With the rise in popularity of podcast guesting and booking services, my peers who host podcast hosts (and myself) experience a unique challenge – receiving hundreds of unqualified and unsolicited pitches to be on our show each week. Standing out and capturing the attention of podcast hosts becomes a daunting challenge, not to mention actually getting booked! With the ratio of guests to popular shows being 17:1, and limited booking spots as most shows only publish once a week, there has never been a more important time to learn how to pitch the shows you want to be featured on.  Recently I invited several of my podcaster friends to a special pitch session for my Million-Dollar Authority Mastermind, and I kicked off the session with a panel discussion on what gets someone booked these days. On Amplify Your Success Podcast 387, I share this conversation with five powerhouse podcasters as they reveal the key factors to securing an interview on their shows and making a lasting impression on your audience. You'll meet show hosts Tiphany Kane, Tanya Smith, Samantha Riley, Shay Wheat, and Tish Times. These podcasting women share invaluable expert advice on how to elevate your podcast appearance game. From the importance of authenticity, storytelling, and vulnerability to the significance of professional preparation and engaging storytelling, this episode offers a treasure trove of knowledge to help you unlock the secrets of securing top podcast appearances and making a powerful impact on your audience.  Don't miss out on this game-changing episode as these powerhouse podcasters unlock the secrets to getting booked (and be sure to binge their shows too!)   Key Takeaways: 00:47 Melanie explains how this panel discussion sheds light on getting booked on top shows 04:55 Podcast hosts introduce themselves and what their podcast is about. 07:52 Sharing mistakes has the potential to become a bingeable, powerful episode. 13:19 Panelists explore what gets a guest booked, and what turns them off to a guest coming on their show. 15:35 Focus on audience first, compelling, clear framework. 17:12 What happens when a podcast episode gives you a burst of energy. 22:09 When video is also valuable in podcast interviews. 24:26 The group emphasized the power of personal connections in collaboration. 29:20 Why some of the best episodes are engaging with clear, concise stories. 31:04 Vulnerability and authenticity can be transformational when delivered on a show. 34:15 How to stand out and create magic through a unique framework and energy.   Resources Mentioned Apply For The Million-Dollar Authority Mastermind Enroll In The $100k Authority Accelerator  Download the guide and scorecard 17 Mistakes Guest Experts Make That Cost Them the Lead & Client

As a child, you don't have much say in your upbringing. But what if you discovered the rules and values instilled by your family didn't align with your personal morals and beliefs? In today's truly inspirational story, I sat down with Tiphany Kane—CEO of KaSa Media Productions and host of the Raise Your Volume Academy podcast—to uncover her answer. Tiphany grew up in a high-control religion that taught patriarchal rule and oppressionist beliefs. Knowing she didn't want to spend her life as a helpmate, Tiphany left when she was only 19. But would she be able to pick up the pieces, discover her authentic self, and uplift the voices of other women? Here's how Tiphany overcame fear, left everything she knew behind, and started her life anew on her own terms. Feeling inspired? EP312: Today's guest is Tiphany Kane, who I refer to as a Podcasting Dynamo, because she has not just one but THREE podcasts! I asked her to be on the show because she's a great role model of living a sparked second half, as well as a fantastic example of how you can find your way to a more passionate existence in spite of the hardships or lack of support you may have. Tiphany has certainly made up for lost time, creating her own company, KaSa Media Productions which allows her to bring her passion for the art of the spoken word to people who need help finding their voice. She's a coach, public speaker, podcast producer, videography director and is the Executive Director of Sonic Bloom Podcast Awards. Tiphany also hosts the Radical Audacity in Love & Life, Diet Riot Sweat Repeat, and Mastering the Podcaster Mindset podcasts.  "You are just too passionate." were the words she heard from a supervisor explaining why she was not selected for a promotion she was qualified for. Although these words stung, they were the words she needed to hear to make the necessary career change that would take her down a much more purpose-filled path. At age 49 she says: "Life is just beginning for me! I am lit up with creativity, options, ideas, and possibility." And she wants you to know if your brightness is being dulled, know that it is never too late to find your passion and purpose. Tiphany Kane, M. Ed. is known as “The Heck Yes! Coach”. She is passionate about coaching women to turn painful “no's” in life & business into empowered opportunities to find the “Heck Yes!”. Tiphany is an entrepreneur, public speaker, coach, and writer, podcaster. Here are the takeaways... Sometimes we are asked to dim our lights and play small to fit into systems. We each get to choose what to do when that happens. When you are told you are "too much" it's worth asking if that is really true for you... or if it's possible someone is asking you to be less than you are You have been socialized to think that what you think, need, and feel isn't important. Let's give you permission to do what you need NOW: use the bathroom when you need to go, and eat food when you're hungry. Public education as we know it came out during the Industrial Revolution, and to work in factories. We have the mindset in society that we need to be rule followers. Anytime you hear..." how could she do that?", "how dare she"... you know you are doing it right and living authentically and audaciously. The big AND. You can love where you are, be grateful for the growth, AND be ready to grow and expand. It doesn't mean something terrible has happened, it can be an acknowledgment that you can be ready for more. It all gets to be here. Running TO something has a very different energy on your life than running AWAY from something. Making changes in our life from JOY is very empowering. Your body is always talking. It can be useful to ask... what are you trying to tell me? What do you want me to know? The podcasting world is a great medium for women, there's no one shutting down women's voices like there are in many other media streams. Patriarchy is bad for men and women. It tells us that women are in competition and separate from each other. But the truth is, collaboration is our superpower. Everyone rises when we come together. You can expand your world by bringing in people that have different gifts than you do. It's a way to make your life richer and it eliminates competition. Tending to your own alignment, making sure you feel good is a way to not only lean into YOUR joy, but a way to allow other people to experience THEIR joy. People feel your energy in all situations no matter what you say. If there is joy and love in your energy, people feel that. If there is a resentment and frustration, people feel that as well. Lightening your load and allowing the people in your life to make their choices ...by taking care of YOUR side of the street and letting them have ownership over THEIR side of the street. It does EVERYONE a favor because it gives them agency and free choice, and you get to lighten your load. If our intent is to change someone or help them "Meet their potential", that's not love. When you have your own business, standing out in a crowded marketplace can feel a bit overwhelming at times. There are many different strategies, some of them massively time consuming, so how do you decide if adding “podcast host” is the right path for you? When I started my podcast, I had no idea how powerful it would be for my business. Today, Amplify Your Success Podcast is in the top 1.5% of podcasts worldwide and I get messages frequently from people who listen and share that it's their favorite podcast. But is that enough to justify all of the hard work and significant investment in hosting a weekly show? I decided to dedicate this episode to finding out. On Amplify Your Success Podcast episode 280 I'm joined by four of my friends and fellow podcasters, Jennifer Henczel, Kimmie Seltzer, Tiphany Kane and Michelle Abraham, who are all speaking at Podfest in the Women In Podcasting Track. But, as I begin another trip around the sun, I find myself doing a lot of deep thinking. From “what have I accomplished?” to “what more is there to do?” And of course, “Am I on the right path?” When Tiphany Kane asked me to be a guest on her podcast, Radical Audacity, I was reminded of just how much life is a falling into. Were you a compliant child who did everything your caregivers asked of you to stay in the bounds of their conditional love? I sure was.I was praised for being quiet and following the rules.I was deathly afraid of my own voice, which had the power to get me criticized, mocked, shamed, or rejected. I lost my authenticity and became a sponge to other people's blame. The compliant child gets praised in our society. I was raised to follow that pattern, but I'm working on stopping it by teaching my son how to disagree respectfully and appropriately. What is the problem with raising compliant children? In this episode, I share the negative effects of my childhood compliance in my adulthood. It has kept me immature, not knowing myself, and very codependent in my adult relationships with significant others. Through therapy and a lot of reading, I have learned that I am not responsible for another person's actions, feelings, or choices. But living that assertion and voicing my opinions in love relationships, especially when sex is involved, is a work in progress. How has compliance affected your love relationships? Ambitious women face unique challenges and choices in our relationships with others. But before we can face outward relationships, we have to face our relationship with self. "I feel like my entire life I have been this person yelling 'HELL YES!' inside, but completely suffocating on the outside." "When you are consistently living to someone else's view of you and what they say you should and shouldn't be doing, you literally, physically become ill. Your body cannot survive in those situations.  And that was the point I got to. Where the toxicity in the relationship and the marriage was so bad and I had lost myself so far that I ended up being hospitalized a couple of times because ent blood pressure was out of control, my thyroid was out of control, my kidneys were doing really bad. At one point I was on 12 different medications. And no one could really give me a definitive answer about what was wrong. I was just literally physically failing and I was so not being true to myself. And with in less that a year of leaving thy marriage I was off every single med except one."

"This isn't right for me?" How many times have you said these words to yourself and stood in the tension of what to do next? Spoiler alert: Your gut is usually right...even if the choice is difficult to make.  Even if it means walking away from what feels safe to take a risk at living your best life. Tiphany Kane took a powerful step forward when she left her conservative, patriarchal religion at 19. It was the first time she said "no" to something she didn't resonate with her, in order to say "Heck Yes!" to herself. She lost everything important to her, but found something greater...herself.  On this episode of HIListically Speaking, Tiphany opens up about walking away from her faith, a toxic relationship and a career that was stealing her shine. And how she used that rocket fuel to empower others to share their voices and stories and say, "Heck Yes!" once and for all.   Connect with Tiphany on Instagram:  @TiphanyKane and @podcastermindset Get Tiphany's guide to the #1 mistake new podcasters make and how to avoid it. https://bit.ly/1_mistake Interested in launching a podcast, try SquadCast free for 7 days!  Just visit this link: https://squadcast.fm/?ref=hilaryrusso Connect with Hilary and learn more about how you can relieve your stress and anxiety and tune into your happy. www.hilaryrusso.com/havening HIListically Speaking with Hilary Russo Created/Hosted by Hilary Russo Edited by David Sais Music by Lipbone Redding Recorded on SquadCast Connect with Hilary Instagram: @HilaryRusso Twitter: @HilaryRusso Facebook: @HilaryRusso TikTok @hilisticallyspeaking Website: www.hilaryrusso.com

Everyone resonates with a story like Tiphany Kane's. Tiphany grew up in a patriarchal family dictated by religion. Though she left the church at 20, the relationship foundations she learned stayed with her. Tiphany went above and beyond to make her marriage work, and abuse wasn't enough to make her leave.   After a life-changing event, Tiphany realized that her marriage was toxic and needed to end. As she faced the financially devastating journey of divorce, Tiphany realized how important it is to also keep her family intact. It hasn't been easy, but Tiphany has done her best to keep her children and their father on good terms.   Today, Tiphany looks back and is glad she had the foresight to see that abuse is complicated, and more often than not, it's hard to make “the decision” to leave. Through the twists and turns, she's developed an empowering message on handling abuse and making the most out of co-parenting.   Learn more about Tiphany by visiting her website at https://tiphanykane.com/   Interested in self-love? Welcome to our podcast! We are so excited to have you here. Tiphany Kane & David Sais are co-hosts. David is a sound engineer with over 2 decades of experience with dialogue editing. He is also an avid collector of microphones. Can you guess how many mics are on our podcast cover? Tiphany is the host of the podcast, Love & Life After Divorce. She is also a podcast host, public speaker, writer, and professional development expert. Launching Love & Life opened so many doors for us. One of those doors was a podcast coaching business and media management business, KaSa Media Productions. As we began coaching people to launch their podcast, we realized that mindset was the biggest barrier to launching, growing, and monetizing their podcasts. This realizations inspired us to start this podcast. We take the "complicated" parts of podcasting and turn them into simple, actionable steps- and we have fun doing it!
