You don't find many traditional songs where the woman becomes pregnant out of wedlock and yet it all turns our wonderfully. But then Willy O' Winsbury is not your run of the mill folk song. King's daughter Janet knew what she wanted… and it seems that her father wanted it too. Once he'd established that Willy wasn't too foreign that is. He especially noticed his blond hair and milky white skin… oh dear.As well as picking up on some of these themes, the episode looks at the twists and turns of this song's journey over time and the real events that may (or may not) have prompted it. There's also a review of medieval virginity tests and musings on why a light scorching of the nether regions might actually be a good outcome, all things considered. One of the best things about ska is that it's such a flexible genre. You can mix it with soul music, black metal, or anything in-between. There have even been different artists that have mixed electronic music with ska over the years, but now Eichlers is taking the weirdo, Avante-Garde-meets-pop sensibilities of Hyperpop and using that as a foundation for what he's calling "Hyperska." What does hyperska (or even Hyperpop for that matter) sound like? You're going to have to listen to our interview with the subgenre's innovator to find out. We talk to Russ Wood (aka Eichlers) about his influences, which includes 100 gecs, Joan of Arc, El Ten Eleven, Johnny Foreigner, The Matches, Slapstick, Spraynard, Vantana Row, and much more. We also learn about his time in the San Jose punk scene (The same scene that Adam and Aaron used to be part of with their band Gnarboots). Russ also apologizes to Mike Park for being a picky eater while he was interning at Asian Man Records, and Adam spits a killer Boboso verse about toast. Be sure to check out Eichlers new record on Bad Time Records. It features guest appearances by Skatune Network, Tape Girl, Boboso, and even our own beloved co-host, Adam Davis.Check out Hey Coffee at heycoffeeco.com and get fresh, sustainably sourced coffee mailed to your door. The number one habit that determines the difference between a winner and loser. ㅤ ... ㅤ Edited by: @benlionelscott Spoken by: Andy Frisella Footage by: DIGITAL STRAIK, jesse aragon, Jakob Knutsson, Sam Nixon, Felix Umarov, Justaddsugar, The Standard Society, Stacy Gallo Casting, ANDREAS ROTH, Adrian Lopez, Michael Peters, Simon Lane, Noble Jones, Alan Alves, JUNK FILMS, Johnny Foreigner, William DeSena, Johnny Foreigner, Jakob Knutsson, jesse aragon Music: Really Slow Motion and Giant Apes - Element of Surprise ㅤ ... ㅤ The actual pursuit of success begins with a principal that is so uncool and so unsexy, but so absolutely indispensable that people don't believe it's the actual key to success. Here it is. You have to master the monotonous. It's the boring sh*t, it's the everyday sh*t, it's the regular sh*t, it's the sh*t that you do everyday that 99% of you motherf*ckers think doesn't matter. You've gotta master the monotonous in order to become the ruler of your routine. It's the people who rule their routine, who lock in day in and day out, and do everything they can with pride, and do everything they can with care, and do everything they can to the best of their abilities, not the whiny cry baby, "I'm doing my best." I mean maximising their best. Those are the people who become successful, and guess what? That's hard. Because not always fun, and it is boring, and because it's boring, it causes us to lose the focus that we need to the win the f*cking day. There's no other proven process for producing exceptional results. And guess what? This process is guaranteed. You wanna guarantee to success? This is the only f*cking way there is. You have to master the day today. But most people don't look at success like that. They look at it like you do a few things, "I f*cking ate right for 3 days, why am I not a fitness model? I did my tasks that I needed to do, I sent 5 emails, I called 10 people, why am I not running a 10 million dollar company?" Because they don't understand what mastering the monotonous means. It means doing the sh*t that most people are too f*cking undisciplined to do, day in and day out, with perfection. Doing it better than everybody else, doing to to the best of your ability. And continuously expanding that ability so that you can continuously do a better job. You need to make it an issue of pride and competition for you. All these little things that you do during the day, you have to make it an opportunity to win, and not just win, but dominate. You will find your way if you cultivate that habit. So make it an issue of pride. "If I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it better than anyone." And if you wanna go out and build whatever kind of life you want, and if you're ambitious to the point where you're not satisfied with living the status quo bullsh*t, you've got to learn to master the sh*t that everybody else thinks is irrelevant.

The cake and bourbon show is upon us again. Our 72nd episode can be heard right here. In this week's show, we take a look at Sir Bill Jeffrey's review of independent criminal advocacy in England and Wales. It may be reopening an old front in the war between barristers and HCAs but the conclusions give considerable grounds for taking stock of the effects of all the reforms over the last 10 years. They also present a potentially chilling view of the future for anyone who fears change. Find the full report in the links below - along with the responses by the Bar Council and Law Society. The Land Registry might be next in terms of selling the family silver - at the very least, there are problems with the reform plans for the Keepers of the Plans.A pretty important costs case which confirms that the CPS and police cannot just blame each other to avoid costs orders and, more importantly, SNAFU is not a defence and neither is simple mistake.
