03/05/23 | Pastor Matt shares what it was like to witness the Holy Land as 26 people from our church recently came back from a trip to Israel. Each point in the message ties back to places that the group was able to visit, sharing not only its significance, but their personal testimonies of how God moved as well. Pastor Matt talks about how “Running Where Jesus Walked” supercharges your faith. Yet whether or not you're able to visit Israel, the Apostle Peter writes that it's possible to “share the same precious faith as we have” (2 Peter 1:1). In other words, no matter who you are, you can have a supercharged faith and experience the love, peace, purpose, presence, and joy that comes from knowing God! Whether you were able to “run where Jesus walked” or not, ALL of us have the call from God to “run where Jesus didn't walk.” Relating the experiences of people on our trip, the Holy Sites that were visited, and the words of Holy Scripture, Pastor Matt challenges us in three ways: 1) Pray like God hears you (Romans 8:11, 15) 2) Pursue unity (Galatians 5:15; Ephesians 4:2-3) 3) Point everyone to Christ (Acts 1:8)

The month of Zilhaj is a Holy Month. It is a month filled with great occasions, worship, and reflection. One of the biggest blessings is the Hajj. The annual pilgrimage to the Holy city of Makkah This is the second year where Muslims are not allowed to take blessings from the Kaaba. One could argue that it is due to the virus and to protect against it but the fundamental question is why did it happen in the first place? Why did this Amrullah appear? Few thoughts about the causes of this Amrullah: 1- We, Muslims, allowed a killer to become the custodian of the Holy Sites of Makkah and Madinah. A killer of innocent women and children in Yemen, and a killer of his opponents with the most prominent one being Jamal Kashoggi 2- We, Muslims, kept quiet when a group of minority Muslims was cornered during the 2015 Hajj and they suffocated to death in the heat which killed over 2000 pilgrims 3- We, Muslims, keep quiet while a government decides that 5K or 60K pilgrims can come for Hajj. But who gave them the authority? The dynasty of Saud was a band of bandits supported by the British who took over Hijaz almost 100 years ago. Since then they have enforced their own version of Islam, they have destroyed religious and cultural heritage, and have looted the wealth of the Muslim Ummah in the form of higher fees. But who gave them this right? These are tyrants and usurpers!! Therefore, it is time to free Hijaz. Please share other reasons why Allah's wrath has befallen upon us and why Hijaz should be independent.

In fact, the Mass of the Ascension of Our Lord can be celebrated anywhere on the Mount of Olives. Virtually walk with them through these holy sites, you will feel as if you are actually there! During our time together, our Hosts discuss the following: The environment of the Holy Sites. Scripture References to the Ascension of our Lord. Much more! By Your grace, miracles are performed in Jesus’ name. By Your love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar’s heart for Your gift of Charity within us. As a result of the pandemic, Isaac has been out of work for a while, yet he talks about how archaeology in Israel has flourished, resulting in many exciting new discoveries that bring the Bible to life: In Caesarea Philippi, a Byzantine Church has been unearthed… a staircase, frescos and an exciting inscription have been discovered at Herodium… and in Gath, home of the Philistine Giant Goliath, excavations have revealed even more of the powerful city… and Ziklag – the ancient city mentioned in the Bible – has now been discovered! Isaac talks about the weekly, solitary tours he takes around his ancestral homeland; he is shocked by the closed and empty holy places in Israel – sites that are normally flooded with tourists. But there is hope: Israel is slowly opening up its borders to travellers and there is no doubt that we will all soon be able to visit the Land of the Bible once again! In 2010 Fr Juan Solana asked her to assist him in the Magdala project initiative. Over the course of ten years she worked behind the scenes in development, promotion, marketing, and fundraising. More than an investment of time and talent, she put her heart at the service of the mission, assisting as well with the initial development and vision of the Magdalena Institute to promote the dignity of the human person. She also became an advocate for inviting local Christians to value the hometown of Mary Magdalene. In this interview Eliane shares some of her family history, the value of the holy sites for her personally, a transforming experience in Magdala, her role in the burgeoning project of Magdala, and who Mary Magdalene has become for her.

It's a short episode this week—Grant was fighting a very unpleasant cold—but that didn't stop Grant and Peter from discussing holy ground! First, reminders about The MacGuffin Factory and our upcoming casual listener Hearthstone tournament (post in the comments if you're interested, and we'll send you an invite—it starts September 28th), and some awesome news from Grant. Then we're on to our Scripture and main topic, about what makes holy sites special and how to use them in your games. Also mentioned: Our third episode ever, on crusaders and Templars; and our show on iTunes, for those of you wanting to write reviews. Scripture: Exodus 3:5, Matthew 28:1-6
