These experiences completely changed their lives. Her first book, The Miracle of Death: There Is Nothing But Life, is about these altered states of consciousness. After her retirement, she began an intensified period of research into our ancestors' experience of a vaster consciousness, Cosmic/Christ Consciousness, which she relates in her new book, Merchants of Light: The Consciousness That Is Changing the World, winner of the Nautilus Silver Book Award and The Scientific & Medical Network 2019 Book Prize. Please enjoy my conversation with Betty Kovács.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.
Your mind reflects the greater mind. In a dream, cosmologist Bernard Carr sees two trains on a collision course—one representing quantum physics, the other relativity theory. The next day, he reads an article about the collision between these two scientific paradigms. Was it precognition? Synchronicity? This experience challenges our conventional understanding of time, shifting from a linear 3D perspective to deeper, subjective layers. Carr shares more stories of meaningful coincidences, leading into a discussion of how physics continually expands our awareness—from the tiniest particles, like quarks, to the vast cosmos. As cosmologists delve deeper into the universe, they increasingly perceive it as a vast, ever-expanding mind—a thought in constant motion. Bernard Carr is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London. For his PhD he studied the first second of the universe with Stephen Hawking at Cambridge University and Caltech. He then held Research Fellowships at Trinity College and the Institute of Astronomy in Cambridge before moving to Queen Mary. His professional area of research is cosmology and includes such topics as the early universe, black holes, dark matter and the anthropic principle. He is also very interested in the role of consciousness, regarding this as a fundamental rather than incidental feature of the Universe. He is President of the Scientific and Medical Network and a former President of the Society for Psychical Research. B.J.Carr@qmul.ac.uk Bernard D. Bernard Carr has kept a synchronicity diary for 30 years, knowing that if he did not write them down, they would be forgotten. As a cosmologist he is very interested in time and describes his own experiences with precognition. He also describes how clocks stop sometimes when people die and other mind-matter interactions. The latter half of our discussion focuses on the anthropic principle, how our universe is fine tuned to create the potential for our existence. He suggests that it is our arrogance that makes us believe this is the only universe, that the multiverse is real. He suggests that we need much higher dimensions to understand our minds, that there is a greater Mind of which we are a part trying to get to know itself as each of us may be trying to get to know ourselves. *This episode was originally uploaded to YouTube on October 28, 2024* Bernard Carr is Emeritus Professor of Mathematics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London. Dr. Vollrath saw a problem. No cohesive system for doctors to find or post jobs. He saw scattered conversations across forums, Facebook, and WhatsApp and figured he could do something about it. So he co-founded Cherry Health, Canada's Medical Network where more than 2,000 monthly job seekers and over 1,300 employers post and look for their next job or locum opportunity. Join me and listen in to this episode about the founding of Cherry Health, how it's helping physicians across Canada and how to get started. Jordan, who is a practicing physician and co-founder of Cherry Health, also shares his own journey using the platform and the entrepreneurial journey that led him into the tech space with a mission to make a difference for overwhelmed doctors across Canada. To get started, be sure to go to cherry.health (yes, that's the site). There you can create your profile and download the app on your phone and get started. Whether you're new in practice looking for places to work to get a feel for where you'd like to settle down, or an established physician looking for someone to take over your practice for a few weeks so you can take a vacation, be sure to check out Cherry Health. If you've got a lot of unanswered questions about your finances, like if you're making the most of your corporation, if you're putting enough away in the right places to retire, and more, you might be a good fit for a fee-based plan. Click here to book a free discovery call where I'll help you figure out if a fee-based plan could help you: https://www.galenhelpsdocs.com/call. As of posting this, I've opened the doors for "New Year, New Plan" for five physicians who want to hit the ground running in the new year with a plan. If you think you might be one of those five, click the link.

Mick worked for many years as an NHS occupational therapist in acute mental health settings and in a specialist psychological therapies team. During this time he spent nine years training in Process Oriented Psychology. He then spent ten years working as a Lecturer and Director of Admissions within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK. Mick's doctoral thesis (2012), along with his peer-reviewed articles and book chapters are mostly focused on the activation of our transpersonal potential and the process of renewal within experiences of spiritual emergence and emergency. Mick is deeply interested in how our transformative experiences inspire our personal processes of individuation, as well as our collective efforts to tackle the multiple crises in the world at this time. Mick has written three books, The Unselfish Spirit 2014 (Scientific and Medical Network book prize winner), The Visionary Spirit 2018 and The Restorative Spirit 2022 (Scientific and Medical Network book prize winner). A great talk on the yearly November online conference “Beyond the Brain” with David Lorimer, who is the program director for the Scientific and Medical Network who hosts the yearly conference. Hear how many people of science and medicine ARE interested in life after death and consciousness existing outside of the body. David has a LOT of credentials under his belt, including being the author of over a dozen books, including ‘Survival: Death as Transition', and ‘Science, Consciousness and Ultimate Reality.' David's guest today is Dr Joan Walton, a researcher in the School of Education, Psychology and Language at York St John University, UK. Joan has had an interest in consciousness studies from her early 20s, influenced initially by the work of Carl Jung, which led her to the work of other transpersonal psychologists, philosophers, scientists and writers about religions and spiritual traditions. Her focus has always been on the relevance of intellectual exploration for how we live our lives on a daily basis, and her working life in social work and education has reflected this. Passionate about the importance of early years, Joan's current research focuses on how to enhance the quality of intergenerational relating, with the aim of creating inclusive communities which encourage connection and compassion through the nurturing of mutually caring relationships across generations. Central to this is the idea of a participatory consciousness, in which everything and everyone is interconnected. Joan is a member of the Board of Directors in the SMN, a member of the Galileo Commission Steering Group, and Chair of the Executive Committee of the International Network for the Study of Spirituality. David's guest today is Dr Monica Gagliano who is Research Associate Professor in Evolutionary Ecology at the Biological Intelligence (BI) Lab, Southern Cross University in Perth, Australia. Her main research is broadly focusing on key aspects of the ecological processes by which organisms are able to gather information on the variable conditions of their surrounding environment in order to thrive. In collaboration with various disciplines across the Sciences and the Humanities, her research aims at expanding our perception of animals, plants and more generally Nature. In particular, he is developing a new psychophysical paradigm linking matter and mind which accommodates normal, paranormal, and mystical experiences. He also has a long-standing interest in the relationship between science and religion, especially Buddhism, having been the coholder of a grant from the Templeton Foundation for a project entitled “Fundamental Physics, Cosmology and the Problem of our Existence".
