Miranda July is known to weird out, to stretch what we call normalcy. I feel like she is David Lynch's daughter. She'd be the comedy version of him. Anyways, Mildred Fernandez and I reviewed "Kajillionaire" about Old Dolio who never had a chance in life. I mean, her name says it all. All she wants is someone to meet her beyond what is just equal. We want to feel special. July created a film where it's screaming that without having to hear it. We see the events that unfold where a human progresses dramatically as the film goes on. This film is about being accepted, the importance of nuture and most importantly, always keep your ears on the ground because it be the closest ones out to get you. We dug the film for it's screenplay, the scenes that express the challenges the caharacters have to deal with as the film goes on, it solely pushes the story, and we also like how the film addresses traumas that are passed down and they shape people. I personally give this filmFour tokes out of FourMildred Fernandezhttp://instagram.com/tender_claws

Today on Sense of Soul we have  author and world-class, renowned decorative artist, Elisa Stancil Levine. She is a writer, a maker, and a nature lover and she joined us to share the wisdom behind her newest book “This, or Something BETTER.” In which reveals how true healing of deep wounds happens one exquisite layer at a time—and invites us each to consider and embrace our own path toward wholeness and authenticity.  When the Sonoma Complex fire came to Elisa Stancil Levine's California doorstep in 2017, her world changed overnight. The devastating fire torched thousands of acres, but for Elisa, that night that cracked her wide open. The fresh trauma of the firestorm sparked a quest: what treasure awaited if Elisa learned to trust human nature? Join us as she takes us back and revisites her painful past, shares how nature shaped her character, and it later informed her wildly successful career as the founder Stancil Studios, an award winning, nationwide decorative finishes company in San Francisco. Elisa along with partners has remodeled sixteen historic houses and was home and garden editor and feature writer for Sacramento Magazine. Hello Everyone & Welcome Back to the RealPositiveGirl Podcast!Thank you so much for joining me again!Happy Thursday! This week's theme for the podcast is: Self Growth TipsThis week I am going to be chatting about some things we all can spend time working on that would attribute to our self growth.Things like learning to be happy for others & nurturing relationships may seem like boring topics or things we don't really need to work on, but these things will really make a difference & help you strengthen your foundation for becoming your best self. Here are some notes from today's episode:I think that taking the time to nurture your relationships is important self growth because it takes time, patience & dedication to stay connected to the people in your life. And it can be very easy to get so overwhelmed & consumed with what is going on in our own lives & the struggles we are personally dealing with.Even doing something as small as calling or texting someone on the regular will help to better those relationships & show that you care for the people in your life.Taking the time to check in on others is something so super simple, but can for sure be something we take for granted or think won't be missed. This is especially true for people that deal with anxiety & find it hard to communicate with others. But making the time to connect with others will really help your relationships stay intact & continue to grow. The proof in this are those relationships that you can not talk for many months & then be able to easily pick back up again because you spent the time nurturing it previously & still have mini check-ins here & there. And relationships are super important because no one wants to do life alone. It's nice to have people around to celebrate your wins & help you through your struggles. It can also be a learning opportunity because as I have mentioned before, everyone is different & can benefit from the others' knowledge & experiences.Bonding with others, sharing life with others & having someone that's got your back is a great feeling & something to be super grateful for.But today I want to share with you some tips on how to nurture both friendships & romantic relationships.TIp #1: Embrace VulnerabilityTip #2: Be A RegularTip #3: Be Open to FeedbackTip #4: Build TrustTip #5: Set & Respect BoundariesPlease share this podcast with anyone that may need this encouragement!Thank you again for listening & I hope this episode was helpful.Come visit me on my Instagram page @realpositivegirlpodcast or @sabrinajoyperozzo to say hi!Have any questions, comments or feedback?  Send me an email at realpositivegirlpodcast@gmail.com or visit my website: www.sabrinajoy.comSee you for Friday's episode!Support the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/sabrinajoy)
