What would happen if your faith was put on trial? Would there be enough evidence to convict you of truly loving God? This thought-provoking episode challenges believers to examine the authenticity of their relationship with Christ beyond mere words or social media declarations. We often focus on how much God loves us – rightfully emphasizing John 3:16 and the sacrifice of Christ – but rarely turn the question around to ask ourselves: do we genuinely love God? And if so, what tangible evidence exists in our daily lives that would prove this love?Jesus stated it plainly: "If you love me, obey my commandments." This simple yet profound statement reveals that love isn't measured by feelings or declarations but through obedience. Many believers today fill churches without demonstrating this love through transformed lives. They resist challenges to live differently, approaching faith as a spectator sport rather than a life-changing relationship. The podcast offers five practical ways to demonstrate authentic love for God: prioritizing Him daily, choosing Him over convenience, serving His people (even when you don't feel like it), living with an eternal focus, and staying faithful during difficult seasons. Anyone can praise God when life is good, but love is proven in the fire – when prayers seem unanswered and challenges persist.Whether you're struggling with complacency in your faith or seeking to deepen your relationship with God, this message will challenge you to move beyond casual Christianity and embrace a faith that transforms every aspect of your life. What parts of your life are you still holding back? What might God be asking you to surrender today?Support the show
Can the trials and tribulations of daily life be a stepping stone towards a deeper faith journey? We explore this profound question with insights from Philippians 1:12-14, sharing personal stories from my life with my 16-year-old and 16-month-old children. Their unique challenges remind us of how every stage of life can test our patience and perspective, and how emotions like anger can be managed wisely for personal and spiritual growth.Listeners are invited to consider the alignment between their lifestyle choices and their spiritual values. By reflecting on my own decision to exclusively listen to Christian music, I encourage a conversation on how our entertainment choices can impact our faith. It's an invitation to evaluate the habits and influences we hold onto, and a call for a deeper relationship with God through consistent spiritual growth and letting go of past attachments.Through the biblical narratives of Paul and Joseph, we underscore the transformative power of perspective. Even in imprisonment, Paul saw opportunities to spread the gospel, and Joseph's trials brought him closer to his divine purpose. We emphasize trusting God's timing and using our challenges as testimonies of faith. By shifting our perspective, we can turn obstacles into opportunities for growth, recognizing that our trials may be steps toward fulfilling our divine calling.Support the show
Can alcohol be part of a Christian's life, or does faith ask us to abstain entirely? Join me as I unravel this age-old question through the lens of my own journey with alcoholism, shedding light on how self-control—a fruit of the Spirit—has become my guiding principle. We take a hard look at Ephesians 5:18, where the Apostle Paul cautions against drunkenness and its potential to lead lives astray. Our discussion navigates the varied perspectives within Christianity, from complete abstinence to moderation, and explores why I've chosen the former. Witness how alcohol, for some, can be a slippery slope, distorting virtues into vices and highlighting the necessity for thoughtful choices in line with faith. The episode also unpacks the delicate balance between consuming alcohol and maintaining a spiritually aligned life, emphasizing the stark distinction between moderation and excess. Romans 14:21 serves as a pivotal point, reminding us how our choices can influence the faith journey of others. We explore the vital roles of accountability, modesty, and wisdom, urging believers to wield their personal freedoms responsibly. Discover how living free through self-control can improve relationships and remove barriers, reinforcing a deeper connection with loved ones and God. Whether you're wrestling with similar struggles or simply seeking wisdom on this topic, tune in to enrich your understanding and embrace a life that honors both personal growth and spiritual integrity.Support the show
Ever wondered how a fisherman named Simon became one of the most influential figures in the early Christian church? By exploring the remarkable journey of Peter, we uncover profound lessons on faith, failures, and the role of the Holy Spirit in personal transformation. This episode shares insights from Peter's life, from his moments of denial to his ultimate redemption, offering a powerful narrative on embracing one's shortcomings as stepping stones toward growth. Listeners are invited to reflect on how their environment and the people around them can shape their paths, urging a pursuit of divine purpose over societal expectations. We then navigate the delicate terrain of accountability and forgiveness within a faith-based context. Through Peter's story of denial and the parallel tale of King David, we address the universal nature of human error and the potential for redemption that accountability offers. These narratives remind us that failure is not a dead end but an opportunity for spiritual and personal development. Our conversation highlights how embracing one's flaws and extending compassion to oneself and others can foster growth, encouraging a mindset that views setbacks as pivotal moments for learning and renewal. Finally, we witness the transformative power of grace in the restoration of Peter. When Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him, it wasn't just a moment of confrontation but an invitation to reclaim purpose. This episode emphasizes that forgiveness is not passive; it requires action and a commitment to living out one's restored purpose. We share personal stories of unexpected blessings, balancing family, business, and leadership, illustrating how our weaknesses can become strengths when aligned with divine calling. East Texas's wintry blanket may have cooled our plans, but it ignited an impromptu exploration into the resilience of the human spirit and mysteries of faith. Life's unexpected detours often lead to profound discoveries, much like the story we've been eager to share from Cassie and Jeff, a remarkable couple from my church. Their battle with COVID-19, particularly Cassie's severe illness and inspiring recovery, alongside Jeff's unwavering support, is a testament to the strength found in community and conviction. Their anticipated narrative has been momentarily delayed, yet it serves as a reminder that personal stories—like theirs—are the essence of our conversations here.Shifting focus, we examine the enigmatic "mark of the beast," a subject that stirs as much curiosity as caution. The Book of Revelation offers rich imagery, inviting listeners to reflect on the interplay between appearances and hidden truths, especially in the context of those who wield influence. As we navigate these scriptures, their implications ripple through our modern lives, provoking thought on commerce, authority, and faith. This episode isn't just a discussion; it's a journey through time-honored text that challenges believers and non-believers alike, with the promise of revisiting Cassie and Jeff's powerful account in a future conversation.Support the showSub to my RUMBLE: bit.ly/3OvIaVG
Discover why the latest social media controversy about Jesus being a witch is more than just a viral sensation; it's a call to deepen our understanding of faith and scripture. My transformation from a life entrenched in skepticism and waywardness to one of devout leadership sets the stage for a riveting discussion that will challenge your perspectives on hot-button theological issues. Brushing off the dust of misinterpretation, we firmly reject the scandalous assertion that Jesus was transgender, reinforcing the sanctity of Scriptural truths. As we navigate through these deep theological waters, we'll share personal accounts of faith, highlighting the significance of exegesis in understanding the Bible, and how it shapes our views on sexual ethics as aligned with God's original plan.As the weight of these discussions settles, we'll uplift spirits with some holiday warmth, reminiscing over cherished family traditions and the seasonal staple, "Mary, Did You Know?" Yet, the conversation doesn't end there. Brace yourselves for an intriguing preview on the divisive notion of being "trans-abled," and prepare for a chuckle or two with our satirical nod to current politics. Through the lens of faith, we scrutinize President Biden's policies and their alignment—or lack thereof—with Christian values, all while fostering a community that's both informed and engaged. Join us for a journey that promises laughter, introspection, and a hearty dose of reality.Support the showSub to my RUMBLE: bit.ly/3OvIaVG
As our world evolves, the narrative surrounding disability and identity takes on ever more intricate layers. We're peeling back those layers, bringing you a frank conversation that differentiates between the real challenges faced by disabled individuals and the burgeoning trend of a victim mentality, which sees the able-bodied adopting the controversial term "pre-disabled." The discussion cuts to the core of how this mindset may unintentionally undermine the genuine struggles of those with disabilities, while also exploring why some find allure in self-victimization. We dissect the implications on empowerment and victory, advocating for understanding yet questioning the psychological effects of adopting such identities. This episode also dares to navigate the murky waters of ideology and gender identity, critiquing the practice of altering one's body to align with perceived identities, exemplified by a woman's choice to blind herself. Here, we confront the role of medical professionals, the entanglement of leftist agendas, and the complex interplay between personal autonomy and societal expectations. As a Christian, I'm joined by fellow believers in questioning these evolving norms and advocating for a return to scriptural truths. We don't shy away from the tough conversations, examining where faith intersects with the rapidly shifting societal landscape, all the while championing direct access to God's grace in our modern world.Support the showSub to my RUMBLE: bit.ly/3OvIaVG
Can President Biden's impeachment proceedings teach us anything about the state of American politics? Our latest episode takes you on a journey through the treacherous waters of impeachment history, contrasting the attempts to dethrone Biden with those faced by former President Trump. We dissect not just the political mechanisms but delve into the philosophical underpinnings of leadership—both spiritual and political. I'll share my insights on the critical issue of term limits, drawing from Biblical narratives like Adam and Eve to illustrate the innate human struggle with power. And for those still captivated by the Trump era, I confront the complex matter of loyalty and patriotism, dissecting what it truly means to support a leader. This episode doesn't shy away from the enigmatic union of faith and politics as I scrutinize Donald Trump's purported Christian journey. Has Norman Vincent Peale's influence shaped Trump beyond his business acumen, into his spiritual beliefs? This question leads us to ponder the authenticity of a leader's faith and its role in guiding a nation. We dive deep into Trump's interactions with religious figures and the echoing voices of his supporters, examining whether his faith is a deeply woven thread in the fabric of his leadership or merely a tapestry for the public eye.Wrapping up, we zoom in on the magnifying glass over Trump's acceptance of Christianity's core tenet—the need for a savior. Without a public declaration of faith from Trump himself, we're left to speculate and analyze the breadcrumbs of his religious evolution throughout his presidency. I encourage our listeners to reflect on their own spiritual values and how they intersect with their political choices. As an added bonus, I spotlight a YouTube channel that champions biblically sound content, inviting our audience to join a broader theological discussion. This episode promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the intricate tapestry of faith, power, and politics.Support the showSub to my RUMBLE: bit.ly/3OvIaVG

SummaryIs heaven real? Jesus says it is and he wants each one of us to become a part of his family and live with him for eternity. IntroductionIs heaven real? Jesus says it is. He describes the Kingdom of Heaven in many different ways. But in the passage we are looking at this week, he uses three tangible similes to help us. Is Heaven Real? As real as a tree!Jesus speaks of the Kingdom of Heaven as being like a mustard seed that grows into a tree. Trees are real and so is heaven. One day, you and I are going to die. We were not made to live on Earth forever. Like the birds that come and make nests in the branches of the mustard tree, if we have accepted Christ, one day we will go to live in heaven, with God, for eternity. Is Heaven Real? As real as a treasure or valuable pearlJesus also speaks of the Kingdom of Heaven like a treasure hidden in a field or a pearl of great value. Treasures and pearls are real too. If we found one like the people in Jesus' stories, we too would sell all we had to obtain them. Heaven is also real, and requires us to make the same real choice. Will we give up all we have to accept Christ and accept that heaven is real? The Invitation is for YouIs heaven real? Jesus says it is and he wants each one of us to become a part of his family and live with him for eternity. The invitation is yours. Have you accepted it yet? The most difficult part of the work of a gospel preacher is to get people to stop. Even for a moment. To get them to press the 'pause' button of their lives and consider the essential issues of what their lives are all about - questions like - Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going? Today's message comes from a jail cell, from a young man about to go out to die. We would do well to hear what he says about life, death, and eternity.
Welcome back to the show. Guys. Today's episode is titled Is Heaven Real, and I can't wait to share it with you. If you have been crushed by life, and you're not sure if there's anything past the physical part of what we can see in the here and now, this episode is for you. We mentioned two authors during the episode. I want to give you that information, one is Lee Strobel, he's written the Case for Christ and the Case for Heaven. His whole career was an investigative journalist. He decided to research the biblical claims about Jesus because his wife became a Christian. His story is incredible because he was not a happy man, when his wife became a Christian. He wasn't planning on that when they got married, but because of that, he began to do some research. Prompted by his investigation, he became a Christian at the age of 29. Lee Strobel is a detailed oriented person who will share exactly how he came to his conclusions. The second author that I mentioned is John Burke. He is a New York times bestselling author of Imagine Heaven. That's the book that I referenced today and it's based on near-death experiences. I have read that book as well as the Case for Heaven, and I was intrigued so much by them. That is where this episode was born from. He also authored No Perfect People Allowed, Soul Revolution and Unshockable Love. As an international speaker, he has been to 20 different countries teaching on leadership and spiritual growth. He started out his investigation as an agnostic. Through that investigation he became a believer in Christ. He is an engineer and has the mind of a scientist. So for him, he had to prove that Jesus and God and Heaven all existed through the lens of science. If that's how your mind works, this book is for you. I will share both of those books and their links in the show notes. And also guys, I have written a book called Finding Hope and Healing in the Midst of Grief. It is based on my spiritual journey after the death of my son, Andrew. It's written in the form of a devotion book because I found my answers in the word of God. I will take you on the spiritual journey that I was taken on to be able to understand and get answers to my questions. I will show you what I learned through the eyes of grief. My guest is Brian Combs. And , I can't wait for you to hear what he has to say.
