The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

It's been over 4 years of weekly podcasts, and I'm doing something I've never done… I'm taking a break! It's going to be a short break for part of the summer, and when I come back, get ready for some big changes! The name PurposeGirl is going away… The girl is a WOMAN, and the refreshed podcast is going to reflect that! So, if you aren't already subscribed, please make sure you subscribe so you keep getting the new episodes under the new name! I am SO excited about all the amazing things coming your way when we return!   In the meantime, if you haven't already, please join the WOMAN Rising Facebook Group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1695145034048560 And if you haven't yet joined The Year of WOMAN Membership, get to it! https://carinrockind.com/woman

The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

I recently got back from leading my Wild Woman Retreat in Puerto Rico, and I'm just gonna own it… It was AMAZING! I really do lead the best women's retreats! Together we embraced the wild parts of ourselves, those parts that the patriarchy tries to suppress because our raw power threatens and scares them. Because uncovering and embracing these deeper parts of ourselves is critical to our own happiness. I'm on the verge of a major transformation right now, one in which I'm moving away from PurposeGirl and moving towards something bigger and bolder: Teaching women to be wise, wild women! My business is evolving, and it's scary, and it's also thrilling! If you're like so many women I support, you have dreams that you've been dreaming for years, but you've been held back from pursuing them by any number of fears. Well sister, the fire within you is meant to be stoked, not stamped! Join me as I talk all about: Moving from watching the thing you desire to doing the thing you desire Paying attention to your “desire fire” Doing your “joy juice” research The stress response common to women The importance of support and connection How to soothe yourself when fear arises Accurate thinking vs. thinking traps How I can help you realize your dreams To learn more about and join The Year of WOMAN Membership, go to: https://carinrockind.com/woman We're changing the world one woman at a time. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Sister, big changes are coming… for me. For you. For US. After 12 years as PurposeGirl, the name no longer fits. I'm not a “Girl” – I'm WOMAN. WE are WOMAN. So, I'm excited to share that that PurposeGirl is dissolving – and we will be reborn as The Institute of WOMAN. This is about our Reclamation. Our Becoming. Our Wholeness. Our FREEDOM. And in today's episode I take you on the very personal journey of this transformation so you understand what lies ahead for me and for all of us. I share: What this means for The PurposeGirl Podcast, our community and you (It's not going away – just growing up!) Why PurposeGirl no longer fits and what a grown man calling professional women “Girls” had to do with it. How hanging onto little people pleaser little girl tendencies kept me small When something inside no longer first, you're ready for REBIRTH What REBIRTH means and how to have one for your own evolution My own growth and evolution as a WOMAN and what that means for you Why Purpose is just one piece… and what the other pieces of our wholeness are A traumatic experience I had earlier this year around me showing up as my fullest, boldest self and being rejected and attacked for it Why it's WOMAN and not “women” – the degradation of WOMAN over time The inspiration for The Institute of WOMAN and the meaning behind the name My shift from Carin to Carina You can have a REBIRTH too. We all must in order to have the life and be the WOMAN we were born to be. So I'm gifting everyone in my community the 3 Day Experience, REBIRTH, for free, from September 20 – 22, 2022. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

2021 was an incredibly successful year for my business, PurposeGirl. There are a lot of things that contributed to this, but the number one factor is that I committed to my own pleasure. Now that might not seem particularly relevant, but taking care of my own pleasure, doing this work from a place of pleasure, has been such a game-changer for me, and in this episode I'm sharing with you how elevating the place pleasure has in my life has led to greater success. I explain: Why the more I'm in my pleasure, the more I elevate the world! How being in pleasure helped me double our business in 2021! How being in pleasure helped contribute to the success of The Women's Day Event! How a woman being in pleasure can literally help create life! Why you should focus on your own pleasure! The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

As women we have leashed ourselves to the fear that if we shine too brightly we'll make others feel bad, or that they'll judge us for it, or that we'll fail and look stupid, or that we won't be loved. We've put this leash around our own necks, or we haven't removed the leash that society has put on us, and so we tend to play small. My own leash used to be the belief that if others saw my imperfections, if I didn't have the body or the husband or the job they wanted me to have, that I wouldn't be loved. What is your own leash? I have programs that help women uncover their purpose, and that help them launch a purpose-based business, but what I've learned is that the first step to any of this is unleashing ourselves, setting ourselves free. And so I'm thrilled to announce a new program, Goddess Unleashed, to truly help women to break free of what leashes them and finally live free as the wise, wild goddess that is within them. In today's episode I talk about the four steps to unleashing: Say Goodbye to the Good Girl Rise and Alchemize Claim the Wise, Wild Woman inside Live as Her And whether or not you join Goddess Unleashed, you do NOT want to miss this episode! The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

One of the biggest things that hold back women from truly living their purpose is falling prey to the Good Girl Syndrome, saying yes when we mean no, agreeing to do things we don't really want to do, suppressing our own wants and needs in order to do what others ask or expect of us. In today's episode we're blowing up the Good Girl Syndrome so we can step into being the wise, wild, unleashed woman that we were born to be. How to know if you have Good Girl Syndrome Get clear on how being a Good Girl is impacting you and your life What to do if you're a people pleaser, you “should” all over yourself and you lack boundaries How to know when to say “yes” and when to say “no” How to take back your power, and shift from being a Good Girl to becoming a wise, wild, unleashed woman. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Think about some of the things that really make you happy. Now, how often do you do them? Probably not as often as you really, truly could, right? And why is that? If you're like me and so many others, your brain probably comes up with a whole host of reasons why you can't do some of the things that would really make you happy! This is so common, AND, this is something you can change! In today's episode I talk about: Why our brains throw up roadblocks to doing what makes us happy. How we can overcome those blocks. How I shifted from, “I can't,” to, “How can I?” and how you can, too. The judger path vs. the learner path, and how this framework can help you view your options very differently. The importance of both/and, instead of either/or. This is SUCH a juicy episode! I want to welcome AnaLuisa as a new sponsor of The PurposeGirl Podcast! The key to going higher, sister, is not abundance or pleasure or joy. Sure those things are great, but the thing that really gets you higher (and takes all the people around you with you) is gratitude.  And today's episode is the audio from this week's PowerUp with PurposeGirl, a weekly teaching I give on Wednesdays at 2pm EST (at least as of now) in the PurposeGirl Facebook Group (which if you're not a part of, you can join at the links below!).  In this PowerUp with PurposeGirl, I tell you about and share my immense gratitude for all the incredible things that are happening in my life. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

I have been honest with all of you that pretty much all my life I have suffered from anxiety. And the last few years, between all my miscarriages, running a business, now having a baby… I can frequently feel not only the mental and emotional strains of my anxiety and stress, but also the physical ones. I am seriously SO happy in life, but my body still feels the physical pain of stress. And I, like so many of us, need to learn how to care for our physical bodies and how to destress. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm fortunate to be joined by soul sister Katy Kern, a wellness practitioner and coach who offers a holistic approach to stress relief. Katy is a recent graduate of my Goddess on Fire Business Mastermind – which is opening for enrollment soon! Be on the lookout! – and I have loved watching her step into her purpose and into her purpose-based business. Katy and I of course talking about stress and long-term healing, but she also walks me through some relief exercises that you can follow along to, too. By bringing multiple tools and resources together, Katy facilitates long-term relief from pain, management of stress, and ultimate well-being. Katy shares with us how attending to a yoga practice some years ago was the starting point of her very own healing journey, through which she has learnt several ways of approaching a balanced well-being of body and mind.  Katy and I talk about: How there are many levels of healing and pain relief, and all need to be addressed to really get to a state of relaxation. The science behind the physical response to stress, so you can understand why getting a massage feels good but then days later you're ready for the next one… Actions you can take on a regular basis to help heal your own body, physically and emotionally. How to learn your own body's cues so you can adjust as needed. A walk through of a self-massage and acupressure session that you can do on your own at home. About Katy Kern: Katy is a wellness practitioner and coach, offering a holistic approach to stress relief. “Girls can be really, really mean.” How many times have you thought, felt, or said that? So many women I work with – me included – have deeply seeded sisterhood wounds. So many women I connect with share that they were isolated, rejected, teased, and even bullied by the girls we thought were our friends when we were younger. It's painful, embarrassing, and has long lasting impacts. It's one of them many reasons why the work we do here at PurposeGirl is so important: to heal the wounds of sisterhood and learn how to lift other women up from a place of authenticity and joy. Because sister, there's enough of everything – clients, money, time, joy, leadership, opportunity, connection, and more – for ALL of us. Your success is not at the deficit or loss of another woman, it is to HER benefit, too! Just like her success is yours.  So sisters, in this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm fortunate to be joined by Molly Galbraith, cofounder of Girls Gone Strong (GGS), the world's largest platform providing evidence-based, interdisciplinary health, fitness, nutrition, and pregnancy education for women and the health and fitness professionals who work with them. In this episode, Molly and I dig into: How we all have likely been on the receiving and giving side of a Sisterhood wound, and how that can be reversed in adulthood. The fact that much of our society creates a false sense of scarcity for leadership and “success”, which leads to the development of a false hierarchy amongst women, that ultimately creates a system of competition. Tools you can use to turn your jealousy and comparison into inspiration and opportunity. Some details about Molly's brand new book! Today I took a pause to appreciate and feel grateful for my life. I still find myself in such wonder as I watch my 9-month-old son, Shay, view the world with such curiosity and excitement. I've been trying to instill some of the same in my own life. To slow everything down and find the beauty in all that is around me. Maybe you had a long day, or you're feeling tired after several hours of work and parenting, or you're having trouble letting go of the way you handled something. The anxiety and stress may be overwhelming. But, sister, I got you. Today's episode of the PurposeGirl Podcast is a guided meditation in which I'll lead you to feel gratitude and joy, as well as help you to envision the purposeful life you desire to create for yourself. So, go find a quiet space, get yourself comfortable, and prepare to dive deep into this wonderful purpose meditation. Want more PurposeGirl?? Ready to be your full Goddess on Purpose self? The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Each little action counts, sister. And my guest today is the perfect example of this in practice. If each of us believes our actions have impact, we WILL change the world. It's a choice, though, to believe we have impact and agency, and that if we put our minds to anything huge, we will be able to achieve it. Colleen Osborne, my soul sister, multi-time client – literally, this incredible woman was in Goddess on Purpose and then my business Mastermind, Goddess on Fire - and friend is going to be the President of the United States. Okay, maybe not, but she is an incredible leader and a perfect example of making a big difference with small actions that matter. Colleen and I are talking about: What small actions Colleen has taken in her own world that has changed the lives of countless people around her. How to get around Imposter Syndrome so that you can do everything your heart desires boldly and bravely! The key to taking the first step in leveling yourself up. Did you know that life eventually gets better as you age—no matter what? At least it does from the perspective of all round wisdom. I begin this show with an essay titled, ‘How Accepting Hardships Makes Us Wiser After Sixty’… because, yeah, my knocks have been my greatest wake up calls. My greatest teachers. And while we’re on the subject of big life truths… What does it take to be truly happy in life—in a bone deep kind of way that rocks your soul every day? It can be done, and it requires living your purpose. My guest Carin Rockind is nothing short of passionate and inspiring. She will get your engine going on so many aspects of going after the things you love, and what could be a better form of self-care! Among other things, we discussed: What is life purpose? And what are its three components? Is being a stay at home mom enough of a purpose? Is it okay not to make money from your purpose? Purpose anxiety and how it affects us The interesting notion of Post Traumatic Growth Does the Universe actually help us with this purpose stuff? It’s a meaty show… may you enjoy the process of saying ‘YES’ to you! The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

What's my purpose? How do I figure it out? Where do I even start?   In this episode, I break it allll down for you: Why purpose has been so hard to “find”, where you need to start, the first step you need to take, questions and inquiries to journal on to get there and taking imperfect powerful action.   I seriously make it sooo simple.   Women come to me usually in one of two places: “I have absolutely NO CLUE what my purpose is, please help me find it” OR “I know my purpose, but I don't know what to do next/with it.”   My PurposeGirl Process works either way, but in today's episode, I'm answering what to do if you don't know your purpose at all.   There are 5 steps to take and they will likely surprise you as it doesn't begin with thinking about what “career” you want.   Rather I believe that the question “What do you want to BE when you grow up” has messed us up both in terms of career and purpose. Maybe you want to “be” more than 1 thing! Purpose comes down to BE, DO, IMPACT and I'm excited to share it all with you!   In this episode, I'm talking about: How you've been looking for purpose in the wrong places and how to change that What purpose anxiety is, the science behind how it is actually holding us BACK from uncovering purpose, and how we get out of it The true definition of purpose and how to apply it to your life Defining “your part” in repairing the world What you need to get curious about   The major components of Purpose Want to be a Goddess on Purpose? The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Ever feel anxious about Purpose? Like what is the first step?? I got you. When stressed about Purpose, women are typically in one of two places: You know your purpose and don't know what to do next, or you have absolutely no idea what your purpose is. Today's episode addresses both to give you the first step either way. My guests are two incredible soul sisters, two of my dear friends and clients, two Goddess on Purpose alum who each found me in one of those places: Deahna Byrd-Taylor and April Codd.  Deahna knew exactly what her purpose was – to to be a holistic health coach – but didn't know what steps to take to make that purpose and passion into a career. She was stuck in fear. April didn't even know what the word purpose meant when she first found me. She just knew that she felt unhappy, stuck, and going through the mundane motions of life. Two totally different blocks, and through the coaching and support each woman received in the Goddess on Purpose program, they have both taken not just steps but HUGE jumps towards purpose. Using their examples, in this episode I will teach you how to pursue your purpose, taking that first step. In this episode, April, Deahna and I talk about: What to do if you don't know your purpose and you don't know where to start How to get unstuck when fear paralyzes you What Sisterhood has to do with Purpose and what to do if “mean girls” have taken down your self-esteem in the past. How to discover what is possible for you  How impactful the Goddess on Purpose program was for these two very different women and what it will do for you The way to amplify success  The two words that will dictate your life (I bet you can guess what they are) Want more PurposeGirl?? MJ (Mary Jane) Grant shares with us how being a proud CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults) defined her life purpose – translating and interpreting the human heart.  For MJ, being a CODA wasn't “pain” or “struggle,” but the world is not set up to support deaf people. People would call her parents dumb, and now caring for her mother with dementia, she's risen up to share the very real experience and challenge with others in a documentary. She will open and break your heart and show you how to persevere with joy, grit, and purpose. You will LOVE her and this episode! It's a fact that no one is exempt from going through tough times. More often than we'd like we find ourselves dealing with really difficult situations than can be frustrating and unfair, making us feel powerless. But even though most of us may fall into these negative ways of feeling, we ALSO can find truly meaningful gifts hidden among the adversity.   In this episode, MJ and I laugh (she's become a good friend), we cry, we dish on joy and rollerblading and all things to rise up from trauma. She's a lifelong learner who grew up with a passion for connection and skillful, nuanced communication, excelling in the daily work of connecting others while opening hearts along the way. In this episode, MJ and I discuss the following: The importance of accepting yourself -and HOW to accept yourself – plus how not doing so can lead to identity struggle, depression or worse. How to overcome external judgements. How to turn hard situations into fertilizer for personal growth. An upcoming new paradigm that embraces difference and accepts everybody as special in a unique way. Regardless of how hopeless a context may seem, remember – you always get to choose! Watch “So Happy to Meet You”, the short documentary MJ did for the International Dementia Conference that was founded by HammondCare in Australia (https://youtu.be/3py3DHOfW2w). You can check out the journey she has documented at her Instagram and Twitter account (@mjgrant) and also at her YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4eyyELBabLfNrHMsEeBNMg). Bye for now! XO, Carin About Mary Jane Grant Mary Jane Grant AKA MJ came into the world with a magical curiosity for life. Born to two Deaf parents in Sanford, Maine, MJ is a lifelong learner who excels in the daily work of connecting others while opening hearts along the way. She is a proud CODA (Child Of Deaf Adults) and a native user of American Sign Language (ASL), who grew up with a passion for connection and skillful, nuanced communication. MJ has learned, loved and thrived through every chance encounter with the individuals she has met along the way. Her joyful, intuitive nature reflects a warmhearted tenderness and instinctual resilience that emerged early in life and led to a career as a professional sign language interpreter. She has worked with Deaf communities across the U.S. while managing her company, Mary Jane Grant Sign Language Interpreting Services, in between moments of happy chaos at home. But her real gift in the most simple terms? She translates and interprets the human heart. In recent years, MJ walked alongside her father, who passed in 2019, after his battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy while being the primary caregiver for her mother who is living with dementia. Having navigated the healthcare system, MJ discovered the tremendous barriers to care for Deaf seniors. It is MJ's mission to open the hearts of others and ensure her mother, Carmen, as well as every other Deaf senior, has access to the highest quality care to live their best life possible.

Have you ever felt: “There has to be MORE than this”? I have, so in this episode I help you figure out what that means and how to get it. Years ago in my first marriage, I kept feeling “There has to be MORE.” The same in my old career. I wanted “more.” But I remember not even being sure what I wanted “more” of. Ever felt that way? You want more, but not more busy-ness or stuff. Rather, you want more fulfillment, more vibrancy, more aliveness, more purpose! In this episode, we get to the heart of what you ACTUALLY desire, what would REALLY fill you, and what “MORE” means to you. I firmly believe 100% that you can “have it all” – I do and I want you to also. You just need to know what that means to you, and let go of what it doesn't. You need the tools to do it. In this episode, I take you step by step through a powerful coaching tool for you to figure out exactly what you want and so that you can take steps to create it in your life. Grief is one of the most powerful emotions in the spectrum, so being able to actively harness it and make that shit into fertilizer can truly change everything for you. There is power in that deep emotion. There is power in your pain, sister. And we are here as your sisters to witness you wielding it. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm fortunate to be joined by Sara Chizek, a Grief and Sensuality Coach who empowers women to harness the energy of grief, anger, stuckness and turn this energy into joy, pleasure and power to unlock their desires. Sara shares with us how losing her father at the age of 4 lead her to do some serious questioning of her beliefs in her adulthood. She has harnessed her grief and used it to power for goodness in her life. In this episode, Sara and I discuss the following: How so much of what you may be seeking to numb – consciously or subconsciously – is much more nurture than nature. The common source of our need for validation. How emotions are stored physically in the body, and how this has an impact on our overall health. How grief is actually useful data for us. How most people are afraid of facing grief since they believe that if they “go there” they won't be able to make it back. Sara leads us through a practice on grief, one that is powerful and transformative that I know you will find useful. You can learn more about Sara's work on her official web page (https://sarachizek.com/). You can also follow her on Instagram (@thesarachizek) and facebook (@sara.chizek). Last but not least, don't forget to check out “Grieve and Glow”, her 10-week group program to make grief your superpower and reclaim your sensual radiance, beginning in February 2021. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Happiest Thanksgiving, my love. This week's episode is all about one of my very favorite things: Gratitude. 2020 has been hard, but it's taught all of us what's important. My gratitude list is long this year – longer than it has been ever before. So in this episode, I share My Grateful 8 (okay, it's a lot more than just 8, but what can I say, I celebrate that I'm good at being grateful!), I provide you with the science on why gratitude is so good for us (and the lasting effects of it on our overall happiness), plus I share gratitude tools and games you can play right now to improve relationships and your life. No matter who is around your Thanksgiving table this year – or if Thanksgiving is even a happy holiday at all in your home – we can all choose gratitude in our lives every day. I would love to hear about your Grateful 8, so please share that with me if you wish to. In this episode I share: The people and things I'm most grateful for this year Personal stories that contributed to my deep gratitude The science of gratitude and how it has lasting impacts on your life Gratitude games you can play around the Thanksgiving table – even from a distance! The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

If you've been around for the last couple months, you know my big news – I became a mother! I love it so much – and I don't shy away from talking about the hard parts. Motherhood can bring about a new type of anxiety and a new type of depression. And many women – including me – even experience a feeling of distance from our babies that is scary and confusing and so. Damn. Hard. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm fortunate to be joined by Chiara Townley, a woman who caught my attention because she wrote an article entitled “It Took Me Months to Love My Baby and I Don't Feel Guilty About It” in Good Housekeeping magazine. I mean, HELLO?! It was like she took my story, my feelings, and shared it. In this episode, Chiara and I talk about the challenges of becoming a new mom, and how she moved past the depression to find inner peace, plus how all of us can find inner peace through any and every challenge. In this episode, Chiara and I discuss: The overwhelming, confusing, sad feelings many women experience when they become mothers and how those feelings are valid and normal. Discovering your essence. How to discover and live your soul purpose. The connection between the physical manifestation of our fears, anxieties, and depressions and how they connect to the chakras, our mindset, and energy fields. How affirmations of self-love can heal you as a woman, and a mother. She leads me through a breathing and energy meditation that you can follow along. The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

We all have dreams. Huge, amazing, juicy dreams. And maybe we feel like they're not possible. And maybe it's because we don't see people who look like us doing those things. But you can shatter any glass ceiling, and we saw proof of that in this year's election results. Regardless of your politics it's so inspiring to see people who really represent America's beautiful diversity getting recognized and elected. The value of inspiration or the feeling of being inspired is not just the juicy feeling itself – the value of inspiration is that it breathes life into us and shows us what already exists in our truest selves. Think about it - when we are inspired by someone or something that they've done, it speaks to the part of us that says, “me too. I want that, too.” This year's election has allowed a lot of people to say “me too” who have never had the chance to. And that, my love, is so inspiring.   In this solo episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I talk about how this election was one of inspiration, how it provided millions of people all over the world with positive evidence of what is possible for them, and of course how much I freaking LOVED Madame Vice President-Elect's (AH, I cannot believe I get to call her that!) Suffragette white pant suit. I mean, where do I get one!?  We talk about all the firsts that happened this election: everything from Kamala's win, to the first two gay, black men getting elected to congress, the first openly trans congressperson, the first Korean – American elected to congress, and so much more.   In this episode, I talk about: The importance of celebrating the glass-ceiling-shattering events that occurred this week, regardless of political affiliation. Inspiration leading to creativity, which leads to endless possibility and opportunity. What confirmation bias is and how this week was an example of moving the lever. PurposePower Tips on how to break any glass ceiling, how to cultivate a list of your desires to allow you to dream and achieve, and how to take action. Want more PurposeGirl?? The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

How do you feel about your job? Love it? Hate it? Wish it were different? So often, women come to me wanting a NEW job. A true and aligned purpose – and I love supporting that. AND, sometimes, we can make your current job your DREAM job. Is your job aligned with your inner values and connected with your personal strengths? Does it allow you to pursue your purpose? If you answered to ‘no' any of these questions, I wouldn't be surprised. That is where I used to be in my job and now that I know what the opposite feels like (I LOVE being PurposeGirl!) I know I can never go back! Research has proven that 60 to 70% of people don't feel engaged to their jobs and working environment – and this number is likely higher this year because of COVID-19. But hold on! Before you decide to quit, give yourself a moment to breathe, to take some time off, and ask yourself some meaningful questions that will allow you to really uncover what actually turn you on at work. Sometimes, it is not about changing the work you do, but switching your own perspective about it. This episode is all about loving the job YOU ALREADY HAVE. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm fortunate to be joined by Carson Tate, founder and managing partner of Working Simply, Inc., a business consulting firm that partners with organizations, business leaders and employees to enhance workplace productivity, foster employee engagement, and build personal and professional legacies. Carson shares with us her 5 pillars to “Job Crafting,” and explains in detail how reframing your point of view – if you are a positive psychology gal like me, you'll know this also as mindset! - can have a major positive effect on your own job satisfaction and the satisfaction of your coworkers and your bosses. In her very own words: “Any job can be your dream job, because you define the dream.” In this episode, Carson and I dig in on: How to do “Job Crafting” – making any job one you love Carson's 5 pillars to job crafting How to ASK for anything you want from your boss, partner, or anyone! How important recognition is, and how to get more of it (‘cause you deserve it, love!). How to distinguish the tasks we like to from those we don't – clarity creates opportunity! How to make your job more meaningful How we're all threatened by things like autonomy and fairness and and how to use it to your advantage. Can you believe it's been already four months since I became a mom!? Shay coming into my life was a dream come true, but it certainly has not been easy. Motherhood has been beautiful, wonderful, pleasurable, and fun. But motherhood has also been frustrating, depressing, so challenging, and uncertain. And since becoming a mom and experiencing all of this firsthand, I've realized something so important: there is a myth that circles the parenthood community of what makes a good mama. This myth is causing us so much emotional damage; we're talking about it today.   Along the way I dive into… The myths of what it means to be a good mom and how not being able to do certain things can make us feel like we're failing. The expectation on moms to be able to do everything alone and look good doing it. The fact that making time for self-care during maternity doesn't make you a bad mother. How joining a mom's community can be extremely helpful when it comes to receiving support. Want more PurposeGirl?? Ready to be your full Goddess on Purpose self? The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

What are you biggest, juiciest intimate desires? If you don't know, you're not alone. As women, we're taught from a young age to prioritize the needs of others at the expense of their own. We are taught that our pleasures and desires aren't nearly as important as those of the other people in our lives – especially the men. It's time for women to take back their pleasure, and insert it into everything they do.   In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I interview my soul sister and Burning Man roomie, the Pleasure and Intimacy guru, Aimee Batuski - and we have such a fun, delicious conversation about how women can have turned-on, connected, satisfying lives. As the co-founder of Desire on Fire and the host of The Pleasure Revolution Podcast, Aimee shares how we can tap into our deepest and most intimate desires so that we can transform our current reality into a pleasurable and “juicy” way of living – because we deserve it! In this episode, Aimee and I discuss: How to connect with your body and to what really turns you on What to do with jealousy and complaints A simple question to bring aliveness into your life Why Sisterhood matters The Desire Cycle – what the cycle is an how to implement it to get what you want in life The power of vulnerability   Connect with Aimee on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/desireonfire  and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/aimeebatuski or https://www.instagram.com/desireonfire). On a scale from -10 to +10, how happy are you? If your score is not that high, then you're not alone. Aside from COVID, the anxiety of our current times and more, it's a fact that women are less happy than men, less happy than women were 30 years ago, and less confident than men in nearly every profession. This has to change. Women are so courageous, so resilient, so powerful and amazing that we should be TWICE AS HAPPY! So we deserve better and so do all of the people in our lives. As the saying goes, “When mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!” Ladies – in this episode, I share the main reasons why women are less happy than men – hello perfectionism, self-doubt, body loathing, ruminating, and more – and I share how to SHIFT THEM ALL! Specifically, I discuss: The main causes of women's Unhappiness and how to fix them all Why perfectionism and comparison are ruining our lives Why ruminating is killing our JOY How to take small and big steps to change your happiness and life Why your mindset matters PLUS, the Women's Happiness MasterClass called “Wildly, Passionately, HAPPY” is going down on October 18, 2020, Women's Global Happiness Day! If you've wanted to start a business, or you have one, but it feels hard and overwhelming, listen to this episode because my guest is bringing pleasure to profit. What if business could be fun? Could be filled with PLEASURE? It's not news – traditionally, the idea of business is not linked to anything related to enjoying ourselves or having fun. But actually, scientific research has proven that when we are in a “pleasure frequency,” we become more aligned with a feeling of receiving, we attract more people and opportunities, we see more possibilities and tap into creative ways of dealing with any given situation. It's called having a “Pussy-Based Business” and it means that pleasure is the answer to a female-owned business. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, my colleague, soul sister, friend, and mentor, Julia Wells - one of the most authentic, badass voices in the coaching space, who has grown her business to a million dollars in just one year – joins me. She's found ways to be consistent in entrepreneurship and revenues while still being a free flowing, world traveling goddess of pleasure. Julia shares how you can create your own Pussy-based, pleasure-based business with effective strategies. Julia and I discuss the following: How you can access pleasure immediately, in any moment Why pleasure changes the way you feel: Instead of being in your head (over thinking, self doubting, trying to please others) you switch to living in your body How to use pleasure to your advantage for creating or growing your business Mindset tricks and tips to grow your business and life Different ways of training your brain in just 15 minutes You can connect with Julia on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/visibleaf) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/juliamotherfuckingwells). The PurposeGirl Podcast: Empowering women to live their purpose with courage, joy, and fierce self-love.

Have you ever asked yourself what is the legacy that you want to leave? What do you want people to think of you and how would you like to be remembered? Though tapping into your true purpose can be a hard thing to do when you're not sure of what that is, beginning by thinking about the legacy you want to leave can have a massive impact on your life. With Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passing away, I've been thinking a lot about legacy. Hers was ensuring women could have a credit card, buy their own home and play sports. Hers was equal rights for women. I'm sad and devastated she's gone, but her death is breathing new life into me – into many of us! So what is your legacy? She's now passed the baton to us PurposeGirls so that we can rise up and live our purpose NOW. In this episode of the PurposeGirl Podcast I dive deep into legacy – what it is and how to get clear on yours. It requires courage and bravery, but I know you have it. This is our moment, Sister! PLUS, I share that the waitlist for the next Goddess on Purpose Class is now OPEN!! Goddess on Purpose is my 8-week course to discover your purpose and get the courage and motivation to move forward on it! I'll teach you the 8 steps to Purpose and by the end of the course, you'll not only be clear, but be in ACTION! Can you imagine having ME coach you LIVE for 2 months??!! Plus a supportive Sisterhood lifting you up and cheering you on? Now is when we need this most! All women on the waitlist get $200 off the course and will be in an intimate half-day MasterMind with me if you register early! The course starts October 13 and the waitlist early bird discount ends Sept. 29, so get on the waitlist NOW by emailing team@purposegirl.com! Specifically, in the episode, I talk about… What legacy is and why it's important How to discover your legacy How we can learn from our painful experiences and then pass on that wisdom to others When our resilience is challenged, how to turn all the negativity into fuel to move forward Encouraging creative experimentation without being afraid of “failing” is crucial to unleash our true inner talents The impact that acknowledging our legacy can have on ourselves, the people around us, and future generations Also, I'm sending my love to RBG's family and loved ones Want more PurposeGirl?? Have you ever thought “I want to write a book… I have a story to tell... I know my story could help people…” But, you've held yourself back in fear not knowing how to do it, or feeling like a fraud, or wondering who would read your story anyhow? Have you held yourself back in self-doubt? This episode is for you. In this episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm joined by Christine Kloser, a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, coach and publisher that trains entrepreneurs and leaders to write their transformational books. In this episode, Christine and I discuss the following: How to shift your energy to write your story Why feeling bad about yourself hinders the process The three fundamental blocks: lack of clarity, self doubt and (the illusion of) not having enough time. The deep personal transformation of the people who succeed in getting their story out: they feel seen, heard and value. Do you consider yourself to be an optimist or a pessimist? Actually, whether you choose one over the other, technically, you'd be wrong. Psychological studies have proven that optimism and pessimism are not invariable character traits, but moldable features related to our way of thinking. And here's the good news: No matter what your circumstances are - optimistic thinking is something that anyone can learn! Along the way I talk about… The benefits of an optimistic way of thinking, and how it helps us achieve better physical and mental health, professional success and quality relationships. The “explanatory style” – Analyzing how we explain a difficult situation in order to transform our mental habits. The importance of becoming aware of our own response to adversity and challenge, so that we can actually to do something about it. Four really powerful tips: the “ABCDE” thinking, the “worst case, best case, most likely scenario” technique, the Genius of Hope, and Desire. When I first started PurposeGirl I started with the dream of creating a movement of women coming together in their power and shifting the world for the better. I've always been fascinated by movements of women that start organically, where women gather and take a stand for something together. My guest today has created such a movement, a movement that has been leading people to feel empowered in their minds and bodies. My guest today is Sadie Lincoln, the co-founder and CEO of barre3. In today's episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, Sadie talks about: Working out at home shortly after the birth of her first child and what she learned about listening to her own inner voice. The importance of paying attention to what she really needs, and the importance of building a company by paying attention to what people really need. The need to be intentional in defying the countless messages coming at us that attempt to disempower us around our bodies. How some member of the fitness community send exactly the wrong kinds of messages, and how barre3 is different. The emphasis on encouraging modifications at barre3, where members are taught many variations on poses and exercises so they can choose what to do based on what their bodies really need, thereby empowering them to choose for themselves. A new way of thinking about what it means to be a badass. What it means to be empowered from within. The impact of having been raised by a sisterhood of women. How the idea of belonging and community is core to barre3. The importance of having one's business be driven by purpose. Getting clear on your distilled essence is the hardest thing you'll do. The importance of self-awareness practices. Barre3 retreats You can learn more about and follow barre3 on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/barre3company), Twitter (https://twitter.com/barre3), and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/barre3 and https://www.instagram.com/sadielincoln/). Note: In this episode Sadie talks about an upcoming barre3 retreat, but this interview was recorded shortly before the coronavirus spread throughout the United States, so dates have changed since the recording of this interview. Bye for now! About Sadie Lincoln Sadie Lincoln is the co-founder and CEO of barre3, a fitness company focused on teaching people to be balanced in body and empowered from within. Starting in 2008 with the flagship studio in Portland, Oregon, barre3 has grown to include more than 140 franchise studios powered by female entrepreneurs, plus an online-workout streaming-subscriber base in 98+ countries. What started as a workout has blossomed into a full-blown movement made up of millions of people focused on body positivity, being empowered, and redefining what success in fitness means. Sadie is on Inc.'s Female Founders 100 list, has been featured on NPR's How I Built This, and speaks regularly on the topics of mindful leadership, the power of body wisdom, and the movement to redefine what success in fitness means. Beyond running her company and being a global spokesperson, Sadie still enjoys teaching barre3 classes to many of her founding clients in her hometown of Portland, Oregon.

We're living through chaotic times right now. People are concerned about their health, their jobs, their communities, their kids, the economy… If we aren't intentional, we can get pulled down by all of the uncertainty and fear. But that's not what I want for you. In today's episode I teach you how to shift from the feelings of helplessness and fear to a place of resilience and purpose. Here are some of the key points I address: You are definitely entitled to feel all the feelings – fear, anger, frustration, doubt… It is necessary to feel these things. I talk about ways to let these emotions out, ways to move them out of your body after feeling them. With the current global pandemic, knowing and living your purpose is more important than ever before. It truly helps people not only make it through but thrive. Focusing on how we can be useful instead of on the challenging situation we're in helps move us forward. Our happiness and wellbeing rests on smaller decisions that we make throughout the day, every day, more than on our genetics and our background. I offer ways that you can be purposeful right now. I announce my brand new Goddess On Purpose course, an 8 week online course for you to uncover your purpose and create a path forward, the last live program that I'm offering before my baby arrives. Because of Coronavirus, we need tips and tools to boost immunity, stay positive, and regain hope, and in this episode, I give you all my tools. Suddenly, many of us have had our lives changed in ways we couldn't have predicted, and we're now quarantined or sheltering in place, practicing social distancing, and pretty much staying at home. Many are struggling with anxiety and fear for what their future holds, but we can also use this time to go inwards, to be more contemplative, to ponder the bigger questions about our life and our purpose. For so many of us, our lives have been busy and chaotic and overwhelming and go-go-go. Being busy and always doing has been a badge of honor, but we can use this time to slow down, reconnect with what matters - those we love, and ourselves. We can use this time for purpose. To discover who we are and what we want in life. In today's episode I show you ways you can work with your stress right now, rise above it, and use this time to move towards and support your highest, most purposeful selves. I talk about My morning routine from a few weeks ago, when I delivered Amazon's keynote for International Women's Day, and the day before giving it I was told that instead of a room of 600 people it would be entirely live-streamed. I was stressed and frustrated, and I share with you the tools I used to shift this so that I gave an outstanding, inspiring talk. The impact of movement, and moving stress out of our bodies. How regular exercise helps strengthen our immune system, so important right now in our current situation, and I offer tips for getting your exercise. The importance of proper and focused breathing to our wellbeing. The benefits of a regular meditation practice and tips for getting started. The health benefits of smiling and laughing. Having gratitude for what we do have instead of frustration over what we don't have, and a simple gratitude practice that everyone should be doing. The health benefits of nature, and how you can get your nature fix even if you need to stay indoors. The importance of community, of finding sisterhood. I announce my upcoming Goddess On Purpose course, for which the doors will be opening a few days after this episode is published. Reach out to my team (josh@purposegirl.com) to get on the waitlist, or to register if the doors have opened by the time you hear this. In today's episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, Liz talks about: What motivated her to take on this incredibly impressive feat. Some of the internal struggles she endured in pursuing this, including acceptance of the unknown and a recognition that she was going to fail along the way. How she chose the local organizations that she is supporting. Some of the NGO's she supports, including Free to Run (Afghanistan), Empower Her (Côte d'Ivoire), and She Is Egypt (Egypt). And yet, time and time again I've managed to push through, persevere, and rise again. And, if you're like many of the women I know and with whom I've worked, you have, too. Not sure if you remember these toys, but a friend told me years ago that I'm like a Weeble – “Weebles wobble but they don't fall down!” I think that's such a great description! In today's episode I talk about Positive psychology, the scientific study of human flourishing The concept of learned helplessness and what this means for our own lives The cycle of thought – feeling – behavior Optimistic versus pessimistic thinking Shifting from seeing things as happening TO you to happening FOR you How we can cultivate our own resilience and strength in the face of challenges How we can shift our way of thinking so we rise up stronger than ever It would really mean a lot to me if you would go to Apple Podcasts and leave me a review (hopefully a great one!), leave a 5 star rating, subscribe to this podcast so you never miss an episode, and download the episodes! Have you ever been SO angry that you wanted to smash something, throw something against the wall, or even hit someone? It's perfectly normal to feel anger and frustration, but we need to have appropriate outlets for these more challenging emotions or we'll end up doing something destructive, like taking it out on someone. In today's episode of The PurposeGirl Podcast, I'm joined by Aria Tru, NLP Transformational Life Coach and founder of Women Breaking Plates, an organization she formed to give women a fun, cathartic way to break free of old habits, patterns, traumas, and emotions. As the name of the organization suggests, at Women Breaking Plates events, women have the opportunity to write on plates the things that no longer serve them, things they want to get rid of, and then shatter them. This is part of a larger event in which women support each other, are supported by a variety of healers, and take physical actions that help make shifts in their own bodies and in their lives. In this episode, Aria talks about: The importance of recognizing that one is able to change, and making a decision and taking steps to change How traumatic events enter our bodies through our five senses and how we need to learn new ways to rewire our system to process and release the traumas Our sacred rage that needs to be expressed Instead of thinking about having emotional blockages, see it as emotions that haven't yet been expressed The importance of acknowledging and listening to the hurt parts of ourselves The Empowerment Parties held by Women Breaking Plates The Full Body YES! You can learn more about Aria Tru at her website (https://www.womenbreakingplates.com/), follow her on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/WomenBreakingPlates/) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/womenbreakingplates/), and check out a video of an Empowerment Party on YouTube (https://youtu.be/heHxW6RhrDo).
