As we sprint toward the Super Bowl of fundraising — year-end giving — let's talk about something that too many of us overlook: stewardship. Recently, I joined a K-Pop Demon Hunters singalong with 250 strangers in a rainy Brooklyn room. Did I hit the right notes? Nope. Did it matter? Also nope.Because we created something beautiful together. And that's what fundraising should feel like. It's not about getting money. It's about creating moments — real, human, magical moments of connection. When we shift from being resource extractors to facilitators of meaning, something incredible happens:
In hour 4 of The Drive, Zach and Phil continue their conversation on Sean Payton's play calling. Why did Payton call so many screen passes? Should Broncos Country be questioning if Payton should still be calling plays? We hear from Sean Payton and his follow up to his "Super Bowl" comments from before the season. We hear from an emotional Peyton Manning and his thoughts on Demaryius Thomas being inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame. What did Sean Payton have to say about playing in front of the Super Bowl 50 team? We wrap up the show with John Davis joining the show to discuss where he's at with the Broncos and how this compares to comebacks in Broncos history. Zach and Phil hand out their "game balls" for the Broncos after their improbable win.
The Rams absolutely dominated the Jaguars in London, proving they're still very much a Super Bowl contender, and just how well coached/prepared they are as an entire unit. Defense was on fire from the jump, and Sean McVay called a hell of a game offensively to keep the Jaguars defense (who led the league in takeaways prior to today) in check. The Rams now coast into their bye week with a 5-2 record and will prepare for the Saints (in Sofi) in a few weeks. In the meantime, ENJOY THE WIN! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Week 7 of the Philadelphia Eagles 2025-2026 season is now in the books as they beat the Minnesota Vikings by by a score of 28-22 up in Minnesota. This was a “get right” game for this team, and while they did “get right” in some ways, they faltered in others. They are now 5-2 on the season and at the top of the NFC East division. We're continuing to see patterns of the offense still not being able to run the ball effectively. This is not a Saquon Barkley issue, but an offensive line and play calling issue. In this matchup, Barkley only averaged 2.4 yards per carry. Starting center Cam Jurgens' injury certainly didn't help. The passing attack, however, is what we've all been waiting for! Jalen Hurts put up amazing numbers and was probably the most poised we've seen since the Super Bowl. Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown had stellar games; Brown with two touchdowns and Smith with one. They absolutely dominated their coverage today. The defense was up and down throughout the game, but the good news is that on the Vikings six trips to the red zone, the scored five field goals and only one touchdown. The lack of a pass rush is still very concerning, and we're not 100% sure Brandon Graham coming back will help. As always, we gave our top themes, thoughts and opinions from the game on offense, defense, and special teams, plus we graded each unit to close out the show.SUBSCRIBE on YouTube: youtube.com/@thephiladelphiasportstableHead over to our website for all of our podcasts and more: philadelphiasportstable.comFollow us on BlueSky:Jeff: @jeffwarren.bsky.socialErik: @brickpollitt.bsky.socialFollow us on Threads:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstableFollow us on Twitter/X:Jeff: @Jeffrey_WarrenErik: @BrickPollittThe Show: @PhiladelphiaPSTFollow us on Instagram:Jeff: @mrjeffwarrenErik: @slen1023The Show: @philadelphiasportstable.Follow Jeff on TikTok: @mrjeffwarrenFollow us on Facebook: facebook.com/PhiladelphiaSportsTable
We get started talking coffee. Then a simple road-life chat about interstate numbers flipped into a full-on culture rumble: Taylor Swift as role model or red flag, Bad Bunny and the Super Bowl halftime backlash, and why every big stage now doubles as a battlefield. We don't tiptoe. We pull apart what “pushing boundaries” means for mainstream pop, whether provocation is smart art or cheap attention, and how much responsibility stars owe to young fans who adopt their style and values. From there, we tackle the tougher stuff most people feel but rarely say out loud: giving credit to political opponents, wanting cities to feel safe without turning it into a purity test, and the moment TV news drifted from reporting to outrage engines. If you've felt worn down by clickbait, AI fakes, and the endless demand to pick a side, you'll hear your own fatigue in this one—and you'll pick up practical ways to resist being emotionally farmed, like verifying sources and noticing when a headline is engineered to light you up.We also argue about who belongs on the biggest stage in American sports. Is the NFL's global strategy sacrificing the fan base that made it massive? We float a different halftime vision—country and heartland rock that match the audience—while acknowledging the business math behind controversy. And because not everything has to be a fight, we cool things off with tour-bus coffee rituals, an Alabama–Tennessee bet, and whether cold plunges actually help recovery and focus. If you're craving honest talk that respects your intelligence, welcomes disagreement, and still feels like friends on a back porch, press play. Then tell us: who should headline the Super Bowl, and what would restore your trust in the news? Subscribe, share with a friend, and drop a review with your halftime pick. The Try That in a Small Town Podcast is powered by e|spaces! One Philadelphia sports team after another bested Minnesota teams this past weekend. The trend started Friday with the Wolves' final preseason game, which they lost to the 76ers. Then, in hockey, the Flyers beat the Wild Saturday. And Sunday, the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles defeated the Vikings at home. Joining Minnesota Now host Nina Moini to recap these games and look ahead to what's next are our sports contributors, Wally Langfellow and Eric Nelson.
Seth Joyner, in-studio with the 94 WIP Morning Show, believes the Eagles poor performance in the run game is 100% the offensive line's fault. Seth believes the reason Carson Wentz's career took a dive after he was replaced in Philadelphia is because he spent so much time trying to endear himself to the fans after Nick Foles won the Super Bowl. The ghost of Nick Foles haunts Carson Wentz.
Ray Didinger was impressed with the way Jalen Hurts was connecting with his receivers. He liked the inclusion of play-action plays which they had abandoned before. He is, however, worried about the run-game. He puts most of the blame on the O-line. Ray would like to see Brandon Graham come back, he thinks it would be a great idea for a banged up defense.

Matt Jones and Drew Franklin kick off with some excitement around the Titans with a new head coach and Mike Vrabel coming back to Tennessee. Caleb Williams and the Bears make a statement, while the Falcons shocked the Bills. Is there concern over the Eagles and Bills losing to the Giants and Falcons? Matt points out the parity this season and re-ranks their Top 5. A rare fight after the Lions loss, Drew explains what happened. The Chiefs have rebounded and are back to being a contender. Drew expects Vrabel to want revenge against the Titans and the crowd could cheer their former head coach. Matt has been amazed at how big the NFL has gotten and how ratings are so much bigger than the playoffs of other sports. Is Baker Mayfield the new favorite for MVP? The Browns play the Dolphins this week and Shedeur Sanders is the backup, could he play in this game? Will the Jets win a game this season? Matt thinks the team should roll the dice on a QB rather than play Justin Fields. Matt and Drew pick their favorite 3 games in NFL Week 7. Drew is close to sounding the alarm on the Eagles if they don't find their offense this week. We wrap up with Survivor picks and TD parlays plus picking all the NFL games this weekend.
