Are such philanthropic endeavors truly democratic? Or even effective? Tim Schwab is an investigative journalist based in Washington, D.C. Daniel is a policy campaigner for CSOs at the Inter-Sectoral Forum on Agrobiodiversity and Agroecology. He is currently researching the digitalization of agriculture in Kenya as a Stanford University Fellow (2023-24) with the Digital Civil Society Lab & The Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS). Stephen Gloyd, MD, MPH, is a family practice physician who has been a University of Washington faculty member since 1986. Dr. Gloyd is Director of the Global Health MPH Program in the UW's Department of Global Health where he directs efforts to expand curricular options to address global workforce needs. Que hi ha algunes coses que funcionen diferent, que, per exemple, molts em comentaven que en realitat allà els convidats no paguen res, no? I que… que et donessin diners seria com una vergonya, gairebé. També hi havia gent que em deia: "S'ha de fer una segona part!" Andreu: [1:36] De fet, un dels comentaris que vam rebre és de la Pamela, que ens el va enviar per Instagram, no?, des de Mèxic, i que ens deia això: Pamela: [1:44] Hola, amics d'Easy Catalan, em dic Pamela, de Mèxic, he escoltat el seu pòdcast sobre les bodes catalanes i, de debò, són molt diferents de les bodes a Mèxic. Aquí mai demanes diners als convidats, no hi ha preu per anar-hi i els regals gairebé sempre són electrodomèstics o coses així. [Ah, veus? Molt bé.] Durant la festa sí que els nuvis poden anar a les taules i demanar per si algú vol donar diners com (a) regal, però no és obligatori i són des de 5 euros fins a 25 i ja està. No (són gaires) diners. I m'agradaria saber dues coses més de les bodes catalanes. La primera, la duració, perquè les bodes mexicanes poden durar des de 8 hores fins (a) 12 hores. Fins i tot hi ha llocs on duren més d'un dia, més d'un dia complet. I també el menjar, perquè aquí tenim el sopar, tenim (les postres), que sol ser el (pastís), el pastisset, i després, hores després, abans de l'(alba), tenim (una cosa) que es diu tornaboda, on donen més menjar, generalment picant, per la gent que (està) molt beguda. I ja està. Pot ser chilaquiles, que és tortilla frita amb… picant. Andreu: [3:16] M'encanta. No hi podia faltar l'element picant als casaments mexicans, eh? Sílvia: [3:21] Jo crec que no podem contestar les preguntes ara, perquè seria com tornar a fer una segona part. Llavors… [Seria la segona part.] Ho deixem per un altre dia. Però és tot un tema, eh?
