As children, we learn how to respond to our environment, creating a sub conscious road map of how to navigate the world, in particular, how to survive stressful situations.Unfortunately these programs continue to run through to our adult life and we create repeating patterns as a result. The programs that were designed to once keep us safe, now can hinder us.In this episode, I share how I re-visited a moment of my subconscious programming at the age of 7, and provided my inner child with her unmet need in that moment. These parts of our subconscious are real and by re-connecting and re-parenting our inner child with love and compassion we have the opportunity to heal and make peace with the past. This frees up creative energy and allows us to move forward freely through life.
What is emotional intelligence? Is it important? If so, why? Should we be putting greater emphasis on it? How can we develop our EQ? Let’s explore...

So if you want to avoid coasting and are looking to transform certain areas of your life… this can be a useful tool! Holotropic meets Shamanic healing. I take you through my transformative plant medicine journey during a week away on a Shamanic healing retreat. It involved Holotropic breathwork followed by Shamanic ceremonies and taking a series of amazonian master plants. These plants are traditionally used to facilitate healing and spiritual transformation. They raise the consciousness level and cleanse out dense, lower vibrational energy; fears, negative emotions, deep rooted blocks and cellular entropy. Unbelievably powerful work. I describe the process and the insights I took from it.

Are our beliefs true?…or like in the Matrix, are we plugged into a program? Has the program influenced my relationships, my career, my finances, the decisions I make…EVERYTHING?!!? In this weeks episode I share insights, thoughts and feelings that have opened up since doing Holotropic Breathwork a few weeks ago.Confusion/clarity, awareness/ignorance, certainty/uncertainty….I am experiencing all the dualities at once. The foundation of who I am has been shaken…but this is the burden to bear for the sake of my higher self.
In this episode I speak to Alex da Silva about his addiction story in all forms. From Food, to alcohol, sex and drugs Alex was born in Brazil and came to the UK at the age of 11 without speaking the language. Alex has faced a lot of challenges over the years, including abuse, bullying and anxiety throughout childhood always feeling like he was not good enough, and in adult life has experienced mental health and addiction problems. Today, recovered he is the founder of the Happy As Larry Group, the happiness company specialising in emotional recovery, who’s mission is help change the world, one person at a time.In the uk suicide is currently the biggest killer in men under the age of 45. In a society that has always taught men not to appear weak, we now are seeing a pivotal cultural shift and a lot of discussion around redefining masculinity. Men such as Lewis Howes, Robert Webb and Justin Baldoni are just some of the big names in the public eye that are at the forefront of this conversation. The biggest thing I took away was that we ALL need to look at ways we can take care of our emotional health and emotional recovery and having an open conversation is a great way to start. So I hope you enjoy the episode.

I flew out to Austria last week to do what’s called a Holotrpoic breathwork workshop. This technique was developed by a Czech psychiatrist called Stanislav Grof. He now has over 60 years experience in researching non ordinary states of consciousness as well as the therapeutic potentials of psychedelic substances. He’s also one of the founders of the field of transpersonal psychology. Holotropic broken down means: a journey to wholeness, in ancient Greek.Holotropic breathwork is a type of self exploration and healing that uses a combination of the breath with evocative load music, while lying on a mat wearing an eye mask. This enables you to go into your body more readily, by removing external visual stimulus. This method he developed is designed to allow you to enter this expanded state of consciousness. The session lasts 3 hours and you pair up with someone who sits for you while you breathe, to make sure you are safe, to give you water when you need it, to take you to the toilet, give you tissues etc. The sessions are supported by a group of trained facilitators. Each session evokes a completely unique to the individual. It has been a very powerful experience for me and I wanted to share some of the realisations I’ve had through the process. For more information on Holotropic Breathwork visit... http://www.holotropic-association.euhttp://www.holotropic-association.eu
Do we all suffer from a fear of abandonment? This is common amongst adoptees.I am the eldest of four girls. We then have two half sisters who are biological children of our mum, from a second marriage. In this episode, I explore my sister’s story, her experience of adoption, how this has impacted her growing up and whether both Emma & I run an abandonment story.

Can we make open relationships work? Almost 1 in 2 marriages end in divorce. Have we just been socially and culturally conditioned to believe that this is 'the way'. Our life span has lengthened, we live more separated than ever....can one person fulfill all our needs that previously we would have got from an entire community?
