Send us a textThe Grand Finale of the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series was a race to remember!!After getting evicted from the original Downtown Circuit, the race promoters (i.e. Scott Borchetta) secured the Nashville Superspeedway for the promised "Final Event" of the IndyCar season. Those who made the short trip out to the 1.33 mile concrete oval were rewarded with a far better race than the makeshift street circuit could have provided. Even though title challenger Will Power's race (and belts) unraveled early on, there was plenty of high-speed action as recently relocated hometown hero Colton Herta navigated a late traffic jam to earn his first victory on an oval.In a somewhat anti-climatic fashion, Alex Palou earned his 3rd IndyCar title...an incredible feat when you consider the competitiveness of the IndyCar driver lineup, the equality of the cars, and the level of competition between and within teams. We think The IndyCar Fan Podcast captures the key moments and strategies of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. Give it a listen....and if you like it, let us know!!
Tonight, on a Wednesday night edition of Trackside with Kevin Lee and Curt Cavin, they talk about this past weekend's championship finale at the Nashville Superspeedway, with Alex Palou winning his third title in the past four years, while only in his fifth season in the series. After starting ninth, Colton Herta led 24 laps enroute to his first oval victory of his career and his ninth career win, taking the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix. They also talk about the success of the race from Scott Borchetta, avoiding the threat of rain from Hurricane Francine, and the possibility of doing the oval and street course race sometime in the future. They also talk about this season's oval “revival” and Will Power having an issue with his belts, ultimately taking him out early of championship contention. Later in the first hour of the show, Kevin talks to Curt to preview the upcoming IMSA race and BC39 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and answer questions from Twitter. They also talk about the recent pictures swarming around social media of Logan Sargeant and Hailie Deegan out and about in Nashville Superspeedway, possibly for their respective futures. To wrap up the first hour of the program, Kevin briefly talks about the upcoming second hour with the latest silly season news and the newest team on the grid for next season signing their first driver. To start the second hour of the show, Kevin and Curt talk more about the silly season with Callum Ilott signing with Prema Racing for 2025, while rumor is that F2 driver and Ferrari prodigy Robert Shwartzman could be the lead candidate for the second seat, along with Alexander Rossi. They talk about the possibility of a package deal that would send Rossi and Sting Ray Robb to Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, and the potential of Hy-Vee possibly going to A.J. Foyt Enterprises. They also talk about Jamie Chadwick running a potential “6-8 races” for next season and how the rotation of Dale Coyne Racing drivers of Jack Harvey, Hunter McElrea, and Toby Sowery could fit and where the new Indy NXT Champion, Louis Foster could land. Later in the second hour program, Kevin and Curt answer more questions on Twitter with more silly season rumors in the paddock and in the TV booth for next year. Then to wrap up another addition of the show, Kevin talks briefly about the recent FBI investigation at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing shop in Zionsville. PIT PASS INDY PRESENTED BY PENSKE TRUCK RENTAL – SEASON 4, EPISODE 47 – Previewing the 2024 IndyCar Series Championship Weekend with race promoter Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Label Group September 10, 2024 In this championship preview edition of Pit Pass Indy presented by Penske Truck Rental, show host Bruce Martin looks ahead to the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix with Scott Borchetta, the race sponsor and the founder and CEO of Big Machine Label Group. In the entertainment industry, Borchetta recognized talent when he saw it, and when he heard it. In 2004, he met a young 14-year-old girl who had extraordinary talent. One year later, he started Big Machine and signed the girl to a contract in 2005 as its first client. It was Taylor Swift, unquestionably the world's biggest entertainer who went on to win two GRAMMY Album of the Year Awards for Fearless in 2010 and 1989 in 2016. Although Swift would eventually leave Big Machine, the company remains one of the most successful entertainment companies in the industry. But Scott Borchetta is a racer at heart. A competitive driver behind the wheel, Borchetta owns a NASCAR Xfinity Series team and is the promoter of the Big Machine Music City Grand Prix – the championship race for IndyCar. Martin has an exclusive interview with Borchetta for Pit Pass Indy Presented by Penske Truck Rental. On the highways, the raceways and every pit stop in between, Penske Truck Rental keeps you moving forward. Gain ground with Penske! Welcome back to another episode of boots-on-the-ground journalism. The bone collector returns to serve a delicious meal: what, exactly, is the Taylor Swift origin story? We know the official narrative: plucky girl meets guitar, moves to Nashville, gets discovered at the Blue Bird Cafe and the rest is history. Was there more to it than that? If the recently resurfaced emails from Scott Swift's 2005 legal dispute with Taylor's former manager are to be taken seriously, then yes. We take an analytical lens to the essential role Taylor's hapless and bumbling, aw-shucks parents played in her rise to stardom & reevaluate her creative partnership with Scott Borchetta along the way too. In 2019, the pop music landscape was rocked when Taylor Swift took to Tumblr to expose that her arch-nemesis in the industry, Scooter Braun, had gained control over her life's work by owning the masters to her first six albums. She detailed how Braun—a manager, music business executive, and owner of Big Machine Label Group, along with Scott Borchetta—had taken advantage of her. Swift called on her fans to 'let them know how you feel.' And they did. Within a day, 'Swifties' brought record company offices to a standstill, sent threats to Braun's family, and cast the once-unknown executives into the limelight. In the first episode of this two-part series, we delve into the 'Taylor-verse' and expose the unsavory side of the music industry.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Fresh off their first ever playoff berth, Big Machine Racing crew chief Patrick Donahue joins Davey Segal (6:05) to discuss the relief of locking up a postseason spot after their impressive day at Kansas. He explains the satisfaction he's had with building the team from nothing, how he got hooked up with team owner Scott Borchetta in the first place, Parker Kligerman's growth as a driver this season, their technical alliance with Richard Childress Racing and more. Donahue, who's been around the sport for over two decades, recalls his early stops at Hendrick Motorsports where he worked with a young Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham, building other race teams from nothing to something, some stories from the infamous BK Racing days and more. Plus, would he ever entertain a move back to the Cup Series as a crew chief? And how far does he think Big Machine Racing can realistically go in these playoffs? Davey recaps Tyler Reddick's OT win at Kansas, Martin Truex Jr.'s struggles heading into the Round of 16 cutoff, previews Bristol and Papa Segal pays homage to the number 200 (albeit a week late).
On this episode of Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville edition, we are joined by award-winning songwriter & artist, Ashley Jordan!ASHLEY JORDAN When it comes to writing slice of life songs and then singing them from the heart, Ashley Jordan is in a league of her own. Born and raised in the tiny town of Harvard, MA, Ashley spent her summers in the Ozark Mountains with her grandparents, listening to and singing country music. She credits her late grandfather as “the light of her life” and it is clear that his influence as a country-folk singer/ songwriter is part of her DNA. At only 13, Ashley convinced her parents to allow her to travel to iconic Harvard Square in Cambridge where she and her guitar set up shop on a street corner. While a family member stood by, crowds gathered and her tip jar filled to the brim. The shy girl came to life in front of an audience and Ashley found her voice and her calling. By the time she was 16, Ashley was touring New England with her first album of original songs. Four albums later, Ashley Jordan is a seasoned live performer who has played to crowds as large as 40,000 opening for everyone from Trace Adkins to The Beach Boys, to Billboard Chart hit-maker Jimmie Allen, to the legendary Charlie Daniels Band. She has scored major market airplay, a first-round Grammy nomination, two unprecedented back-to-back Country Artist of the Year wins at the Boston Music Awards and was twice named a top 10 finalist on Nash Next, where she performed for Scott Borchetta of Big Machine Records, Kix Brooks and music legend Desmond Child. With the upcoming release of her fifth album of original music recorded in Nashville and produced by Jeff Huskins of Little Texas fame, Ashley Jordan is perched at the edge of stardom. Blessed with a powerhouse voice that moves effortlessly from pure country to an authentic pop vibe, Ashley Jordan is on fire and ready to roll. ******Roger the Wild Child Show: Nashville is streamed live every Wednesday night 9pm ET/ 6pm PT on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. After bidding farewell to Christina, Dimitri and Khalid keep on chooglin' through a few more hours of Taylor discourse, including: The (somewhat triggering) comparisons between Taylor and the Grateful Dead, the Right Wing Straussianism of Lana Del Rey, Taylor's opera singing grandmother Marjorie Finlay, her grandfather Robert Finlay's work in 1950s Havana before fleeing due to “political unrest”, Raymond Construction Company, Scott Borchetta and RCA/MCA, Scooter Braun's Make-A-Wish connections, Taylor-as-ARG, Zersetzung Taylor always watching, Matty Healy's irrepressible parasocial desire to riff with the Cum Boys, Khalid wondering whether there could be a Subliminal Jihad episode about Taylor Swift, escaping the teenage jail of Gen X music hipsterdom, why it's okay to respect quality and craft, more similarities with the Eagles, Khomeini, and Qassem Suleimani, going in on Joe with “You're Losing Me”, wisely turning down a FTX sponsorship in 2020, and whether or not Taylor has ever taken psychedelics.
Dimitri and Khalid are joined by Public Swiftie intellectual Christina (@stidrill) to explore and critically uphold the parasocial cult of personality, esoteric symbolism, and Eagles-tier Song Power of Ms. Taylor Alison Swift, including: The Eras Tour parking lot experience, recent comparisons with the Grateful Dead, mass amnesia/dissociative episodes at her concerts, Taylor-as-Sufi mystic/spiritual leader, getting Swiftiepilled when it wasn't “cool” in the late 2000s, Taylor becoming the Bob Dylan of the millennials, the low-key emo character of “Fearless” and “Speak Now”, Taylor's high finance parents and her carefully managed musical upbringing in Nashville, the Gaylor theories, Hetlers, Karlie Kloss, the Kushners, and David Geffen, similarities to the Ayatollah Khomeini, the deep cultural ramifications of Kanye interrupting Taylor at the 2009 VMAs, the Olivia Rodrigo interpolation controversy, Ryan Adams' pre-cancellation “1989” cover record, leaning into snake symbolism on “Reputation”, Joe Alwyn's ambiguous writing credits on “Folklore” and “Evermore”… The sordid saga of Scooter Braun, the Carlyle Group, and the Soros/Disney families stealing the masters of Taylor's first six albums, Taylor's ingenious decision to outfox the Silk Toppers by rerecording all her early records, the sus career moves of (son of a 1956 Hungarian emigré dentist) Scott “Scooter” Braun, gr**ming Justin Bieber for superstardom, noticing the social and business interlocks between Matty Healy, Peter Thiel, and certain prominent dirtbag podcasters who despise Taylor and hiss like snakes from the shadows as they root for her downfall, Matty Healy the Interscope COINTELPRO chaos agent, the unbearable midness of The 1975, Scott Swift's double-dealing with Scooter over Taylor's masters, Scott Borchetta's betrayal, big Saul Zaentz vibes, Taylor getting ermed by NYT journalists for making “…….a choice” to call out Soros by name, getting caught in the middle of the Hungarian Yankee-Cowboy Soros v. Orban shadow war, more political/apolitical parallels between Taylor and Khomeini, the fuzzy folklore of Taylor's MIB computer repairman guitar teacher in Nashville, and the carefully premeditated tactical media aspects of Taylor's rise to superstardom. Tasting Notes: The second release in the historic Borchetta Bourbon single barrel series pays homage to Bobby Unser's 1972 AAR Eagle, the first racecar to ever break 200mph on a closed course. The actual car is OWNED by Scott Borchetta, and is lovingly reproduced on the bottle stopper. In the historic box sits a single barrel of 5yr, cask-strength Tennessee Bourbon bottled at 122.5 proof and hand-numbered. This honestly has to be the most detailed, story-oriented package of whiskey I have ever seen. It's worth the $299.99 just to read the story on the darn label. The whiskey inside boasts dark cherry, ripe banana, rich oak, and leather. It's definitely craft, but one of the better ones I've had, honestly.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Meghan Linsey over Zoom video! No. 1 Billboard recording artist, Meghan Linsey, recently released her latest single, "If You Need Me Don't." This project is bringing The Voice alum back to her soulful, blues-driven New Orleans roots. Linsey recruited a stellar lineup of musicians for the track.. The single was produced by Linsey's husband and GRAMMY-nominated producer, Tyler Cain (Gramps Morgan, Ashley Monroe, Aloe Blacc). About Meghan Linsey:With her soulful voice and unique ability to rattle the rafters with gritty vocals, Meghan Linsey knows no boundaries in the realm of music. Linsey captured the hearts of America along with the ear of Scott Borchetta, a judge on the CMT reality singing competition Can You Duet. She won the show and Borchetta, the head of Big Machine Records, immediately signed the country-soul duo Steel Magnolia to his label. Success came quickly after the debut single “Keep on Lovin' You” catapulted to the Top 5 on Billboard. The pair toured with superstar acts including Brad Paisley, Bob Seger and Reba and appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Linsey embarked on her solo career writing and releasing two EP's before getting a call in 2015 from a producer for NBC's Emmy award-winning show, The Voice. During her time on The Voice, Linsey landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Christian chart with her rendition of "Amazing Grace" and had multiple No. 1's across all genres of the iTunes chart. In this episode, Matt talks to Mark Borchetta, Executive Vice President for Big Machine Distillery. In 2015, Music mogul Scott Borchetta acquired Big Machine Distillery with the desire to venture into the business of producing and marketing high quality craft spirits. He found a quaint and picturesque micro-distillery in the beautiful countryside of Lynnville and the journey began. Scott enticed his brother Mark Borchetta to come onboard to run the operation as Executive Vice President. The two have pulled no punches working to establish Big Machine as a foundational player in the spirits industry. The brothers are no strangers to creating legacies. Scott's abilities to spot rising talents such as Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line and Thomas Rhett as well as to attract veteran artists like Tim McGraw, Lady A and Reba McEntire are what caused Billboard Magazine to call Big Machine Record Label “the world's #1 independent record label.” Mark's impressive marketing prowess is also well-known. His long list of achievements includes bringing tens of millions of sponsorship dollars to global brands and rising stars, including Danica Patrick and the afore-mentioned Taylor Swift. So why was Scott's first order of business to try to disrupt the world of vodka? To create Big Machine Platinum Filtered Premium Vodka., he had a proprietary Platinum Filtration system constructed – the only system of its kind in the world. Trickling vodka through the rare precious Platinum beads creates a smoothness found nowhere else, leading the duo to call the spirit “The Smoothest Tasting Vodka, Period!” While many vodkas boast of 5-to-6 times distilled, distilling 25 times removes many more of the impurities which remain in most spirits. The result is a spirit that provides a clean and pure drinking experience. But vodka is just one of the award-winning spirits produced at Big Machine. Big Machine Distillery also produces a true craft Tennessee Whiskey, a New American Style gin, moonshine and single batch bourbons and rums. If you want to try any of the spirits Matt discussed on the show you can ORDER ONLINE or from the BIG RED LIQUORS APP for Curbside Pickup Service. It's as easy as 1,2,3! Start Your Order - bigredliquors.com Simply select your store, browse and search for Big Machine products, and start a CURBSIDE order. Your store will notify you when it is ready for pickup. Best of all, our NO TOUCH curbside will leave you with peace of mind and the great products you want ASAP.

Cadillac Jack has been trying to suppress Donna’s vote all week. At the same time it was Caddy whose ballot was flagged when he got to the precinct. We’ll see which one will end up on the rolls. Eric Church has a few new songs out. Caddy thinks that means he has a double album in the pipeline. That’s because Eric Church with no street week, promotion or interviews, dropped Mr. Misunderstood. The show takes a turn and dives into the dichotomy or Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Taylor Swift. Caddy and Donna discuss publishing contengencies, like when an artist is restricted from performing or obligated to produce a certain number of albums. Listen and watch for more on the topic in upcoming shows. “Whole Foods makes me shake. It’s not just a store, it’s a machine.” Caddy feels discriminated against when he goes into Whole Foods. Donna thinks it may be warranted. It all shakes out in the fourth segment of the show. PS - As a comfort item, Cadillac Jack brought home a bag of peppered beef jerky and an entire pineapple upside down cake. And some gingerbread popcorn. And brown butter cookies. The show rolls through some presidential trivia. (“Who could say no to petroleum jelly?”) If you didn’t have enough to be worked up about, stay tuned for the fourth segment of the show- laundry day. As Donna says, it’s compelling content but we really needed to talk about Caddy’s processes. It’s… worrisome. And leads to the question of “What are you freakishly good or bad at?” There’s a pound of Libby’s Pumpkin in the pantry. Is it for pie? Unfortunately not. It’s for a pretty bAnal reason. It has always been important to have the whole family under one roof. And it’s been that way for a long time. But that’s changing, as Wil is about to move away to Knoxville. The show ends on a more serious, down to earth tone as Caddy and Donna share their initial reaction to the change. Donna feels like she and Wil are ready, she’s excited for the next chapter. Caddy is having a harder time with it. Sometimes it’s just nice to have everyone at dinner.
It was #Halloween over the weekend and although it wasn't as big of a holiday as we usually get because of the pandemic that did not stop people from dressing up at home and some celebs pulled out all the stops. Lizzo dressed up in multiple costumes. One of them being the fly that landed in Mike Pence's hair during the Vice Presidential debate and she also had a creative take on dressing up as a WAP by wearing a costume that looks like water and some cat ears - very creative. Lil Nas X was unrecognizable as Nicki Minaj, The Weeknd fully embraced the Nutty Professor, Céline Dion dressed up as Nanny McPhee, and #ShawnMendes and Camilla Cabello had a little less effort put into their costumes. Shawn went as himself but beat up - alright and Camilla was dressed as a Miami witch. While most people dressed up to celebrate Halloween at home, a bunch of them all decided to party together thanks to #KendallJenner. Kendall is turning 25 years old tomorrow and decided to celebrate over the weekend with a Halloween party with more than 100 people in attendance including people like Justin Bieber, The Weekend, Doja Cat and Jaden Smith. Entertainment Tonight reported that all guests had a rapid COVID test done before they were allowed to enter the party but the fact that no one was wearing a mask or social distancing while they were celebrating together is not cool. Someone also shared a photo from the party saying there was a no social media rule. No one really listened to that rule including Kendall's sister Kylie Jenner who shared multiple videos on her story from the night just proving how how packed the party was. Fans have been celebrating Taylor Swift by sharing the hashtag #TaylorIsFree on Twitter after news came out that Taylor is now allowed to re-record her original music. Taylor Swift has been prevented from the rights to her own musical catalog after it was sold to Scooter Braun's company from Scott Borchetta, the head of Big Machine Records as part of a $300 million deal. Taylor was open with her fans about everything that was going on and expressed her sadness and disgust over the deal she said she had no control over. Taylor did explain at the time that she is able to re-record her old albums starting in November 2020. Taylor Swift also lent her music out to be used in a Biden-Harris 2020 Campaign Ad as she continues to endorse him for presidency. She allowed her song “Only The Young” from her Miss Americana Netflix documentary to be used in the ad that talks about issues such as the #MeToo movement, LGBTQ+ rights, racial injustice and the coronavirus pandemic. Now that Halloween is over, the Queen of Christmas has announced the holiday seasons has officially began, #MariahCarey that is. She shared a video on her social media of a man dressed in a halloween costume entering a room where she is surrounded by Christmas decorations announcing that it's time! Last year “All I Want For Christmas Is You” climbed back up on the Billboard Hot 100 reaching all the way to number one. Wayne Warner, the artist behind the 2006 "Turbo Twang" country line dance phenomenon, drops the mic, and does so loudly, in his recently released autobiography, "Backstage Nashville: The Undisclosed Story of a Major Label Recording Artist." Masterfully written, Warner provides a first-hand account of his personal journey into stardom, from his humble hometown in Vermont to the major labels of Nashville's recording industry. Never one to mince words, Warner unapologetically draws back the curtain on the music business and reveals the startling realities about his life in the country music spotlight. For more information, or to purchase the book, please visit www.WayneWarner.com.With brutal honesty, Warner details the inner struggles and personal triumphs of a man catapulted to a level of fame for which he was not prepared. While millions of fans across the globe were learning the dance steps to his latest single, Wayne grappled with internal demons--addiction, self-doubt, and the juxtaposition of Wayne, the man (who wanted nothing more than to be home with his kids), and Wayne Warner, the "untouchable star," whose success had been brokered, at least partially, through industry politics, the "good 'ole boy network," and shady backroom deals."Walking off the stage and up the ramp back to the bus, people rushed the fence reaching for the 'Turbo Twanger,' asking for autographs, photos, trying to reach through to shake my hand, get a high five, and even hand me gifts. I was thrilled, I was humbled, I was baffled. I was honored, and I was terrified to the core."Chapter 17, pg. 121Warner's creation of this book did not come without careful consideration because there are certain elements of the business that are rarely disclosed--and for good reason. However the former Atlantic Records/B Venturous recording artist came to realize that if he didn't write it, someone else would. Because of this, Wayne felt obligated to be unabashedly forthright about everything. He digs deep and reveals how he grew up a target of bullying, his struggle with addiction, his concerns and joys of adopting two African-American children, and how all of these affected his country music career."Backstage Nashville" provides a rare and unique look at the country music industry, intimately told from a recording artist's point of view that will put you in the studio with Harold Shedd, behind the microphone with Taylor Swift and Bonnie Tyler, in the boardroom with Frank Bell, Barry Coburn, and Al Cooley, rubbing shoulders with big-wigs like Scott Borchetta, Bob Saporiti, and Tim Dubois, and on a journey that might forever change the way you think about the music business.WATCH THE INTERVIEW ON BUSINESS CLASS NEWS

Spiritual Happy Hour is thriled to welcome Stephaine and Cheryl Lynn Spinner from the country music group Spinn on Thursday, November 16th at 8pm Eastern Time. They're city girls with country hearts and they're putting their cowboy boot imprint on the Garden State and the rest of the country. We will be talking about the power of music and how it can transform and heal us. Join us as we listen to to their story/journey and hear some of their music from their new album Freedom. This past year Spinn won country music station NASH FM’s NASH Next regional competition – which featured over 750 bands – earning them a trip to Nashville to perform in the finals, and tour with the other Top 10 finalists from around the country. Brooks & Dunn’s Kix Brooks, who was one of the competition’s judges, was so impressed with the duo that he asked to be part of the Spinn Fan Club (other judges included Big Machine Label Group’s Scott Borchetta, Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus, and Season 4 winner of The Voice, Danielle Bradbery). A lot of people have been asking to be a part of Spinn's fan club lately, as their spot on the NASH Next tour gave them the opportunity to show all of America what NJ and NYC already knew – a Spinn live show is always a good time. BehindTheNote.com/64 We cover a lot in this 45 minute episode with Rick Barker, Taylor Swift's first manager. Some questions we answer are: • When is a good time to hire a manager • How to build a loyal audience • And of course, Advice For A Successful Music Career ;) Grab a pen and paper, take notes, and then get to work! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rick Barker strives to teach artists how to be artists. With major changes in the music industry and digital world, record labels expect artists to build their online presence and fan base, become great songwriters and performers, and ultimately create their own buzz. Labels no longer spend thousands of dollars to “develop” an act. Today, labels are interested in investing in small businesses. Therefore, it is the artist’s job to treat their art as a business and become an attractive partner to a record label. Between formerly managing music superstar Taylor Swift, serving as the Social Media Mentor to finalists on FOX’s American Idol, and working as a private consultant to entities such as Big Machine Label Group and Live Nation, Rick Barker’s influence on the music industry is without question. Utilizing his extensive experience in radio, Rick created the “Nashville To You” radio tour, which played an important role in the early development of several acts, including Taylor Swift and Sugarland. With marketing tactics featured in Billboard and other well-known publications, Rick has dedicated his life to helping independent artists plot out the most efficient strategies for turning their music into a career. He is also the co-author of “The $150,000 Music Degree”, a music business e-book that, upon its release, was the most downloaded book on Noisetrade and he created Social Media For Music, the first ever step by step instruction course dedicated to the Music Industry. He was the first record promoter hired by Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta, where he had a role in the label’s first Number One record with singer-songwriter Jack Ingram. Rick later went on to found his own marketing and consulting firm, at which his first client was Sony Music Nashville. He is also the mastermind behind Music Industry Blueprint, a development service teaching artists from around the world everything they need to know about the complicated music business. We hope Rick’s free resources inspire you to take control of your career and become a business-minded artist who is ready to take on this crazy industry. As always, feel free to reach out with any questions.

Since reuniting with Scott Borchetta on his Valory Music Group label, Reba has shot straight back to the top of the charts. ‘Turn On The Radio’ is her latest single to take the top spot, and Kelly Lynn caught up with the writers at a party to celebrate that song’s success.
This marks our two-hundredth show on the air, bringing you the best and brightest stars of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Scott Borchetta has been very instrumental in the careers of Artists such as Reba McEntire, and Toby Keith. In 2005 Scott Founded Big Machine Record and sign Taylor Swift. In 2007 he realized there was to much talent to handle sufficiently on just one label so he created The Valory Music Company with Artists like Justin Moore, Jimmy Wayne, Jewel. Scott has since started a third label with Universal Republic, Republic Nashville, and is now home to some of country’s biggest stars, like Reba, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride. The success of those artists and Taylor Swift helped propel the label to the top spot as Billboard’s Top Country Album Imprint in 2009, recognition for being the highest-selling label group on Music Row. With all the serious work of running a label, though, it’s always fun to check out the lighter side of the business…like shooting a music video out on the farm
Siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry are The Band Perry. A pretty easy name to come up with if you ask me. The trio is originally from Mobile, Alabama, and had been writing and performing together for years before catching the ear of Big Machine’s Scott Borchetta. Scott immediately signed them to his new Republic Nashville last summer. Now with a new album available and a top 20 hit under their belts, we caught up with them on the set of their latest music video.
Shelby and Ashley unpack the series of events surrounding Scott Borchetta selling Big Machine to Scooter Braun as they address Taylor's essay, celebrities' reactions, and what it means for Taylor Swift's legacy, easter eggs, and Lover coming so soon.
