1samuel 13 Saul gathered three thousand men . He shared his men with his son Jonathan. Meanwhile, Jonathan attacked the Philistines' outpost. This aggression made the Philistines to come on the offensive. Philistine mobilised a very huge army ' three thousand chariots ,six thousand charioteers and soldiers numerous as the sand on the seashore ' . The Israelites were scared and they began withdrawing from war . Some even ran away to other lands . Saul also was scared , he then made a sacrifice to God since he had waited for seven days and Samuel was nowhere to be found . Immediately he made the sacrifice, Samuel showed up and he rebuked Saul for the act . The Israelites at this time had no weapons, it was only King Saul and the son Jonathan that were having swords the rest of the army had sickles , axe , Mattocks. Lessons It's very crucial to enquire from the Lord and get instructions before embarking on projects and plans. Saul should have asked the Lord for directions before allowing his son to attack the Philistines . 1samuel 14 The chapter started with Jonathan, the son of Saul, who led his armour bearer to spy against the Philistine army. He did this without his father's knowledge. Now, Jonathan had a great deal of faith in the God of Israel, especially as it pertained to war. Meanwhile back at the camp, Saul and company realized Jonathan and his armour bearer were not present, and they'd heard the noise of battle with the Philistines. The Philistines were being destroyed and Saul called a fast as the battle continued. Jonathan didn't hear about the fast and ate some honey and later on, he wished Saul didn't call a fast because the mere taste of honey gave him much more energy to fight. The son of Saul believed if the entire company ate they would have destroyed the Philistines completely. Saul was going to have his son killed because of the vow, but the people said Jonathan was the very reason they were beating the Philistines. God was working through Jonathan, so Jonathan was preserved. Saul took the kingdom and fought against all his enemies and prevailed for Israel. The chapter ended with a description of Saul's family. Lessons Jonathan displayed a great trust in God . He told his armour bearer . But if they say, ‘Come up to us,' we will climb up, because that will be our sign that the Lord has given them into our hands.” We should also learn to do likewise . When faced with challenges we should allow the Lord to lead us. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, D'Metri relocated to southeast Tennessee in 2012 to attend Lee University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in both psychology and music with a vocal emphasis. His fascination with the NBA was always a big part of his life, but he didn't know it could be his job. After spending 15 years in the legal field, he made a phone call to the Mavericks that would change his life.“I spoke to the head of HR to get some information on how to work there. He explained for an hour how teams are set up and recommended corporate sponsorship,” Mattocks explained.That fateful conversation turned into a job interview and a career. He's been with the company 17 years, and a lot has changed. “The sponsorship things we did 15 years ago, we don't do at all now. Now, it's about getting that one thing you can buy—the excitement of being at a game,” Mattocks said.With the influx of technology and social media, sponsorship opportunities evolved. “The experience of the sound and feel of the game and melding that with a sponsorship brand integration generates affinity and excitement,” Mattocks noted.Everything digital is also trackable and measurable, so sponsors understand the impact. One example Mattocks shared was the Mavericks partnership with Texas Oncology. “Patients came and told their stories, interacting with players. Seeing that is the best part of the job.”

In today's episode I talk to Anthony James Mattocks who is the founder of AJM Productions. Anthony was a financial advisor working long hours and leading a stressful lifestyle. When Anthony turned 50, he had a week of severe headaches and was rushed to hospital to have a life saving brain operation. He thought his life was over but after making an amazing recovery and happy to be alive he was inspired to set up AJM Productions. AJM was started as an inspiration as he was laying in the hospital bed and was wondering what was his life all about? He began to make up funny films and edits to cheer himself up and his friends to help him and them through the dark times of life. This then led to Anthony creating videos for charities and the first one he did was for Eddie Kidd. He supports 36 charities worldwide. In 2018 Anthony started to get pain in his head that were likened to electric shocks, after lengthy visits to the doctor he was then diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. He is now a crusader in raising awareness worldwide of this debilitating, life altering and not much known about condition and giving hope to millions of sufferers.
