Danny and Sandy...Troy and Gabriella...Baby and Johnny. All vacation romances that became classics in their own right. And then there's another that's maybe not quite as classic: the iconic, infamous, and Golden Raspberry award-winning duo of Justin and Kelly. ~~~“American Idol” season one was an entertainment behemoth in the 2002. It introduced us to sassy judges and gave the world the multi-hyphened legend, Ryan Seacrest. But besides that, it also introduced the world to Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini, the heroes of this episode. After season one was done, the next logical step was taken – LETS MAKE A MOVIE! And a movie, they made… “From Justin to Kelly” was a musical/rom-com/beach flick released in the summer of 2003. Considering how popular “American Idol” was, the film HAD to be a success, right?...This week Ray teaches Rob about the departure of Brian Dunkleman, how apparently Ft. This is Part 2 of Steve Kmetko's chat with Brian Dunkleman who has a lot to say about his experience at American Idol...One of the biggest television shows of the last generation is American Idol. It's the singing talent show that helped define reality TV launching stars like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Jennifer Hudson. If you look back through the history of the show you'll find that in the beginning the iconic series had two hosts, Ryan Seacrest and Brian Dunkleman. One host went on to become a TV mogul. The other, at one point,  ended up driving an Uber. Dennis is joined via Zoom by singer and American Idol alum Jim Verraros on the day he releases his first new music in 12 years, a dance-pop single called "Take My Bow." Jim talks about what inspired him to step in front of the microphone again, how putting out music is different now than it was in the mid-2000s and why he loves a good double entendre. He also talks about his life post-Idol, being the first Idol finalist to come out, landing a record deal and and appearing in films like Eating Out and making the decision to leave LA and the business and return to Chicago. He talks about getting married and divorced and remarried, meeting his current husband Sean on Tinder and taking Sean to Vegas for his birthday to Kelly Clarkson perform. Jim also reveals that he hooked up with another contestant on the Idol tour bus, insists that Brian Dunkleman was way cooler than Ryan Seacrest and agrees with Dennis that Paula Abdul is a national treasure. Other topics include: how having deaf parents made him grow up fast, getting fan letters from prison inmates, getting slagged off in Simon Cowell's book, giving up gymnastics as a teen because he was getting bullied, getting married in Playa Del Carmen, the moment he realized Idol was a phenomenon and why he decided to pose in a jockstrap on Twitter.

Ostensibly designed to discuss three large news stories in the general vicinity of 1994 - Michael Fay's walloping adventure in Singapore, the epic showdown between Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan at the Lillehammer Olympics, and the violent dissolution of John and Lorena Bobbitt's marriage - this entry in the IHOY catalog spends the most time gushing over the sheer genius of one "Weird Al" Yankovic, whose '94 song "Headline News" forms the basis of this discussion. Dial in as Sarah & Joe talk about their earliest memories of the famed parodist, his classic albums Bad Hair Day and Even Worse, his Christmas songs and polkas, and their personal favorites from his vast repertoire. Sarah's off-handed suggestion later to tag Weird Al on Twitter leads the hosts down the road of other random celebrity interactions they've had online, roping in such disparate notables as Nick News' Linda Ellerbee and former American Idol host Brian Dunkleman! And yes, loyal listeners, "Stuck in a Closet with Vanna White" makes another triumphant appearance on the show! Planned as a straight news episode, transformed into a Weird Al lovefest, intense media scrutiny and songs about lasagna are given equal time in this splashed-across-the-front-page thirty-eighth episode!

Batting cleanup, comedian Brian Dunkleman swings for the fences and pulls no punches (and any other sports metaphor you want to throw in) as we talk a good deal about his "reality TV" experience with Mr. J-Lo, Alex Rodriguez on CNBC's "Back in the Game".  Was Dustin Diamond really that big of a tool?  ...and what of Tina Yothers anyway?!  So...umm...yeah.  The guests are Aaron Bonk and Brian Dunkleman....and that's why the episode title is "Bonkleman"

We talk all things fashion, Queen performance hits and misses, and give you our predictions of who will win American Idol. American Idol is an American singing competition series created by Simon Fuller and produced by 19 Entertainment, and is distributed by FremantleMedia North America. It began airing on Fox on June 11, 2002, as an addition to the Idols format based on the British series Pop Idol and has since become one of the most successful shows in the history of American television. For an unprecedented eight consecutive years, from the 2003–04 television season through the 2010–11 season, either its performance or result show had been ranked number one in U.S. television ratings. The concept of the series is to find new solo recording artists, with the winner being determined by the viewers in America. Winners chosen by viewers through telephone, Internet, and SMS text voting were Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks, David Cook, Kris Allen, Lee DeWyze, Scotty McCreery, Phillip Phillips, Candice Glover and Caleb Johnson. American Idol employs a panel of judges who critique the contestants’ performances. The original judges were record producer and music manager Randy Jackson, pop singer and choreographer Paula Abdul and music executive and manager Simon Cowell. The judging panel for the most recent season consists of country singer Luke Bryan, singer Katy Perry, and singer Lionel Richie. The show was originally hosted by radio personality Ryan Seacrest and comedian Brian Dunkleman, with Seacrest continuing on for the rest of the seasons. The success of American Idol has been described as “unparalleled in broadcasting history”. The series was also said by a rival TV executive to be “the most impactful show in the history of television”. It has become a recognized springboard for launching the career of many artists as bona fide stars. According to Billboardmagazine, in its first ten years, “Idol has spawned 345 Billboard chart-toppers and a platoon of pop idols, including Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Daughtry, Fantasia, Ruben Studdard, Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert and Jordin Sparks while remaining a TV ratings juggernaut.” Follow us on http://www.Twitter.com/AfterBuzzTV "Like" Us on http://www.Facebook.com/AfterBuzzTV For more of your post-game wrap up shows for your favorite TV shows, visit http://www.AfterBuzzTV.com --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
