My intention inside this episode is to honor all the work you've done this year by offering a Winter Solstice spell, inviting you to get curious about the somatic architecture you're dreaming from inside your next season. But above all, in this episode I want to celebrate you. Over the past 5 years you have held the overlapping grief of witnessing public lynchings by the hands of the police, a global pandemic we're still inside of, wildfires and other continuous climate crises and witnessing genocide and humanitarian crises from Palestine to Sudan — not to name the domestic and relational ruptures you've tended to on more intimate scales, the new cities moved to, the new homes and communities you've had to build. And look at you, still choosing vulnerability, still choosing relation, still choosing love, still choosing to believe in yourself and your values and by extension — still choosing to believe in us. For that I am recording this episode to say thank you. This is my offering of gratitude.ResourcesLearn More and Apply The Powerhouse Portal to Work Together 1:1: https://www.seedaschool.com/phEnroll Into The Laboratory of Erotic Engineering Membership: https://www.seedaschool.com/labSubscribe to the Seeda School Substack: https://seedaschool.substack.com/Follow Ayana on Instagram: @ayzacoFollow Ayana on Threads: @ayzacoFollow Seeda School on Instagram: @seedaschoolFollow Seeda School on TikTok: @seedaschoolCitations“Switching Houses From Scared Child House To Erotic Power House: How Corporal Punishment in Childhood Impacts Desire” by Ayana Zaire CottonSeed A World Retreat Alumni nènè myriam konaté invited us to imagine our existence as the offer in one of Seeda School's Open Studio sessions and that has been our grounding north star ever since. The Automotive Troublemaker w/ Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier
Shoot us a Text.Episode #1222: Today we break down Cox Automotive's 2026 forecast and why fragmentation is becoming the industry's defining theme. We also cover California regulators taking aim at Tesla's Autopilot language.Show Notes with links:Cox Automotive says the auto industry beat expectations in 2025, but 2026 will be shaped by fragmentation everywhere—from consumers and labor to policy, EVs, and AI. The result is softer volumes, tighter margins, and a market that rewards precision over optimism. The 5 big forces at play: A bifurcated consumer trading down, a stagnant job market, inflation easing but Fed uncertainty lingering, shifting policy and an EV incentive cliff, and AI hitting an operational inflection point—all pulling the market in different directions.New-vehicle volumes reset lower: Cox forecasts 15.8 million SAAR in 2026, down 2.4% YoY, signaling the high-15 million range as the new normal rather than a temporary dip.Retail, fleet, and leasing cool: New retail sales fall about 1.5%, fleet declines more sharply, and lease penetration drops toward 21%, the lowest level in three years as EV tax credits and leasing loopholes disappear.Used remains the pressure valve: Total used sales dip roughly 1%, but tight retail inventory and affordability concerns keep demand steady, pushing more shoppers toward lower-priced vehicles.Wholesale values normalize: Cox expects the Manheim Used Vehicle Value Index to rise 2% by the end of 2026, pointing to normal depreciation—with growing EV volume adding pricing complexity.California regulators ruled Tesla misled consumers with its “Autopilot” and “Full Self-Driving” marketing, giving the automaker 90 days to fix its language. The case briefly threatened Tesla's ability to sell cars in the state, but stops short of halting production. The DMV ordered a 30-day suspension of Tesla's dealer license, which would prevent Tesla from selling vehicles directly to consumers in California if it goes into effect. That dealer suspension is stayed for 90 days, meaning Tesla can keep selling cars as long as it updates its advertising and disclosures within that window.A separate manufacturing license suspension—which could have affected Tesla's ability to build vehicles in California—was permanently stayed and will not take effect.Regulators say Tesla's use of “Autopilot” and “Full Self-Driving Capability” implied autonomy that doesn't exist, creating unsafe assumptions for drivers.Tesla pushed back strongly, saying no consumer complained and stating, “Tesla has never misled consumers.”Thank you to today's sponsor, Mia. Where is the outrage? Where is the accountability? Where is the media? This is what President Trump has been warning about for years — and the regime mocked him. Now the truth is undeniable. The border wasn't “broken.” It was wide open — by design. And innocent people have paid the price. America deserves better. America deserves security. America deserves justice. And justice is coming. 30,000 Missing Illegal Immigrant Children Located: Tom Homan More than 30,000 missing illegal immigrant children have been located by the Trump administration, border czar Tom Homan said in a Fox News interview clip published on Nov. 18. At the beginning of the year, our teams redoubled our efforts to go after these networks and eliminate them. We have more than 300 investigations connected to this network going on nationwide, as we speak, and that number is growing. It is a top priority for us. Out of @FBIBaltimore - recently our teams worked with partners to arrest an individual who had allegedly targeted 5 victims – one as young as 13. The individual is now in federal custody, and we expect more information to be released on this case soon. Out of Arizona - recently, we had another case – where an indictment revealed an individual in federal custody had been found allegedly targeting kids as an affiliate of 764. The 9 victims involved were between 11-15 years old. Some of the allegations involve distributing child pornography, cyberstalking, animal crushing, and even conspiring to provide material support to terrorists. I cannot emphasize enough - this is a major issue in America that not enough people know about. We are asking all parents to please be on guard – check in with your kids and monitor their internet usage. Consider your options for putting safeguards in place that limit what these networks can reach. In the meantime, this @FBI will keep working day and night to destroy this network. It is a top priority. We are making progress, but the work isn't done. God bless America, and all those who defend Her. Perhaps the truth about these Democrats, and their associations with Jeffrey Epstein, will soon be revealed, because I HAVE JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES! As everyone knows, I asked Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune, to pass this Bill in the House and Senate, respectively. Because of this request, the votes were almost unanimous in favor of passage. At my direction, the Department of Justice has already turned over close to fifty thousand pages of documents to Congress. Do not forget — The Biden Administration did not turn over a SINGLE file or page related to Democrat Epstein, nor did they ever even speak about him. Democrats have used the “Epstein” issue, which affects them far more than the Republican Party, in order to try and distract from our AMAZING Victories, including THE GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TAX CUT BILL, Strong Borders, No Men in Women's Sports or Transgender for Everyone, ending DEI, stopping Biden's Record Setting Inflation, lowering Prices, Biggest Tax and Regulation Cuts in History, ending EIGHT Wars, rebuilding our Military, knocking out Iran's Nuclear capability, getting Trillions of Dollars INVESTED in the U.S.A., creating the “HOTTEST” Country anywhere in the World, and even delivering a HUGE DEFEAT to the Democrats on the recent Shutdown Disaster. For years our Great Nation has had to endure RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, IMPEACHMENT HOAX #1, IMPEACHMENT HOAX #2, and many other Democrat created Witch Hunts and Scams, all of which have been so terrible and divisive for our Country, and have been done to confuse, deflect, and distract from the GREAT JOB that Republicans, and the Trump Administration, are doing.

✦ Today, it is more important than ever to state, define, and be clear about who you are. To do that, you may have to be bold, upfront, and... frank. To that end, a dynamic group of 11 queer artists, known as Frank, will present a diverse, multifaceted, and self-defining art show entitled "Being Frank: it is because I am." The show is at Ansley Mall from September 14 through the 17, and City Lights Co-Host Jon Goode recently sat down with two of Frank's founding members, artists David Clifton-Strawn and artist Royce Soble. ✦ City Lights Collective members Jasmine Hentschel and EC Flamming, the creatives behind Atlanta's visual art print magazine, "GULCH", want you to get out and engage with the city's art scene. Each week, they spotlight five standout happenings, and today, they'll tell you about Living Walls's 15-year-anniversary "quinceañero" party, an exhibit at Marcia Wood that's sure to excite all you color theorists out there, and Cat Eye Creative's final show opening in their current South Downtown space. ✦ It's never too early to spark a lifelong love of the arts and theatrical performance. To that point, The Alliance Theater's Bernhardt Theater for the Very Young, in partnership with the Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta, is presenting a stage adaptation of "The Birthday of the World," based on the children's book by New York Times Bestseller Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen. The show runs through October 26 and includes two special outdoor performances at the MJCCA's Zaban Park on Sunday, September 14. City Lights Collective Engineer Matt McWilliams recently spoke to creator and director Jonathan Shmidt Chapman about bringing "The Birthday of the World" to Atlanta's youngest theatergoers. ✦ For 20 years, the High Museum of Art has awarded the David Driskell Prize to field-defining contributors in African American Art and Art History. This year, the award goes to Alison Saar, sculptor, installation artist, printmaker, and art scholar, whose sculpture "Salon" welcomed visitors to the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Driskell Prize winner joined WABE arts reporter Summer Evans to share her extraordinary legacy as an artist and scholar. ✦ Our series, "In Their Own Words," tells firsthand stories from our artistic community. US equities were higher in Thursday trading as stocks ended near best levels, with the Dow Jones, S&P500, and Nasdaq closing up 16bps, 32bps, and 53bps respectively. Q2 GDP was revised up to a 3.3% SAAR from the preliminary read of 3.0%, initial jobless claims printed at 229K, near the 228K consensus, and July pending-home sales were weaker against expectations for some firming. Treasury's $44B auction of 7-year notes tailed very slightly by 0.3bp. Nvidia beat and raised and continued to highlight strong demand for AI compute, but its Data Center segment came in light.
