Nicole Daedone is an American author, entrepreneur, and advocate best known for popularizing Orgasmic Meditation (OM), a mindfulness practice combining meditation and physical connection. She is the founder of OneTaste, a company that taught OM as a pathway to deeper intimacy and personal transformation. Daedone also authored Slow Sex: The Art and Craft of the Female Orgasm, which explores her philosophy of mindfulness and connection in relationships.OneTaste gained widespread attention for its unique approach to sexual wellness, praised for innovation but also criticized for alleged high-pressure sales tactics and cult-like dynamics. In recent years, Daedone and OneTaste have faced serious allegations, including accusations of human trafficking, labor exploitation, and creating a coercive environment for participants and employees. In 2023, Daedone and a former executive were indicted on charges related to forced labor, which they have denied.Beyond her work with OneTaste, Daedone has explored broader spiritual themes, including conducting workshops on “cancelling as a spiritual practice.” These workshops reportedly focused on addressing societal judgments and exploring the dynamics of public shaming and social exclusion. Her framing of cancellation as a spiritual inquiry has been both lauded for its boldness and criticized for its potential to deflect accountability.Daedone remains a polarizing figure, with a legacy marked by innovative contributions to discussions on intimacy and sexuality, alongside ongoing scrutiny over her methods and the ethical implications of her practices.https://www.instagram.com/nicoledaedone/Some Thoughts on Cancel CultureThe harms of cancel culture can be significant, particularly when it is applied in ways that prioritize public shaming or social exclusion over dialogue and accountability. Here are some key concerns often raised:1. Erosion of NuanceCancel culture often thrives in environments like social media, where complex issues are reduced to soundbites or hashtags. This can lead to oversimplified narratives that fail to capture the context or intent behind someone's actions or words.2. Chilling Effects on Free ExpressionThe fear of being "cancelled" can discourage individuals from expressing opinions, even in good faith, or from engaging in meaningful conversations about controversial topics. This can stifle intellectual and cultural progress.3. Lack of Due ProcessIn many cases, accusations and judgments are made in the court of public opinion rather than through established processes. This can lead to disproportionate consequences, especially when individuals are denied the opportunity to explain or defend themselves.4. Impact on Mental HealthBeing publicly "cancelled" can result in severe emotional and psychological distress for the individual targeted. It may also have financial and professional repercussions, contributing to a sense of isolation and despair.5. Risk of Mob MentalityCancel culture can sometimes foster mob behavior, where collective outrage escalates without critical examination. This may amplify harm and encourage performative, rather than meaningful, activism.6. Undermining RedemptionA culture of cancellation often leaves little room for growth, learning, or redemption. When individuals are permanently ostracized, it can discourage them—and others—from engaging in restorative or educational efforts.7. Collateral DamageCancellations can affect not only the targeted individuals but also their families, colleagues, and communities. Entire organizations or movements can suffer when a single individual's actions lead to broad-based condemnations.8. Misuse as a Tool of...

In June 2023, something shocking happened to Nicole Daedone, founder of OneTaste, which was once one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. OneTaste defined itself as a sexuality-focused wellness company dedicated to spreading the word about OMing or orgasmic meditation. That's a practice that involves an individual methodically stroking a partner's clitoris. Federal prosecutors indicted Daedone on charges of forced labor conspiracy. The government alleges that she “intentionally recruited individuals who had suffered prior trauma.” Daedone pleaded not guilty and faces up to 20 years in prison. I spoke to Daedone in November 2022 in a wide-ranging discussion of women's sexuality and the claims leveled against her involving sexual abuse. You won't want to miss what she has to say. “Now What?” is produced with the help of Steve Zimmer, Lucy Little and Cameryn Yarber. Audio production is by Nick Ciavatta.

Ruwan Meepagala is a podcaster and coach. In his early twenties, he became involved in the matriarchal cult, known as One Taste, which was recently covered in the Netflix documentary Orgasm Inc. Ruwan describes his time with the group as one of the most formative experiences of his life, giving him a crash course in some of the darker parts of human nature. The memoir of his years in the cult, along with his other writing and podcasts can be found at: https://ruwando.substack.com/ In this revealing and insightful discussion, Ruwan opens up to Rachel about his time in One Taste outlining the more dangerous aspects of the high-control group, while maintaining the positive aspects of empowerment and self-confidence he experienced. He goes on to share how the group's leader Nicole Daedone, who is still under investigation by the FBI conducted her "orgasmic meditation" business. Throughout the conversation, Rachel points out the cognitive dissonance may cult survivors feel as they struggle to hang on to the helpful practices or ideas they learned in an otherwise destructive group. Sheriff suspends restorative justice program with connections to "orgasmic meditation" organization

October 5, 2022 — Mendocino County Sheriff Matt Kendall suspended a “prison monastery” program at the jail on Monday afternoon amid revelations that Unconditional Freedom, the organization running the program, was linked to OneTaste, a company intimately connected to the Institute of OM, which touts the supposed neurological and spiritual benefits of an expensive clitoral stimulation technique called Orgasmic Meditation, or OM. The Institute of OM Foundation, which generates white papers and studies on the practice, claimed in a press release to have raised over $2 million “to support rigorous, peer-reviewed scientific research into partnered stimulation and the physiological and psychological effects of Orgasmic Meditation ("OM").” Kendall was concerned that inmates would be vulnerable to exploitation through the so-called spiritual curriculum, which revolved around a self-published book called “The Art of Soulmaking,” by OneTaste founder Nicole Daedone. The program included a penpal component with mystery address labels and unknown correspondents. One of the Unconditional Freedom volunteers also worked at Juvenile Hall, though he was never alone with inmates, and the curriculum was not in use among the minors. A Bloomberg piece from 2018 reported former OneTaste members' allegations that the company pressured its sales team to work long hours selling seats at OneTaste events, often to pay off staggering debts they themselves had incurred to receive higher and higher levels of certification in “the practice,” which consists of one person stroking a woman's clitoris for exactly 15 minutes, often in a group setting. And in 2020, the BBC released a ten-part podcast called the “Orgasm Cult,” which interviewed subject matter experts and chronicled the experiences of people who claimed that the organization engaged in abusive and controlling practices to make money from sex. An attorney for Unconditional Freedom insisted that there is no legal connection between OneTaste and Unconditional Freedom, though they share key personnel, a website, and a mailing address According to OneTaste's website, which went live this year, there does seem to be some kind of relationship between the service organization and a company that's been dogged by reports of financially and sexually exploitive practices. Numerous professional profiles and advertisements for past OneTaste events identify eight current or former OneTaste personnel among the Unconditional Freedom volunteers who appear in months-long correspondence between Kate Feigin, the inmate services coordinator for the Mendocino County jail, and the organization's leadership. (The connection between Unconditional Freedom and OneTaste was initially reported last year by B.T. Linhden.) Unconditional Freedom shares an EIN (Employer Identification Number, issued by the IRS to track business tax reporting), with another organization the OneTaste Foundation. The Foundation is legally distinct from OneTaste, though intimately connected with it. A 2014 press release issued by OneTaste for an event called an “Orgasmic Meditation Xperience” in San Francisco states that, All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the OneTaste Foundation, which exists to convert trauma into triumph through the practices of narrative therapy and Orgasmic Meditation. It aims to advance an innovative method of holistic reconciliation which serves to liberate both victims and perpetrators from debilitating, negative narratives.” Until a few days ago, the OneTaste website featured a photograph of a Mendocino County jail inmate whom we were able to identify by distinctive tattoos that were visible in photographs Feigin attached to an email she sent to Marcus Ratnathicam, the Executive Director of Unconditional Freedom and a former coach at OneTaste. The picture was replaced shortly after we started asking questions. Visitors to the OneTaste website, which features highly sexual content, can quickly follow a series of links to the Unconditional Freedom website, where they can still view images of inmates and video testimonies by a variety of participants identified as “Builders of the monastery.” We spoke with Unconditional Freedom attorney Caren Callahan about how the program measures the success of the program with inmates. She did not know how much public money it saves. The eight-week curriculum includes brief before-and-after surveys, where inmates self-report a 24% reduction in depression, 23% less use of drugs and alcohol (which they are not supposed to have in the jail anyway), and 16% less anger. Objective measurements like recidivism and post-release employment, housing, and sobriety were not immediately available. Kendall had some rough metrics. He said Unconditional Freedom's garden program alone saved the jail $10,000 in food costs last year. “And it's going to be more this year, because prices of things have gone up,” he predicted. The jail is also working to gather data on inmates who have gone through the Art of Soulmaking curriculum, versus those who have not. “We're trying to put together some data on that, but you have to understand, that's going to take probably another year before we get enough history in the rear view mirror before we can say if this is really working,” he said. Inmate Services Coordinator Kate Feigin said the curriculum does include making connections with the outside world. “Part of the Art of Soulmaking is that you connect with a mentor on the outside of jail, and they write letters back and forth with the incarcerated person, and they go through the lessons in the workbook with them, to help them deepen the lessons that they're learning,” she explained. We discovered when we looked at one of the inmate Art of Soulmaking packets which contained two envelopes with mailing stickers to an addressee. Inmates receive instructions informing them that removing the stickers “will constitute immediate removal from the program.” When we removed the sticker, we found another label underneath–this one to the address shared by OneTaste, Unconditional Freedom, and the Institute of OM, which offers intimacy training packages for upwards of $500, claiming that studies show that “OM has been shown to produce mystical experiences on par with the second highest dose of psilocybin.” The penpal program was a concern for Kendall, as he considered the jail's relationship with Unconditional Freedom over the weekend. “Number one, is there any issue with this OneTaste program?” he asked. “And then secondly, are the inmates staying in contact with these folks after they get out?” Both Kendall and Chief Probation Officer Izen Locateli, who runs Juvenile Hall, said they never had complaints about any of the Unconditional Freedom volunteers in their institutions. Locateli welcomed the help after he cut back on staff. “A while back, our staffing was reduced, when the county had conversations about closing Juvenile Hall, and to keep it open, we had to have less staff,” he explained. “So we used more community-based organizations or non-governmental organizations, and volunteers, to do some of the work we used to do. Which includes the Unconditional Freedom Project working in our garden on a volunteer basis,” starting a little over a year ago. The garden is closed until security protocols can be improved after two inmates escaped briefly over the weekend, but Locateli said the volunteer, a high-level trainer in OneTaste techniques, will not return when the garden re-opens. Locateli said Juvenile Hall only uses evidence-based curriculum, and that The Art of Soulmaking program was not in use at the facility. He emphasized that volunteers are never alone with the underage inmates. He hopes to continue the gardening project with a paid contractor. “Growing up in this community, and not wanting to bring any type of perception issues and having a vulnerable population, I think it would be best to do some type of RFP (request for proposals from would-be government contractors) to bring in a variety of different people, and make a selection process that's very transparent and open,” he concluded. On Monday afternoon, Kendall spoke with Ratnathicam, the Executive Director of Unconditional Freedom. He said he wasn't much more successful than we were at getting information. “Marcus said that he had previously worked for OneTaste, and that he was very proud of the work that they had done,” he reported. “I said, there are some things that went on there that simply shocked my conscience. And he said the reporting made it very shocking to people. And so I very bluntly asked him…if there was some type of group masturbation going on. And he simply went into the science behind things and did not answer.” Kendall suspended Unconditional Freedom programming at the jail on Monday, though he plans to continue looking into the situation. The same night, he said, “If it doesn't meet my morals and values for my family, it's not good enough for the inmate population. And I'm sorry. From what I've seen so far, the work that the Unconditional Freedom Project did, I'm thrilled with it. I thought they were good, professional people. However, if the foundation of this is OneTaste, I am not okay with that. And it will not continue.”

In August 2013 Ulysses “Butch” Slaughter entered the sexual wellness community OneTaste to design and direct The OneTaste Orgasmic Meditation Reconciliation Council. In September 2016 - convinced the corporation was on a chaotic and catastrophic course - he resigned from OneTaste. The most influential Black member of the controversial intimacy community, Ulysses was regarded by some as more powerful than the company's founder, Nicole Daedone. Like a priest he held confession sessions for the most senior leaders and community newcomers alike. His presence changed and challenged the company's controversial culture, putting him at odds with many managers and clients as well. More than a reflection of his time at OneTaste, One Black Taste is an exploration through Black experiences and into the dark sexual histories of politics, religion, business, science and medicine.

Turns out this is called OM (orgasmic meditation), it's a way to slow down sex and enhance intimacy. The evangelist of OM is this woman Nicole Daedone, I watched a few of her presentations and couldn't quite decide if she was a hedonistic postmodern feminist or a really profound thinker, so I read her book Slow Sex: The Art and Craft of the Female Orgasm. The idea of “deliberate orgasm” achieved by genital stroking started in the hippy communes of 1960s California. It was a time of huge social and sexual experimentation. One Taste co-founder Nicole Daedone first experienced the practice in the late 1990s. She had a vision of it reaching millions of people and changing the world – so she decided to redesign it as Orgasmic Meditation, making it sleeker and more structured. Hana Sim is Orgasmic Meditation Trainer and Relationship Coach from South Korea. She says she used to be a floating head, having spent most of her life in universities, doing Masters and a PhD. I ask her how can we more authentic in our storytelling when most people are in their heads. Hana explains how Orgasmic Meditation helped her to be present. Nicole Daedone is the one who made this practice; her first book is called “Slow Sex”. After it goes to our mindset, if we make it slow enough then we can see ourselves from the moment I see something new and then add up the interpretation. We talk about how easy it is to label things, to judge them instead of observing them. I think my judgement diffuses to other people, so at the end we think the  same thing. The way we trained ourselves in Orgasmic Meditation is call what I see, and it changes our mentality. https://youtu.be/S8couT0r8Qw Watch the full conversation between storytellers Hana Sim and Albert Bonet. She recognises she learned all the other things which can look good, but never really learned how to nourish herself as an adult human being. I could not keep functioning in my old conditioning. I always had to perform and always had to show others that I’m worthy. It kept giving me a diminishing return. The more hard work I put in, it was giving me less and less satisfaction. At one point, it hit zero. We discuss about being present in our bodies, and how if we do this we all feel each other. But we’re so busy thinking, she says, that we don’t recall all the things we feel. And about being in our masculinity or in our femininity: The masculine way is to calculate the most efficient point to the end. The feminine way is "oh I’d like to feel this thing and maybe if I feel that then I can move to another point". It’s always moving and always very flexible. When we follow our feelings it doesn’t make sense. You can get in touch with Hana Sim in Facebook  READ THE FULL TRANSCRIPT: ALBERT: So, here I am in Paris with Hana Sim. Hi Hana HANA: Hi ALBERT: Hana is an orgasmic meditation trainer and relationship coach and I’m meeting her to talk about authentic storytelling, of course, so we’ve been talking already a bit about your background, about what you do. Just tell me again what is orgasmic meditation for those of us who don’t know. HANA: OK, orgasmic meditation is a mindfulness practice so that means we train our attention on our body and how we feel and the way we do it is with another person so that’s more interesting and dynamic and there are lots of surprises. And if the normal zen or mindfulness practice concentrate their attention on their respiration and their breath, here we concentrate our attention on the point of contact between the fingertip and clitoris of woman so that’s really electric and very dynamic. ALBERT: OK so that’s definitely very intimate, right and when you told me just a few minutes ago about this, this is like wow this is very intimate and what I find very interesting is that you’re originally from South Korea, right, but you live now in Paris and you mostly practice in Paris. So being you from this background with a society in Asia with this more constricted social norms, how was your journey from that environment to going headfirst into orgasmic meditation? What was your journey there? What happened? HANA: There are many things that happened, there is my personal story and my different plans and my plan failed and there are many things, but first thing that I want to say because I changed many times my country, I’m from South Korea and I live in Paris and many times I go to English speaking countries very, very often and I think one thing which really helped me was the language barrier. Some people say we understand language mostly from the body language and the sensation so there are long periods of time I could not understand other languages, but somehow we understand each other like whether the fe...

Bringing Tuff Love and Abundance Back to Manhood! There is a war on men and boys in the World. But I don't see us as victims and we should not act as we are. The way I see it, we need to hang out more as men and include our boys in our daily activities. We also need to spend much more time with the women and girls in our lives. Robert Kandell brings up some very good points on this topic. He also shares a few books that are vital for us to read with other men and boys in our community. He brings his enthusiasm and acumen to his weekly podcast, Tuff Love, on subjects around relationships, intimacy, communication and gender dynamics. Guiding Principle, Quote or Mantra Don’t withhold. Tell the truth and be deliberate. And Being responsible with your communication. What’s behind sexual shame for men? Robert explains that everyone has shame, at least a little of it. And shame is when someone doesn’t feel 100% fine with talking about something. Society puts really strong boxes around what is “appropriate” - what you can talk about, what you can think about, what you can fantasize about. Most people who are outside those boxes find it hard to express their feelings and thoughts. It’s even harder for men because men “aren’t supposed to express their feelings”. Find out the rest of what Robert had to say by listening to the podcast. What can women do to support the men in their lives who are feeling sexual shame? Robert explains that the main thing you can do is to practice approval. Think of a computer with a virus. You don’t throw out the computer, you instead work to isolate and eliminate the virus. It’s the same situation when it comes to people. Making sure that you’re on your partner’s side, that you approve of them as a human being, and you will work with them to explore and better the situation, will help alleviate any sexual shame. What have you noticed from the “swipe right” society that has developed in recent years? Robert believes that it’s been a mess but there is hope. The first thing he notices is the balance of masculine and feminine dynamics. There’s also been a big change in terms of male and female roles. In just one generation, we’ve seen the gender pay gap shrink. It’s gone from 64 cents i the 80’s to currently, 94 cents per dollar. This has enabled women to make their own choices, rather than rely on a man financially. Because of this, you’ll see a portion of men quit on things and look towards video games and porn, rather than the dating scene. This topic was so interesting and Robert had so many amazing things to say. To hear the rest of what he had to say, listen to the podcast. What’s your outtake on “ghosting” and the impact from it? Ghosting is defined as basically not completing a communication cycle. What’s happened with social media and today’s digital world, we assume communication is done once we send a text, comment, or email. We’ve learned to be very lazy communicators. Robert believes that there are two types of ghosting. One would be because people believe there is an endless amount of other, easier ways of getting the same result, and two, some people believe that it’s nicer to just stop all communication, rather than saying that you’re not interested. In reality, this is not true. What is the best partnership / relationship advice you have ever received? You can’t see all of who you are without an outside approving look. Want to deepen your sense of what’s possible in sex, and experience a completely new kind of sensual connection to your partner? There’s more to sex and sensuality than most of us discover on our own, and on this show, one of my goals is to help you relearn and re-experience yourself as a sexual being. The practice of Orgasmic Meditation (OM), created by Nicole Daedone and promoted by OneTaste - the organization that she co-founded, allows you to explore orgasm sensuality in a totally new way. It is also a profoundly different way to connect sensually with your partner. Today’s guest, Aubrey Fuller, is the co-owner of OneTaste New York and OneTaste Los Angeles, and she is one of the world’s experts on how to “OM” - and the benefits of the practice. Orgasmic Meditation (OM)- OMing is a partnered exercise introduced by slow-sex leader Nicole Daedone who co-founded OneTaste. It is a therapeutic and meditative sensual practice in which the focus of awareness is on the stimulation of the clitoris. One person (the one doing the stimulating) is the stroker, and the other person (who is receiving and, in this case, must have a clitoris) is the strokee. OMing is a 15-minute process that is both prescribed and predictable as it follows a series of steps that people are trained in and encouraged to follow.  While OneTaste  educates people on the what, the when, the how, and the where, they leave the who to you. It can be done with a partner, a friend, or anyone else you trust. There are classes taught around the world, and OMing communities can be found in many major cities. Why? Those who teach, and those who experience OMing speak about the extensive benefits of the practice. It is about rediscovering what is possible in how we connect with each other sensually, sexually, and intimately! The impacts are not only physical, they are emotional, psychological, hormonal, and relational- to name a few. And the benefits are not only relegated to the strokees! Strokers also describe incredible growth and healing through the practice. It validates. Increases confidence. Heals old wounds. Raises consciousness. Allows for connection to body and other. It allows for deep healing through opening, relaxation, and release. For many women, OMing may the first time that they really learn, on a cellular level, that it is safe to be female in the world. Orgasm 1.0/Masculine style orgasm: Masculine style orgasms are the type in which the goal is climax. There is a predictable pattern of ascension, climax/ejaculation followed by quick decline. Orgasm 2.0/Feminine style orgasm. Female style orgasms, on the other hand, are non-linear. They made or may not include climax, and they may include many. This is non-peak orgasm sex that focuses more on the in-between and on following the sexual energy up, down, left, right. OMing is all about redefining, exploring, and celebrating the feminine style orgasm. O2 sex- when to stop? Shifting from O1 sex to O2 sex requires a certain letting go of expectations and agenda. This is what slow sex is all about. Some people get disoriented at first as they no longer have the explicit information from ejaculation that ‘the deed is done’. To learn more about non-orgasmic sex, check out other episodes on slow sex - such as Episode 2 with Diana Richardson (Discover the Power of Slow Sex), Episode 5 with Marnia Robinson (How Orgasms are Hurting Your Relationship), and Episode 23 with Sheri Winston (Useful Things You Never Knew about Feminine Sexuality). As for OMing- the 15 minute timer is taken very seriously as it helps hold a container which differentiates sex and life, and maintains immaculate boundaries so that people do not get lost in meaning, expectations, or old patterns. When it comes to OMing it is very important to stick with agreements on time- honoring the sacredness of the practice. Empathic orgasm: Aubrey Fuller of OneTaste jokingly advises: “Have a clit? Get it stroked! Don’t have a clit? Stroke one!” Both strokers and strokees tend to feel the same after an OMing session- stating that their mind is quiet, they feel open, refreshed, and content. Strokers often feel turned on themselves, and describe a sensation of a pulse of electricity running from their fingers through their whole body: a flush of energy, as well as oxytocin being released. In this way, OMing allows for individualized experiences (strokers and strokees may have their own journeys) while also allowing for connected and parallel processes. While the strokee may get off directly, the stroker has the opportunity for empathic orgasm. A note for those who have trauma histories: Always follow your own knowing. Tune it to yourself. This practice is meant to bring stuff up- and as in any meditation practice, when we get quiet and allow ourselves to open, our vulnerabilities emerge. This is especially true in OMing because the clitoral stimulation floods the basement of your being- your genitals/hips/pelvis with motion and orgasmic energy and often these are the places in our bodies that hold shame and unreleased traumatic memories and emotions. This is something to remain aware of and to care take- are you in a place and do you have the support to be with what comes up in a way that is not going to overwhelm you? While this is something to be cautious of, it is not contra-indicated by any means. In fact, BECAUSE it brings so much motion and energy to these often hidden places of our bodies and psyche, there is incredible potential for healing, restoration, and growth. Reach out to safe and stable professionals or people in your life to help you assess safety, trust, and your own sense of readiness. Be slow when it comes to slow sex! Want to introduce this to your partner but think they are going to be resistant, uncomfortable, or dismissive? Take it slow. Introduce it with patience, and bring them resources- websites, videos, podcasts, book. Do not take their discomfort personally- this is a radically different way to approach sex, and one that involves more vulnerability than most are used to- so it may require time to readjust to! How To:  There are many videos and courses available to help walk you through the steps of an OMing session. That said, what follows is not a guide, but rather a short run through to help give you a sense of the process. Ask: Either the strokee or stroker can ask to OM. Either can say no. Set up a date for later, or do it right then- either way honor the commitment as you would a meeting. The nest: OMing happens on a yoga mat with a blanket and pillows. The stroker sets up the nest and invites the strokee to lay down. Get ready: The stroker also needs to get a small washcloth, lubrication (OneTaste sells some especially designed for the practice, called OneStroke), and gloves. In position: The strokee undresses from the waist down and lays on her back with her legs butterflied open. The stroker gets into position sitting next to her. Check out the OneTaste site or the book Slow Sex by Nicole Daedone for clear illustrations on how each should be positioned. Safeporting and grounding: Stroker communicates in short clear sentences with a calm voice that they will “touch your thigh now”. The statements are firm and always require consent. The stroker then presses the strokees body towards the ground to begin warming the body to touch. Noticing: Next, the stroker puts full visual attention on the genitals and voices three value neutral things they notice, such as “dark hair that swirls above the clitoris” or “engorged labia”. The strokee thanks the stroker, who then puts on gloves and offers another safeport: “I’m going to touch your genitals now” and looks again for consent. Stroking: With lubed left forefinger stroker begins on the outside of the vagina and comes up through the inner labia landing on the clit- ideally finding the 1 o'clock spot (most sensitive spot). The stroke is a gentle (no harder than you would stroke your eyelid) up and down, and requires continual contact. Follow sensations, and feel way through experience. Concluding: the timer will go off at 13 minutes at which point the stroker says “2 minutes” and only strokes on the down pull from then on. These last 2 minutes are about grounding back into the body. When the 15 minute timer goes off the stroker announces “time” and applies grounding pressure to genitals. They then do a towel stroke and helps strokee sit up. Sharing frames: Both the strokee and stroker share a snapshot of their sensations and give each other an overview of their experience before putting away the nest and concluding the session. In the moment feedback: There can as little or as much communication as needed during OMing. The strokee can ask for adjustments, and the stroker can make offerings, such as “more pressure? More to the left? Pull your hood back more?”. There is no formula or rule around communication- only that both are mindful to keep statements and questions short and simple so that neither person is distracted into a heady/intellectual thinking place. The point: The point of this practice is to sink into a feeling state and just feel human connection! Being present for whatever arises on a sensory level. It is ultimately a goalless practice in which you are neither pursuing nor avoiding climax. For both the strokee and stroker the attention is placed on the point of contact: where the finger meets the clit. Breath is natural, eye contact is minimal, and attention returns continually to this point. Did you know why OneTaste is called One Taste? The name of the organization comes from the following quote from the Buddha: “Just as the great ocean has one taste, the taste of salt, so also this teaching and discipline has one taste, the taste of liberation.” Resources: Learn more about OneTaste here!
