GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Ivaylo Yordanov is a Bulgarian Parliamentary Candidate. GUEST 2 OVERVIEW: Ben Jones is the Director of Case Operations & Outreach, The Free Speech Union. GUEST 3 OVERVIEW: Freedom Alliance developed out of the protest movement in 2020. A small group of activists recognised the need to use the political system to provide real opposition to the state's Covid narrative. We set up a registered political party and to date have stood 100s of candidates for election across Britain. Initially, we campaigned against lockdowns and the vaccine mandate. Then we connected with other policies and strategies of resistance to global technocracy.
GUEST 1 OVERVIEW: Ash, also known as "Dutty Monkey," is just a regular guy who stood up during the CONvid online and offline. Describing himself as a conscious realist, he is actively engaged in raising awareness and advocating for his beliefs. GUEST 2 OVERVIEW: Cath says “As a mother, witnessing our government's Covid-19 pandemic strategy roll out before my eyes like a bad dream descending into a nightmare, the future for my children's freedoms, rights and prospects looked bleaker and bleaker. I felt alone, segregated, discriminated against, through no fault of my own. The one thing I wasn't was afraid. After months of shouting at the news on the telly, arguing with the newspaper and switching the radio off every time I heard a new nonsensical strategy, I decided to find people to connect with. I turned to social media in desperation. A stranger in the park turned into two strangers in the park. And A Stand in the Park Birkenhead was born. The more I connected, the more activism I became involved in, the stronger and more assured I felt that we would come through this. From AVP, to Outreach Worldwide, to the Together Declaration, locally based groups and more, I've met and learnt from so many people who are so committed to the cause but utilise different strategies.”

Alun R facilitates the 1st of 4 sessions of Coeur de l'Epee (a setting stretch goal by Catherine Evans for the PbtA game Hearts of Wulin by Lowell Francis) ... We meet Simone Leblanc, who is entangled with none other than the Queen of France; Remy Wolfe, a loyal Captain in the Garde de Mer; Alouette deGourdan, popular Friend of the Royal Opera with motives yet to be made clear; and Brother Seraphin, a Jesuit fresh from the seminary who stares wide eyed into the net of machinations and manipulation that is the Court of King Louis. There's a mission for Simone (or is it Sebastian), a demonstration of skill for the Musketeers, the expectation of an invitation confirmed, and a personal confessor along for the ride. Then ... Versailles illuminated at the Winter Solstice, a meeting with Monsieur Athos, arrival via the Deer Park, and the suspicions of a Cardinal laid bare ...
This summer at the Newark Museum of Art, two exhibitions have highlighted intimate photographs of jazz musicians of the 20th century. The first, Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill: Photographs by Jerry Dantzic, displays the photographs Dantzic took of Holiday during her week-long residency at the Sugar Hill nightclub in Newark in 1957. The second exhibition is titled, Jazz Greats: Classic Photographs from the Bank of America Collection, which highlights photographs of jazz greats like Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald and others sitting in on jam sessions, recording in the studio, and living in their private life. Millicent Matthews, manager of travelling exhibitions, and Catherine Evans, deputy director of collections and curatorial strategies at the Newark Museum of Art, join to discuss the importance of these photographs and what else you can expect to see. Both exhibitions are on display until August 21.

COVID-19 has thrown debates over expertise and authority into sharp relief. Politicians in Canada and elsewhere now look to science, and scientists, to guide us. As they do, they often hail science as apolitical, pledging to proceed only as, and when, public health authorities recommend. But is science ever ‘objective’? If it isn’t, should we care? Here, Professor Evans offers some thoughts on the history of expertise, objectivity, and authority, and how a historical perspective can help us to approach ethical decision-making in turbulent times.
Catherine Evans is a Berlin-based Australian artist who works across photography, sculpture and installation. Her work focuses on geologic time and where this intersects with our own human timescales: as found in our bodies, their materiality and our lived-histories through colonialism and archaeology. Initially trained in science, and then photography, her work is characterised by a material intimacy that subverts the utility of everyday materials such as rocks, carpet and sticky tape to give unexpected shifts in our perception of light, weight and balance. After completing her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, Melbourne, she was recipient of a VCA Graduate Mentorship (2013) and Georges Mora Fellowship (2017). She has exhibited widely, most recently her work "Standing Stone" won first prize in the 2020 Neuköllner Kunstpreis, Berlin.Interview with Catherine Evans recorded by Michael Dooney on 15. The world is changing quickly, and the scaling and adoption of technology means that it plays an even more significant role in our lives. With more interactions taking place online and people's data being shared or stored in many ways, the risk of cybercrime continues to grow. From every interaction, be that buying an online product or service or reading emails, a threat of cybercrime exists. Today I share how cybersecurity affects you. I highlight how technology plays a part in almost everyone's lives on a moment-by-moment basis and reveal how the risk of cybercrime is growing, from privacy breaches to fraud or intellectual property theft. I share how people and organizations are prone to phishing, having their email hacked, having fraudulent charges applied to credit cards, or being attacked by ransomware. I also share how businesses that were once ‘brick and mortar’ now exist as a virtual presence, increasing the chances of their - or their customer's - data being compromised. “Technology and its constant evolution impact our lives on a daily basis.” - Colleen O'Connell Campbell Today on I’m A Millionaire...So, Now What: How technology touches all parts of our lives. The increasing risks of cybercrime. The different types of cybercrime. How businesses are moving from a physical presence to a virtual presence and how it impacts their cybersecurity. Small multifamily properties are an important part of the affordable rental market. They are often owned by individuals or smaller entities and are operated differently than the larger multifamily properties that many of us think of when we hear the words “multifamily” or “apartment.” In this episode, Steve and Corey talk with Meg McElgunn, co-head of SBL Production and Catherine Evans, vice president of SBL Underwriting, and take an in-depth look at some of its unique characteristics through the lens of the Freddie Mac Multifamily Small Balance Loan program.

Cybercrime is on the rise. In the world of the Internet of Things (IoT), we are present online in volumes like never before. You may have already been subjected to an online crime or know someone that has suffered an attack from a cybercriminal. Online subscriptions can put your credit card details at risk and having an account with an online business can put your personal details and passwords in jeopardy. Every app and email address that you use can potentially be a vulnerability. So what lessons can we learn from those who have fallen victim to cybercriminals? How can we protect ourselves, our assets, and our businesses from falling prey to online hackers? Today, I share six things I have learned - and what you need to know - about cybersecurity. I highlight how everyone is exposed to the attacks of cyber criminals, personally and professionally. I reveal how greater interconnectivity has given cybercriminals more opportunities and how it has impacted the increasing cost of security and crime. I also share strategies you can use to protect yourself from cybercrime, such as strengthening passwords and adding extra layers of protection. “The cost of crime and security is increasing. There are more opportunities and more vulnerabilities to be taken advantage of, so there is an increase in the cost - and the repercussions.” - Colleen O’Connell-Campbell Today on I’m A Millionaire...So, Now What?: Recognizing a cyber breach. How greater interconnectivity gives cybercriminals greater opportunities to take advantage of our vulnerabilities. Why the cost of crime and security is increasing. How anyone and everyone is a target, no matter how big or small your company is. Why you should increase the strength of your passwords. Why it is vital to have more than one layer of protection for your digital assets. Why we are our greatest asset and our greatest weakness.
