His works for the company include Higher Ground, New Bach, Return, Nyman String Quartet No. 2, and The Cookout among others, many are in his signature postmodern-urban-neo-classical style.  In addition to choreographing several ballets for DTH, Mr. Garland has also created works for New York City Ballet, Britain's Royal Ballet, Oakland Ballet and many others.  His commercial work has included music videos, commercials and short films, including the children's television show “Sesame Street”, a Nike commercial featuring New York Yankee Derek Jeter, the NAACP Image Awards, a short film for designer Donna Karan, and the “Charmin Cha-Cha” for Proctor and Gamble. Welcome to Episode 121 of Shea Butter FC, a podcast by, for and about Black women in soccer.  In this very special Shea Butter episode, Sylvs interviews Brianna Pinto of the North Carolina Courage about the inaugural All State Next Wave 2025 National Showcase.  The Black Women's Players Collective, of which Pinto is a board member, in collaboration with Blackstar are hosting the All State Next Wave 2025 National Showcase as a girl's talent ID event that is solely focused on 20-30 high school aged Black girls. Black girls are a demographic who are a historic, double underrepresented group in the beautiful game. In this episode, Brianna walks us through what is being offered for these talented young players on and off the pitch during the showcase, and she discusses the barriers that exist for young Black players and the ways we can help eliminate them. Watkins Glen road course weekend has come and gone for all three NASCAR series. We talk about the Truck Series action from the weekend and some of the driver changes in the Truck Series at this point in the season. The Xfinity race from The Glen was a wild one with a giant wreck with less than ten to go. Zilisch gets the win and breaks a collar bone in the celebration. SVG once again dominated and got his fourth win of the season and fourth win in a row on road courses. We look ahead to the Cookout 400 and make some picks for the Saturday night race from Virginia.
