//The Wire//2100Z August 22, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: "FLAGGING" OPERATIONS CONTINUE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AS DISSENT GROWS REGARDING MIGRATION EFFORTS. JOHN BOLTON'S RESIDENCE RAIDED BY FBI.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-United Kingdom: Opposition to migrant centers continues, mostly in the form of "flagging" operations around England. For the English, a common point of resistance has been the public display of the English flag, which in some context has been classified as a criminal act. As such, the emplacement of the St. George's Cross flag has become a focus point for British society over the past few days.-HomeFront-Colorado: The investigation into the stabbing of a park ranger at Staunton State Park has concluded with the arrest of the park ranger who initially made the allegations. Callum Heskett was arrested for making false claims regarding the attack, which turned out to be an elaborate hoax.Analyst Comment: It's not clear why he did it, but the Sheriff stated that Heskett intentionally stabbed himself and radioed in the "attack", which triggered a very widespread manhunt and lockdown of the surrounding area.Nebraska: Approximately two weeks since the raids first took place, two of the four hotels complicit in the Chaudhari child slavery scandal from have been shut down. The AmericInn and the Victorian Inn and Suites in Omaha were observed to be shuttered to the public yesterday afternoon, pending the human trafficking network investigations.Analyst Comment: The other two hotels, the Inn (formerly the Super 8) and the Roadway Inn are reported by local media to still be open for business, for the time being. Somewhat interestingly, the local media coverage of these closures has focused on the displacement of long-term residents of these hotels, many of which were formerly homeless. In an interview with local media, one hotel resident stated that these hotels were used as residences by people who couldn't rent due to poor credit, rental history, and so on. If these hotels were quietly serving as a sort of informal halfway house for long term residents, this human trafficking network could be much larger and more substantial than previously known.New York: This afternoon a tourbus suffered a rollover accident on Interstate 90 near Pembroke. The initial response was treated as a mass casualty event due to 52x patients being reported at the scene. Many fatalities and entrapments were also reported as a result of the crash.Maryland: This morning the home of John Bolton was raided by the FBI as part of an ongoing national security probe. The raid lasted several hours, and many boxes of documents were observed being removed from the residence.Analyst Comment: Beyond the headline, not much is known. Most journalistic speculation has theorized that the DoJ is trying to get him on mishandling of classified information, which is an easy charge to levy against most political elites who very rarely handle classified information properly.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, a bit of context for the "flagging" operations is important. Unlike in the United States (where the national flag is a common sight) throughout Europe in general national flags are not a typical observation throughout society. The one exception being...foreign flags. In many parts of the United Kingdom, the sight of Indian and Pakistani flags is vastly more common than the Union Jack, with foreign flags even being flown from government buildings.Even more important is that the official flag of the United Kingdom (but especially the flag of England, the St. George's Cross) has been demonized to the point of quite literally being illegal to display in some cases. Many people have been arrested for displaying the Union Jack at Hindu or Islamic street parades or events, a
//The Wire//2300Z August 13, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: ARRESTS MADE REGARDING LONG-TERM HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SLAVERY NETWORK IN NEBRASKA. CANADIAN WILDFIRES THREATEN ST. JOHNS IN NEWFOUNDLAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Canada: As wildfires continue to burn throughout the nation, more populated areas have begun to be placed on evacuation notice. Parts of the town of Paradise in Newfoundland were ordered to be evacuated yesterday, and the outskirts of St. Johns has been ordered to prepare for an evacuation if the Paddy's Pond Fire continues to threaten Highway 1, one of the main egress routes that would be taken if a larger scale evacuation were to be ordered at some point.Analyst Comment: The circumstances of this fire are suspicious, and local authorities are seeking information from anyone who may have details regarding a vehicle which was spotted near the origin of the fire, right before it broke out.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Diplomatic activities continue as President Trump's face-to-face meeting with President Putin draws near. Both leaders are scheduled to meet at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska on Friday. Analyst Comment: Though the White House specifically states that this is not a negotiation meeting with regards to the Ukraine War, the general consensus is that the war will be the main topic of discussion.Tennessee: Severe storms swept through the state overnight, resulting in the deaths of three people in Chattanooga. 6.5 inches of precipitation fell in just a few hours, causing flash floods which stopped traffic on I-24 and resulted in 6x people being rescued by swiftwater teams overnight. One person remains missing due to the flooding, and search and rescue operations continue.Nebraska: Yesterday the DoJ released details on a human trafficking network that was allegedly broken up in Omaha. 5x individuals were arrested for enslaving children to work at four different hotels, in addition to prostitution and drug trafficking. Money laundering, visa fraud, and drivers license fraud were all of the other crimes listed on the notice provided by the DoJ regarding these arrests.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comment: Most of the human traffickers arrested in Omaha were members of the Chaudhari family (a prominent immigrant family from India) which is well known for owning most of the cheap hotels in and around Omaha. It would be exceptionally foolish to conclude that this trafficking network has been shut down...these raids have only scratched the surface regarding this criminal enterprise. This is also not the first time this family has been directly implicated in human trafficking. Vishnubhai Chaudhari and Leelabahen Chaudhari (both illegal immigrants) were arrested in 2017 for the exact same human trafficking behavior in nearly the same manner in the exact same place, trafficking children to serve as slave labor for local hotels. In 2018, these people were convicted and sentenced to only a single year in prison....for enslaving children, and beating and abusing them regularly over a period of years. Now, the family tradition has continued with the arrest of 5x other direct family members. As such, whenever this new case involving this same family goes to trial in a year or so (and thus the media no longer cares about this), it is astronomically likely that everyone involved will get a slap on the wrist and continue these horrific actions once again.Of note, all of the hotels that were raided are still up on Tripadvisor and other travel websites, available for bookings. Similarly, the Super 8 motel where child slaves were rescued from in 2018 is still open for business and sports a rating of 3.7 stars. No protest activity or public outrage has been observed at these facilities so far.Analyst: S2A1Research: https://publish.obsidian.m

In this episode, Drs. Amy Park and Mark Hoffman welcome Dr. Angela Chaudhari, Chief of Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, to share her experience promoting a culture of physician wellness as the Director of the P2P Network for Physician Peer Support. --- SHOW NOTES Dr. Chaudhari discusses how her inspiration to advocate for physician wellness began when she herself was experiencing feelings of burnout. Initially an open ear for colleagues on an individual level, Dr. Chaudhari was later trained on the topic of wellness through the Scholars of Wellness Program and received her Organization Leadership and Coaching Certificate at Northwestern University. Dr. Chaudhari then explains that, through the program, volunteers from both medical and non-medical backgrounds are trained to provide support for those experiencing adverse events, “compassion fatigue,” and discriminatory patient experiences. In addition, peers are also available to provide feedback or education. Specific metrics for the program include retention, wellbeing scores, and culture surveys to identify “pain points'' within the Institution. Next, the doctors discuss the topic of “work-life integration,” rather than work-life balance, and how to promote this in your own practice. While acknowledging that it may be difficult to advocate for yourself and set boundaries early on in your career, the group emphasizes the role of mentorship and how this can empower trainees/learners to take action sooner rather than later. The episode ends with a discussion on creating culture in your workplace. The doctors express sentiments that maintaining an intentional, positive outlook and treating all colleagues with respect is a key aspect in promoting wellness. In addition, they encourage listeners to acknowledge difficult situations and to share personal experiences to further promote an environment of support and growth. --- RESOURCES Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC) Process: https://asq.org/quality-resources/dmaic Stolarski A, Moseley JM, O'Neal P, Whang E, Kristo G. DIG Meera Chaudhari is Nepal Police's person in charge of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Division. Fast and unplanned growth of Kathmandu valley has put a great deal of pressure on the flow of traffic in the valley. The traffic problem is compounded by increasing number of road accidents, poor quality of roads, unsafe conditions of vehicles, and lack of proper driver's education. These factors are really testing traffic police's ability enforce and manage traffic on a day to day basis. We discuss these issues as well as other factors that are making Kathmandu an unsafe place to drive or commute using public vehicles.

Abstract: Occams razor is the principle that, all else being equal, simpler explanations should be preferred over more complex ones1. This principle is thought to play a role in human perception and decision-making2, but the nature of our presumed preference for simplicity is not understood. Here we use preregistered behavioral experiments informed by formal theories of statistical model selection3 to show that, when faced with uncertain evidence, human subjects exhibit preferences for particular, theoretically grounded forms of simplicity of the alternative explanations. These forms of simplicity can be understood in terms of geometrical features of statistical models treated as manifolds in the space of the probability distributions, in particular their dimensionality, boundaries, volume, and curvature. The simplicity preferences driven by these features, which are also exhibited by artificial neural networks trained to optimize performance on comparable tasks, generally improve decision accuracy, because they minimize over-sensitivity to noisy observations (i.e., overfitting). However, unlike for artificial networks, for human subjects these preferences persist even when they are maladaptive with respect to the task training and instructions. Thus, these preferences are not simply transient optimizations for particular task conditions but rather a more general feature of human decision-making. Taken together, our results imply that principled notions of statistical model complexity have direct, quantitative relevance to human and machine decision-making and establish a new understanding of the computational foundations, and behavioral benefits, of our predilection for inferring simplicity in the latent properties of our complex world. Abstract: Attention deficit is one of the most prominent and disabling symptoms in Fragile X Syndrome (FXS). Hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli contributes to attention difficulties by overwhelming and/or distracting affected individuals, which disrupts activities of daily living at home and learning at school. We find that auditory or visual distractors selectively impair visual discrimination performance in both humans and mice with FXS, but not their typically developing controls. Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) neurons were significantly modulated by incorrect responses in the post-stimulus period during early distractor trials in WT mice, consistent with their known role as error signals. Strikingly, however, VIP cells from Fmr1-/- mice showed little modulation in error trials, and this correlated with their poor performance on the distractor task. Thus, VIP interneurons and their reduced modulatory influence on pyramidal cells, could be a potential therapeutic target for attentional difficulties in FXS. Copy rights belong to original authors. Abstract: Sensory systems appear to learn to transform incoming sensory information into perceptual representations that can inform and guide behavior, or objects, with minimal explicit supervision. Here, we propose that the auditory system can achieve this goal by using time as a supervisor, i.e., by learning features of a stimulus that are temporally regular. We will show that this procedure generates a feature space sufficient to support fundamental computations of auditory perception. In detail, we consider the problem of discriminating between instances of a prototypical class of natural auditory objects, i.e., rhesus macaque vocalizations. We test discrimination in two ethologically relevant tasks: discrimination in a cluttered acoustic background, and generalization to discriminate between novel exemplars. We show that an algorithm that learns these temporally regular features affords better or equivalent discrimination and generalization than a conventional feature-selection algorithm, i.e., principal component analysis. Our findings suggest that the slow temporal features of auditory stimuli may be sufficient for parsing auditory scenes, and that the auditory brain should utilize these slowly changing temporal features. "I am a bubble of Super-most consciousness. That is what my realization is. This is what I have gained. Now what I feel is that there is One, Infinite, Super-most Element. From IT, when it moves, Sound and Light come out and from that Light and Sound this creation takes place. Cosmic rays and many other types of rays come out of this Light and Sound and all this gross matter is made. So it is the Will of that Supreme Power. Everything is oozing out of IT and is merging back in IT." (Baba Faqir Chand) Below is the Message of J.L. Chaudhari of the Radhasoami Faith (in the spiritual lineage of Baba Faqir Chand and Yogani Mataji) "The real message of man's life is 'Be Man'. The question is how to follow this principle and what should we do to adopt this principle and formula for finding a way to God which is nothing but salvation. "The only way is to surrender oneself in the Lotus feet of Spiritual Master. After this surrender the disciple and Master become one because a true surrender makes a man free from the bondage of senses, dilution, affection, etc, etc. So far we are under the control of worldly desires the surrender is not possible. So the first step is to be free from worldly desires. But that does not mean that the needs for worldly living should not be fulfilled. In fact needs should be fulfilled and not the desires. If we have taken birth as a human being some food (energy) is necessary for the body to work, but it is not necessary that we always aspire for multi-course meals. It is necessary to put on some cloths to cover the body but not necessary that silk linen is put on. It is necessary that there is a shelter for living but not necessary that a marble fitted house is with us. "As a human being we have to survive in this world without caring for ourselves much, without looking to the ills of others, rather looking towards ills of ourselves, purifying ourselves first, and then do something for the purification of others. This is the living of a 'lotus' in a pond and that is why the Goddess Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, wisdom and intellect, sits on the Lotus. The Lotus flower blossoms in muddy pond, but anyone looking at the flower exclaims, 'Wow! How beautiful the flower is!' The whole world is a muddy pond and we have to survive in the midst of mud like a lotus flower which does not care for mud, but it blossoms for the pleasure and happiness of others. Every morning with the sunrise, the lotus blossoms. This is what we should also follow. The divine power and light emanated by the Spiritual Master makes us to blossom like the lotus flower provided we have full trust and faith in our spiritual Master. "Sant Mat does not look at the race, the cast, the sect or any other identification for a person. Rather, it looks into the true sense of service, sacrifice, surrender, devotion, determination, trust, belief of person towards the Master and those who have these characteristics they may be belonging to any cast, race, country, direction or of any identification can join this Yoga, but for that a true spiritual Master is a must. I don't know whether you have adopted some spiritual Master or your are under the shelter of someone as a spiritual Master. If so, please do surrender yourself to him or her for all what you desire to attain and achieve. "The spiritual Master is not the body rather it is the Divine Light, the Divine Sound, and your own Wisdom, your own Conscious, and your own Perception which is Selfless and without any expectation from any one on this earth. Dealing with burnout? I would suspect most physicians have felt this at one time right now. There are so many causes that can lead to this feeling of emotional exhaustion, compassion, fatigue, decreased job satisfaction, or even depression. I think it's important that we talk about this openly. And honestly, as physicians have the highest suicide rate of any group in the United States, we will talk with three physicians who found themselves in this situation. Each of them found a different solution to help find balance in their lives. Join us as we discuss ways that have helped them deal with physician burnout.

On Episode 13 I sit down with Raj Chaudhari the creator of the Synapse CCR, a custom calibrated pulley system that allows for individuals to perform eccentric overloads in positions and in methods that would have been previously impossible or dangerous. He spent many years involved with the tennis community, so naturally we do cover some considerations when preparing tennis and overhead athletes. We discuss the needs of the sport, lateral movement, rotational abilities, Running and weight training for the sport. We cover the benefits of eccentric training and also talk about some of the areas that have given individuals pause in implementing it in training. We discuss the neural, physiological, and hormonal benefits of eccentrics as well as their ability to be build resilient structures. We shift our focus to talk about the synapse CCR and how it allows for Safe eccentric overloads in extremely specific joint angles. We discuss how it can be implemented in a rehab setting and I really like the idea of being able to lessen and self adjust tension as needed to facilitate work in compromised areas. We discuss the differing methods that it can be employed, for instance with overcoming isometrics and how you could utilize that to potentiate other desired movements. I was really interested when I first discovered the synapse and after hearing all of its possible benefits I am even more interested. This is a really inventive, safe, and time efficient way to provide substantial overload in just about any joint alignment you desire. Make sure to check out the Synapse CCR webpage to see some examples of its usage and check out the system as well. They provide a lot of great examples of how to utilize the machine and also rationale for eccentric overload on their Instagram account Synapse_CCR
