"Color is a power which directly influences the soul." ~ Wassily Kandinsky Guest Introduction:   Welcome to another episode of Exploring the Seasons of Life, a podcast for women with a big heart on a spiritual journey. Self-love, well-being and mindset are at the heart of our conversations. Because once you change the inside, the outside will begin to change as well. I'm your host Cindy MacMillan and I'm so grateful that you tuned in today; it means a lot to me. If you love this conversation and you want to continue it or want to share your thoughts, your takeaways, or just any aha's that come up…come on over to Instagram. That is where I spend most of my time when it comes to social media. I'm @cindy.macmillan on Instagram. Make sure you're following me. Say hello. I'd love to hear from you. Friends, Do you ever feel like you are waiting on a permission slip to live the life you want? If you answered yes, then you are in the right spot. Each week I interview spiritual explorers, amazing coaches and essential oil enthusiasts from all walks of life about beginnings, endings and the messy bits in between. In this episode of Exploring the Seasons of Life, we are chatting about why color is such a powerful force in our lives, and the shadow side of color.  And my guest is Mindy Schrager. Mindy is an ICF PCC credentialed coach, Integrative Coach, Systemic Facilitator, and Aura-Soma practitioner with a passion for transformational work. Her experience and transformational training has been focused on creating positive change in life and business experiences (i.e. shadow, family DNA) for herself and her clients. Mindy loves to shine the light on hidden patterns and the root cause of dysfunction and then help you create new pathways to growth.  Here's a glimpse of our conversation: Welcome to the show, Mindy. Thank you for being here.  2:56 Things I was unaware of when I was younger have come clearly into view. I see it in my coaching practice, when a major life transition such as becoming an empty nester or going through a divorce or moving into retirement. They're all indicators of a new season beginning. And it reminds me also of a bottle of Aura-Soma, which is called New Message, where people oftentimes are seeking a new expression of themselves as they move into a different season of their life.  5:26 All of them actually focus on the gifts and lessons and hidden patterns, the choice to create new pathways, and the letting go of what no longer serves us. The more of this work that I did, the more of the transformational work that I did, the less my corporate work, energized me, as I really shifted to a new level of passion for helping individuals change and grow within themselves and also in their relationship with others. 8:03 For me, self-care also includes being open to learning, reassessing our relationships, and other aspects of our lives to ensure they're still in alignment. Decluttering and organizing our space so it's in harmony with our life and incorporating downtime and fun in order to feed our soul.  16:24 Color really shows up in many different ways as a way for us to express ourselves.  16:49 Color has many different meanings, so just like shadow work, some of the meanings are more positive than others. For instance, think about the color yellow, you might think about a sunflower dancing in the sun. But on the other side of yellow, we use the phrase yellow bellied for someone who is cowardly.  21:23 So for me, the biggest surprise is seeing just how much the shadow appears not only in integrative coaching, but in looking at family patterns, and looking at Aura-Soma.  You can find Mindy Schrager at:  Website IF YOU LOVED THIS CONVERSATION WITH MINDY SCHRAGER YOU'LL ALSO LOVE THE CONVERSATIONS I HAD WITH: Niki Svara on Self-Forgiveness Nicole Baker on Perfectionism Deanne Rose on Owning and Trusting our Sexual Energy Bonus Episode: Essential Oils Made Easy with Dr. Laura Ricci 4 Self-Care Practices for the Mind with Jill Krzyzanowicz That brings us to the end of this episode! “As each day dawns, pure sunlight sparkles in dewdrops, shimmering on the grass, and on the leaves and flowers of the world.” ~ Valerie Ann Wormwood Guest Introduction: Welcome to another episode of Exploring the Seasons of Life, a podcast for women with a big heart on a spiritual journey. My name is Cindy MacMillan. Each week, I interview coaches, spiritual explorers and essential oil educators from all walks of life about beginnings, endings and the messy bits in-between. Self-love, well-being, and mindset are at the heart of our conversations because once you change the inside, the outside will begin to change as well.  This is a bonus episode of the podcast – And it's a replay of a workshop that was held on July 16, 2022. Hello, Hello and welcome to Essential Oils Made Easy. My name is Cindy MacMillan; I'm an Integrative Coach and host of Exploring the Seasons of Life podcast. I'm a mom, Gigi, and partner to Andre and I have many interests that are reflected on the podcast and essential oils are one of those interests that I am incredibly passionate about. I am so happy you are here. And a big hello to everyone watching or listening to the recording at a later date. Today's workshop is packed with valuable and important information, and you are going to want to take notes. We are so fortunate to have Dr. Laura Ricci with us today. Dr. Ricci is a doctor of physical therapy, a national board certified health & wellness coach, and an essential oil educator & leader with doTERRA. She is passionate about empowering women to reclaim their health & wellness. Dr. Laura and I have been “friends” on social media for several years and I would read her posts and watch her reels but Dr. Laura I think I really got invested in YOU as a person when you were working through a hip surgery. By that I mean you weren't just someone I was scrolling by BUT Dr. Laura the woman. I remember thinking; wow this woman is resilient and vulnerable and inspirational. Not only that, but your content is so educational and I am excited to have you here today as my Essential Oil mentor to teach this class. Here's a glimpse of the Workshop: 3:01 I'd like you to start by just thinking about what are your top three health concerns? What brought you to this class, or what made you curious about oils, and you can type them into the chat and share with us if you want. I'll say I'll share mine if you share yours. So many years ago, when I first started with oils, I was really struggling with digestive issues with really bad head tension and with sleep. And I was looking for solutions for those things. 4:06 What's important about essential oils is quality and purity. So I know and love and trust doTERRA essential oils, they are Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® and they are very potent. 10:21 So let's talk a little bit about the three ways to use essential oils. First step is aromatic. This is going to be the best to support your emotions and your mood, it's going to cleanse and purify the air. And it's also going to support your respiratory system. 11:22 This is why you can smell something and think of your grandmother cooking or a childhood memory can pop in, it's a direct link into the central nervous system. So when we're wanting to help calm down the central nervous system, calm down stress, sense of smell is very powerful. And I actually love to combine it with music; to make it even more powerful. That's another link into the central nervous system. So diffuse some oils, put on some calming music, these are great ways to help reduce stress and cortisol and help you to feel your best. 30:59 The oils can support us physically, but they also support us emotionally, as we mentioned, affecting the limbic system. So when you inhale, it does this dance through your neuroanatomy, it's kind of powerful, having that impact on your central nervous system. And this book goes into great, great detail about all of the emotional aspects of using the essential oils, which is really key. It's pretty amazing. I will say I came to the world of essential oils for physical support but it's been the emotional piece that's become my favorite way to use the oils. 32:07 There are several oils that can help with thyroid support. Frankincense is one - Lavender, Peppermint and Lemongrass I actually like to make a roller bottle with those for thyroid, apply it right over the thyroid morning and night can be really key. From an emotional standpoint, which is really fascinating, Lavender is the Oil of Communication and when we're talking throat chakra, and being able to speak, Lavender aids with verbal expression and calms the mind, specifically those who feel they're at risk of sharing their true thoughts and feelings. And so this actually helps with expression. IF YOU LOVED THIS EPISODE WITH DR. After all, mind and body are inextricably linked: to develop one, you must cultivate the other. Reaching an optimal mind-body balance in a world that keeps pushing the mind above everything else and numbing our senses through constant daily stresses, information overload and digital overexposure can become a challenge. Hi Guys and Gals!Meet Evacheska de'Angelis - Healing Intuitive, Mindfulness Practitioner, & Spiritual GuideWe dove right in on this episode and started talking about the sacred plant and brew ayahuasca. The spirit of the plant opens gateways in our consciousness, when drunk ceremonially, under the guidance of a trained shaman. One can learn astonishing new ways of perceiving reality and one's relationship to reality. The Conversation Starts at 7:35A little bit about Evacheska....Based out of New York, Evacheska has dedicated her energy and life's work to creating and holding space for the facilitation of healing and expansion. She leverages her multisensory perception abilities to create distinctive experiences focused on supporting each participant's internal work. She is a certified Mindfulness and Meditation facilitator, Integrative Coach, Trauma and Somatics Practitioner, and Psych-K® facilitator. From a very young age, she has been aware of energetic fields, and her deep intuition and sensitivity have been passed down from mother to daughter as the first born of the first born for many generations. While she greatly learned how to hold space from intimately observing her parents' work in similar fields, she is currently expanding her knowledge base via the pursuit of a degree in psychology at CUNY, as well as continuing her ongoing studies of the power of plant medicines, of which she has worked with many. Incorporated into the work of Sotto Luce is the belief in the intersection of spirituality and science: that which we can see and that which we can not. Evacheska and the Sotto Luce team currently lead seminars on Quantum Time Manifestation, and Harnessing Personal Power, and Mindfulness Meditation and Medicine Music circles. Within the Sotto Luce offerings, you can also find Women's Circles and Men's Circles focused on Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine embodiment, respectively. Evacheska also offers one-on-one guidance through Zoom, and in-person guidance for deeper Psyche-Spiritual ceremonial work. No matter how she is engaging in her work, her fundamental belief is that each individual has the power to heal themselves. Therefore, the purpose of Sotto Luce is simply to act as a conduit, supporting and guiding the innate transformational energies within us all.Evacheska's Website:  https://www.templesottoluce.com/temple-homeThe Jai Sugrim Method Podcast is sponsored by Commons CBDI use commons cbd daily to reduce exercise induced inflammation, as well as for good sleep. You can order Cannabis Products from Commons with my ambassador ink:www.commons.co/with/jsugrimTo train with Jai, and learn about his yoga classes and massage therapy treatments:www.jaisugrim.comTo support this podcast go to patreon:patreon.com/jaisugrimEnjoy and share this episode!May it bring you peace!

Let me start off by saying this interview did NOT go in the direction I thought it would. Lisa blew my mind with her insights and loving suggestions. She is a true healer and helper and I could not be more excited to share her with you! Back in 2014, Lisa had a blog post go viral: Raising Girls Who Are Includers Instead of Mean Girls (https://www.lisamccrohan.com/2014/09/raising-girls-who-are-includers-instead-of-mean-girls/) You’ve probably read it…it is still making the rounds on social media over 5 years later. Why? Because it’s an important topic that hits home for many of us. In this episode, Lisa and I dive deep and discuss: · What sparked Lisa to write this viral blog post · Our own personal journeys with bullying · How to parent through tough “mean kid” situations · Parenting when we feel triggered from our own past hurts · How not to raise mean kids · How not to be “mean moms” ourselves · How to raise kids who are includers · Specifics on how to be an includer & what each of her suggestions look like: o We hold o We include o We love o We empower o We regard o We model how to treat others Lisa holds nothing back in this episode! I knew this interview was going to be good, but Lisa took it to a whole new level just for us. She is passionate about compassion and it shines through big time! By 2008, I had proven to myself that the Medical Establishment was wrong and what I ate actually did have an effect on my digestive system’s health (Imagine that…).   After years and years of experimentation with a number of different approaches, I arrived at Paleo mostly by trial and error.   In 2008-2009, the Paleo community was large and visible enough – mostly thanks to CrossFit and Robb Wolf – that I was able to find my way full circle and embrace a Paleo lifestyle with a ton of Community support." - Adam Farrah Using Practical Spirituality In the age of over-information and radically packed family and work schedules, Adam has found personal and professional growth by using the power of what he calls "Quantum Evolution" in the vehicles of yoga, meditation, chakras, and tarots. For those of you out there who don’t know this, Nancy and I are actually quite good friends. Nancy lives in Boulder, so this is quite exciting for us to be talk and to be supporting her book launch at this point. It’s just so fun. NL: Thank you! CP: Yay! So I’m thinking that we should start with the title, and then maybe that will reveal more about your personal story and why you came to this. Jump … and Your Life Will Appear. When I first felt into that, first of all, I got scared, because I’m definitely one that feels like I need to feel safe before I do anything risky. And then the other piece was it was exciting, and [I] felt that it was perhaps the better way to go because no matter what, your life is coming anyway, so might as well jump in with two feet. So tell me a little bit about what you mean by the title, and how you came to this book. NL: Well, the title really came from the concept that—you mentioned feeling safe, and most of us feel safe in certainty, in what we know, and then what already is. And what I’m asking the readers to do is take a bit of a reframe and realize that there’s actually much more possibility and opportunity available when you actually jump out into uncertainty. Because that’s when your life has the power to change and you can live into a new way of being in the world. Our present is really a culmination of all of our past choices and decisions, and so in the present, we have the power to change our future by making different choices and different decisions. So in my own personal story, my Jump that weaves throughout the book is leaving an 18-year marriage. And for me, it was devastating. It was terrifying. It was unfathomable for a really long time, until I actually took the steps that are in this book. It wasn’t until after I was on the other side of it that I was able to look back and see, “Oh, here are the things I actually did that got me through this,” and then realize that they were actually applicable to other people in any other major change that they were making, whether it was changing a job or whether it was moving to a new city. And so it was important to me to document my own journey that way. So my story really began in that I was—even though in the outside world, I was projecting this image of perfection, and my motto had been, “Never let them see you sweat,” and I had been managing the perceptions of others and everyone thought I was happy and perfect and had this perfect marriage, and all of this, the truth was that things were really crumbling inside for me and in my home life.
