And visits the stables which have been repurposed as workshops – Julie catches up with sculptor, Michael Potter and joins Sophie Francis for a lesson in the ancient craft of willow weaving. Food and Travel Nation with Elizabeth DoughertyFrom the Show Archives From the Food Nation Radio Interview Archives:  Elizabeth Dougherty spoke with Michael Potter, CEO of Eden Foods about the USDA Organic Label and why Eden Foods does not use the government label on their organic products. According to their website, "Though all EDEN organic food is grown, handled, processed, and certified in a way that meets and exceeds the requirements for using the 'USDA Organic' seal, Eden Foods chooses not to use this seal on its product labels or marketing materials." Why? "The short answer is, this seal does not approach Eden's high standards for organic, in practice or in spirit." You can hear the audio interview with Michael Potter here. Eden Foods began in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the 1960s. They buy all of their food ingredients from farms and compensate them directly. Their products can be found in stores across the country. Between A Rock & A Hard Prince

Hi, and welcome to the most awesome of shows 'Between A Rock And A Hard Prince'!Join Corinne, Nick & Ryan EVERY Tuesday, as they talk about a whole pile of bollocks, especially about each other... but also to give you guys, the listeners, a proper good giggle (with them and AT them). To clarify the above sentence... we've cancelled out Corinne for the week, haha! For some reason, she didn't rock up for this one, but instead, we had the 'joy' of welcoming on the enigma, the one and only Nancy-boy, the irrepressible Michael Potter! To be honest, he was a very welcome guest, as he bought with him some delicious cans of amber liquid.Anyway, in the show, we chat about our favourite movie/tv quotes, ones that seem to have claimed a permanent spot in our minds... Ryan and I kept it nice and simple, but Michael enveloped us into a monologue pretty much, about the whole movie that his fav quote came from, only to forget the actual line that he wanted to quote to us. It's a great laugh, maybe Corinne will have to watch her back... if we decide to let her be our rock anymore ;)PARENTAL GUIDANCE RECOMMENDED& GUIDANCE FOR OLDER PARENTS RECOMMENDED TOO ;)If you like the show, please follow, subscribe, share, like, and all that... and please follow the show on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/betweenaroc... for all sorts of other whackiness. Please also follow our videographer https://www.instagram.com/poetoflight_/ - he's amazing, that amazing that people get married for the sole reason of using him on the day for all their photos. Thanks so much for listening, we hope you enjoy, and we hope to have you back again for a load more crazy chit chat.

Jumping Off the Ivory Tower with Prof JulieMac

For our final episode of the season we’re taking a look at the ways social justice issues can be addressed through theatre. Dayna talks to Chris Rabideau and Moya McAlister of Arts Collective Theatre, Michael Potter of Post Productions, and well-known actor, writer, and mentor Leslie McCurdy, all of whom are doing their part to make the world a better, more thoughtful place through theatre. Julie and Dayna reflect on the power of story-telling and education through drama, and why theatre is more important now than ever. In other news, we’re appealing to all of our listeners to contribute to social justice and access to justice causes this holiday season. Given the access to justice crisis (exemplified by the threatened closure of Pro Bono Ontario help centres), it’s vital that we ensure organizations providing valuable public services are able to continue their work. Please consider including an A2J organization in your holiday donations. And season’s greetings and Happy New Year to all our listeners! For related links and more on this episode see our website: https://representingyourselfcanada.com/all-the-worlds-a-stage/ Jumping Off the Ivory Tower is produced and hosted by Julie Macfarlane and Dayna Cornwall; production and editing by Brauntë Petric; Other News produced and hosted by Ali Tejani; promotion by Moya McAlister and Ali Tejani.

LISTEN TO TODD PAYTEN TALK WITH D'ARCY AND GORAN ABOVEThe Warriors have signed highly-regarded Todd Payten as an NRL assistant coach from next season.Payten is currently serving as an assistant coach at North Queensland but will join the Warriors on a three-year contract as a replacement for Andrew McFadden who will to return to Australia with his family at the end of the season after six years with the Warriors. The 39-year-old has also previously worked as an assistant coach at Wests Tigers and will continue his development under Warriors head coach Stephen Kearney and alongside fellow assistants Stacey Jones and Tony Iro."Todd's a young coach who has made a great impression and we're really excited about having him on board from next season," said Kearney."While replacing Cappy wasn't going to be easy after the wonderful contribution he has made to our club, we've been extremely fortunate to secure Todd."After a long playing career, he moved straight into coaching and has quickly established himself at NRL level."Warriors general manager of football Brian Smith is confident Payten's experience on both sides of the clipboard will make him a welcome addition to the club's coaching staff."Todd has served a great apprenticeship as a player and coach at very good clubs and has experienced grand final success as both a player and a coach," said Smith."He'll provide great support to Stephen alongside Stacey and Tony."Payten's playing career began in 1996 with the Raiders, before stints with the Roosters and Wests Tigers, prior to his retirement after 259 appearances in 2011.The following season he enjoyed immediate success as a head coach after steering the joint venture club's under 20s team to a NYC title win.He coached the side again in 2013 before being promoted to an assistant role under former Tigers NRL head coach Michael Potter in 2014, and both seasons also coached the New South Wales under-18s to victory over Queensland.Payten was previously linked to a move to the Warriors coaching staff in 2014, before he accepted a job as coach of the Cowboys NYC side and assistant to NRL head coach Paul Green. He was a member of the coaching staff for the Cowboys' 2015 NRL grand final win over Brisbane.

While the cause of last Friday's warehouse collapse at Kentucky's Barton 1792 Distillery is still not known, the whiskey industry has known for years about the problems so-called "powderpost" beetles can cause in a rickhouse. Anobiid beetles dig deeply into old, untreated wood as larvae, then chew their way out as adults, and are capable of weakening the structural integrity of a wooden structure over many years. University of Kentucky entomology professor Michael Potter is an expert on these beetles, and has worked with Barton 1792 and other distilleries over his 27 years at UK. He'll join us on WhiskyCast In-Depth, and we'll also have details as state officials plan to cite Sazerac for environmental damage from the whiskey spilled in the rickhouse collapse.

US President Donald Trump is proposing sweeping tax cuts that will affect every other country. Australia is not well placed to respond, with a lack of major tax reform since 2001. By contrast, Canada has been a successful tax reformer, with the federal-provincial corporate tax rate falling from 43% in 2001 to 27% in 2016 and the virtual elimination of capital taxes, amongst other policies. How will tax changes proposed by Donald Trump affect both countries? Is Canada better placed because of the recent Canadian tax reforms? The Centre for Independent Studies (CIS) and the Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce (CACC) hosted a joint event discussing these and other questions. This event welcomed Canadian tax expert, Dr Jack Mintz, President's Fellow, School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary and former chair of the Canada's business tax panel that led to Canada's reform, and Michael Potter, Research Fellow at CIS. ____________________ The Centre for Independent Studies (CIS) promotes free choice and individual liberty, and defends cultural freedom and the open exchange of ideas. For medieval pilgrims, arrival in Santiago meant the midpoint of their journey, not the end. Today's pilgrims typically wrap up their walk in Santiago or on the coast and then return home by train or plane. While that change is certainly more convenient, is something lost in the bargain? Jen Hofmann completed her return trip this summer, walking east from Finisterre to St Jean Pied-de-Port, in pursuit of completion. This episode also features an interview with Dr. Michael Potter from the University of Kentucky--an entomologist with great expertise in the realm of bed bugs. He corrects some common misunderstandings about bed bug prevention techniques and offers some strategies that all pilgrims can employ to keep themselves bite-free.
