Experts say a high-end sex ring busted by the Justice Department could now pose a threat to national security as buyers in their network included politicians, executives, military officers and government contractors with security clearances could pose a threat to national security. The DOJ announced the arrests of three individuals involved in the operation of the brothels, some of which were run out of apartment buildings in Fairfax and Tysons, on Wednesday. They say 41-year-old Han Lee, 68-year-old James Lee and 30-year-old Junmyung Lee — all foreign nationals — are facing federal charges. The alleged clients were likely captured on surveillance video and potentially more. FOX 5 spoke with a former military special operations leader Nic McKinley, who also worked with the CIA. He says those involved should immediately come clean so steps can swiftly be taken to protect national security."I would assume it will eventually be made pubic and when it does, it will cause some probably pretty significant national security implications because the question will be – obviously it was foreign nationals who were involved in this brothel, so — were they recording what was happening? Were they documenting what was happening? Were they then using that information to blackmail these politicians or government contractors or security clearance holders?" McKinley said. He went on to say while alleged clients may not have been targeted, the Northern Virginia area likely was targeted given its proximity to the nation's capital. Nic McKinley is as close as it comes to Tom Clancy's fictional hero Jack Ryan, the larger-than-life CIA analyst, field operative, US Marine, and sometimes stockbroker. McKinley is a former CIA officer and US Air Force para-rescueman, and a Harvard graduate who worked for East Coast investment banks. He also spent 17 years parachuting out of helicopters, dodging bullets, and coming face-to-face with terrorists. “Any time you're in those situations I have what I call my ‘Rules of Operation'. The first rule is to be cool. The second rule is to not get caught. And the third rule is that if you do get caught, you refer to Rule 1 and just be cool,” McKinley said. He now runs Dallas-based DeliverFund, the world's only private intelligence agency focused on combatting human trafficking, one of his biggest passions and challenges.

In addition to serving in the Air Force, working in the State Department, serving in the CIA, and now running two different companies - one of them designed to fight human trafficking - Nic is needless to say, an amazing human being. As a founder of two companies, his biggest advice to entrepreneurs is to not start a company. Nic McKinley is a former CIA and Pararescuer who has a Harvard education. He is the founder of DeliverFund.org and Verafī.net. Human trafficking is compared to slavery since someone is profitting from it; it is an economic exchange. Every 2.5 hours a child is taken according to the NCMEC. Human traffickers use technology to lure their victims and Nic McKinley collects data to help law enforcement find children who are trafficked. Labor trafficking is a massive problem in the United States as well, so DeliverFund.org helps to eliminate this issue. Traffickers are sifting through Facebook, Tik Tok, instagram, and all of the social media outlets to find youth, especially girls, so COVID has made trafficking worse since more youth are online. Nic says that traffickers are looking for some type of vulnerability and the person who is trafficking is a master at identifying girls. Ultimately, he says, it is a numbers game as they chat with as many vulnerable boys and girls as they can such as through these social media platforms but also through video gaming. According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, only 1% are recovered and 25% who go missing enter the trafficking market or cycle. About 100,000 enter that market in the United States and only 1% of them are found, so that is why Nic says it is more important to go after the root cause of human trafficking so that it to target the traffickers. Nic also discussed how defunding the police will make it more difficult to find missing children so this is something we should appreciate about our law enforcement. The best things the parents can do is NOT to let their children on Tik Tok according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). Traffickers are bullies and children and teens should tell adults if they are victims or have been approached. If you have a friend who is involved in something suspicious, you need to tell an adult because if they were overdosing, you wouldn’t ignore them. You would help save your friend’s life since their life span average when trafficked is just 7 years. Deliverfund.org has a THRIVERS programs for victims who are rescued by connecting them to community resources. They do not run safe houses, but they are the ones who gathers intelligence and then supports victims by connecting them with professionals. Nic is hopeful that we can eradicate human trafficking which is why he is focusing on going after the trafficker. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.” – Phillip Sweet After watching Jack Ryan with my wife, the Amazon series based on a Tom Clancy character, we checked out a short documentary series featuring former operators and analysts who worked with the CIA – and that's where I first saw our guest Nic McKinley, the founder and CEO of DeliverFund and the man who inspired the hashtag #TheRealJackRyan. When Nic was growing up, he wanted to be Batman; “Just a normal guy who used his resources to change the world, and worked really hard to build himself up to be the catalyst that would change the world.” And Nic pretty much got as close to being Batman as anyone gets: CIA special agent. He served as a member of a special unit focused on providing unique capabilities and expertise, regardless of threat or environment, in response to the critical operational needs of the Intelligence Community as part of an overseas unit conducting complex operations in non-permissive countries. Like Batman, Nic did start with some privilege. He didn't have the entire fortune of Wayne Enterprises behind him, but he didn't need it. He says, “The ultimate privilege is good parenting – and I had really good parents.” Nic was also a USAF Pararescueman (PJ) for 10 years, but exceptional dedication in the military alone isn't what got him recruited into the CIA (although it didn't hurt). He later worked as a consultant for fortune 10 investment banks, where he demonstrated a penchant for finding solutions to hard problems, and these diverse experiences are what made him so appealing for high-stakes operations in high threat countries. But this isn't even the most awesome impact that Nic has made to protect our country and world.
