Anderz Wrethov har varit ett återkommande namn under många Melodifestivaler och i år var han en av låtskrivarna bakom vinnande Bara Bada Bastu. Att Israel har fått delta i Eurovision har kritiserats sedan kriget i Gaza inleddes 2023. Under torsdagen så höll EBU ett möte med sina medlemsländer, där man röstade om vissa regeländringar i tävlingen. Men eftersom medlemmarna röstade ja till de föreslagna förändringarna, så hölls aldrig en omröstning om Israel fick vara med eller inte - man var nöjda med resultatet av den första omröstningen. Efter omröstningen kom beskedet att flera länder hoppar av tävlingen. Varför får Israel vara med? Kan Sverige komma att bojkotta tävlingen och finns det en framtid för Eurovision song contest? Annika Wickihalder föddes i Schweiz, växte upp på Kanarieöarna och kom som 5-åring till Sverige och Söderhamn. Där hamnade hon i en kyrkokör, egentligen för att lära sig det svenska språket, men hon lärde sig även att älska gospel. Sången tystnade dock p.g.a. slitningar i familjen, så först när hon flyttade hemifrån och hamnade på en folkhögskola i Mellansel hittade hon tillbaka till sången och kärleken till musiken. Nu lever hon på sin sång och har tagit sig till stora finalen i Melodifestivalen 2 gånger. När vinner hon Mello egentligen? Hon medverkade bland annat i Melodifestivalen 2002 med popgruppen Afro-Dite och vann - men bakom scenens glitter finns en livsresa som kantats av både motstånd och mod. This also concludes the series of Melodifestivalen 2025 Interviews on Radio International.  Miguel Bonello (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025) Interview with Miguel Bonello (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025): On Sat. 08 Feb 2025 Miriana Conte and her song "Kant" (now "Serving") was selected by the jury and Maltese public to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. Miriana successfully placed Malta in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest ranking 17th at the end of the voting sequence. Earlier on in February 2025, Radio International conducted interviews with all the contestants at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and more. This week, Radio International will broadcast an interview with Miguel Bonello who took part in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025. The FanVision Song Contest is part of the Euroision Weekend, where artists representing different Eurovision Fan Clubs, the OGAEs) performing covers of the Eurovision Song Contest. Artists from 11 Eurovision Fan Clubs from across Europe tooks part in the contest: Austria, Denmark, EC and OGAE Germany,  Italy, Malta, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland. För tio år sedan gick det stockholmska metalbandet Crucified Barbara in i väggen. Frontfiguren Mia Coldheart fick synrubbningar och domningar i händerna som gjorde att hon inte längre kunde spela gitarr. De var tvungna att lägga ner en framgångsrik karriär som gett dem fans över hela världen. Nyligen återförenades de för en spelning på Sweden Rock och nu hälsar Mia Coldheart och gitarristen Klara Force på hemma hos Strage! De pratar om hur det träffades på en fest i Jordbro i slutet av nittiotalet, döpte sitt band efter en uppblåsbar Barbara som de sett uppspikad på ett kors i Roskilde, slog igenom med albumet "In distorsion we trust" och tävlade i Melodifestivalen där de i andra chansen slogs ut av Pernilla Wahlgren. Nu försöker de ta hand om sig själva lite bättre. Det underlättas av att Klara är utbildad psykolog medan Mia blivit socionom, basisten Ida Evileye sjuksköterska och trummisen Nicki Wicked arbetsterapeut. On the guest list was Bojana Stamenov (Serbia 2015), Marc Roberts (Ireland 1997),  Renanta Domkovska (Poland 1998), Marc Dietrich was Peter, Sue and Marc (Switzerland 1971, 1976, 1979 and 1981) as surprise guest and Gunvor (Switzerland 1998). The Interview Team of Radio International had the pleasure to conduct interviews with all the artists which you will hear on the shows throughout the summer of 2025. This week we start broadcasting the interview with Gunvor who in 1998 represented Switzerland with the song "Lass ihn" which ranked 25th at the end of the Voting Sequence in the Final. On the guest lists among other were also Jerry Heil who represented Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 together with Alyona Alyona with the song "Teresa and Maria" coming 3rd in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.  Marc and JP from Radio International ad the pleasure to obtain an UpDate Interview with Jerry Heil you can hear on Radio International this week.  Destiny (Malta 2021 and Junior ESC Winner 2015, Malta)   Interview with Destiny (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025): During the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 earlier on in February 2025 JP bumped into Destiny who represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands with the song "Je me casse" which came 7th in the Grand Final. In 2020, Destiny was selected by X-Factor Malta to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "All of My Love". The Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was cancelled due to the Corona Pandemic and Destiny got the chance to represent Malta at Eurovision 2021. Already previously she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "No, not my Soul". At the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Destiny coached some of the participating artists and JP took the chance of an interview which you can hear on Radio International this week.    Matthew Cilia (Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025)     Interview with Matthew Cilia: On Sat. 08 Feb 2025 Miriana Conte and her song "Kant" (now "Serving") was selected by the jury and Maltese public to represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contetest 2025 in Basel in May. Miriana successfully placed Malta in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest ranking 17th at the end of the voting sequence. Earlier on in February 2025, Radio International conducted interviews with all the contestants at the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 and more. This week, Radio International will broadcast an interview with Matthew Cilia who participated in Semi Final 1 of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2025 but unfortunately did not qualify for the Grand Final. That particular song contest was won by Emmelie de Forest from neighbouring Denmark with the song "Only Teardrops". In the run up to the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 Margret was invited to the London Eurovision Party 2025 where the rowing reporter of Radio International Salman had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing Margret Berger which you can hear on the show this week. Maria Sur (Melodifestivalen 2023 and 2024)   Interview with Maria Sur (Sweden's Melodifestivalen 2023 and 2024): In 2023 a newcomer to Melodifestivalen in Sweden came from Ukraine and started her career in Sweden. Already her first Melodifestvalen entry was a success. Maria Sur qualified from the Heat into the Grand Final where she finished 9th with the song "Never give up".  In 2024, Maria Sur returned to Sweden's biggest music competition to select the entry to represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest. Han har då lagt upp roliga klipp på Youtube i flera år, men när bloggaren Kissie delar ett av hans klipp exploderar det. Sedan dess har William Spetz karriär rusat fram, i tv-branschen och på teaterscenen. 2016 står han på scenen i finalen av Melodifestivalen som den yngsta programledaren någonsin. Med succéserien Tore uppfyller William inte bara sin egen största dröm utan får också ett internationellt genomslag.
