For the VIDEO production of this Bloody Elbow Presents YT channel broadcast, visit us at: https://youtu.be/VVnMx-Zszow UFC Hall of Famer & former middleweight champion, Michael "The Count" Bisping, catches up with Bloody Elbow's own Eddie Mercado, Fight Analyst, Author, & MMA Competitor. This exclusive Bloody Elbow Presents Interview includes discussions with "The Count" on his new movie release, on how to be successful in life, some of the commentating challenges he faces, his feuds with Dan Henderson and Luke Rockhold, and he even gives a prediction for a hypothetical MMA match between fellow commentators Jon Anik and Brendan Fitzgerald. Michael “The Count” Bisping was never a blue chip prospect in MMA. However, through sheer grit and determination he kept defying the odds to reach such achievements as becoming the TUF 3 winner, the UFC middleweight champion (with one eye), as well as being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019. Since retiring from competition in 2017 with a respectable record of 30-9, Bisping has settled in as a UFC commentator, and also has a new documentary coming out on March 22nd on Digital and On Demand called "Bisping: The Michael Bisping Story". Q1: You're the former UFC middleweight champion, a UFC Hall of Famer, the TUF 3 winner, an actor, commentator, I saw you on this gameshow with souped up cars. You have quite the laundry list of accomplishments, so what is the driving force that inspires you to pursue your passions? - At 0:54 Q2: Your consistency is unrivaled in the sport of MMA and downright remarkable. I'm sure you're aware of this, but since you turned pro in 2004, you fought at least two times every single year until you retired in 2017. So for you, what are some of the coping mechanisms you developed over the years to help you on those days when you're not motivated, you're banged up, but you still have to show up? - At 2:10 Q3: You won the UFC middleweight title at UFC 199 in 2016 by knocking out Luke Rockhold in your rematch. After winning the belt, did you go on an ‘I told you so' tour? - At 4:41 Q4: What was more satisfying, avenging your Dan Henderson loss to defend the belt, or avenging your Luke Rockhold loss to win the belt? - At 6:27 Q5: One thing you're known for is your gift of gab. You've always been someone who can sell a fight and build interest around your matches, no matter who was standing across from you. Do you have any advice for those fighters who might be more introverted, or more reserved in the public eye, to help them build their following? - At 7:56 Q6: Your gift of gab has also landed you a gig as a UFC commentator. It might look easy on TV, but it must actually be pretty challenging being the one there live all night with producers in your ear, a ton of source material to know, and of course all of the internet trolls being over critical. What would you say is the hardest part of that job? - At 10:24 Q7: Jon Anik vs. Brendan Fitzgerald in an MMA match, who takes it? - At 16:54 Q8: Aside from commentating, you have a new documentary coming out on March 22nd on Digital and On Demand called "Bisping: The Michael Bisping Story". What's at the heart of this film? - 18:23 Q9: What do you hope will be the audience's biggest takeaway from this movie? - At 20:22 You can follow Eddie on twitter — @TheEddieMercado and you can find us @BloodyElbow. Check out Michael Bisping's official twitter while you're there — @bisping; & for more on the documentary visit — @BispingDoc. Brendan Fitzgerald is a play-by-play announcer for the UFC. He also has his own podcast and YouTube show called Fitz Nation: Stories and Life Lessons from the UFC where he does a great job talking to fighters and allowing them to open up on their own terms. Brendan always wanted to be a sports broadcaster, he started by doing high schools & colleges until 2017, when he got the opportunity to audition for Dana White's Contender Series. With little to no MMA background, Brendan passed the audition and became a staple in the UFC commentator booth. Brendan and I discussed How he landed his current job in the UFC An insight into the preparation needed before a live broadcast What it's like calling fights without fans The difficulty of commentating abroad or away from home His most memorable UFC event Objectivity when calling fights Being persistent in chasing your goals The importance of authenticity And much more... Brendan Fitzgerald My Take: Life is rarely a linear line. In order to get to the top, you have to go through some valleys and smaller peaks before you conquer that renowned summit. Persistence and personal improvement are the names of the game when chasing one's dreams. Don't allow minor setbacks to discourage you from your path; setbacks are simply minor bumps in the road - not a dead end. How To Start A Podcast Support The Podcast

Is It ALWAYS a Good Idea to Be Yourself? Brendan Fitzgerald talks about when being yourself can hold you back.Sometimes, the habit of "being yourself" can give you expectations to live up to based on what those around you know about you. While we want to become more, we often want to achieve it by staying true to ourselves, but that can be difficult. Becoming more than what you are by definition means you can't just be yourself in the process.

The wait is over! Part 2 of my conversation with Aussie babe Gabi Goddard is HERE!!! During this interview with Gabi, I kept saying, “I'm sorry I'm keeping you so long!” but then we just kept talking. SO MUCH FUN! If this gal wasn't across oceans from me, I'd be asking her to hang out all the time. I'm pretty sure you'll feel the same way after listening to her speak. If you haven't listened to Part 1 yet, do yourself a favor and go listen to that first! You'll find us hilarious either way I'm pretty sure, but you'll follow along much easier if you listen in the correct order. To view the full show notes, continue reading here or visit my website: www.heartfelthippie.com Part 1 was mostly devoted to Gabi explaining what fast fashion is and why it is such an issue. In part 2, we're focusing on how we can be a part of the solution! Gabi shares a lot of great (and easy peasy) tips for being a more ethical consumer - shopping secondhand, finding out what brands are ethical and what ones are not, rewearing your wardrobe and getting out of consumeristic cycles, so on and so forth. Gabi is honest about her struggles when it comes to wanting to buy, buy, buy, and I can compleeeeetely relate. Becoming a conscious consumer is a process, but there are so many tools to help you do it! I'm particularly excited about the app that Gabi recommends - link for that is below! Once again, Gabi has so many good thoughts to share. This was also probably the longest amount of time I've spent in an interview chatting about products that we're loving. I could've cut some of it out to make this episode shorter, but I chose not to and you'll hear why. If nothing else, make sure you follow Gabi on the ‘gram after listening to this convo - her style and her words will influence you like they have me. Let's put an end this armor of willful ignorance we've been trying to protect ourselves with and start making an impact for the better through our fashion choices!
