You can find it on our YouTube channel here:A Morocco Travel Itinerary That's Made for Photographers!----Photographer and dedicated world traveller John Hernandez joins Azdean today to share his inspiring travel experience to Morocco, with an emphasis on photography. John recently travelled from Tangier, down through Chefchaouen, Fes (visiting Volubilis on the way), then Marrakech, the High Atlas Mountains, Essaouira and the Agafay Desert. This two week trip gave him enough time to get to know a few different places throughout the country, while not feeling rushed, something helped in turn by flying from Fes to Marrakech and thus saving the six hour drive.John delves into rich cultural interactions, including playing with musicians in the desert, captivating street scenes and amazing street food, staying in stunning riads (particularly in Fes), discovering pleasantly surprising local wine, incredible coffee, fresh olives and olive oil, leather goods and crafts, and picturesque landscapes that are a photographer's dream. A key concern for any photographer or videographer is of course the safety and security of their gear. John felt very safe throughout Morocco, particularly in Fes, which had a more relaxed vibe, and is less subjected to the buzz of motorbikes everywhere. Marrakech is however well-known for this scourge, and Azdean does include a warning to hold your items a little closer when you're in the souks there, lest they get snapped off your shoulder as a scooter whizzes by!Ultimately, John emphasizes the importance of immersing oneself in the local culture to truly appreciate and capture the essence of Morocco through photography. Take the time to chat with locals, wander at your own pace, give yourself free time and flexibility in your itinerary. Hire a local guide with the instructions to really get past the tourist stereotypes and uncover the true story of a place. As John says, "The only way this planet's gonna survive if we can get out of our own way and start connecting with folks from different cultures and learning. Because ultimately we all want the same thing. Punk rock will never die!But punk rockers sure do.Plus they are delicious. In UNCLE PECKERHEAD (currently streaming on Prime, Hulu, Sling TV and The Roku Channel), a fledging punk band starting out on their first tour discovers their new hot Southern daddy roadie is also a man-eating...thing.They also discover...that's not a dealbreaker. On the surface, "Uncle Peckerhead" is a delightfully fun, gory, campy, feel-good rock 'n roll road trip movie with a ton of genuine heart that's shockingly queer positive! But lurking deep underneath all that sweet Southern charm is an insidiously wicked "deal with the devil" Faustian pact story. And Judy and her band are about to learn that when you bargain with the devil, he ALWAYS gets his due...My very special guests this episode are the editor of Bear World Magazine and Stan the Mechanics' alter ego, JOHN HERNANDEZ, and co-creator and star of "Good Cops" and "I Had a Bloody Good Time at House Harker", DEREK HAUGEN.UNCLE PECKERHEAD was written & directed by MATTHEW JOHN LAWRENCE and stars DAVID LITTLETON, CHET SIEGAL, JEFF RIDDLE and RUBY McCOLLISTERLinks referenced in this episode:univozpods.netbearworldmag.comstanthemecanic.compatreon.com/screamqueenzbit.ly/joinSQclubThis podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Podtrac - https://analytics.podtrac.com/privacy-policy-gdrp

This week’s very special guest is Black Belt Martial Artist and CCL firearms instructor Mr. John Hernandez.
In our series on the Archetypes, I wanted to talk with John Hernandez about Alchemy … what it is, how it relates to the conversations we're having about the archetypes and the axis mundi, and how we can begin to be the ‘Hollow Bone' to get more intuitive information in our everyday lives. This is looking at the topic from a new perspective, filling in some more of the nuance, and relating our archetypal work to the world of alchemy … permanent transformation. The biggest message here … YOU have what you need. This episode is for you if you're interested in getting more useful daily practices for integrating the axis mundi into your life and becoming more of the archetypal and integral wizard in your world.Loved John? Eurico Rosa de Silva is a Brazilian native who is best known for his outstanding career as a jockey in Canada where he won two Queen's Plates and was the leading rider at Woodbine for seven seasons, including five consecutive years until his retirement in 2019. He is now a life coach for several professional athletes. There were many diverse roads and obstacles this talented reinsman took to the eventual successes of his career and they are revealed in his recently published book – “RIDING FOR FREEDOM.” Born on a dairy farm in rural Brazil, Da Silva determined at an early age that he would become a champion jockey. This is the story of Da Silva's battle with his demons. While it describes his ascent to the highest ranks of his athletic profession, it also lays bare his struggle to heal the emotional scars inflicted by an absent and negligent father and his victory over the forces that threatened at time to end his life. Fourth of July weekend will be sparkling with competitive action from sea to shining sea and plenty of reasons to pull down the E-Z Win Forms at Winningponies. The picnic starts on Friday in Altoona, Iowa at Prairie Meadows where they will fire off three rich stakes races – the G3 $225,000 Iowa Oaks; $250,000 Iowa Derby and the continuance of the G3, $300,000 Cornhusker Handicap, a race that has attracted Knicks Go. Participating in the evening fireworks will be the likes of jockeys Florent Geroux, Jose Ortiz, Joel Rosario, Ricardo Santana, Junior Alvarado and trainers Brad Cox, Steve Asmussen, Bill Mott and Mike Maker to name a few. John Hernandez will join our “Regular Guy” to give us the best bets from central Iowa. John Hernandez has been in and around horse racing for almost 40 years now. The late, great West Coast publicist Nat Wess hired him for his first job in the business for the inaugural Fall-Winter meeting at Hollywood Park in 1981. He was the “press box steward” and for $50 bucks a day, he was rubbing elbows with the likes of Gordon Jones, Ernie Mason, Harry Henson, Joe Hirsch, and many others while watching some great races there. He also worked for Trackmaster in the early days of their business in the 1990s, traveling the Eastern seaboard doing on-track seminars for their hand-held telephone modem device that was sort of like “the next gen Mattel Horse Racing Analyzer.” John has been with Prairie Meadows for over a decade, where he serves as the track handicapper and television commentator.

Join us for episode 23 where Pierre and Beautiful J are back to settle the best fast food debate. We continue the podcast with the infamous pechuga story and how our mom lost her damn mind over some grilled chicken. Beautiful J tells us the story of when she was a bad friend and took a picture of DontSay pooping in a stall. Of course Pierre had some awkward food moments and might I say homo moments, he tells us about the time he accidentally kissed his childhood friend John Hernandez and how they went skinny dipping alone under the moonlight at 3:00 am. We have all agreed that there is no excuse for John to not do manscaping. We saved the best story for last, that’s right we go into every detail about the Patches O’Hooligan story, and why that is Pierre’s new nick name! We missed BJ being on this episode because we needed lots of fact checking! Dave and Evan chat with John Hernandez, the CEO of Selligent. John Hernandez is well known in the communications industry as a contact center pro. In August of 2017, he took those skills to Selligent, a marketing cloud. Selligent leverages automation and AI to improve the customer experience. Selligent's marketing platform provides a cohesive, flexible platform designed for agile, marketers. Seligent's services are complementary to both CRM and contact center initiatives. While there are indeed other marketing clouds, and while some contact center solutions understand rudimentary marketing, Selligent offers a powerful integrated solution. Under Hernandez's leadership, Selligent has created alliances with Cisco, Genesys, Five9, and NICE. Prior to Selligent, Hernandez was the COO and SVP, Service Cloud at Salesforce. He has the experience and vision to navigate Selligent thru its rapid growth. Before Salesforce, John served as VP and GM of IBM's collaboration business. Prior, Hernandez served as a VP and GM within Cisco's Collaboration business, where he created the Customer Collaboration Strategy. You can follow John on Twitter.
John Hernandez is Owner and Partner at On Advertising, a marketing and advertising agency that has, over the past 26 years, rebranded itself, leveraged “new identities,” survived a recession, and increased and changed its client base. In this interview, John talks about his company's “humble beginnings” and reveals the strategic decisions that helped it grow. Ron Meritt, a television meteorologist, started NPR Public Relations in 1993 as a side gig. He provided traditional PR for nonprofit organizations . . . working out of his house with 1 client. In 2002, John accepted Ron's invitation to join the business and quit his job at the television station. They took out an SBA loan to cover payroll, rebranded the company as PRfect Media, and offered a flat fee “one-stop-shop for everything” marketing solution for small businesses. In addition to traditional marketing services – billboards, TV, radio, PR, and support – they utilized video, a technology application new for marketing. John's television-world experience – in graphic design and in scripting, shooting, and editing video – provided a differentiating and cost-saving advantage for both the agency and its clients: They didn't need to hire outside firms for those services. Six or seven years ago, the agency was doing a lot of non-traditional work, but people on the outside perceived them as a traditional PR firm. What to do? How about doing the same thing the agency would do for its clients? John and Ron tasked the agency's employees to rebrand the company and On Advertising was born: The employees set the color palette, the logo, and the brand. In a bold move, the agency took out a revolving loan and relocated the company from a commercial building in the Phoenix suburbs to a downtown high-rise, putting their signage on a street with heavy traffic all through the day. That move almost doubled their business: they were now visible, accessible, and re-defined. John says On Advertising has two growth strategies: to build the business organically and to expand its client base and capabilities through mergers and acquisitions. The agency still maintains its revolving credit line to even out the cash flow and to facilitate these acquisitions and mergers. John lists a number of keys to On Advertising's success: He believes the company gets traction as long as it treats itself as a client: spending money on itself; boosting its website presence, Google Analytics, and social media presence; and embracing media marketing technology. He emphasizes that it is as critically important to have “trustworthy team members on the outside” (CPA, attorneys, PEO) as it is to have good employees. And, to weather a recession, as this company did in 1987-88: John recommends developing multiple streams of income. John can be reached on his company's website at: https://onadvertising.com/
