Live #Podcast Recording of #FOMOFanz the Brian Fanzo show Multistreaming and sponsored by Restream.IO https://restream.io/?ref=PGOMW FOMOFanz began as a selfish content creation method for me. I was already hosting two interview shows, and running two twitter chats, and I had reached a point of live streaming just to live stream was no longer in my brand strategy. But I knew I needed something that would keep me in the live streaming game, but I didn't want to manage another podcast or live show with guests and other people's calendars... So I thought what if I did a solo podcast and could record whenever I want and talk about whatever I want... GENIUS! Since it's launching, the name has changed from F.O.M.O.Fanz to FOMOFanz to FOMO Fanz and the mission statement went from "Helping you embrace your fear of missing out" to "Helping you cure your fear of missing out." In typical form for content I create, I had a broad "niche" that I would attempt to squeeze into. Still, quickly after 5 episodes, I realized as the CEO of Team No Niche that it was just silly. I would talk about a wide range of topics and bring the conversation back to help understand the changing future... After launching an interview podcast called "Press The Damn Button" I was presented with the question of what I should do with this podcast. Should I merge it within FOMOFanz or keep it separate. Press The Damn Button is modeled after my favorite podcast Arm Chair Expert by Dax Shepard. He does a great job of having a mix of content with interviews, live shows, and "expert on expert" that live within Armchair expert but also have separate feeds. Before, I decided what I was going to do with FOMOFanz March 2020 hit. Then after attempting to record two episodes and not feeling it for the first time in the 4+ years of the show, I realized anything with the concept of "fear" in it while dealing with a pandemic isn't appropriate. This was also the perfect excuse/valid reason to pause FOMOFanz and move forward with Press The Damn Button. Enter August 2020, 5 months after the pause. I was fielding lots of comments about if the show would come back, and many of 2019 episodes were getting some fantastic downloads still. So 168 days after pausing the show, it's been renamed, rebranded, and remodeled once again to FOMOFanz: The Bran Fanzo Podcast. And as I reflect back on the 1,370 days since launching FOMOFanz, I'm genuinely thankful for each and every listener that has given me their time. Allowed me to share my thoughts. Allowed me to use this podcast to rant. Allowed me to vent and in many cases, use this show as my own self-therapy. I'm genuinely thankful for each of you and excited for what is next! -- Sponsored and Multi-streamed by Restream.io Stream live video to 30+ social platforms AT THE SAME TIME with Restream.io Go live on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to reach a wider audience. You're tuning in to a SPECIAL episode where you're going to hear the stories and life lessons that I still leverage today from managing my families yogurt shop at 15 years old and traveling to Iraq and Afghanistan while working in cybersecurity for the US government. I was recently challenged by some friends that I didn't leverage or reference my crazy unique background enough within my keynotes or on my podcast and after some self-examination, they were right.  So I decided to do what I always do and embrace the change adding a brand new 20-minute intro segment to my Press The Damn Button keynote at Social Media Day San Diego event this past week. You'll hear the story of how my Dad didn't close up our family yogurt shop when Dairy Queen moved into the same shopping center and how the soldiers I worked with as a government contractor taught me the importance of empathy, self-awareness and leveraging technology to make us never feel alone even on the battlefields of Iraq.  Shoutout to our NEW sponsor FABL.CO My new speaker website BrianFanzo.com has been getting some amazing feedback and I'm excited to share that it's built on @fablco platform. Our brains are wired to respond to the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on Social Media. Learn how to overcome the naturally occuring negative bias in your brain that predispose you to FOMO. In this episode, we are talking about FOMO, anxiety caused by a desire to stay continually connected to what others are doing. We’ll discuss ways that you can reframe the Fear Of Missing Out to the Freedom Of Making Optimism. How to Overcome the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) on Social Media Episode Highlights There’s been a lot of neuro-research conducted around negative bias. Your brain responds and reacts more strongly to negative stimuli and thus, you focus more on negative instances. When exposed to negative stimuli, there is a greater surge in electrical activity in our brains. As a result, our attitudes are more heavily influenced by downbeat news than good news. As research relates to FOMO, we tend to focus more on what we’re not accomplishing rather than what we are accomplishing and what others are accomplishing that we aren’t. Mirror neurons mirror the behavior of others that we observe. These neurons fire up the premotor cortex of our brains which prepares us for motion, and parietal lobe that grabs our attention. This is why there are contagious actions and feelings and why we want to be like others. FOMO is in the brain, so how do we overcome it? Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, people can bring positive or negative experiences into their life. Reframing. Get away from trying to exercise self-control, because willpower is limited. Studies show that willpower is an expendable resource and you only have so much every day. Instead, reframe the way you think. Replace the subject or matter of frustration with another thought. Avoidance. Stop focusing on competitors which will slow you down. You do you. Spending time reflecting on the competitor is a waste of time and only hurts you. We discuss everything from why I love that he lives in my favorite city in the world to his opinion from outside of the US on that stereotype that sometimes Americans get when they travel.  We also breakdown our thoughts on the current state of digital marketing we call out those that sell unicorns and rainbows and we really just have a lot of fun interviewing each other. Make sure you checkout Chris 'Kubby' Kubbernus and give him a follow on all the social channels especially Instagram (@ChrisKubby) This is a rare episode where I'm interviewing somebody on FOMOFanz but make sure to subscribe to this podcast as this won't be the last of this style of content as I got some fun things in the works that well for now I'll just invoke your FOMO before I let you know the details and cure your FOMO.

What does it take to build relationships and grow business online to offline and back to online.  Lots of people talk about living your life and being yourself including me but what does that mean and how does upping your t-shirt game relate to this discussion.  I break down some comments I received at the Social Shake-Up Show last week and share why a brand emailed me to speak at their event because of my cool “You’re Killing Me Smalls T-Shirt.”  I also answer the following questions: What are the key’s to authenticity? What role does consistency play in personal brand building and storytelling? Should everyone wear t-shirts now? Can you be yourself in a shirt and tie? How you can make sure there’s no disconnect in your story and your first impression! Twitter is a social network that for many is confusing and overwhelming and Twitter hasn't exactly done a great job at marketing itself or helping people truly understand its platform.  I mean they spent years fighting against Facebook only to come out and say they don't think they compete with Facebook (I agree) and they are really a real-time social news platform.   But the thing about Twitter is, It changed my life both personal and professional and I believe every brand can benefit by spending time on twitter in a couple key areas which I go into detail on this episode.  Those areas are:  Community Building Real-Time News-Jacking Social Customer Service Thought Leadership Content Curation  Employee Advocacy Customer Retention  New Customer Aquisition  I'm not sure why Twitter became less sexy for brands or entrepreneurs to talk about but I firmly believe while everyone is focused on Facebook ads and Instagram, you can stand out and find massive business value on Twitter in 2018 and beyond.   What do you think?  Tweet at me @iSocialFanz or @FOMOFanz and let me know your thoughts!

Keynote details: Facebook Strategy in Light of the Facebook Apocalypse Facebook has long preached the importance of social media being an extension of human to human interactions but lacked the platform or algorithm to reward brands for doing so. This all changed on January 11, 2018, as Mark Zuckerberg stated that: “If what we’re here to do is help people build relationships, then we need to adjust.” Brian will walk the audience through the strategy shift to create meaningful community interactions, empower employees, and leverage both influencers and fans. He will cover: · Social Media Changes: The latest news feed change and how that impacts organic reach and Facebook Ad spend. · Conversational Content: How to build a content strategy from the fans perspective focusing on creating “participatory content” targeted at an active audience rather than social spectators. · People Empowerment: What role employee advocacy and influencer relations will have on creating social media conversations and organic reach of content on social media. · 4 T’s: Framework needed to embrace this change & build a scalable strategy through Trust, Transparency, Training and Technology. The concept of influencer marketing isn’t new but how brands can leverage influencers and what works for collaborating with an influencer has drastically changed over the last 18 months. It doesn’t matter if you’re a small business or an enterprise there are people that use your product or service that influence others through their actions, their words or simply their trust in that person. The hard part is finding the right influencer then mapping out what success looks like for you the brand and how you’ll measure that success. On episode 61 of FOMOFanz, I share the mindset changes and critical steps required for brands to be successful with influencer marketing all the way from finding the right influencer to managing influencer expectations to ultimately creating a partnership built on trust with influencers that have unique communities that create different types of content. I’ve had the luxury of first being identified as in influencer in 2014 by IBM, then working with brands like Applebees, Cox Business, SAP and the Superbowl to build influencer marketing and I believe even in my short time in this space so much has changed and the value and plan for influencer marketing in 2016 wouldn’t work in 2018. I’d love for you to listen to this episode as I share a bit about my experience but more importantly break down each of the below critical aspects that done correctly will lead to a successful influencer marketing partnership both moving the business needle and establishing a long-term relationship with the influencer and their community! Define what success looks like and how to measure that. Micro-Influencer why they work for brands of all sizes Hiring the right people to source & how to properly outreach to influencer Managing expectations and partnering with the influencer to reach a shared goal. Content collaboration is far more than an influencer takeover or influencer creating content on their own channel. Field of dreams marketing is broken, you must engage with the community where the community is and be active in building trust with the community alongside the influencer Making the partnership beneficial for the influencer doesn’t require it being a paid relationship but it does require the brand to understand what matters to the influencer Sponsor or Speaker Requests: Fanzo@iSocialFanz.com

The idea of what an entrepreneur is the value of entrepreneurship has drastically transformed over the last many years.  No matter which way you turn you are flooded with online courses teaching you how to get rich quick and the pontification of entrepreneurs that upon reaching great success want to highlight their rags to riches “memories.” But few talk about their failures while they are failing, their struggles as they are struggling or the crazy rollercoaster ride that is entrepreneurship in 2018.  I decided to change up the conversation around entrepreneurship on my most recent episode of FOMOFanz, as I worked 9 years for an enterprise company and 2 years as a startup before becoming an entrepreneur 5 years ago and it’s no doubt been the hardest thing I’ve ever done.  In 2016 I wrote: The Key To Entrepreneurship Is What You Don’t Know & Entrepreneurship Taught Me I Suck At These 10 Things but little did I know at the time that 2017 would be the hardest year for me.   Do you ever feel like you lost your way as an entrepreneur? Do you question if you hit rock bottom? Are you pivoting your business because it seems like everyone else is doing it a different way and finding success? Do you find yourself celebrating others success while secretly wondering what you are doing wrong as an entrepreneur? Do you question if entrepreneurship is right for you monthly, while weekly celebrating the fact you work for yourself and love what you do? Well, you aren’t alone and on this episode, I shared my thoughts on all of these topics while getting personal about what I’ve learned this past year and why I’m 100% confident that I’m going to crush 2018.   Entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone and in 2018 the ability to consume, create, watch and learn often times can be overwhelming while at the same time if you have the right mindset and surround yourself with the right people turns out to be one hell of a journey. Please have a listen and share this episode with anyone who is an entrepreneur or thinking about diving into entrepreneurship as the rags to riches stories are far and few between and sadly many jump into being an entrepreneur with all the wrong reasons and false expectations. ons and false expectations.

Special cross-over episode....  Episode 95 of SMACtalk was so full of fire I wanted to bring the full episode here to FOMOFanz. My co-host Daniel Newman and I begin the discussion talking about the value of Facebook and how it's changed in its value for businesses but also entrepreneurs spending time on the platform.  The live audience listening on Facebook Live then took the conversation in a much more dynamic direction as we started discussing business value and priorities of entrepreneurs and making sure VALUE is something we all examine on a regular basis!   Hope you'll enjoy this special episode!  “Organic Facebook is now the office water cooler. Nothing more.” This episode started out discussing this claim co-host Daniel Newman made about the trends he’s been seeing lately on Facebook. As Daniel and co-host, Brian Fanzo began to discuss the changing landscape of Facebook and all social media channels for that manner the discussion took an interesting turn invoking a wide range of emotions and comments from the live video audience that you can read about below.  This episode might be a bit of a change of pace from the traditional SMACtalk discussions but the underlying foundation of this discussion can be translated across every aspect of your business today! More of Daniel’s Statement here:  It has truly returned to its roots of being purely a place to BS and talk about politics, family, sports, and news, but compared to the time that many people spend on it, it has almost no business value. Here is an easy way to tell. If you share something on FB that is closely connected to your work, what kind of engagement do you get? Now, share an article about your kids or politics and see what happens. If I share an article about cloud, semiconductors or IoT, I get almost nothing. If I share a picture of my kids I get a day or two of endorphin rising notifications. Over the past couple of months I've spent much less time here, but I've actually become a better customer to Facebook because instead of using it Organically, when I share business related things I put paid behind it so the content reaches a very targeted audience that could potentially consume what I'm trying to share/sell/spread. Furthermore, I've realized that the time I spent here and the "Influence" built here has no correlation to the work I do nor does it for many others. This has since been further proven as I've never been busier with client work when I was spending less time being distracted by a few interesting discussions and a littering of mind-numbing self-serving opining and a sprinkle of self-promotional content that makes me further understand why people don't want to see such content from me. Also, studies have shown it takes 25 minutes to return to work following a distraction. As a partner in multiple businesses, I find this troubling to consider how those constantly being lured in by these distractions are able to produce at even a fraction of their potential. This maps to a conversation about the future of work and compensation that will have to wait for another day. Now, having said that, Facebook is a perfectly great place to have the water cooler talk. It is nice to spend time catching up on world events and having the chance to debate them and do it in volume. However, I seriously doubt many people are able to look at their time spent here critically and come to the conclusion that there is a good return on their investment of time. Facebook is great to reach an audience, but really this is a paid vehicle, not an organic one. If you aren't selling MLM, then most client acquisition won't take place here and you would be better suited to make your connections on LinkedIn or Twitter or a more specialized group setting that has more targeted audiences.  And yes, I realize some people will not agree with me. Some may even lecture me as to why I'm wrong. I'll hear about the many great relationships that have been built here (and those are important too). But I would also suggest that odds are some good things would have happened for those people had they spent the same time on other networks or at risk of sounding crazy, that time spent working.  Okay...I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. And I'll come back to look at some point, but not until I'm done with stuff that makes the hay.  Next look for a barrage of pics of the kids and dog. Because that is what people really want to see here

What role will transparency and authenticity play in our digital future?   We often hear leaders especially marketers use the terms transparency and authenticity follow it up with phrases like “I hate that word” or “I know it's a buzzword but.”  In my opinion, this not only takes away from the validity of these two powerful personality traits but it also sheds a light on the person who is talking about those terms. The second type being subject matter expert or someone that is really the one that is boots on the ground practitioner. The rate of change is like nothing we’ve seen before and thanks to cloud technology, mobile devices and the desire for companies to embrace digital transformation that rate isn’t slowing down anytime soon.   I love change, I even get introduced on stage as a Change Evangelist but getting leadership or my manager or my co workers to embrace the change I want to lead hasn’t always been fun or successful.   When you start breaking down how much change is happening around us in business and our personal lives it's no wonder that most people when presented with a pitch or idea of change immediately default to NO.  While at the same time most have realized that you can’t fight change or stop change, therefore if you don’t embrace it or just say no the only thing you’re doing is pushing off the change today waiting for it to be presented or forced upon you tomorrow.   I decided to breakdown the change agent roles I’ve had in my career both at the Department of Defense as a contractor in cyber security for BAE Systems as well as the technology evangelist at IO data centers.  There are some themes and trends that ring true across both of those jobs and interestingly enough when I looked at the successful change examples they all fell into 3 paths to driving change. 3 Paths to Change: Win your manager & the conversation before it ever happens Focus on baby steps of change Do first yourself then present the change as what you did not just want to do! I breakdown those 3 paths, why I believe you must always try to make your manager look good and why I love quoting Bill Murray from the movie What About Bob in this episode of FOMOFanz.

Last year I discovered an organization known as ERASE a group of leaders dedicated to erasing the child trafficking epidemic here in the United States.   ERASE’s mission is to: "be a unifying voice creating a cultural shift in the perception of child trafficking, working towards its eradication by empowering action against this inhumanity through education, recovery and life reclamation!" For this mission to succeed it requires money, donations and people coming together and although the topic is often hard to talk about and it's something we wish didn't exist, it won't stop if we close our eyes or ignore the problem. Last year I did a live video around the data and hard core facts linked to child trafficking which you can watch below but this year we took it a step further and I did an interview with Officer Marc Marty better known as @iDigitalCop on social on what parents can if their child goes missing and what we as a community can do to make social media and the digital world a safer place for children. FOMOfanz is about turning FEAR into JOY and I believe we can do just that by educating people on this important topic. Links Mentioned during the show:  https://safesmartsocial.com/ www.uknowkids.com/ https://www.teensafe.com/ This interview was done to bring awareness to July 30th a day dedicated to educating the world about human trafficking known as "World Day against Trafficking in Persons"  World Day Against Trafficking In Persons is July 30th Human trafficking is a crime that exploits women, children and men for numerous purposes including forced labour and sex. The International Labour Organization estimates that 21 million people are victims of forced labour globally. This estimate also includes victims of human trafficking for labour and sexual exploitation. While it is not known how many of these victims were trafficked, the estimate implies that currently, there are millions of trafficking in persons victims in the world. (Read More here on the united nations webpage!) Please donate to Erase if you have the means to do so and at the very least share this podcast episode and post with your community so together we can educate, inspire and move one step closer to a country and world without human trafficking. www.erasechildtrafficking.org

We’re in the midst of digital content overload as we have more channels and types of content to consume than ever before.  I’m asked almost weekly by brands and entrepreneurs which should they create, a video blog or podcast. This question is an interesting one as I’ve been a podcast host for 4 years and currently host two podcasts while also being an evangelist for live video creating over 1800 live streams in the last 2 years.  You could say I’m stuck in the middle as the recording of this podcast is also live streamed on Facebook Live and Periscope before being stripped from the video and uploaded as a podcast. To answer this question I took to the app Anchor.FM which recently added a new feature allowing it’s users to upload episodes they create on Anchor to a podcast available in Apple Podcasts and Google Play with the push of one button.  This feature is exciting as creating podcasts has always been a painful process especially for those that aren’t technology savvy.     Beyond being able to push one button and upload a podcast, the idea of including listeners soundbites, what Anchor calls “Call-ins”, makes Anchor the best option for creating what I call participatory content.  Why is this important?  You’ll have to listen to this episode to find out. Questions answered during this show: Vlog Video Blog vs Podcasting? Why do I live stream the recording of my podcast on Facebook Live & Periscope? How to measure success of a vlog vs podcast? What is Anchor.FM and what value does it provide? What is the future of content marketing for brands and entrepreneurs? I moderated this discussion and we covered a wide range of topics from digital advertising, future of video, live streaming, augmented and virtual reality as well as an in depth discussion on how a mortuary could leverage digital storytelling and video.  This discussion was so much fun and had so many insights I thought it had to be shared with you the FOMOFanz podcast community.    Innovation Congress is the first event of it’s kind happening in NYC July 18-19th founded by Jeremy Goldman, Nicole D’Alonzo, Jason Keath and Amelia Tran.  The event is bringing together some of the most innovative minds in the world and is combination product of the Firebrand Group and Social Fresh team. $200 OFF: Also the team at Innovation Congress is offering $200 off the ticket price and free access to the workshops happening on July 18th if you use this code here:  https://2017.innovationcongress.org/?promo=fanzo Make sure to follow my two amazing guests as well as the event pages below: Melanie Deziel: http://mdeziel.com/ https://twitter.com/mdeziel Nick Cicero: http://delmondo.co/ https://twitter.com/nickcicero Social Fresh: https://twitter.com/socialfresh https://www.facebook.com/social.fresh/ Firebrand https://twitter.com/FirebrandGrp https://www.facebook.com/firebrandgrp/ Innovation Congress: https://2017.innovationcongress.org/?promo=fanzo https://www.facebook.com/innocongress/ About the Innovation Congress event: Innovation Congress by Social Fresh, in special partnership with Firebrand Group, is July 18-19 at The New School in NYC. How do I make sure the right audience is reading my content?  How do I make sure my customers see what I’m posting on social media?  How much is too much content and what social networks should I be on for my company and my personal brand? For me answering these questions requires a business reply not a social media or marketing answer.  For each social network, for each piece of content and for each type of account we must first decide what success looks like, identify individual goals and link that to the tools and platforms we have available.   Attention Hacking is part 3 of the big picture when it comes to digital storytelling.. Philosophy: #ThinkLikeAFan Mindset: #BeYourself Strategy: #AttentionHack I challenge every FOMOfanz podcast listener to spend time listening and leveraging the data available to us online then highlight the right-time as determined by your audience and provide as much value as you possibly can… The results I promise will surprise you.   If you’re interested in having me speak at your event or create a workshop for your company please email me at Fanzo@iSocialFanz.com and make sure to visit www.iSocialFanz.com What is the FOMOfanz Podcast:I love technology and change but I’ve learned that not everyone does!  So I launched FOMOFan where I translate geek-speak and give you insights and updates with whats going on with the latest gadgets, technology, social media trends and more.  My mission is to help cure your FOMO ultimately helping you enjoy a life full of the “Fun of Missing Out” or better yet JOMO “Joy of Missing Out”  View all the episodes and show notes at http://www.FOMOFanz.live

Since being diagnosed ADHD at 31 years old I've made it my mission to be transparent and upfront about the impact of being diagnosed has had on me personally as a Dad and my entrepreneurship journey.  I firmly believe that as we become more transparent as a digital culture the value of owning our own individual vulnerabilities will be directly linked to our individual success as well as our relatability to the community. I've always enjoyed being the champion of the outcasts, tapping into my ability to debunk myths and disrupt the status quo by allowing people to stereotype or have a preconceived notion of who we are or what we’re about only to prove they couldn't have been more wrong. During my BeYourself keynote I share that I was diagnosed ADHD and currently take adderall I usually get 1 of 3 responses: WOW, I can’t believe he just shared that so openly with the world! Yeah I think everyone has a little bit of ADHD especially entrepreneurs That makes sense Brian has all the signs of someone with ADHD.  Interestingly enough being diagnosed with ADHD at 31 years old had a massive impact on me and it isn’t for the reasons you might think.  I believe what ADHD taught me is what all leaders who have found success discover at some point in their career.   As I shared on this episode my BeYourself: Monetizing Your Personal Brand course is the playbook I used to grow my brand from less than 3k in 2013 to over 300k in 2017.   Over 75k people watched the live streams of FOMOFanz.  Join the live show on Facebook Live, Periscope or YouTube. Stop COLLABORATE and LISTEN! On this episode we welcome a new sponsor IOGRAPHER who make the iPhone case that I leverage for all of my live streaming video.   Giving away an iOgrapher case and 1 Vlog Like A Boss book by Amy Schmittauer  Tweet out: "I'm listening to #FOMOFanz podcast and want to win an @Iographer case & Vlog Like A Boss book"  I believe in the power of collaboration and often give a keynote called "We > Me" so on this episode I broke down the 10 keys to driving collaboration success!   Don’t throw technology at a people problem Sharing of knowledge requires a mindset shift, don’t force this change TEACH it! Celebrate collaboration success stories demonstrating productivity and value gained compared to doing it the old way. Create procedures and policies that allow digital dinosaurs and digital natives to meet in the middle. Incentivize managers to redefine workflow and key performance indicators to include collaboration tasks and goals. Create a culture of collaboration by including collaboration practices in everyday tasks such as meetings, group messaging, conference calls, document sharing and company wide announcements. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) adoption of collaboration tools must focus on simplification of basic tasks as the mindset shift is massive therefore the technology must increase productivity not add steps or time. Establish an emotional intelligence baseline as with increased transparency and trust comes more exposure of mistakes therefore everyone on the team must understand the proper way to encourage continued collaboration after mistakes are exposed. Define collaboration long term goals but include short term wins that allow for group validation to motivate and inspire the team both inward and outward. Re-evaluate tools and technology on a regular basis as today’s collaboration tools are now growing beyond a singular SaaS based solution to include artificial intelligence, hardware integration. Collaboration is nothing new and most organizations today understand the importance of teamwork and departments and business partners working together to reach mutual goals.  More and more often the adoption of collaboration tools and strategies is driven by the fact that millennials now make up over 50% of the current workforce and are traditionally the biggest champions of collaborative work environments.  Although collaboration is seen as an essential element within today’s business culture many companies still lack the key components to drive change.  On this episode Brian and Dan change up the time and day they record and I have a feeling you’re going to LOVE the SMAC results. The topic started off debating how new media needs old marketing skills and old marketing needs to embrace new media marketers but then things took off. Based on the live viewers feedback, Brian and Dan might need to switch to recording at night because this was a passion filled 40 mins that you’ll need to hold onto your seats to enjoy. Some of the takeaways from this episode: Faster Marketing is the current trend Live Video is growing and changing the game both for good and bad What new problems result with new media Brian stated: “I’ve been evangelizing for people to create a bunch of crap content!”  Brian used the Facebook 360 and Discovery channel collaboration as an example of even with good content, good technology and good brands doesn’t guarantee the content won’t suck. Importance of understanding the basics of marketing so that you can stay in business and market new technology like IoT, AR, VR and other innovations. Brian and Daniel might be millennials but they took a hardline at calling out those that are just broadcasting and screaming on every channel and they feel bad for today’s business owner as it’s hard to find and filter the noise of who good marketers are. Adobe Chat (Adobe sponsor of SMACtalk) was mentioned as the twitter chat topic was about the changing TV ads and Marketing in 2017. Daniel gave shoutouts to Gary Vaynerchuk, Marcus Sheridan and Jay Baer on how they’ve created brands and messaging around true and tried marketing tactics not fluff or social media vanity. Importance of defining success and working towards business goals no matter if it's live streaming, snapchat, 360 video or an email marketing campaign. Brian launched a new podcast two weeks ago called FOMOfanz but in this episode Dan makes it a point to mention how Brian links a strategy and business goal to everything he does although big name marketers in the industry might not realize that.   There is so much more in this episode and much of it might surprise you or cause you to rewind but there is no doubt that the late night podcast recording brought the passion, the rants and a longer episode than SMACtalk normally.   Watch the live recording of the show here: https://www.facebook.com/iSocialFanz/videos/712131435601318/   What is SMACtalk Live: For an audience looking for a business centric multimedia experience on the topics of Social, Mobile, Analytics, and Cloud, they will have to look no further than to S.M.A.C.talk LIVE.
