Bryan Kohberger, was allegedly a quiet loner with control and OCD fixations, and unresolved anger issues who struggled to make and maintain relationships with women and people. And now, he's being charged with first-degree murder of four Idaho college students. According to reports, the individual suspected of murdering four students at the University of Idaho maintained a low profile in the apartment complex where he lived near Washington State University. As a result, some of his neighbors were unaware that the alleged murderer lived nearby. According to a statement released by the school, Bryan Kohberger, 28, who was charged with four counts of first-degree murder, went back to college after the killings and completed his first semester as a doctoral student studying criminal justice. Kohberger is facing four counts of first-degree murder. Justin Williams went on to say to FOX news that he rarely saw the person who is suspected of killing Kohberger. "That was the only time I saw him, he went to check his mail. "Other than that, I've only seen him like twice in my entire time here, and I've lived here since July 2021," Williams said, adding that he observed "nothing remarkable" in Kohberger's conduct. Williams has lived here since 2021. Shawn Domgaard, a PhD student at Washington State University who is 36 years old, stated that the news of the arrest just a few feet from his house is "difficult to accept." Fox News quoted a man from Utah who is a native of the state and a father of three young children as saying, "It's just so, like I said, a high contrast to what we're used to. Prosecutor Thompson told reporters at a press conference on Friday that additional information on the murders and the investigation that led to Kohberger's arrest will remain sealed in a probable cause affidavit until he is extradited back to Idaho. The reason for this is that Idaho state law requires the information to be kept confidential. In Monroe County, Pennsylvania, Kohberger is being held without the possibility of bond. On January 3, he will appear before an extradition hearing. According to one of the suspect's old friends, the criminology PhD student suspected of murdering four classmates at the University of Idaho changed into an aggressive and violent bully toward the end of high school. Nick Mcloughlin, from Pleasant Valley, Pennsylvania, told the Daily Beast that he was shocked to find that his high school friend Bryan Christopher Kohberger was arrested on Friday in relation to the horrible slayings that took place in November. According to Mcloughlin, the two remained close throughout their adolescent years as pals. They spent half of their days at Pleasant Valley High School and the other half attending the technical school in Monroe County for classes on how to operate with heating and air conditioning systems. However, the relationship came to an end after Mcloughlin stated that Kohberger went through a change in personality within the course of one summer. According to one of Kohberger's former friends, he also started taking boxing lessons and could not wait to put his newly acquired talents to use. "He was constantly looking for a battle with somebody, and he bullied other individuals. "We started isolating him from our buddy circle because he was 100 totally a different person," Mcloughlin said, adding that the change in personality came as a complete shock to the pals and remained a mystery to them. According to The Daily Beast, Kohberger attended Northampton Community College after graduating from Pleasant Valley High School. In 2018, he received a degree in psychology from Northampton Community College. Kohberger maintained his position as a school security officer in the Pleasant Valley School District for a number of years until resigning from his employment there a year ago. After that, in 2022, he attended DeSales University and earned a master of arts degree in criminal justice there. When Kohberger was still a student at the institution, he made a post on Reddit seeking participation from former inmates in a research survey he was conducting on "how emotions and psychological traits influence decision-making when committing a crime." In the survey, he asked the criminals about the manner in which the criminals approached their victims and whether or not they had planned the crime in advance. According to a relative, the suspect in the stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students disturbed his family with his strange eating habits. The victims were killed when he stabbed them. An aunt of Bryan Kohberger who is no longer related to him told The Post in an exclusive interview on Friday afternoon that her nephew's food restrictions were "very, very unusual." "It was above and above being vegan," said the aunt, who declined to be identified but said she was previously married into the family and had been brought into the vegan lifestyle by her husband. Because he would not consume anything previously used to prepare meat, his aunt and uncle were forced to purchase brand new cookware. He gave off the impression of having obsessive-compulsive disorder." During a news conference held on Friday afternoon, the Chief of Police for the city of Moscow stated that detectives are still hunting for the knife that was used in the killing of four students from the University of Idaho in November. According to the records, Kohberger was arraigned in Pennsylvania on Friday morning, and he is still being held without bond in anticipation of his extradition hearing on January 3. The suspect has the choice to renounce their extradition rights and return voluntarily to the state of Idaho. But if he decides not to, the Moscow police will have to start the process of extradition through the governor's office, which Fry said may take some time. Prosecutors have stated that their work is not even close to being finished despite the fact that a suspect has been charged. “This is not the end of this investigation. In fact, this is a new beginning,” Thompson said Friday night. An arrest is made in the murders of four University of Idaho students. 48 days after the brutal stabbing, Bryan Kohberger, 28, was arrested early Friday morning over 2,500 miles away in Pennsylvania. Kohberger has been charged with first-degree murder and felony burglary. An extradition hearing is schedule for Tuesday. Police are answered few questions about what led up to Kohberger's arrest, saying Idaho law requires the arrest affidavit be sealed until the suspect is “physically back in Latah County” and officially charged. In the meantime, Kohberger's academics is being picked apart. Kohberger graduated from Northampton Community College with an associate of arts degree in psychology. He received a bachelor's degree as well as a masters degree in criminal justice from DeSales University. Kohberger had just completed his first semester as a PhD student in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Washington State University. He is also a teaching assistant there. On Episode 82 of No Rain Date, our special guest is a man who had to try using many different voices--literally--in order to find his own. Voice actor and instructor Brian S. Atwood explains that while his talent at impersonating everyone from Homer Simpson to Jimmy Stewart was what he thought would help him break into voice acting, it was ultimately his decision to use his own voice that helped launch his successful career following jobs with The Philadelphia Orchestroa and at Sirius Radio. In recent years, Atwood has raised his voice for such well-known clients as the Smithsonian Institution, General Electric, Nissan, Walmart, Pfizer Pharmaceuticals and Wikipedia, and his voice-over work has been featured on History Channel, H2, truTV, American Heroes Channel and HLN television programs, as well as in various national radio, internet and TV ad campaigns. Today, Atwood also stays busy by helping to train the next generation of voice actors as an instructor at Northampton Community College. As always, Josh has a news roundup of the latest local news, including a story about a local boy's role playing Tiny Tim in Civic Theatre of Allentown's production of "A Christmas Carol" and a feature about the newest member of the Saucon Valley Alumni Association's Wall of Fame. Life's Tough Media is pleased to announce the latest episode of our “Life's Tough: Explorers are TOUGHER!” podcast series. Hosted by Richard Wiese—explorer extraordinaire and President of The Explorers Club—this episode features David Good, an adjunct biology instructor at Northampton Community College, public speaker, and remote indigenous tribes expert—concentrating on the Yanomami people. Like any typical 5-year-old, David has fond memories of dancing and wrestling with his mother, eating donuts, and going to the beach together. But his family was far from typical. His mother, Yarima, was a young tribe woman from a remote village in the deepest jungles of the Amazon rainforest, and his father, Kenneth Good, a prominent American anthropologist. Their love story was so unique it made the headlines of major television agencies, news outlets, and magazines. David remembers traveling with his family from his home in New Jersey to the Amazon and back again as a young child, immersing himself fully in two strikingly different cultures. And when his mother stayed behind with her people in the Yanomami village after one of these visits, David had no idea it would be the last time he would see her for 20 years. It took David two decades to embrace his true identity. He spent his entire childhood resenting his mother's absence and his Yanomami heritage, wishing he could have a mom like all the other kids at school. David attended East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania where he received his undergraduate degree in biology. And in 2015, he received his master's degree in biology at the same university. He's also a member of the Maria Gloria Domingeuz-Bello lab in the Department of Translational Medicine at NYU. In his early twenties, David read his father's memoir, documenting the years he spent living among the Yanomami people. Slowly, David started to understand what his mother must have gone through and why it had been impossible for her to stay and raise children in westernized culture. In 2013, David traveled through the Amazon Jungle in search of his mother and was eventually reunited with his Yanomami family. Deep in the Venezuelan Amazon they embraced each other's presence. David not only found his mother; he found his indigenous family and homeland. It marked the beginning of a calling to learn the ancient ways of the Yanomami people, as well as share this culture around the world. The Good Project In 2013, David founded the Good Project, a nonprofit aimed at educating, protecting and preserving the ways of the Yanomami people and to help indigenous people find their way in the market economy—a process he sees as inevitable. The Yanomami live in 200-250 villages in an area of 60,000 square miles of jungle, sprawling across the Venezuela-Brazil border and have little to no contact with the outside world. Some of his current goals is to help advance pioneering scientific research, increase access to intercultural education, enhance medical programs, promote sustainability, and stewardship in the Amazon. Concerning his continued research into the Yanomami people and their culture David says, “I do it not as a dispassionate scientist, but as someone who truly cares about their survivorship and their well-being because we're talking about my own mother.” David is a public speaker and captivating storyteller. He travels domestically and internationally to educate, raise awareness, and provide personal, unique insights on the world of the Yanomami. Join Richard and David for a fascinating account of what it was like growing up as the “son of Yarima”, what prompted his journey to search for her after many years apart, and his ongoing research and support for the Yanomami people. David recently wrote, “Their survival is necessary in keeping us alert to maintaining the Amazon's critical role in protecting the planet.”

On today’s show, I am thrilled to welcome Tara Zrinski to the show. Tara is the Democratic party candidate for State Rep in the Lehigh Valley's 138th State House district in Northampton County. If you haven’t been paying attention to this race yet, now is the time. Tara is campaigning on health care for all, protecting our environment, and protecting our democracy from corruption and the influence of big money. But more than that, she has consulted with workers, nurses, environmentalists, and community organizations to craft integrated policies that put the health of working families and our communities first. (Tara will bring the strength of these organizations to Harrisburg). Born and raised in Bethlehem, Tara was elected to Northampton County Councilwoman in 2017. She has been an advocate for clean energy and sustainability. She worked as a Solar Energy Consultant for SunPulse Solar, supplementing her adjunct faculty career teaching Philosophy at Northampton Community College, Lehigh County Community College, and Lehigh University. Any Out d’Coup listener will be well acquainted with the challenges faced by adjunct faculty. Tara is the Chair of the Energy, Environment, and Land Use Committee in Northampton County and a member of the committee of the same name at the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania. In 2018, she formed the Industrial Hemp Ad Hoc Committee for Industrial Hemp to explore the economic development potential of the emerging crop and identify areas necessitating government support for farmers and industrial hemp business entrepreneurs. In 2015, she self-published her first children's book, "All Ducks Are Birds, But, Not All Birds Are Ducks," a logic book for children which she wrote and illustrated. Tara just got a big endorsement from Bernie Sanders as part of a battalion of candidates progressives are organizing behind to help take control of the PA House and Senate. https://www.vote4zrinski.org/ A special shout out to Jonathan Mann who wrote our theme song, “There Are No People in the Future.” Check out all is great stuff on his YouTube page and follow him on Twitter @songadaymann

Shana sat down this week with Tara Zrinski. Tara was born and raised in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. In 2017 she was elected to Northampton County Council and now she is setting her sights on making bigger waves of change in Pennsylvania's legislature. Currently, she is running for Pennsylvania's 138th House District, a community that is ravaged by the Penn East Pipeline. Over the last few years, she has fought for her constituents against corporations and big polluters lurking in her own backyard. Unfortunately, as a County Councilwoman, she has limited power and impact on environmental issues facing her community. If elected as a State Representative, she is determined to fight for her constituents and all Pennsylvanians. In addition to her career in politics, Tara has been a fierce advocate for clean energy and sustainability within our local communities, while working as a Solar Energy Consultant for SunPulse Solar, and supplementing her adjunct teaching career that she has held since 2019. Tara has taught Philosophy at Northampton Community College, Lehigh County Community College, and Lehigh University. Shana and Tara had a lively discussion about her campaign and what inspired her to run for office. Issues like hydraulic fracturing, sewage sludge aka biosolids, and pipeline production were the main topics of their conversation and influences of her campaign. On September 7th, Labor Day Tara's campaign is hosting a virtual concert series Eco Jam at 6-8 pm EST. If you care about climate change, love live music, and want to support Tara's campaign, this is the event for you!! To get your tickets, go to her campaign's Act Blue account. If you would like to find out more about her campaign, donate or volunteer please visit her website (vote4zrinski.org), Instagram, and Facebook pages.

Omowale Afrika, husband to LaToya, and father to Naima and Khairi, was born and raised in North Philadelphia. He attended William Penn High School, and was a graduate of the class of 2001. Shortly after graduating, he enrolled in the Philadelphia Diversity Apprenticeship Program to pursue a career in carpentry. Although the building trades did not provide the opportunity promised by the program, Omowale eventually began to volunteer his time with Men United for a Better Philadelphia, as a community organizer, and advocate against gun violence. His work with Men United led to an opportunity to partner with the School District of Philadelphia during the 2005-2006 school year, and subsequent employment with the City of Philadelphia's – Adolescence Violence Reduction Program. Omowale would go on to enroll in Northampton Community College in the Summer of 2008, and after obtaining an Associates of Arts in Business Administration, he transferred to Lehigh University, where he earned a Bachelor's of Science in Business & Economics. Although professionally trained as a CPA, his education has always come from the wealth of walking libraries within the Black community. It is the latter type of experiential learning, that led him to service within the United Negro Improvement Association (UNIA), where he served as the Division President at the International Head Quarters of the association. In addition to his work as a community organizer, Omowale is also an essayist, and is currently penning his first book in an effort to raise the political consciousness of his generation. In this regard, Omowale considers his work to be an extension of the tradition started by Martin Robinson Delaney, but can also be found in the writings of Marcus Garvey, Harold Cruse, and other nationalist scholars whose production of educational content was largely outside of the academy.
