It's an all new That Real Blind Tech show. Join Allison, Brian, and Ed as they discuss the latest in tech news.   We start off discussing a follow up article from two episodes ago, as we may be getting the fight of the century!   A New York City man attempted to drive his car in to Google's Headquarters as he claimed that Google had been torturing him for years, and no, it was not Brian.   Flight For Sight has announced their Inaugural winners, and Brian is one of them. We discuss his upcoming travels that will be kicking off July 1st.   VoiceDtream Scanner has a new name, whoops.   We are thrilled to announce the Inaugural Laugh For Sight Long Island. If you are in the Long Island area, join us on Monday, August 7th at Mulcahy's in Wantaugh. Join Legendary Comedian Robert Klein, Aaron Berg, Ophira Eisenberg, Brian Fischler with his guide dog Wesley, and Host Brian McCarthy. More to be announced soon. For tickets. This evening will benefit the U.S. Blind Baseball Association and Third Eye Insight.   According to 9to5 Mac third party apps will not be allowed access to the Apple Vision Pro cameras.    The Vision Pro will turn any surface in to a display with touch controls. We then read an email about how the Apple Vision Pro could be revolutionary for those with low vision.   In Mac OS Sonoma and iOS 17, Apple will be giving all Apple ID's a Passkey. Apple News in iOS 17 will be getting crossword puzzles. iOS 17 will allow you to send any audio to the HomePod using Siri. Scanning QR codes will get easier in iOS 17.   The EU could force all phones to have removable batteries.   The FTC is suing Amazon over deceptive Prime sign up and cancelation policies. Amazon Prime Day has been announced for July 11th.   Logitech suffers stock hit and sarcastic Amazon reviews over sub disaster controller.   We then dive in to Brian's initial experiences planning his travel for his upcoming Flight For Sight trips, and what a disaster all the new guide dog regulations have created.   And you will not want to miss the very very special message we got, and it's more of Watcha Streaming, Watcha Reading.   To contact That Real Blind Tech Show, you can email us at ThatRealBlindTechShow@gmail.com, join our Facebook Group That Real Blind Tech Show, join us on the Twitter @BlindTechShow , or leave us an old school phone message at 929-367-1005, and make sure to visit our website where you can listen to any of our past episodes.

Every day we are inundated with reports about COVID-19: statistics, new cases, and worse. Every day we hear of how the coronavirus has impacted people all over the world, but have we heard specific reports of its effect on blind and visually impaired individuals?  Thus far we have spanned the globe  with  blind citizens Around the world, from Australia and Malaysia, to the united kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada.  In this seventh episode in our series, Around the World with COVID-19 from a Blindness Perspective, we hear from Brian Fischler. Brian comes to us from New York, the City that never sleeps. but we may have witnessed an exception to that age-old moniker as New York has been through an ordeal that almost brought the Big Apple to its knees… into a deep sleep! But as in the past, the big city seems to have bounced back and is rallying in recent weeks. Brian shares his unique perspective on Corona and its effect on New Yorkers, their adherence to social distancing rules and how all of this affects blind people and himself personally. Brian  walks us through the initial onset of Corona and how New York felt they might avert the full impact, but like elsewhere, it caught up to them. He shares how he had lived in NYC during 911 and this is  worse, saying that Corona has passed it for the "most terrifying thing in his lifetime.”  Brian speaks of his personal friendships with staff and owners of five bars and restaurants within a few blocks of his apartment, and how reopening would help them survive. Listen as Brian gives us an update on this, finally venturing out  and having a couple of drinks inside a nearby bar when it briefly reopened. As a further update, as of the date of this podcast, July 6, 2020, New York has subsequently closed inside dining in order to stave off an increase in infections. Brian has become a full-blown germophobe and has never washed his hands as much as recently. He wears his mask and obeys all the needed precautions, but explains how as a blind person, it is  impossible to know if others are following those sane precautions and to ensure he is walking any kind of safe distance from others in the big city. Hearing someone Coughing just freaks him out!  Finally, Brian shows his optimism hoping that when all is said and done, ,people will be nicer as a result. Be sure to tune in to more informative episodes to hear how your BVI counterparts around the world are coping with and adapting to cOVID-19. special thanks go out to Chee Chau, for his beautiful song and titled wayfarer. Show Summary: In this That Blind Tech Show Extra, Brian Fischler joins Jeff Thompson in the Blind Abilities studio and unveils the new Bose Frames. The Frames are a True wireless headset built into sunglasses. The sound comes from the sunglass legs and do not obstruct your ambient sounds. This may be just the ticket for listening to GPS or information while you are navigating the outdoors. With complete control available with one button on the right side, you can pair, play, invoke Siri and much more, although the volume is controlled by your Bluetooth connected phone. Brian uses the Bose Frames throughout the entire podcast while connected to the Zoom meeting I set up from Blind Abilities Headquarters. Other than the digital effect from Zoom, the Bose Frames sounded really clear and I was impressed. At $199, the Bose Frames seem like a decent option for navigating and listening to information and with the upcoming AI feature from Bose, this form factor just may be a giant step into the future. Imagine looking at a building and having Blind Square tell you what business or location is there. Interesting times and this wearable seems to be just the right fit for the BVI community. Well, with 2 Frame options, Alto (large) and Rondo (small), there is something for everyone. Contact: Thank you for listening! From D-Day arriving on Twitterific and other 3rdparty Twitter apps but it appears the fall out is nowhere near the horrific dooms day scare put upon the Tweeters out there. Almost reminded some of us of the 2000K hysteria. Brian aims to wear women’s pants in the near future and that is not even his dark side confession he makes on this episode 21 of That Blind Tech Show, (TBTS).
