Episode 173:For this guest episode it is a very welcome return for Eleanor Conlon, who you will remember discussed Titus Andronicus with me in Episode 22 of this season. Having picked over the brutal actions of that play with Eleanor I was pleased to hear that she was interested in a return visit and to discuss the very different piece that is Love's Labour's Lost. As you will her Eleanor has a great love of this play and brings all the enthusiasm about it to our conversation that you as might expect. If you have not already done so I would recommend listening to my previous episode on Love's Labour's Lost before starting on this one, which adds a lot to what I said in that episode.Eleanor Conlon is an actor, director, and award-winning writer based in Sussex.After completing her BA in English Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London, Eleanor earned her MA in Shakespeare and Early Modern Drama at Kings College and Shakespeare's Globe. While at The Globe, Eleanor worked dramaturgically on productions by Dominic Dromgoole, Matthew Dunster, and Jeremy Herrin, and with Jenny Tiramani on the Original Practices Costume Archive.As an academic, her research focused on Renaissance Magic, Gender and Culture in Early Modern London, though for more than a decade her career has been less theoretical and more practical. After achieving success with her theatre company ‘The Barefoot Players' in the late 2000s and early 2010s, with which she produced plays including ‘Tis Pity She's a Whore', ‘Doctor Faustus' and ‘The Alchemist', the latter two of which she also directed, as well as productions of several of Shakespeare's works, plays by Ibsen, Oscar Wilde, and others. Dr. Manish Pandit is a physician who lives in the United Kingdom. He arrived in England in the mid 1990's and trained as a surgeon (FRCS General Surgery and FRCS ENT) before switching career streams to Nuclear Medicine and obtaining a Masters with a Merit from Kings College in the process. He is an alumnus of BJ Medical College in Pune. He has published on many research topics within the fields of medicine and is a senior tutor for medical students in England as well as regional director for training in his medical speciality.Dr Manish has had an active interest in Indian history and spirituality since he was 21 years old, which is also when he met his Guru, Nakhate Maharaj. However he considers that spirituality (and alignment with so called dharma) is mostly useless unless closely moving with humanity and compassion on the ground in real life. It is easy for those who have not been miserable in life and not been engaged in the service of others for decades to be dismissive of any other sentient being's troubles as mere “thought” or “nonsense”. Medicine provides him that impetus as nothing moves humans more than the sight of others suffering.He maintains an extensive personal library of books on Indology. He has studied the dating of the Mahabharata sufficiently enough to be considered as an expert on dating the Mahabharata using ancient Indian astronomy and is considered as a student of Dr Narahari Achar (a physics professor from Memphis who dated the Mahabharata to 3067 BCE).He is also a director, scriptwriter and cinematographer, who is known for making films on topics which very few within the broadcast and non-broadcast media like to touch. He has made several films including the acclaimed Krishna: History or Myth, Mumbai: Pani Mafia, SaiBaba: An Indian Jesus, Bharat ek Chetna and perhaps his best known film “The Ishrat Jahan Conspiracy (2014)”.His films can be divided into two principal categories, those which pertain to religion and those which pertain to politics. Resh Joseph is the Clinical Director of Highlands Recovery, and he specializes in the treatment of complex psychological trauma, PTSD, addictions and other trauma-related disorders.Resh commenced his career as a Doctor in the UK, ceased practicing medicine in 2005, and then fully retrained as a counseling psychotherapist obtaining a Masters in Psychology and the Neuroscience of Mental Health (MSc) from prestigious Kings College in London. For the past 15 years he has practiced exclusively as a psychological professional working in Singapore, Indonesia, Switzerland and now, Australia.Resh's trauma related work experience includes working within the criminal justice system in Singapore as part of the prison psychiatric team, treating individuals with a wide range of serious psychiatric illnesses and severe personality and behavioral disorders. More recently, he has spent time working in the private sector with The Cabin Addiction Services Group as a substance abuse and trauma therapist at Asia's largest inpatient rehabilitation center in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our guest today is Sarah Bergenfield, a Somatic Psychologist, and a Level 3-trained and Certified IFS practitioner, specializing in autism. Sarah holds a master's degree in embodiment studies and wrote her thesis on autism as an embodied condition that impacts the brain, body, and mind. Sarah is a student in the Applied Neuroscience program at Kings College in London and begins her Ph.D. in Psychology in September at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a wife, mom to three children, and dog mom to Magnus, her assistance dog. Sarah is the co-author of the book, Embodying Autism – Navigating your Autistic Brain, Body, and Mind, written with Martha Sweezey and published next year by New Harbinger. She is an international speaker and educator on the topic of understanding autism as an embodied condition. We will be speaking with Sarah about the nature of autism (Episode Part 1) and (Episode Part 2) how IFS concepts and techniques can be understood through the lens of autism, how IFS therapy can be helpful for autistic clients, and some special considerations to keep in mind when working with autistic clients with IFS.  Hope you enjoy the episode and find it useful.

Sarah is a student in the Applied Neuroscience program at Kings College in London and begins her Ph.D. in Psychology in September at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is a wife, mom to three children, and dog mom to Magnus, her assistance dog. Sarah is the co-author of the book, Embodying Autism – Navigating your Autistic Brain, Body, and Mind, written with Martha Sweezey and published next year by New Harbinger. BO-MTS is a proudly Western Australian company servicing the offshore energy and defence sectors in Australia and the UK, utilising disruptive persistent uncrewed autonomous underwater vehicles fitted with an array of mission specific sensors. Prior to joining BO-MTS, Mike was based in London as the Western Australian Agent General. Mike's role was to represent Western Australian interests and promote Western Australia, throughout the UK, Europe and Israel, as a great place for investment, trade, research and development, education, training, and tourism. Mike had a 32-year naval career including command of three Oberon class submarines and the Fleet Replenishment ship, HMAS Success. His last role in the Royal Australian Navy was as the Commander of the Australian Submarine Group and the Senior Defence Officer in WA. He retired in the rank of Commodore in 2005. Awards include the Conspicuous Service Cross, the Australian Service Medal (Special Operations clasp), the Defence Force Service Medal (three bars) and the Australian Defence Medal. He is a Freeman of the City of London. Dr. Manish Pandit is a physician who lives in the United Kingdom. Medicine provides him that impetus as nothing moves humans more than the sight of others suffering. He maintains an extensive personal library of books on Indology. He has studied the dating of the Mahabharata sufficiently enough to be considered as an expert on dating the Mahabharata using ancient Indian astronomy and is considered as a student of Dr Narahari Achar (a physics professor from Memphis who dated the Mahabharata to 3067 BCE). He is also a director, scriptwriter and cinematographer, who is known for making films on topics which very few within the broadcast and non-broadcast media like to touch. He has made several films including the acclaimed Krishna: History or Myth, Mumbai: Pani Mafia, SaiBaba: An Indian Jesus, Bharat ek Chetna and perhaps his best known film “The Ishrat Jahan Conspiracy (2014)”. His films can be divided into two principal categories, those which pertain to religion and those which pertain to politics.
