu nakonec odmítli a na konvoj pak zaútočili Rusové.Strach a zloSamotná Stomatová má k východu blízko. Pochází z Kazachstánu a mluví plynně rusky. Kameraman Schürger má zase řadu zkušeností z konfliktních oblastí - natáčel začátek občanské války v Sýrii v roce 2012 ale třeba i demonstrace na ukrajinském Majdanu v roce 2014. Právě Schürger má při cestách do válečných a konfliktních zón na starosti bezpečnost celého týmu. „Několikrát se nás lidi ptali, co nás na válce přitahuje. Válka, válka je droga. Je to něco v nás. Myslím si, že evolučně naše tělo je nastavené, že prostě ve válce se probudí smysly, je to opojné, ale zároveň to bere zdravý rozum. Válka je totální zlo a to zlo se projevuje právě v umírání. A je úplně jedno, jestli to je jedna nebo druhá strana, obě dvě strany platí vysokou daň. A to by si měli opravdu všichni uvědomovat a hlavně politici,“ dodal Schürger.--Mediální cirkus. 16. února 2022 vyrazila s kameramanem a partnerem Jánem Schürgerem na Ukrajinu. Po týdnu začala ruská invaze, a tak se stala válečnou reportérkou. Od té doby má pravidelný režim – měsíc v Česku, měsíc na Ukrajině. Vytrvale přináší obrazy, svědectví i příběhy z konfliktu na východní hranici Evropy. Dvaatřicetiletá reportérka se narodila v Kazachstánu, mluví rusky a za svou práci získala Novinářskou křepelku.
