There's no unnecessary explaining, no safety net, simply nature & some creepy guy slowly asserting dominance."Apex" is directed by Baltasar Kormákur, and is about two strangers (Charlize Theron & Taron Egerton) trapped in a brutal, increasingly desperate battle for survival across harsh land. It's deliberately simple, almost to an extreme. A Man hunts a woman. Both are pushed to their limits. Set in both present-time as well as 1970 this story follows both the struggles of an emerging love as well as the hopes of rekindling what was some 50 years earlier. THE FALL GUY, directed by David Leitch from a script written by Drew Pearce, is loosely based on the 1980's TV series about a stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter.  The film version follows a stuntman (Ryan Gosling) working on his ex-girlfriend's (Emily Blunt) directorial debut action film, only to find himself involved in a conspiracy surrounding the film's lead actor (Aaron Taylor-Johnson). ELÍSABET RONALDSDÓTTIR, ACE Elísabet Ronaldsdóttir is an award winning tv and film editor, who has worked on over 50 feature films, television programs, documentaries, as well as animated features. She is best known for her collaborations with film directors David Leitch for BULLET TRAIN (2023), JOHN WICK (2014), ATOMIC BLONDE (2017), DEADPOOL 2 (2018) and Baltasar Kormákur for JAR CITY (2006), THE SEA (2002) and CONTRABAND (2012).  Although Elísabet edited various movies throughout her career, she developed international recognition for her ability to balance humor and seriousness in action features. She built her international prominence by editing CONTRABAND (2012) and later JOHN WICK (2014), which also began her career-long partnerships with Baltasar Kormákur and David Leitch. She first started in the industry by editing Icelandic tv programs, shows, and films. Elísabet is also actively participating and changing the industry. She is a founding member and two-term inaugural chairwoman of Women in Film & Television Iceland (WIFT Iceland). In addition, Elísabet has sat on the Icelandic Producers Guild board and served for two years as chairwoman of The Icelandic Film & TV Academy in 2005 and 2006. Since 2007 Elísabet has been a board member of the prominent Filmmakers at Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF). Born and raised in Reykjavik Iceland, Elísabet is graduate of the London Film School. Jenny Eagan, costume designer for the new star-studded Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, has a career path defined by opportunities taken. Although she did not formally study costume design, her many award-winning projects feature characters who leap off the screen, thanks in no small part to her costumes. Who would have thought a girl from Independence, Missouri would end up in this profession? “Certainly not my Mom,” laughs Eagan. “I wanted to be a middle-school teacher to make a difference. Halfway through college, I switched to textile marketing and merchandising because I love clothes, but never knew that could lead to working in the entertainment industry.” Post-graduation, Eagan drove cross country to live in San Diego, where she became ‘excellent on rollerblades' before following friends to Los Angeles. She joined a temp agency and her first interview was for a low budget film. As fate would have it, Mary Zophres was the costume designer on her second temp job. Eagan shadowed her on weekends, getting coffee and grabbing lunches. She observed and absorbed everything, until Zophres invited her to join the team on Any Given Sunday, her first job as a production assistant. Six months at Western Costume Company gained her entry into the Union. She spent over a decade with Zophres, progressing from production assistant to assistant costume designer. “Mary hates when I say she was an amazing mentor, but I didn't know anything and she taught me everything.” Her first feature as a costume designer was Contraband, with Mark Wahlberg and director Baltasar Kormákur, but the project that launched her career was the first season of True Detective for HBO. The show garnered her the Costume Designers Guild Award for Best Contemporary Television Series in 2015. “It was an amazing experience and a confidence builder for me.” Eagan moved on to design several small but critically acclaimed films and television series including Olive Kitteridge which won her an Emmy, Widows, and the celebrated Beasts of No Nation. The first iteration of the Knives Out trilogy, written and directed by Rian Johnson, was an unmitigated hit. “Because of our limited shoot time, we had all guns blazing,” she says. “I feel like I fit every single one of the cast members the week before. Thankfully, Rian wrote well-defined characters and chose seasoned actors. We were all in sync.” She was awarded her third CDGA for her efforts. Johnson wanted everyone to ratchet it up for the sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Eagan decided early on that most of the costumes would be custom made. Shooting on a remote island off Greece and in Serbia during Covid, she knew she could not count on shopping. She prepped in Los Angeles, anticipating multiples for principals and stunt doubles, then brought extra fabrics to cover her back. While designing the first Knives Out, Eagan forged great relationships with Johnson and producer Ram Bergman. They agreed that travel during the pandemic could be problematic and allowed her to bring her union team from Los Angeles. She brought ACD Jessica Albertson, supervisor Emily Egge, set costumer Claire Sandrin, and cutter/fitter Erica Ciaglia. “Claire, Emily, and I first worked together on No Country for Old Men (designed by Mary Zophres) and have collaborated as much as possible since. Í gær og fyrradag sýndu listamennirnir, bæði fangar og frjálsir, á Litla Hrauni og svo Eyrarbakka. Verkefnið er á vegum Sögu listavinnuseturs og félagasamtakanna Múrar Brotnir. Við ræðum við þrjá skipuleggjendur verkefnisins. Drungalegur sumarslagari sem var saminn og tekinn upp á níunda áratugnum en kom ekki út fyrr en árið 2013 verður undir smásjánni í dag. DJarnir og hljómsveitin Johnny Blaze og Hakki Brakes komu með umrætt lag á USB-lykli og ræddu syntha, ölduhljóð og aðdáun sína á þessu lagi sem þeir spila á dj-settum, áður en gestir mæta, aðallega fyrir sjálfa sig. Baltasar Kormákur sendi nýlega frá sér kvikmyndina Beast, skepnuna, um morðótt ljón sem heldur Idris Elba og fjölskyldu í gíslingu. Undanfarnar viku fór hópur alþjóðlegra listamanna farið daglega inn á fangelsið á Litla Hrauni og unnið list með vistmönnum.
