This week takes us to the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, as we do a little road trip to Saugatuck and South Haven.  We'll take you out on the water, do some shopping, talk to three blondes who brew, and meet up with some fine friends who are cooking up greatness at their very own restaurant finally. We'll even tell you about the most fantastic saltine crackers we've ever had. Intrigued? Here's more:We'll start off at a cute little spot nestled downtown Saugatuck on the shores of the Kalamazoo River.  Retro Boat Rentals offers up the sweetest little boats that you can take out, on your own, to cruise around and see Saugatuck from the water. Brightly colored 50's-style little cruisers will make you feel like a vintage movie star, while the donut boats can be packed with friends to bob along with. There are pontoons too, and all the boats have been retrofitted and are electric, so you'll hum along in silence, able to absorb all the sites and sounds of Saugatuck. Grab a beer or a cocktail afterward on their sunny deck to prolong your enjoyment. Next, our friends from LuLu Cadiuex come by and share that they are expanding into a new space in downtown Saugatuck. While their cooking school remains on Blue Star Highway, they'll be moving their store downtown. This is the place to find all sorts of fun things for your home, from table linens to dishes and cookware, to a stacked array of cookbooks. Amy is a big fan of snooping around here and seeing what she might find, from cool clothes to great gifts. Just a few minutes farther down the shore lies South Haven, another beachside gem. During the busy summer time it can be hard to find parking downtown, so we head outside of this bustling area and go straight to Three Blondes Brewing. Located very close to the highway exit, this fun spot is easy to get, and always has a cold beer waiting for you. We talk with Amanda Johnson, one of the three blondes brewing. Finally, we reconnect with some friends who have been making their dreams come true and we couldn't be prouder. Meredith Sherrod owns The Lodge, an absolute banger of a restaurant, bar, and hang-out located just a bit outside of downtown SH. She and her business partner Erica Degrandchamp worked together for years at Captain Lou's, and finally made their dream of owning their very own restaurant a reality when they purchased local spot The Curve. A few years later, this remodeled space features an incredible menu, from their scratch kitchen, all run by these two best friends. Now about those crackers.....find them at The Lodge. Have them with pimento cheese dip. Thank us later.Follow John and Amy:Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/behindthemittenTwitter at @BehindTheMittenInstagram at @BehindTheMitten

In this episode, Karen is joined by Amanda Johnson, a mama of 4 beautiful babies. Despite all odds and one baby even being breeched up until delivery, Amanda had a successful home birth with her twins for her most recent pregnancy. Today we'll get into all the nitty gritty of Amanda's experience with hospital versus home births, how her pregnancies varied, and how her most recent pregnancy was a massive surprise up until the very last minute of delivery! After Amanda's first labor and delivery experience that was less than ideal in the hospital, she knew she didn't want to experience that again. With her second child, she successfully gave birth at home and knew she would repeat the experience when she fell pregnant the third time… little did she know, this home birth experience would be quite rare and one to remember! EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS: Amanda found out she was having twins at 32 weeks and decided to have a home birth, despite concerns from family and the traditional health system Going into labor at 40 weeks 3 days with an intense but smooth 2-hour labor, delivering both twins vaginally at home Her faith and trust in God's plan helped her through the physical and financial challenges of a twin pregnancy and homebirth A home birth with twins is possible with the right support team MORE ABOUT AMANDA JOHNSON: I'm a SAHM to 4 babes ages five and under. We are a military fam currently stationed in Monterey CA! My first birth was an induction and after that whole experience, I knew it could be better. My induction was not traumatic as I truly believe I was on the brink of labor (11 days past my guess date) but the whole process from start to end felt very unnatural. When I got pregnant with my 2nd I knew I was going to have a homebirth, this was October of 2019. Luckily my midwife (Lindsey Meehleis) and I were totally aligned and she shut her office down for maybe a month during Covid. It was crazy, my husband was overseas and I thought I was going to have to deliver without him. I had my 2nd at home at the height of Covid in June 2020 and had a totally different experience than my hospital birth in the best way. When I got pregnant in 2021, I of course opted for home birth again. I didn't find out until 32 weeks that I was having twins and I truly wasn't surprised - the pregnancy felt totally different! I carried them to 40w3d and had a beautiful labor and delivery under 2 hours!!! For most of her life, Amanda Johnson excelled at being “the good girl.”    She was a stellar student who knew how to play by the rules, whether that was in school, at church, or with friends or family.    She implicitly understood what was acceptable, and what wasn't, so she followed the prescription for a successful life: Go to college, major in something respectable and useful, get a good job, get married, have 2 children, get an MBA, move up the career ladder.   Until one day, almost like coming out of a coma, she said she “woke up in the middle of a life.” She'd built an entire life, and wasn't sure how she'd done it, or whether she'd truly chosen any of it consciously.   And then the real work began.   Listen in as Amanda and Rachel get into…   What it means to be living a “good girl” kind of life, and what happened when Amanda decided to be “bad,” instead How she started to access her true feelings and opinions again, after a live lived mostly on autopilot Amanda's 180-degree career pivot, and how she exited the corporate world The incredible gifts she quickly developed once she was free to be herself, and how she's using them to help herself and others   Come leave a comment after you've listened to share how Amanda's journey resonated with you!   MORE ABOUT AMANDA   Amanda Johnson is your typical high-energy, over-achieving, perfectionist, people pleaser type who, by all accounts, looked great on paper, but wasn't feeling a whole lot of anything for a long time. After years of building a successful career in the marketing world, Amanda had a wake up call in the form of a full blown spiritual awakening and started questioning pretty much every facet of her life. After coaching with Rachel, and working for the past several years toward calling in more authenticity and alignment, Amanda's gifts came online in a big way.    Recently, Amanda made some serious changes to her life, including pivoting away from her corporate life to launch Heartspark, an intuitively based energy work and life purpose coaching business. Amanda is trained in reiki, completed iPEC's coach training program and loves questioning the mysteries of the universe. When Amanda isn't working with clients or chasing her two little boys around, she loves to spend hours talking to her friends and family about signs, dreams and hopeless romantic things, traveling to far off places, reading 1,000 books all at the same time and dipping her toes in the ocean as much as possible (preferably in San Diego!) She's all about living her life with an open heart, and hopes she can inspire you to do the same.    You can find her at heartsparksoul.com and @heartsparksoul on Instagram.   And just for Clarity on Fire listeners, Amanda is offering the first 10 people who book a classic Heartspark Session 20% off (through the end of June, or until all spots are taken, whichever comes first) with code KRACHEL.   LINKS   Leave us a comment on this episode   Take the Passion Profile Quiz   Submit your question for a future episode of Dear Krachel    Check out our YouTube channel

Welcome to episode 2 of season 3 of the WitchHunt Podcast! This is a soul-touching episode that I'm calling Ushering in the New Earth: An illuminating chat with New Earth Angel and Architect, and Priestess of Embodied Pleasure, Sara Yamtich In this episode, Sara shares her fascinating story of remembering her way back into priestesshood, including many of the breadcrumbs she now knows led her exactly to where she needs to be. She shares her story of being raised in Southern-Baptist town in Missouri and how, without having the words to describe what she was doing at the time, she not only questioned the patriarchy but began to honor the feminine, exploring the spiritual and subconscious realms at a young age. Sara also tells us about her sacred and ceremonial relationship with plant medicine, and shares one of the most beautiful and inspiring morning wake-your-feminine-divine-up rituals which I know I want to integrate into our life. Sara's become a dear Sister to me, and since this recording I've witnessed her leave Costa Rica to pursue the sacred arts of Priestesshood — first in Hawaii, and by the time this is released, she'll have gone back to Chavin de Juantar in Peru. Sara's also partnered up with two other magical souls, Clint Brown and Amanda Johnson, to create Awaken Village — a community of visionaries, entrepreneurs and change-makers — who are ready to come into community with fellow paradigm shifters. You can learn more about Awaken Village at join.awakenvillage.com. Sara's energy is contagious and you're going to love getting to know her in this episode. Enjoy! x Alex P.S. Sara's soulpreneurial path is inspiring! She shows us that mothers can have a full, beautiful, dynamic, and fulfilling life without giving up being present for our children. If you're a sensitive mum and soul-led business owner struggling somewhere around $1000/ month and are ready to make $2.5k/ month in your soul-led business, using a simple and scalable method — all without sacrificing being present for your children, let's hop on a call and map out how my new 4-month business incubator, Sacred & Simple, could work for you. Here's your scheduling link: https://calendly.com/sacredliving/soulpreneurincubator More about Sara: Sara Yamtich is the founder and Awaken Village (see above) and CEO of Conscious Conversion (formerly Resonate with Sara), a holistic multi-media marketing agency supporting soulful thought leaders and spiritual entrepreneurs. With a Masters in Social Work, a background that spans federal policy analysis and life coaching, and a ton of digital marketing experience, Sara takes professionalism, team management, and client care to a whole new level. Her work isn't just about marketing strategy (though she rocks at that); it's about helping clients resonate deeply with their audience so they can transform the planet and give voice to the new paradigm. In fact, Sara makes marketing (and everything else she does) a damn-near spiritual experience.Sara, a single mom, lives in Costa Rica with her 7-year-old son, Indy. Amanda came to novel writing from a background as an actress where she had previously penned scripts for herself and others both for films and on the stage, but found she had to use very different muscles when it came to crafting a novel-length story loosely based on a real-life situation she and her husband experienced in New York. But during the querying process, her years of going on auditions and her experiences with the subjective nature of casting helped her keep an even keel as she researched to find a home for her contemporary women's fiction, first with agents and eventually through a small press/digital first approach.    Amanda Johnson is an award-winning actor and the author of the women's fiction novel East of Manhattan (June 2021). She is also a voiceover artist, host, and producer. She has written articles for Medium and About Amazon. As a screenwriter, her works include “Alice in Astoria” and “Babymoon” as well as the stage play “Jennie.” She is currently developing the television series “Tapestry Brewing” and is in pre-production for the proof-of-concept short film based on the series. After fifteen years on the east coast, Amanda now lives in her native Seattle with her family. Her favorite things are dark chocolate, the color lime green, playing on the beach with her son, Alice in Wonderland, and craft beer. To learn more about Amanda, click here.

The co-founder pair has since raised more than $3 million in funding, making them the 15th and 16th African-American women ever to reach a seven-figure venture-capital deal.
