Blunderbolts? Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts has suffered another setback as Variety is reporting that Steven Yeun has exited the project. While The Walking Dead and Invincible star was never officially confirmed to be in the film by Marvel, he was heavily rumored to be playing the role of The Sentry. Said rumors culminated recently when Yeun's frequent collaborator Robert Kirkman seemingly ousted the casting news during a YouTube live stream. Additionally, Yeun himself commented on his departure, citing scheduling conflicts and a desire to reteam with Marvel on a future project. Joke's On You, Jo Koy Sunday night's 2024 Golden Globes ceremony marked a memorable occasion for the awards organization. Despite host Jo Koy's distractingly questionable antics, the first awards ceremony independent of the Hollywood Foreign Press managed to get a lot right, subjectively, in terms of the winners. Barbie saw the most nominations of any film and managed to secure two Golden Globes, while Oppenheimer garnered both the best motion picture in the drama category and directing awards for Nolan. In television, Succession and The Bear were named as the best drama and comedy series, respectively. Winners in the acting category include Lily Gladstone, Paul Giamatti, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Allen White, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Ayo Edebiri, Kieran Culkin, Ali Wong, Steven Yeun, and Matthew Macfadyen. MCU's Street-Level Legacy The latest trailer for Marvel Studios' Echo Disney Plus series has set the internet fandom ablaze as it seemingly officially canonized Netflix's Daredevil within the MCU. The trailer serves to emphasize the return of Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk to his rightful place as the criminal underworld's Kingpin and features black and white archival footage of the character from the Netflix's series' first season. Echo is now available to stream in its entirety at the time of this recording, but how do we feel about this confirmation? Does it hold water and if so, what's the impact for Marvel's onscreen street level heroes going forward or looking back?Mando and Grogu Hit the Big Time Star Wars fans, rejoice! A new movie is headed to theaters featuring everyone's favorite lone wolf and cub duo in a Jon Favreau-helmed film called The Mandalorian and Grogu. With production beginning this year, Favreau was quoted as being “extremely excited” to bring the stories he has created with Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy to theatrical screens with Kennedy saying it's a “perfect fit”. The Mandalorian tv show opened up a new era of Star Wars with new characters, bringing animated characters to live action, and expanding the world of Star Wars in general. The article on the Star Wars website also confirmed Ahsoka Season 2.

I assure you that is a compete fluke, we are in no way organised enough to plan these things!Banshees sees the In Bruges can team up once again to tell the story of a friendship gone sour. Were they able to repeat the success of their previous outing? The Hollywood Foreign Press certainly think so, but more importantly, what did Dan and Sidey think? We love to hear from our listeners! In a rather low key episode, Alex and Jim discuss NBC's motives behind not airing the Golden Globes in 2022. Is it because of the Hollywood Foreign Press's lack of diversity as they say or is it really because of plummeting ratings for the awards show? Paramount+ added 6 million subscribers while signing the production companies of John Krasinski and Ryan Reynolds to first-look deals. However, John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are currently in a heated dispute regarding bonuses and backend pay for 'A Quiet Place Part II' since it's theatrical window was cut in half by Paramount's new streaming strategy. The duo then analyze the 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage' trailer and lament its quality as well as the numerous symbiotes present in the Marvel universe. Father and son manage to include the casting additions of Edward Norton and Dave Bautista in the upcoming 'Knives Out' sequel before various tangents ensue. As always, enjoy.

PS - Who even is the Hollywood Foreign Press? Then the night brings the Jodie Foster / Aaron Rodgers storyline full circle, with an explanation from Cadillac Jack.  Caddy manifests some serious mojo, just asking the world to smite him with some sort of illness. Donna takes the time to really drill in what it means to “manifest" something into reality.  The following segment is about OnlyFans. It’s not what you think. Combining avocados, ASMR and lemonade. Caddy goes as far as classifying what kind of teases they are, from a production perspective.  For the final segment, Michael calls in. He lives in Chamblee and has been a listener for a long time, but most importantly he’s deep into the Jeep culture. Michael is able to give an inside perspective on the Jeep life and what’s going on with the Jeep wave. It’s an uplifting conversation, for the most part. The only downer is that Caddy has to get used to having a sore wrist. It’s a tough life here on My Second Act.

Your "ma'ams" are back this week covering one of the most hyped up shows to come to Netflix, Bodyguard! They spend their time breaking the down the episode with rivaling opinions -- MJ loving it and AJ feeling the complete opposite. AJ gives her patriotic reasons while MJ passionately defends David Budd and his PPO ways. Hilarity ensues as always! Congrats to Richard Madden on his Golden Globe (at least the Hollywood Foreign Press agrees with MJ! heh heh) Audio: Netflix Music: yocomet

Do go back to our Golden Globe Nomination Reactions episode as well, where we gave you our initial thoughts on the nominees. On this show, we focus on three central questions facing all of the major film categories. First, where’s our rooting interest as fans? Second, what win will impact the Oscar Race most? And third, who do we pick to win? The episode features the Vegas betting odds for most of the nominees, including a Mike 1 “how to gamble” preamble (which might be the pinnacle of my show note writing life, having now put those two words in the same sentence). So you’ll get a unique look at the slate of nominees by factoring in those betting odds. Then as MMO usually does, we also pepper in some historical stats from the last 10 years regarding what a Globe win could mean for that Oscar Race. We go category by category in this jam packed episode. Be sure to get your fix! Of course, we will have a Golden Globes reaction pod coming your way at some point next Monday after Sunday Night’s ceremony. We plan to structure our Globes pod in the format of our MMO Weekly series to stay true to our regularly scheduled Monday programming standards you’ve come to enjoy, and do continue to tune into MMOW at the beginning of your every week because we’ll have similarly structured shows on the Critics Choice Awards the second Monday of January, the SAGs at the end of the month, and of course, with the Oscar Nomination announcements on January 21st. We at MMO may have a bone to pick with all those Christmas Carols because we argue that awards season is the “most wonderful time of the year,” and we aim to prove it to you via every show. With all our Oscar Profile movie reviews, MMOW’s, and upcoming category previews, the Mikes are in a full on sprint to that red carpet and the Academy’s big night come February 24th. What do you think of our Golden Globe picks? What do you think of those betting odds? Do you know a guy or gal who has a tip for us? Let us know on social media. We are Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail. We’re @MMandOscar on Twitter, and we’re on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher, Tune In, Spotify, Google Play, and just about wherever you listen to podcasts. The Best of the Best. **OK, So it’s like Spoiler-ish.*** We don’t give away ALL or even MOST of what’s happening in these scenes, but we do outline some of what happens in a few of them. Impossible not to do that. Intro / Holiday Wishes / MMOs On the Horizon - Top of the Show Honorable Mentions - 2:20 Mike1’s #3 Best Scene - 12:54 The Mikes Have the Same #2/Act 2 Best Scene - 14:09 AlsoMike’s Best Act 1 Scene - 15:24 Mike1’s Best Scene of 2018 - 16:54 AlsoMike’s Best Scene of 2018 - 18:48 TELL US YOURS! - 20:29 Outro / Upcoming Programming / Social Media / Words of Wisdom - 22:37 The year end summaries of 2018 are flying all over the interweb, and MMO wanted give you something a little different than the usual top 10 lists. Oh, we’ll certainly weigh in with our favorite everything on the year, and boy, do we have a ton of categories, some being serious and some fun. In 2017, we called it our Year In Review series, and we included our superlatives pod AKA the Best Of’s episode, and in our humble opinion, it’s one of our better self made award shows. Then we dove into our top 10s as well what we would nominate and pick to win all of the Oscar categories in our 2017 MMOs. Will we follow the same exact format this year? We don’t quite know yet. But we will have another Year in Review Series in the weeks leading up to the Oscars. So do stay tuned. This episode is a teaser toward those eventual shows, but also, it’s a fun and relatively quick way to give you some mid-week entertainment over the holiday break when very few other pods are dropping new content. So you’re welcome, we love you, and Happy Holidays. These scene recommendations should hopefully encourage you to watch some awesome movies, and it’s our little gift to you this Christmas. Stay tuned for the rest of our Awards Season coverage. We’ll continue our Oscar Sprint Profiles as we review all of the contenders for the red carpet one movie at a time. We’re up to 28 movies in that series thus far, and we also have a bunch of 2018 movie events to compliment our awards taste with a more popular slant. Speaking of popular films, we did 3 separate episodes on the Breaking News odyssey of the Best Popular Film category. The centerpiece of those shows was our Perfect Oscar Fix on how we’d make the Academy Awards great again. Laugh at our way too early predictions and our 2 part mid-year report, and of course, we’ve been previewing Oscar films with our 6 part Oscar Trailers series and on a weekly basis with MMOW. You can find all of these episodes in our back catalog, and on Soundcloud, we made the “2018/19 Awards Season + Oscars” playlist so that you can find them easily. The “Breaking News Episodes/ Random Episodes also contains a few from that long list, and there’s yet another playlist entitled “MMO Weekly Episodes” to listen to our new hit series there. We’ll also cover the hell out of the Golden Globes. There’s a reaction episode to those nominations already up on our feed. We plan to record a Globe predictions episode next week, and we’ll certainly have a reaction show to the Hollywood Foreign Press’ main event coming to you a monday from now. Following that, we’ll have reactions to the Critics Choice Awards, SAG’s, and of course, to the Oscar Nominations later in the month. So when reality kinda sucks in the middle of winter, watch movies and stay updated on the Oscar Race with us. Finally, let us know what your favorite or best scenes of 2018 are, and we’ll be reading some of your selections on the next MMO Weekly. You can send those to us on social media at Mike, Mike, and Oscar on Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and Gmail, as well as @MMandOscar on Twitter. Once again, we wish you the happiest of holidays, and thank you for listening.

Essentially, we’re like a Oscars pod version of all three ghosts from A Christmas Carol rolled into one variety show. In our What We’re Watching segment, we review the rap battle Youtube Original movie Bodied, an intense coming of age story now on VOD in We The Animals, a depressing documentary about the excesses of modern art in HBO’s The Price of Everything, a confusing horror film in Lizzie, and then weigh in on the Globe nominated Boy Erased. Then we crown our first 3 time winner of #SixDegreesOfMMO by announcing our winners to the challenge of Barry Jenkins to Larry Bird. We thought we finally stumped you all. We thought wrong. Our News of the Week segment yields a serious discussion on Kevin Hart’s removal as newly signed Oscar Host. Then we give our thoughts on who should get the opportunity. The Box Office numbers looks familiar, and our Do You Care segments hits on next week’s new releases, the DCEU and it’s future film slate, Netflix’s surprise mega-hit The Christmas Chronicles, and we end with a shout-out to a congratulations to Clayton Davis of Awards Circuit for his formation of The Latino Entertainment Journalists Association. Finally, we recap all of the recent precursor awards in our Oscar Race Update. Some of our favorite films & performances like that of Toni Collette’s in Hereditary get some much needed momentum after snubs from the Hollywood Foreign Press & the Golden Globes. We also share the AFI’s top 10 films of the year & talk about some Chicago nominees that made friends with much of #FilmTwitter this past week. What do you think of the Oscar Race so far? Stumbling upon an ancient tomb, the hunters unwittingly set loose a 3,000-year-old legacy of terror, which is embodied in the vengeful reincarnation of an Egyptian priest who had been sentenced to an eternity as one of the living dead.Release date: May 4, 1999 (USA)Director: Stephen SommersBox office: 415.9 million USDBudget: 80 million USDSupport the show (https://www.paypal.me/bingewatcherspodcast)
