Summary: We're connected to His family, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who is abiding in us. The deity we worship is a tr i-une being, and we are becoming one with them. He has placed Himself in human flesh and today if you want to have a meeting with God, you will meet Him in your brother and sister because that is where He's at. Show Notes: I think we're learning the mysteries of what oneness really is. the Lordship of Jesus Christ is coming through a many-member body. This is the way He moves through His family. God fills the universe and He also fills us. Quotes: You could just talk to Him, have a conversation with God. Do you believe that you carry Him where ever you go? The spirit in me is Christ. I recognize that, but I also recognize the Spirit of Christ in you. He can rule and reign in you, He can relate to you on a one to one basis if you believe that He is there. Scriptural References: John 15:4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; so neither can ye except ye abide in Me. Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ liveth in me: and that life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith which is in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself up for me. Romans 12:5 So we, who are many are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another. Colossians 1:27 To whom God was pleased to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Takeaway: If you have a need, why not go to the Christ in your brother? It's Christ in you the hope of glory. This is how the family of God grows and matures. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one, and they are ministering through the many-membered body of Christ.

One thing you have to remember is you're human. You're going to make decisions based on the information you have......and you're going to make mistakes. It is essential to recognize our progress and growth and take risks to achieve success by committing fully to our plan A and not allowing ourselves to have a plan B. Taking action and making decisions to reach our goals is key, and we should work hard and live hard to accomplish our dreams. Key Lessons Recognizing our progress and growth is essential to achieve success. Taking action and making decisions to reach our goals is key. We should work hard and live hard to accomplish our dreams. Summary We're discussing how important it is to have grace on oneself, instead of being hard on oneself. Making mistakes is part of the process of growth and development, and it's important to recognize that and forgive oneself for them. There's gratification in seeing one's progress and evolution, and it can be helpful to look back and see how far one has come Becoming successful and wealthy requires time, work, and patience. Recently, Pedro and his wife realized how much they have accomplished and grown. It is important to give credit to yourself and plan ahead without any other options Pedro shares his journey from when he left Guatemala 10 years ago and the one thing he did to keep himself from going back to comfort, safety, and predictability. Nothing great happens in your comfort zone. Taking risks and burning the ships is key to success. Pedro stopped allowing himself to have options, and when he moved to Dallas with nothing, his wife suggested getting a job, but he refused because it would limit their potential. Instead, he got creative and started delivering food, and groceries and creating an app to make it more effective. You must commit to your plan A and burn the boats to achieve success. Don't allow yourself to have a plan B or you will be disappointed in yourself. Take the steps necessary to reach your goal and don't give up Don't let yourself have options, just go and do whatever it is you want to accomplish, no matter how hard it is. Take action and make a decision to carry out your goals or go back to what you left behind. Share and review the show to help spread the message Work hard and live hard! Summary: We're seeing a lot of trends in the economy with specific regard to employment—as more companies announce mass layoffs, there seems to be a larger factor at play. Eddie Yoon joins me in this episode to talk about the grand shift that is taking place in the professional sphere, fueled by the transition from a knowledge-based economy to a creator-based economy. What this means is that the qualifications that were once absolutely necessary for white collar careers (i.e. college education or higher training/certifications) are becoming less valuable for particular roles; subsequently, some of the roles themselves are now obsolete. We're seeing a major decrease in roles where one's responsibilities would entail managing other knowledge workers, which is massively impacting the job market as a whole. Furthermore, Eddie and I discuss other future innovations, such as artificial intelligence, that are already shifting things within the economy and the employment sphere. Listen in for more information and insight. Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Eddie Would Grow
Summary: We're already in the second half of January, and many are wondering what's in store for crypto this year. Are we going to see more decentralized finance, or is the system going to reclaim its power? Here to discuss this is former Bloomberg reporter, Matt Leising, who discusses some of the implications of currency decentralization—the most impactful one being that the middle man is eliminated. Matt explains why this is such a game changer, and how smart contracts speed up the transaction process; additionally, crypto helps to eliminate Western Union fees and allows for the seamless transport of money to/from places with fewer banks. Matt emphasizes that crypto is not an attempt to replace the current monetary system, but that it offers a viable alternative for those wanting to protect their capital against inflation and unforeseen obstacles in the economy. Summary: We're halfway through the first month of 2023 and consumer sentiment is better than expected. Will the January effect continue, and are good times here to stay? Edward Siddell comes on the show to talk about this, and is unsurprised by consumer sentiment given everything else going on. With rising inflation comes a subsequent rise in credit, meaning that people's spending ability was unaffected during the holiday season. Nonetheless, we should brace ourselves for the inevitable—which will entail a bad earning season and many jobs lost, according to Edward. We should expect another round of quantitative easing, as well as a recession of unknown depths in the near future. Tune in to find out more. Useful Links: Financial Survival Network EGSI Financial

Summary: We're running a free retreat for LessWrong users (lurkers) who aren't yet working on existential risk mitigation but might be interested, in the hopes of catalyzing some of them into people who are. It's called the Lurkshop. Apply here by December 1st, ideally sooner! If you refer a friend and we accept them, we'll give you $100. We cover all costs, including flights. Please apply even if you don't think you have skills that seem directly relevant to reducing x-risk! Do you read LessWrong? (Presumably!) Summary: We're going back in the archives today with an interview from 2020 with the amazing Dawn Walters of The University of Kentucky Dance Team. Dawn's approach to coaching is so relatable and refreshing. She has such genuine advice and a superpower as a coach. We talk about opening the door for more dancers of different genres and backgrounds to join a big university program. She really led us behind the curtain and shared how she runs practices, how she cleans her routines, and even how her coaching style has changed. She was really open with me when we got into some of the hard stuff and we talked about addressing race in the dance team industry and protecting yourself as a coach from that one angry parent who could tear it all down. Dawn was a UK cheerleader and dancer, and she started coaching UK in 2009. She has a long list of accomplishments including national titles, starting her own all-star gym, judging for top competitions, and, of course, just impacting so many young lives through her program at The University of Kentucky. I hope this beautiful interview brings you a dose of motivation and inspiration as we head into competition season. Pull Quotes - Dawn: “So I'm hoping that coaches will now step back and go, “Wow, okay, I was being so strict on that,” and not to be mean but just for sake of going everybody has to wear their hair in a ponytail and in a bun and whatever... Let's take that pressure off of those coaches that go, “But I have to or I'm gonna get a point taken off ‘cause everybody's hair wasn't this way.” ... It felt like I had to have a weave or I had to do this to my hair because otherwise I wouldn't have made the team or I wouldn't have been able to do things or whatever. Hopefully, those things go there. That's what I really hoped that the dialogue and the communication would be there so then your kids of color and your Black kids would feel like, “Wow. I'm accepted.” Key Highlights - [1m 53s] Team Culture [7m 52s] Dawn's Two Teams: The White Squad and The Blue Squad [11m 23s] How Dawn Runs Team Practice [19m 27s] Dawn's Cleaning Style [25m 15s] Go with the Flow! Summary: We're going to talk about aces in their places today. Aces in their places means having the best people in the best role and best position for them. One of the things the team leader and I do is talk about growing a team and being leaders on that team. I've learned recently in the past couple months that there are certain things I'm good at and certain things I'm not good at. I'm super good at the sales, the relationships, and those kinds of things, but I'm not super great at details or paperwork. I've been going back to aces in their places, and I want to share the story of where the term came from and how I've been using it in my business. Hopefully it will help you in yours. Where does aces in their places come from?During my time working in management at Chick-Fil-A, "aces in their places" was a phrase I had when someone would want to learn a new position. I told them to come in midweek when it was slow, and I would train them. See, I needed aces in their places during our peak times—it really meant the best people were in the best position for them to create success. Let's bring it back to your business. What are the things that you're doing that you're not the best at. Maybe there's something you really want to learn, but is the busiest time of the day in your busiest time of real estate the time for you to be learning the stuff that you're not good at? That's the time to have ACEs in their places—you in your best position. What are you sacrificing if you're not in your best position? I know I'm good at relationships and people, but not details and paperwork. So, I hired someone to take care of those things so that we could have aces in their places, and I was able to do what I was best at for the business. So, what are you doing in your business? Where do you need to practice this? Podcast edited by Kenny Carfagno. Summary: We're back and are enjoying summer in the Pacific Northwest. Summary: We're seeing huge signs that the economy is about to roll over—especially with the current commodity prices. John Rubino comes on the show to talk about this, and explains some of the trends that allude to the forthcoming recession. If oil and housing move in a particular direction, then the rest of the economy has to go in this direction as well. People are changing the way that they interact with the market, staying on the cautious side and feeling more inclined to sell. To hear more on what's to come, be sure to tune in to this episode. Highlights: -There is a decent chance that the current quarter is negative, and this will carry us through to the election -People are starting to save less money with alternative energy (i.e. electric cars) -We're in a transition that needs to be managed -We're headed into a time of very slow growth, which leads to people being nervous in the market. We could see a lot of big cap being sold, bringing it back down to fair valuation -Some people would like to see the country divided—people are moving to other states because of their beliefs -There's lots of civil unrest in multiple European countries because of farmers being targeted. -Things are too crazy right now for rational participation Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Dollar Collapse
Summary: We're seeing oil price shocks, commodity booms and busts, and various factors that are threatening to de-throne the US dollar. Why is this happening, and what does this mean for the global economy? I have Martin Armstrong on the show to discuss this, and he explains the various changes that have occurred—such as sanctions in Russia and countries opting to not borrow in dollars—that put the dollar at risk. Not only is the dollar in danger in these conditions—this shift in currency use greatly affects the world economy. Tune in for more information. Highlights: -The dollar has been the one currency that anyone can write a bond in -So many emerging markets issue debt in dollars so that they can sell to American investors without the foreign exchange risk -The dollar has had less restrictions globally, which has made it the reserve currency -The sanctions imposed upon Russia are devastating to the global economy, and have ultimately split it in half -The world economy has functioned by the free movement of capital, but these sanctions have essentially sent off a warning to the entire world related to getting assets confiscated -When sanctions are put on individuals, the situation worsens -The dollar has been weaponized effectively -This issue will probably become more serious after 2024 -This is not worth destroying the entire world economy over -Russia seems to have been provoked into this war -We're going to have high energy prices in Europe and Asia no matter what happens -2023 is going to be a massive turning point; it looks as though it can't possibly get any better, and it's probably going to cascade into chaos -A lot of the real estate has been European buying -As the dollar goes up, Japan and China are selling their bonds -We're in a complex situation; there isn't just one factor that is contributing to the economic turmoil -Chinese real estate is the largest asset class in the world, and it appears to be imploding -China warned banks years ago not to borrow in dollars Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Armstrong Economics
SUMMARY:We're joined by Northern Irish singer/songwriter and frequent Ed Sheeran collaborator Foy Vance, who chats about addiction, spirituality, and the creative process. PART ONE:Inspired by Foy Vance's magnificent whiskers, Scott and Paul go down the rabbit hole to discuss the greatest musical mustaches in history. Actually, the mustaches aren't musical in and of themselves, they're just attached to musicians. But you get the idea. PART TWO:Our in-depth conversation with Foy VanceABOUT FOY VANCE:Northern Irish singer/songwriter Foy Vance launched his recording career with his own record label and quickly gained attention as his songs were used on various TV shows. Touring with Ed Sheeran exposed his music to a wider audience, and his 2013 album Joy of Nothing, which featured a collaboration with Bonnie Raitt, won the inaugural Northern Ireland Music Prize for best album. After signing with Sheeran's Gingerbread Man label, Vance released his third studio album, The Wild Swan, which was executive produced by Elton John and released in 2016. Aside from his own recordings, Foy co-wrote four songs on Ed Sheeran's Multiply album from 2017 and four more on Sheeran's Divide LP from 2017. Additionally, Foy's songs have been recorded by Alicia Keys, Miranda Lambert, H.E.R., Keith Urban, Rag N' Bone Man, and others. In total, he has released nine EPs and six studio albums. His most recent, and his fourth for Gingerbread Man Records, is called Signs of Life.
Summary: We're experiencing financial, societal, and global insanity that has been a long time coming. In this episode, I speak with Darryl Schoon, who predicted our current situation many years ago when he wrote The Time of the Vulture. Darryl notes the way that the money supply has increased and subsequently lost any value it had. Join us for this episode to hear some of Darryl's knowledge, and to get an idea of what's to come. Highlights: -Darryl Schoon saw all of this coming many years ago -Darryl talks about the concept of the ‘vulture,' who feeds on blind ignorance and denial -His book predicts the event that we are in now -Individuals and corporations will go bankrupt before the government -After the Federal Reserve took control of the money supply, money no longer had the same value -If all debt was paid, money would disappear; in a capitalist society, there is debt based currency Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Darryl Schoon

Music Studio Startup: Helping music teachers thrive as entrepreneurs
Summary We're doing a special series on the podcast this summer called Studio Snapshots. Rather than the in-depth, process-oriented interviews you're used to hearing, these rapid-fire interviews give us a glimpse in a guest's studio at a moment in time. They're part reflection, part anticipation of the future, and fully a celebration of where these teachers are today. Today I'm talking to Candace Hamm, owner of Candace Hamm Piano Studio. A full transcript and resources from this episode can be found at MusicStudioStartup.com/snapshot002.

Summary: We're experiencing a peculiar rally at the moment, and Michael Pento comes on the show to give more insight on what's happening with the rate hikes, and why we're seeing this rally. In the past, the stock market has gone up significantly when the Fed hikes interest rates for the first time. Additionally, we're seeing bubbles in every market, and the stock market could go higher if the Fed reverses its policy—driving our economy into QE unlimited. Tune in for more on what's to come. Highlights: -There are 8 more rate hikes ahead, but any news is good news when it comes to Wall Street -This rally is happening because in the past, the first time the Fed has hiked interest rates, the stock market has gone up significantly -This rate hiking cycle is unique -The Fed is now tightening into a slow down in global growth—particularly US growth -The Fed can't hike more than one or two times before they invert the yield curve -They plan to do quantitative tightening as well -Digital currency could also serve as a tool for inflationary measures -If the base money supply never grew more than 2% per annum, the situation would look a lot different -There are bubbles in every market -The stock market will only go higher if the Fed reverses its policy and we go into QE unlimited Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Pento Portfolio Strategies
Summary: We're experiencing an inflation rate that hasn't been this high in 40 years, but this means that it's also advantageous to own more precious metals, oil, and other commodities. A realm of investment especially worth looking into right now is real estate; home prices are being driven up, and mortgage rates are ultimately pinned down by the interest rate policy. If you can rent your property out and turn it into a source of income, this is highly beneficial in the long run. Tune in for more insight on the markets and tips on how to plan for the future. Highlights: -Inflation just hit a near 40 plus year peak -It hasn't been this high since 1980 -Understand that the reported inflation rate is never entirely accurate—its reliability has diminished over the years -It is probably double or more of what the projected government rate is -It's getting more advantageous to own precious metals, oil, and other commodities -Speculating can be dangerous, but so can investing in mining stocks -Is real estate a good place to be now, or is the market going to collapse? Ultimately, it's a good investment, even in light of collapse risks -Mortgage rates are pinned down by the interest rate policy -Until the government cuts back on credit creation, the inflationary situation will not improve -Inflation will increase the price of your home -People are fleeing from the lockdown states to states with looser restrictions -If you can rent your property out, every dollar that your rent goes up will drive up the value of your property -If you're going to buy real estate, location is crucial Useful links: Financial Survival Network
Summary: We're at the beginning of an inflationary cycle right now; thus, it's crucial to know if you're going to enter retirement during this period, and how you can prepare. I have Mark Singer at the show to discuss this topic, and we analyze a few economic factors that contribute to this phenomenon. Interest rates are going to start to go up very soon, which means that bond values will inevitably go down. Find out what your needs are now so that you can manage your portfolio accordingly. Highlights: -Inflation is here to stay, and it's a cycle. We saw it in the 60s and 70s, and it lasted upwards of 20 years -We're at the beginning of an inflationary cycle right now -It's important to find out if you're going to be retired during this time, and what to do -Interest rates continue to be between 0% and 1.5% -We're not getting the increase in income anymore -We just went through a 30 year bond/bull market -Values of bonds have gone up; now, we've bottomed out and interest rates are going to start going up, which means that bond values will start to go down -You need to understand low risk fixed income vs. high risk fixed income -Find out what your needs are and how much risk you have to take with the portfolio Useful Links: Financial Survival Network Mark Singer - Your Retirement Guide
Summary: We're always wondering how to maximize and get the most out of your retirement benefits. I sit down and chat with Pam Prine about how to do so. Prine has been a financial advisor since 2003 and has observed the changing markets. By assessing your risk capacity and tolerance, you can more effectively management your retirement funds. Tune in for more information. Highlights: -How can you maximize/get the most out of your retirement benefits? -Prine has been a financial advisor since 2003—seeing accumulation and down-markets -Prine helps clients reduce the taxes they pay in the long term -Risk tolerance is associated with a feeling, and it's important to understand your risk capacity -There are tools you can use to assess your risk -There is legislative risk with certain assets (i.e. crypto) -Trying to time the market is extremely difficult; remember that there is no bad time for a good investment Useful Links: Financial Survival network Keystone Capital Management Group

Author's Note: Welcome back to The Fic List! As you may know from listening to our previous episodes, we record pretty far in advance - usually several weeks to a couple of months before they go live. As such, there are times when something we've recorded doesn't sit quite right for the moment when it hits the airwaves. This is one of those times. We recorded this episode via Skype on April 25th. While we were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic by then, we did not anticipate everything that has happened since. This episode is silly and a little flippant because, at the time, that's how we were coping with the situation at hand - but we recognize that nothing about the last few weeks has been silly or flippant. We want to state unequivocally and without any hesitation that Black Lives Matter and that we support the movement for racial equity and justice for Black and Indigenous people of color. This Pride month, we particularly want to recognize and pay respect to our BIPOC queer and trans elders and siblings, who are the pillars of the queer community and without whom Pride would not exist. We're queer! And at long last, we're bringing you season two of The Fic List!!! For our first episode of season two, we're changing things up and hopefully making our episodes a little easier to digest - cutting down to one tag or AU per episode, alternating between the two every other episode. We're also recording separately to maintain proper social distancing, and maybe (?), hopefully (???) posting on a regular schedule (???) for the first time in our lives??? So join us on this journey as we make a whole new season of this silly lil' podcast we love so much. And also review some truly delightful Pride smut, because, frankly, we've earned it. Examples of default settings when an uncomfortable situation occurs. How a positive default setting makes Lisa Wilber a very effective leader. Six quick and simple steps to resetting your personal default system and dramatically increasing your influence. Segment 2 You'll discover: The concept of “personal dramas”--emotional reactions we have when faced with stressful situations. Three steps to handling pressure situations and turning potential adversaries into allies. Two personal examples of how to handle a person's default setting appropriately.
