Afsnit 562 Lars Rasmussen. Lars er tidligere professionel håndboldspiller. Derfor handler dagens afsnit selvfølgelig om hans tid på landsholdet, i klubber i bl.a. Tyskland.

In 2005, a revolutionary online mapping service called Google Maps went live for the first time. It introduced searchable, scrollable, interactive maps to a wider public, but required so much computing power that Google's servers nearly collapsed under the strain. Lars Rasmussen, one of the inventors of Google Maps, talks to Ashley Byrne. The programme is a Made-in-Manchester Production. PHOTO: Google Maps being used on a mobile phone (Getty Images)
I dag begynder EM i Herrehåndbold.
Journalist: Mie Brandstrup, medvirkende: Kenneth Andersen, Lars Rasmussen, fængselsbetjent, Stina.
Hvert år modtager fængselsbetjente over 10.000 nye indsatte.
Canva co-founder Cameron Adams reveals how the Canva teams pulled out all stops in the past 12 months to fuel massive growth, leaping from serving individuals' design needs, to servicing much larger corporates' needs, and how that's paying off. While much of Canva's product is still free, Canva Pro team has launched a new tool giving paying customers access to some 60 million different photos and illustrations, up from just 5 million available previously. Cameron also reveals how translating their online offering into more than 100 languages has fed strong growth in non-English speaking markets, like Brazil and Russia. He talks about the lessons he learned at Google working on a secretive project with the legendary Lars Rasmussen, that he brought to Canva; and how his net worth is a “real opportunity” to help the world, going towards needy projects, rather than simply buying “more stuff”. The entrepreneurial journey of this home-grown emerging business leader is both humble and inspiring, and well worth a listen. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's hard to remember what it took to get around before the invention of Google Maps. But the technology has changed everything from daily routes to road trips to navigating unknown territory. Because of Google Maps, the entire globe seems reachable. But the road to inventing Google Maps? That's another story. In this episode of Teamistry, host Gabriela Cowperthwaite uncovers the tale of this indispensable technology and the team that built it. In 2001, Lars Rasmussen, Jens Rasmussen, Noel Gordon, and Stephen Ma are developing a product they believe will change the mapping landscape. But like so many great inventions before it, "Where 2 Technologies" – not yet Google Maps – is just a fledgling startup run from a small room in Sydney, and constantly one wrong turn away from a dead end. Rent checks bounce, savings accounts evaporate. The dream could be only a mirage on the distant horizon. But the team discovers a way to keep going, to find new pathways, until they reach their final destination. Hear from Google Maps co-inventors Lars Rasmussen and Noel Gordon as they take us back through the detours and U-turns of the journey, including working alongside competitors, that eventually leads to a creation that changed the world as we know it.Teamistry is an original podcast from Atlassian. CFO Ken Goldman, and funds such as Felicis Ventures and Blackbird Ventures. Today, Canva is valued at US$2.5 billion, making Canva the second Australian startup to achieve Unicorn status.
On this episode of The Extra Mile, I'm joined by my buddy Lars Rasmussen as we take a noisy run through the very cool Brooklyn Navy Yard. Lars is the co-founder and CTO of Weav Run, an app of adaptive music who's unique technology seamlessly adapts a song's tempo between 100-240 BPM's — all without lessening the quality of the song. This new music format allows artists endless possibilities in designing how a song should sound, feel, and respond to a listener's movements. It's perfect for running. Simply put, the faster you run, the faster the music plays to match your steps. It holds a library of 400 songs from artists like The Backstreet Boys, Chainsmokers, Mariah Carey, Camilla Cabello, and hundreds more. Weav also works with artists and their labels to make sure the music works at different speeds and always sounds good. The app started in the bedroom (don't worry, we keep it PG) when Lars and his wife brought in a metronome to enhance the...activities. A bit bored by the monotonous tick-tock, Lars - a software engineer by trade- decided to find the technology to speed up and slowdown music which they felt would be a more interesting alternative with the same effect. Knowing he was onto something, Lars put aside the “bedroom activity” idea and turned his focus on building something bigger. Thus, Weav was born, as was Lars' love for running. Lars wasn't a runner when he created the app. But developing a running app, he knew he needed to start. When he began to study the sport, he quickly fell in love with it as he learned it's not just your legs, it's a whole body experience. Like children who love to run around, connecting with something that comes naturally, has brought a new love into his life. Second to his wife, of course. Did I mention Lars was one of the founders of Google Maps? Yeah, you're going to want to listen to this brilliant man's story. #EveryMileMatters Get Weav The Balanced Runner
