We're joined by Stefanie Powers for a layered conversation that spans Hollywood's golden-era traditions, cultural change, and a life shaped by both stardom and purpose. For those in the Los Angeles area, Stefanie, with co-star Patrick Wayne, will be performing 'Love Letters' at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood as a benefit for the William Holden Wildlife Foundation on January 11, 2026!Stefanie reflects on growing up alongside future screen legends at Hollywood High School, and how her lifelong love of animals began at home, thanks to a stepfather who raised thoroughbreds and kept exotic animals. Her first professional job came at age 15 when she was cast in the film West Side Story, where the young cast prepared by listening to recordings of real New York street kids to capture authentic rhythms and speech patterns. However, Stefanie's tender age required too many work time restrictions as the production's intensity ramped up and her part was re-cast. She describes old school studio system rigors, where actors “sold their lives” for a seven-year contract. Restrictive, yes, but also an entertainment education that taught singing, dancing, acting, and stage presence, alongside publicity essentials.Still under contract with Columbia, she was loaned out to United Artists to make McLintock! and Stefanie shares memories of working with John, Michael and Patrick Wayne. The legendary show biz tales are boundless. Did you know that Natalie Wood, Jill St. John and Stephanie were all in the same childhood dance class? All would, one way or another, be married to Robert Wagner. And, true story: During a painful divorce, Stefanie was offered solace at Roddy McDowell's house by fellow travelers, Elizabeth Taylor and Ava Gardner. She also recounts the party at Dean Martin's home where she danced the night away with Bobby Kennedy Sr. as he encouraged her to use her Spanish language skills to become more civically involved with Latino communities here at home. She also speaks candidly about her complex romantic relationship with William Holden, whose influence on her life is ongoing. In his name, she has created The William Holden Wildlife Foundation in Kenya where local youth learn biodiversity, species conservation and alternatives to habitat destruction for humans and wildlife. And of course, we talk Hart To Hart where Stefanie starred with Robert Wagner. She was actually on her way to Broadway when a newspaper strike halted her production of Cyrano, and freed her to take a pilot that would change her life!In current media --Fritz: (joined by his daughter Carly!) Today, 85% of people in the United States are familiar with the term “podcast,” a figure that represents a 10% increase since 2020. Familiarity does not necessarily mean regular listening, but it does signal cultural awareness. As podcasts are referenced more frequently on radio, television, and online platforms, they continue to move out of the “podcaster bubble” and into everyday conversation. This special episode is streaming for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and most every major Podcast platform. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Awareness Is One Thing, Listening Is Another Listening habits reveal just how powerful podcasting has become. In mid-2023, Edison Research reported a major shift in media consumption: on-demand audio, including podcasts and streaming music, surpassed traditional AM/FM radio in total listening time across the United States. Podcasts That Are Different: How The Law Enforcement Talk Podcast Reaches Millions for Free. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. That trend has only accelerated. According to Infinite Dial data released in early 2025, 70% of Americans have listened to a podcast at least once, up from 55% in 2020. While listening dipped briefly in 2022 as pandemic routines normalized, both monthly and weekly consumption rebounded strongly in 2023 and has continued to grow. Podcasting, it is now clear, is no longer an experiment. It is a mainstream medium. A Podcast That Breaks the Mold Among the thousands of shows competing for attention, some podcasts stand out by doing things differently. One of those is the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, a program built around police, crime, trauma, and real-life stories, delivered without cost and without filters. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. “It's 100 percent free,” the show's creator often emphasizes. “No subscriptions, no credit cards, and no paywalls. Podcasts That Are Different: How The Law Enforcement Talk Podcast Reaches Millions for Free. Equally important is the show's tone. “This isn't a lecture, and it's never a sales pitch,” the host explains. “It's about personal experience. With more than 780 free episodes available, and new episodes released every Wednesday and Sunday, the show offers an expansive library of stories that resonate well beyond one profession. Each episode is a conversation, not an interview. Guests are encouraged to speak openly, allowing their experiences to unfold naturally. Podcasts That Are Different: How The Law Enforcement Talk Podcast Reaches Millions for Free. Approximately 75% of the episodes focus on trauma-related stories, often connected to crime. Guests include law enforcement officers, firefighters, paramedics, military members, victims of violent crime, survivors, and family members. These conversations explore the impact of trauma, not only on the individual, but on families, relationships, and long-term purpose. The full podcast episode is streaming now on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. “The trauma doesn't end when the incident does,” one guest explains during an episode. “It follows you home, into your family, into your future.” The remaining 25% of episodes focus on crime investigations, presenting the realities of police work as they truly are, far removed from Hollywood dramatizations. A Familiar Format With a Broad Audience The show's structure mirrors popular television programs, in an audio format, such as The Homicide Hunter and Murder Chose Me. Those shows are not designed exclusively for detectives; they are meant for the general public, offering real stories told by those who lived them. You can find the show on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), and LinkedIn, as well as read companion articles and updates on Medium, Blogspot, YouTube, and even IMDB. The same philosophy applies here. “Many of the guests are current or former police officers,” the host notes, “but the stories aren't just for police. In this segment Jimmy and documentary filmmaker Ryan Matta criticize TPUSA's recent AmericaFest event, highlighting Tim Dillon's commentary that Erika Kirk's flashy, Hollywood-style entrance and early endorsement of JD Vance felt staged, elitist, and disconnected from everyday people. They accuse Ben Shapiro of influencing TPUSA toward a pro-Israel direction and allege growing internal tension at the organization. Jimmy and Ryan also discuss the multiple claims and suspicious allegations surrounding Charlie Kirk's death, donor influence, and TPUSA's future, framed as a hostile takeover driven by powerful interests. Overall, the video portrays TPUSA as shifting from grassroots authenticity to a choreographed spectacle driven by wealthy donors, media manipulation, and political positioning. Plus segments on the brutal backlash CBS News head Bari Weiss faced after killing a 60 Minutes story on the Trump administration sending migrants to a notorious El Salvadoran prison, Donald Trump defending Bill Clinton against Epstein charges and TPUSA setting up a Charlie Kirk "death tent" at events for fans to take selfies. Also featuring Kurt Metzger and Stef Zamorano!

This Christmas, Shat The Movies takes a detour into one of the strangest holiday comedies ever made with Mixed Nuts, Nora Ephron's chaotic 1994 remake of the French farce Le Père Noël est une ordure. We're revisiting this deeply uncomfortable Christmas movie in honor of the late Rob Reiner, who helped define smart, character-driven comedies—even when they didn't always work. Gene and Big D unpack how a film with an absurdly stacked cast—Steve Martin, Madeline Kahn, Rita Wilson, Adam Sandler, Juliette Lewis, and Liev Schreiber—somehow became a cult curiosity instead of a holiday classic. They debate whether Mixed Nuts was simply ahead of its time, fatally misjudged in tone, or doomed by trying to balance farce, mental health, and Christmas cheer in the same gift box. Along the way, the guys reflect on why Mixed Nuts now plays less like a failed holiday romp and more like a bizarre time capsule of transitional Hollywood. Is this a Christmas movie worth reclaiming—or one best left buried under the tree? This episode originally aired on March 12, 2025. Hollywood taught us to be afraid of a super powerful artificial intelligence that will one day conquer humanity. So not surprisingly, many screenwriters and actors are very skeptical of AI, and concerns about AI were central to the Hollywood labor strikes in 2023. But animators may actually be the most at risk of losing their jobs to AI. In this episode, we’ll talk about why the first AI generated movies you will see will likely be animated, and what it means for the people who make them, and for everyone else in Hollywood. Police Addicted to Drugs And His Amazing Recovery, Special Episode. Police Officer Attacked, Multiple Surgeries, Forced Retirement, Addiction, and an Inspiring Recovery. This special episode is streaming for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and most every major Podcast platform Brock Bevell never imagined that a single violent moment would change the entire trajectory of his life. A retired Mesa, Arizona police officer, Brock dedicated his career to public service, until a targeted act of violence ended his time on the job and set him on a painful, unexpected journey through addiction and recovery. Look for The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast on social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. “She threw the truck into reverse and hit me,” Brock recalls. “In an instant, everything changed.” Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . A Career Cut Short by Violence While serving with the Mesa Police Department, Brock was seriously injured during a violent incident involving a vehicle. The attack caused devastating, career-ending injuries and required multiple surgeries. What followed was a long and grueling rehabilitation process, one familiar to many injured officers across the country. Police Addicted to Drugs And His Amazing Recovery, Special Episode. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and other podcast platforms. To manage the intense pain, Brock was prescribed opioid pain medication. Like countless patients recovering from serious injuries, he trusted the prescriptions meant to help him heal. Instead, they quietly became the beginning of a much deeper struggle. From Recovery to Addiction During months of surgeries and physical therapy, Brock developed a severe dependence on opioid painkillers. What started as medically prescribed relief slowly evolved into addiction. “I didn't recognize myself anymore,” Brock says. “My world became smaller and darker. I was surviving, not living.” Brock openly shares how addiction affected every part of his life, his relationships, his identity, and his sense of purpose after forced retirement from policing. His story reflects a reality many first responders face but few openly discuss. Police Addicted to Drugs And His Amazing Recovery, Special Episode. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. The Science Behind the Crisis Research underscores just how common Brock's experience is. A major study published in JAMA Internal Medicine by researchers at the Stanford University School of Medicine found that patients undergoing 11 common surgeries faced an increased risk of becoming chronic opioid users. Lead author Eric Sun, MD, PhD, explained: “For a lot of surgeries, there is a higher chance of getting hooked on painkillers.” The study defined chronic opioid use as filling 10 or more prescriptions or receiving more than a 120-day supply within a year after surgery. Patients undergoing knee surgery faced the highest risk, nearly five times that of nonsurgical patients, followed by gallbladder surgery. Importantly, the study did not suggest avoiding surgery, but emphasized the need for careful monitoring and alternative pain management strategies. Police Addicted to Drugs And His Amazing Recovery, Special Episode. The interview can be found on The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and across most podcast platforms where listeners will find authentic law enforcement stories. Trauma, Policing, and Substance Use Law enforcement officers face unique occupational hazards, including repeated exposure to trauma. Studies show that substance use disorders, including alcohol and drug dependence, occur at higher rates among officers, particularly those experiencing psychological distress. In nationally representative data, more than half of men with lifetime PTSD also had a history of alcohol abuse or dependence. For police officers, these risks are compounded by work stress, injuries, and the cultural stigma surrounding mental health and asking for help. “We wear the uniform, but we're human,” Brock says. “And sometimes the damage doesn't show until it's almost too late.” The full podcast episode is streaming now on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Hitting Bottom and Choosing Recovery Brock's turning point came when he realized addiction had taken everything it could from him. With professional help, support, and unwavering determination, he entered recovery and committed to sobriety. “Recovery didn't give me my old life back,” he says. “It gave me a new one, one with purpose.” Police Addicted to Drugs And His Amazing Recovery, Special Episode. Today, Brock uses his experience to help others struggling with addiction, trauma, and life after law enforcement. His message is clear: recovery is possible, even after profound loss. Healing Beyond the Badge In the aftermath of violence and trauma, communities often look to police officers as symbols of strength. Yet officers themselves must also heal. Proactive wellness programs, mental health resources, and open conversations about addiction are critical, not just for officers, but for the communities they serve. Mesa, located just east of Phoenix, is known for its deep history, from the ancient Hohokam culture to the modern city Brock once patrolled. PREVIEW Guests: Scott McGill and Susanna Wright. Rice University classicists McGill and Wright discuss their new translation of Virgil's Aeneid, a "Hollywood worthy" epic detailing the origins of Rome. The narrative follows Aeneas leading a band of refugees from the burning ruins of Troy westward to their destined home in Italy. Their journey is fraught with the goddess Juno's opposition, leading to a detour in Carthage and a tragic romance with Dido. The poem concludes with a fierce war in Italy, ending abruptly as Aeneas kills his rival Turnus, securing the legacy where Trojansultimately become Romans. In this episode of Ron's Amazing Stories, we return to the tense days of 1940, when the world was already at war—and America was watching the storm clouds gather. The Story comes from Lux Radio Theatre: the radio adaptation of the MGM film Flight Command. Released in 1940, the film starred Robert Taylor, Ruth Hussey, and Walter Pidgeon, with all three reprising their roles for radio. It was the first Hollywood film to openly glorify the American military after the outbreak of World War II in Europe—arriving a full year before the United States entered the conflict. The story follows Navy Ensign Alan Drake, a rookie pilot assigned to an elite fighter squadron known as the "Hellcats." Struggling with early mistakes and a damaging misunderstanding, Drake must ultimately prove his skill, courage, and character during a dangerous test of new blind-landing equipment. In the opening segment, Ron explores Flight Command's place in history and its quiet role in preparing audiences for the realities ahead. Before the story begins, we look at the real-life inspiration behind the film's squadron: Fighting Squadron 8 (VF-8), one of the Navy's early elite aviation units. In the closing segment, Ron discusses the real-world invention that made the film's dramatic finale possible—the early instrument landing systems that allowed pilots to land safely in zero-visibility conditions, forever changing aviation. A story of duty, discipline, and courage in uncertain times—this is Flight Command. In this electrifying episode we welcome the fabulous Phil Stallone — celebrity psychic, tarot reader, and Armenian coffee-cup diviner — for an unforgettable mix of laughs, intuition, and a sprinkle of scandal and year end predictions. Segment 1: Meet The Psychic StalloneStill in New York, Pol' and Patrik kick things off with pure sass: “He's gay as f*** — like our T-shirt line!” Phil dives into his world of tarot, astrology, and TikTok fame, warning about online imposters and offering listeners a cheeky discount code “BILL10.” Between OnlyFans jokes, foot-pic confessions, and playful flirting, the vibe is pure entertainment. Phil recalls a decade in Hollywood's film industry before trading set design for spiritual design — swapping props for pentacles. Segment 2: Cards & CacklesArmed with tarot decks, Phil reads both hosts with flair. “Mercury's retrograde, bitch,” he warns as the cards reveal transformation and power.✨ Highlights: · Eight of Swords → Breaking free from mental limits. · The Tower → “Wake-up energy” bringing new beginnings. · Queen of Wands → Confidence and manifestation. · Queen of Pentacles → Abundance and partnership.Phil praises Pol's and Patrik's bond (“two queens slizzy-slaying together”) and lovingly includes their iconic pup Snow White 90210, saying animals heighten their good energy. Segment 3: Love, Loss & Leveling UpThe convo deepens as Phil opens up about past relationships and resilience. Between heartfelt moments, he jokes, “You don't need a husband, you need a butler!” reminding everyone that self-love is the best magic. Segment 4: Manifestation MagicThe energy rises with The Magician, Judgment, and Ace of Wands—a triple cosmic confirmation that big creative wins are ahead. Phil urges them not to sign contracts during Mercury Retrograde (“Wait till the 29th!”) and to write intentions, burn them, and manifest like queens. Yet not all is glitter: The Knight of Pentacles and Page of Swords hint at a sneaky, younger energy. “More levels, more devils,” Phil says, reminding them that haters are just background noise. Segment 5: Hollywood Tea & FarewellPhil teases connections with Julie Pacino, jokes about Staten Island winters, and dreams of L.A. sunshine. As laughter fills the studio, Patrik flips their signature line: “Usually we undress our guests—but today, we got undressed by you.” A fiery mix of psychic insight, celebrity tea, and fabulous humor, this episode proves that healing can sparkle as bright as couture. Ever since we started hosting live Collider Ladies Night panels at San Diego Comic-Con, we've been tempted to explore doing group editions of the show, and what better ensemble to start that with than the women of the new Knives Out movie?Mila Kunis, Cailee Spaeny and Kerry Washington are some of the latest to join Rian Johnson's growing Knives Out family. In the third installment of the Oscar-nominated franchise, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Spaeny and Washington play two of Monsignor Wicks' (Josh Brolin) parishioners. Washington's Vera Draven is a lawyer whose father was a close friend to Wicks before he passed, and Spaeny plays Simone Vivane, a renowned concert cellist struggling with health concerns. When Monsignor Wicks is suddenly killed in the middle of a service while totally alone in the storage closet, Kunis' Police Chief Geraldine Scott calls upon Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) to investigate. Could Vera or Simone have killed Wicks? Or perhaps it was another member of his flock? Or, what about the church newcomer, Josh O'Connor's Father Jud Duplenticy? This time around, Blanc will have to do the impossible — solve a locked-room murder mystery. The Knives Out movies have become highly regarded for their summer camp-like sets and for their unparalleled rosters of talent, and Wake Up Dead Man is no different. Not only are Kunis, Spaeny and Washington fantastic additions to this cinematic world, but they also rock a wonderful group dynamic in an interview setting, one oozing with enthusiasm for each other as people and artists, feelings that left them eager to reunite for another film.
