Get ready for an eye-opening conversation with the legendary Joel Salatin, founder of , as we dissect the future of the food supply and economy in the United States. Joel brings his trademark wit and wisdom to a discussion about economic scenarios like recession and hyperinflation, using a wasp nest analogy to predict how these challenges could impact food production. From deficit spending to potential government interventions, we explore the instability that might arise and the resilience needed to navigate such uncertain times. We also dive into the world of direct food sourcing, emphasizing the importance of cutting down on ultra-processed foods and fostering connections with local farmers. Learn how to fortify your food supply by exploring farmer's markets, community-supported agriculture, and even backyard gardening. This episode offers practical tips on cultivating your own food oasis at home, turning ornamental gardens into edible landscapes that boost both sustainability and self-sufficiency. Finally, we explore the ethical dimensions of food production, from the rise of non-GMO farming to the humane treatment of animals. Joel shares his unconventional yet sustainable farming practices, emphasizing stewardship over ownership and the role of faith in his life. In a conversation that moves from local to global, we touch on the role of consumer choice in supporting farmers and fostering a healthier ecosystem. Join us for insights that span from the farm to the table, with an emphasis on collaboration and growth in the food industry. ------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter Timestamps (00:16) - The Future of Food Supply (10:24) - The Benefits of Direct Food Sourcing (18:36) - Direct Food Sourcing and Self-Sufficiency (25:23) - Respecting Animals in Food Production (40:13) - Culinary Philosophy and Sustainable Farming (51:52) - Networking in the Food Industry ----------------------------------------------   Chapter 1 The Future of Food Supply 00:16 This chapter features a compelling discussion with Joel Salatin, the founder of Polyface Farms, about the current state and future of the food supply and economy. We explore potential economic outcomes for the U.S. in the next five years, considering possibilities such as recession, depression, or hyperinflation, while acknowledging the unpredictability of such events. Salatin provides insights into the consequences of deficit spending and potential governmental actions like price controls, which could disrupt industries like food production. Using an analogy of a wasp nest, he illustrates the potential instability and reactionary measures that may arise from economic dysfunction, offering a thought-provoking perspective on the challenges and resilience needed in uncertain times.   Chapter 2 The Benefits of Direct Food Sourcing 10:24 This chapter focuses on the importance of reducing the consumption of ultra-processed foods and establishing a direct connection to your food sources. We emphasize the significance of opting for local farmer's markets, community-supported agriculture, and even direct shipments from farms like Polyface Farms, which offers nationwide delivery. The conversation highlights the benefits of decentralizing food systems to enhance resilience against disruptions, like those seen in 2020. We also explore how individuals with backyard spaces can start growing their own food by planting what they enjoy eating, considering both perennials like berries and orchard trees, and annuals like vegetables. The chapter suggests utilizing raised beds for child-friendly gardening and promoting edible landscaping to replace ornamental plants with those that provide food, thereby maximizing the utility of garden spaces.   Chapter 3 Direct Food Sourcing and Self-Sufficiency 18:36 This chapter takes us on a journey through the historical and contemporary implications of food security, using the backdrop of Anne Frank's story to illustrate the resilience of rural communities during crises. We explore how the ability to source food directly from the countryside provided a lifeline during the Nazi occupation of Amsterdam and consider parallels to modern urban vulnerabilities. The conversation shifts to discussing the significance of maintaining a well-stocked pantry and staying healthy to mitigate the impact of societal disruptions. Attention is given to the prevalence of GMOs and additives in modern diets, encouraging listeners to seek out non-GMO foods and support local farmers. By becoming patrons of clean, sustainable agriculture, individuals can play a crucial role in enabling farmers to thrive and reduce reliance on supermarket chains.   Chapter 4 Respecting Animals in Food Production 25:23 This chapter examines the growing trend of non-GMO farming and the impact of consumer choices on the food system, emphasizing the importance of supporting non-GMO products to promote healthier ecosystems and sustainable practices. We discuss the potential health implications of additives in industrial food products, such as antifreeze agents in ice cream, and how discerning consumers can identify more natural alternatives. Additionally, we explore the ethical considerations surrounding animal farming, highlighting the differences between industrial and small-scale operations. The conversation touches on the respect and care smaller farms tend to have for their animals, which may contribute to higher quality meat that cooks faster and retains better texture due to reduced stress and adrenaline levels in the animals. This discussion underscores the interconnectedness of food production, consumer choice, and environmental and ethical considerations.   Chapter 5 Culinary Philosophy and Sustainable Farming 40:13 This chapter explores the journey and philosophy of Joel, a self-proclaimed "lunatic farmer," who has embraced unconventional farming practices that prioritize ecological sustainability over traditional methods. Joel shares how he has been marginalized by the conventional agricultural community, drawing parallels to political figures like RFK Jr., and how he has chosen to embrace his outsider status with humor and resilience. We delve into Joel's holistic view of farming, where he emphasizes stewardship over ownership, viewing land and livestock as God's creations that require responsible management. His approach has allowed him to remain unaffected by global events like the fertilizer crisis following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Joel also touches on the importance of faith and family, describing himself as a Christian libertarian environmentalist capitalist, and underscores the need for cultural appreciation and collaboration. This narrative concludes with a reflection on the positive atmosphere of a Ron Paul conference, contrasting it with more divisive gatherings.   Chapter 6 Networking in the Food Industry 51:52 This chapter focuses on a conversation where I express my gratitude for a guest's participation and apologize for exceeding time limits. I offer my public relations expertise and access to a broad range of press contacts, particularly in the farm and libertarian freedom sectors. The guest, who frequently participates in various podcasts covering topics from business to food, expresses interest in the contacts I can provide. I conclude by reaffirming the positive experience of the exchange and extending my support through sharing valuable media connections, thus aiming to enhance future opportunities for both of us.   Joel Salatin, Polyface Farms, Food Supply, Economy, United States, Recession, Hyperinflation, Wasp Nest Analogy, Economic Scenarios, Deficit Spending, Government Interventions, Direct Food Sourcing, Ultra-Processed Foods, Local Farmers, Farmer's Markets, Community-Supported Agriculture, Backyard Gardening, Edible Landscapes, Sustainability, Self-Sufficiency, Ethical Dimensions, Non-GMO Farming, Humane Treatment, Sustainable Farming Practices, Stewardship, Faith, Consumer Choice, Food Production, Resilience, Collaboration, Networking, Public Relations, Press Contacts, Positive Experience

She provides tips on feeling safe and comfortable in the hospital environment, choosing your ideal support person, communicating your needs to your care team, and mentally preparing for the sensations of labor. It's time to erase fears and replace them with feel-good vibes. Get ready to enjoy birth on a whole new level!   Jen Hamilton's career as a labor & delivery nurse looks different than most other nurses in her field. With over 3 million TikTok followers, Jen Hamilton is using social media to transform maternal healthcare. Featured in news media like The New York Times and CNN, Jen's mission is to prevent birth trauma, dispel labor & birth myths, and empower patients with evidence-based information. Her engaging and informative content has made her a trusted voice in the field, bridging the gap between patients and healthcare providers. She is a mom of 2 boys and 2 indoor chickens that wear diapers. She and her husband raise their "flock" in central NC. She still spends every weekend at the bedside, caring for laboring patients and their families. Though she travels the country sharing her message of improved maternal care, she has no plans to stop her bedside work.      In This Episode: Bringing items from home like twinkle lights, essential oil diffusers, blankets, etc. can make the hospital room feel more comfortable. Choose a labor support partner who cares for you well when sick, not just assuming your partner will provide romance and back rubs. Clearly tell your care team what physical sensations and touches are pleasurable or triggering for you. Doulas help you feel heard and provide emotional and physical comfort measures in labor. Mentally prepare for labor by practicing coping techniques for short bursts of intense sensations.     Key Takeaways: Preparation and getting in the right mindset is more important than a rigid birth plan Prioritize feeling respected, empowered and cared for over specific interventions Every painful sensation brings you closer to meeting your baby Fear and not feeling safe can stall labor - address emotional blocks Pivot in labor based on your bodily intuition, not expectations     Key Quotes:   "It's never a birth plan thing. It's never...riding on the support person. It's riding on that person's mental preparation for what they will experience." - Jen Hamilton   “More than a birth plan, I want you to be thinking about birth vibes. Welcome to the Sx in Humans, podcast Season 2, Episode 4 with Ana Romero. Ana was in a relationship for 23 years, lived in 4 different countries, is a multidisciplinary international designer, survived intense childhood trauma, and repeated some those experiences in her relationships as an adult, like so many of us.  She has recently transformed her life experience through the modality of EMDR.  Her newfound self awareness and strength to change her internal compass for happiness is exceptional.  If you're trying to change your life, or changing it and not sure what change feels like: this podcast is for you. Summary In this episode, Ana Montero shares her transformative experience with EMDR therapy after enduring childhood trauma. She discusses the impact of childhood trauma on one's behavior and self-perception. Ana explains the process of EMDR and how it helped her reprocess traumatic memories and give them new meaning. She opens up about her own traumatic experiences and the profound insights she gained through therapy. Ana also reflects on the shift from masculine to feminine thinking and the importance of empathy and self-awareness in finding happiness and pursuing a personal legend. In this conversation, Ana and JohnDavid discuss the concept of happiness and how it differs for each individual. They explore the importance of defining happiness for oneself and the role of circumstances in achieving happiness. Ana shares her journey of being a better mom and managing her own shortcomings while raising her child. They also discuss the evolution of parenting and the impact of childhood stories on shaping our beliefs. Ana reflects on discovering her true self and unleashing her sensual energy. The conversation emphasizes the courage needed to push through difficult phases and the importance of support from others. Takeaways Childhood trauma can have a significant impact on one's behavior and self-perception. EMDR therapy can help individuals reprocess traumatic memories and give them new meaning. The process of EMDR involves establishing a safe space, allowing the subconscious to surface, and reprocessing traumatic experiences. The shift from masculine to feminine thinking can lead to greater empathy, self-awareness, and a more fulfilling life. Happiness is a subjective experience that differs for each individual. Being a better parent means being present, emotionally supportive, and managing one's own shortcomings. Understanding and empathy can help diminish the wrongness and evil in the world. How to transform your life and manifest a positive experience.

In this episode, we talk about a transformative mindset exercise that will change how you perceive and manifest your desires. This exercise we're about to embark on is simple yet incredibly powerful. It's rooted in gratitude but takes it to a whole new level. Gratitude is all about connecting with a specific memory, event, or thing that fills you with love and positivity. It's about harnessing that energy. Now, we'll choose the energy we want to receive actively. Before we start, take a moment to get comfortable, loosen up your shoulders, and relax your spine. Align your body in a way that allows you to fully receive. Take a few deep breaths to tune in to your inner vibrations. As you start pumping vibrational energy within you, think about what you truly desire. Is it a new car, inner peace, or a moment of pure bliss? Is it an event you'd like to attend, a personal transformation, or a new job? Whatever it is, keep pumping yourself up with this powerful healing energy, uniquely crafted for you. Breathe it in, and as you think about your desire, build a vivid mental image around it. Now, give this image a single word that encapsulates the frequency of that moment. It could be "love," "bliss," "peace," or "abundance." As you say this word repeatedly, watch the image become brighter and more vibrant. This is how we align ourselves with our desires. You are a powerful observer and creator. What you observe, you can create more of—it's that simple. By creating this mental image and repeatedly saying the word that represents it, you're inviting that frequency into your life. You're connecting with it on a profound level, and you're aligning yourself with it. In essence, you're observing it and bringing it within. Now, do you have that image in your mind? Let's take a deep breath together to solidify it. Feel that image. Breathe it in. As you say the word that represents it, feel it resonate deep within you. Experience the sights, sounds, and scents of that moment as you hold your breath. Live in it like you're watching a movie, and when you exhale, let that moment integrate into your being. Anything that doesn't align with this newfound frequency will naturally dissipate. Let's take that deep breath together once more. Did you feel it? Did you sense the powerful creation you're capable of? Your mindset is the lens through which you perceive the world. It's the choice to see and receive the good, even in the face of challenges. It's not about external circumstances or what's fair; it's about the internal state you desire, and you have the power to choose it. This exercise isn't limited to one desire; you can apply it to every aspect of your life—money, wellness, experiences, relationships, career, and more. It's about manifesting your vision, writing it down, and immersing yourself in it. The more intention, focus, and involvement you invest in your desires, the clearer the path to achieving them becomes. So, I encourage you to practice this exercise frequently. Believe in yourself, rise above external distractions, and become the rising tide that lifts all ships. - Henry -------------------------------- Request Coaching Info -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram Facebook Group! -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

Why I wouldn't be a surrogate again even though I had an overall positive experience

Today on the show I speak with Hayley Wilson about her journey to surrogacy. Hayley had two children of her own and decided she wanted to experience having another birth but without the baby at the end. She researched surrogacy and found a family she aligned with to carry their biological baby for them. She had five attempts to fall pregnant with the embryo, and it finally took on the last attempt. The pregnancy as you would suspect was a lot of drugs which she now sees as  probably unnecessary. She said it was a hard pregnancy and in retrospect puts this down to the energetics of carrying someone else's baby. Even though her and the parents were on the same page and both very respectful of each other - she talks about how there were still bumps in the road regarding bodily autonomy and conflicts in the birth space. In Australia commercial surrogacy is not legal and you can not be paid to be a surrogate, which you many may think is a better system. Altruistic Surrogacy which is legal in Australia and what Hayley did, still has it's problems though. Hayley ends by telling us why she would never be a surrogate again and in reflection the other reasons why she did it. Hayley is beautifully honest and respectful. I loved hearing her journey of surrogacy and ultimately of her personal growth.  Bio: Hayley Wilson is a self-led, matriarchal birth worker and mentor who wants every woman to access her inner depth, intuition and power. She believes in embodying matriarchy and uses a range of heart-led energetic practices to guide women toward their internal wisdom. Hayley supports her clients to unlearn and live in feminine alignment so they can curate the births and businesses of their dreams.

In this episode, we break down the conversion that will empower you to elevate your mindset, shift your energy, and manifest the life you truly desire. Have you ever wondered why some people seem to effortlessly achieve their dreams while others struggle to manifest their desires? What's stopping you from becoming and receiving everything you desire in life? It's easy to blame our circumstances, background, education, or appearance for our limitations. But the force shaping our experiences and outcomes is our energy. The Law of Attraction means that like attracts like. If everything is energy, our dreams, goals, and desires are also energy. To manifest them, we must change our energy to match what we want. Instead of fixating on the material aspects of our desires – like a new car, a bigger bank account, or a dream job – focus on the energy those things embody. What frequencies or energies are associated with your goals, and what can you do to align yourself with them? It's a powerful shift in perspective. Now, you might wonder what it would take to accept this as your truth. Some individuals naturally adopt this mindset from an early age, unwaveringly focusing on their desires, beliefs, and visions. They become single-minded in their pursuit and, consciously or subconsciously, channel their energy toward their goals. Recognize that it's not just about their physical actions but the energetic transformation they undergo along the way. Often, we focus on their external achievements, like prestigious schools or fortunate circumstances, but we miss the profound change in their energetic state that allows them to manifest their desires. Everything operates on frequency. When you raise your frequency, your perception changes. You will only receive what you perceive. If you see the world as lacking, you will attract scarcity. But when you view life as brimming with opportunity, your reality will mirror that belief. Your thoughts and beliefs shape your reality and are within your control. If you believe you're only worth a specific income, that's what you'll manifest. If you believe happiness is limited, you'll receive limited happiness. Your beliefs set the boundaries for what you can achieve. You have the power to create the energetic space for yourself to manifest your desires. You are a powerful creator, no less than anyone else on this planet. The difference lies in whether you recognize and harness that power. Some people have seized control of it, while others relinquish it to external factors. Accept this truth: you are responsible for your current state of being. It may be challenging to accept if your current reality doesn't align with your desires, but it's a fundamental step toward transformation. Blaming external circumstances or factors is a disempowering mindset. Instead, acknowledge that your energy extends beyond your birth and death – it's a part of your broader existence. You are a manifestor, a creator, an observer. As an observer, you create what you observe. So, if you start observing positive thoughts, envisioning your desired self, and taking action, even when it's tough, you'll begin to believe. And as you believe, you'll receive. Believe that life can be easy. Believe that it's possible to receive everything you desire. Recognize that you are the author of your life's story. No one else can determine your narrative. While external influences may have shaped your early beliefs, you have the power to shift them. Let's raise our perspectives together and become the rising tide that lifts all ships. - Henry -------------------------------- Request Coaching Info -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram Facebook Group! -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

In this episode, we talk about how to build your positive mindset, raise your vibration, and expand your horizons! You are far more amazing than you realize. Your potential, abilities, and power exceed what you may currently comprehend. It's common to feel lost or down, searching for external changes in our lives – in our jobs, the economy, or the world itself. But true transformation lies within. The journey towards positive change starts by focusing on yourself. The world mirrors your internal state. When you pour love, joy, and positivity into yourself, the world reflects that back. Even in times of darkness, you can find light. Healing within doesn't guarantee a perfect world; it empowers you to be the light within that darkness. You don't need the world to improve because you become the improvement. If you're feeling down, shifting your inner dialogue is essential. Replace negative self-talk with positive affirmations. Your thoughts are powerful; they influence your energy and, consequently, your experiences. Surround yourself with people, content, and influences that align with the frequency you want to embody. Establish boundaries against negativity and protect your inner world. Your actions should match your thoughts. When you think and act in alignment with your desired frequency, you become the change you wish to see in the world. Life's challenges and hardships are opportunities for growth. By finding love and positivity in challenging situations, you become a powerful force for positive change. - Henry -------------------------------- Request Coaching Info -------------------------------- Social Media Say hi on TikTok Say Hi on Instagram Facebook Group! -------------------------------- Email Me henry@vibeabundant.com -------------------------------- Email List --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/positive-mindset-podcast/support

In this episode of Facing the Dark, we delve into the topic of loneliness and how to navigate it healthily. Dr. Kathy expounds on the belief that it is not realistic to avoid loneliness all the time, but rather, it is appropriate to accept and embrace being alone at times. She emphasizes that not addressing loneliness may lead to insecurity and lack of confidence. She points out that learning to handle loneliness is important, encouraging us to see it as a positive experience.  Dr. Kathy shares how resiliency is the ability to bounce back from despair, disappointment, grief, and fear, and that it is a choice that can become a part of one's character. We guide parents in fostering resiliency in children, preventing loneliness from leading to despair or isolation.
