The first episode of this four-part series explores what made Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo stand out as they began their journeys to becoming footballing icons.Steve Crossman is joined by Guillem Balague, who is author of 'Cristiano Ronaldo: The Biography' and the biography 'Messi'.From playing on the streets in Argentina and Portugal, to the bright lights of Barcelona and Manchester United, in this episode we discover how Messi and Ronaldo began to make their mark as a new footballing rivalry was formed which would dominate the game for the next two decades. We hear from Messi's former academy team mate Cesc Fabregas on the development of a young superstar after making the move as a teenager from Rosario to Barcelona, while Rio Ferdinand describes his first impressions of an 18-year-old Ronaldo after he came to the world's attention at Old Trafford.
Paul uses maternal and paternal imagery—gentle care, encouragement, and shared life—making it beautifully inclusive and pastorally rich. John 15:9–17 (ESV)As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.1 Thessalonians 2:7–12 (ESV)But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers. For you know how, like a father with his children, we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.
Hello to you listening in Forres, Scotland! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. The Scots word “smooring” is an old practice of subduing a fire with ash or peat to keep the embers warm overnight until they're rekindled in the morning. Maybe like me something or someone smoored your self-expression. Perhaps you were told that you were a handful, a free spirit, loudly curious, or just plain too much. After a time you conformed to what they wanted. You smoored your self-expression. You stopped freely sharing your feelings, ideas, curiosity, and thoughts. As your self-expression was subdued, you became less visible. And yet, like a smoored fire the embers of your self-expression are still there waiting to be rekindled into flame so that you regain your visibility. 4 Practical Tips: I have four tried and true tips for you: 1. Nurture self-awareness so that you become visible to yourself. 2. Awaken natural talents to reignite the fire of your self-expression. 3. Seek out the people and places where you belong, where you and your self-expression are welcome 4. Practice saying what you mean and meaning what you say as the courageous act of a warrior. The question is no longer: Who will let me?; the question is: “Who do they think they are to try and stop me? Thank you for listening! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Speaking of magic, I hope you'll subscribe, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, bring your friends and rellies, and join us! Miranda July is known to weird out, to stretch what we call normalcy. I feel like she is David Lynch's daughter. She'd be the comedy version of him. Anyways, Mildred Fernandez and I reviewed "Kajillionaire" about Old Dolio who never had a chance in life. I mean, her name says it all. All she wants is someone to meet her beyond what is just equal. We want to feel special. July created a film where it's screaming that without having to hear it. We see the events that unfold where a human progresses dramatically as the film goes on. This film is about being accepted, the importance of nuture and most importantly, always keep your ears on the ground because it be the closest ones out to get you. We dug the film for it's screenplay, the scenes that express the challenges the caharacters have to deal with as the film goes on, it solely pushes the story, and we also like how the film addresses traumas that are passed down and they shape people. I personally give this filmFour tokes out of FourMildred Fernandezhttp://instagram.com/tender_claws

Today on Sense of Soul we have author and world-class, renowned decorative artist, Elisa Stancil Levine. She is a writer, a maker, and a nature lover and she joined us to share the wisdom behind her newest book “This, or Something BETTER.” In which reveals how true healing of deep wounds happens one exquisite layer at a time—and invites us each to consider and embrace our own path toward wholeness and authenticity. When the Sonoma Complex fire came to Elisa Stancil Levine's California doorstep in 2017, her world changed overnight. The devastating fire torched thousands of acres, but for Elisa, that night that cracked her wide open. The fresh trauma of the firestorm sparked a quest: what treasure awaited if Elisa learned to trust human nature? Join us as she takes us back and revisites her painful past, shares how nature shaped her character, and it later informed her wildly successful career as the founder Stancil Studios, an award winning, nationwide decorative finishes company in San Francisco. Local guest Chuck Denningham joins me from East Concord, NH. For the last year the phrase 'community' has been a buzz word in Christian gatherings. What does it mean? How do we create it and is it authentic? As we at Kingdom Come have left traditional church we've learned things from the streets we never saw before in Sunday morning gatherings. Those are things we LOVE to share with you all listening. Most of what I have learned as the host, Scott Spiewak, has really been from failure. We started a local house gathering the last 3/4's of a year. Through that process, we've grown as a group. But now, we've found our rhythm....and something has happened...we're having a total blast! For more information or prayer needs reach out to us at The New England Healing & Freedom Center.
In this episode we talk about nature vs nurture, epigenetics and determinism as well as hitting on intermittent fasting and its benefits.
