In a world increasingly weaponizing our humanity against us, Kayleigh embarks on a crucial exploration of self-trust and authenticity. In this episode of The Future is Human Podcast, she delves deep into the need for a discerning approach to personal beliefs and societal values. Kayleigh invites listeners to reevaluate whether the principles they've been living by are genuinely theirs or whether they've adopted them wholesale from external influences. It's not enough to just navigate life with blind allegiance to a set of values. Kayleigh emphasizes the vital importance of standing for something different—of creating the platforms and spaces that allow a new world to flourish. With a blend of emotional intelligence and deeply considered thought, she encourages listeners to reflect on what triggers them and to use that self-awareness as a compass for personal and collective transformation. Kayleigh's rallying call is clear: don't let your humanity be weaponized against you. Instead, become the conscious leader you are meant to be, driving change through self-expression, community, and leadership. 10 Key Takeaways: Challenge the beliefs you've been conditioned to accept. Humanity's greatest qualities can be manipulated; be vigilant. Question the fight you're told to fight; is it truly yours? You alone should care most deeply about your own destiny. Do not let societal judgments deter you from your true path. Creating your art and living an inspired life is a form of leadership. Technology, like AI, can be a tool for individual empowerment. Your values are your compass in a world of external influence. Being mindful of your triggers can illuminate your true self. Personal freedom is not just a right, but a responsibility. So many business leadership and networking events are still operating from the masculine paradigm of doing business. This is why it is so important to be mindful of who you share your ideas with.    A lot of being human is about building authentic connections with others. Oftentimes networking events are so entrenched in the masculine paradigm and the ideas of lack versus abundance, that they are actively teaching things that hinder building those vital connections. When you see everyone as competition, it is hard to form an authentic relationship with them. Kayleigh  explains that her experience at this event helped her to feel even more sure of her path and to recognize how important it is for her as an empath to navigate business from a divine feminine perspective. In this episode, Kayleigh talks about her experiences at the women's networking event, the exercise of writing out your 100 life goals, and getting into the joy of cooking as a means to connect with what it means to be human.   In this episodeKayleigh also shares what she has been learning from finally opening a cookbook that she has had for years upon finding some gorgeous vegetables at the farmer's market. Cooking is a great way to bring people together as it encourages playfulness and creativity. When Kayleigh reviews her 100 life goals list after rediscovering her cookbook, she realizes that her desire to cook is directly connected to her desire for family.    Quotes “If you haven't already written down your 100 life goals, what are you waiting for? This exercise writing down 100 things that you hope to experience in this lifetime, I believe is your key to feeling into your creative energy and starting to ignore your present ‘reality'.” (0:48-1:13) “Show up with guidance, show up with inspiration, show up with stories and not fear based messaging.” (25:49-25:56) “If we believe that energy flows where our attention goes, and I look at this list, I feel so much energy and excitement to move in the direction that will make these dreams and life goals a reality.” (34:27-34:40) “The beauty of the future being human is we have to come back to these special creative tasks that only we can do.” (47:23-47:33)    Links Register Today for The Diversity in Humanity Virtual Summit April 26-27: https://diversity-in-humanity.heysummit.com/ Access All of the Talks from The Great LeadHERship Awakening Virtual Summit: https://the-great-leadhership-awakening.heysummit.com/ Purchase Your Copy of The Great LeadHERship Awakening: https://www.amazon.com/Great-LeadHERship-Awakening/dp/B0BWYZ9YBY/ Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Have you been pressing ignore on all of the universe's signs that it is time to reboot and upgrade your human operating system? You're not alone. Change can be scary, and it may be tempting to keep ignoring the signs and continue on with the status quo. However, if you don't reboot now, your future will look pretty much the same as how your life has been up until now. Kayleigh came to this realization recently as she was preparing for and leading the launch of Soul Excellence Publishing's newest book, The Great LeadHership Awakening. In this episode, she discusses the benefits of acknowledging the signs and stepping into your upgraded human operating system.   For Kayleigh, it has always been difficult to allow herself to feel her feelings and acknowledge her human needs. This is true for many high achievers, especially those who grew up in households where expressing emotions was discouraged. In order to allow the reboot of your human operating system, you have to be willing to sit with and process those hard to face feelings. Once you press play on that upgrade, your future can start to align with the life that you desire. As an empath leader, when you are your most authentic self, you will have a greater impact on those around you.   We are all connected, so when we upgrade our human consciousness, everyone benefits. In order to create the New Earth economy, it is imperative that we come together as our most authentic selves. It may be intimidating to face the parts of yourself that you have been pushing down; but when you do, you will feel more freedom than ever before.   Quotes-  “I invite you to consider what's always been inside of you that you know, but it's a little scary to pursue.” (11:09-11:16) “If our past selves have created this moment, it is our present self, it is in this moment today that we get to create our future self. If we don't respect that, and know that, and live in alignment with that, then we know exactly what's going to happen in our lives from this moment. It's going to just continue to be exactly what we've manifested up until this day.” (15:44-16:05) “We have to respect, celebrate, acknowledge, be present for, support one another in this moment, because it's from that moment of the now that's creating this future.” (20:22-20:33) “Part of being human and part of this journey of The Future Is Human is to admit that we are human, that we do have needs.” (34:24-34:33)  “Remember who you truly are. And what that looks like is to remember that we are all connected.” (36:42-36:49)    Links   Get Your Tickets for The Great LeadHERship Awakening Online Summit:  https://the-great-leadhership-awakening.heysummit.com/  Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

88 - What Does Nostalgia Teach Us?

Nostalgia is a very relatable human feeling, but what does it teach us? While preparing for a flight to Los Angeles, California, to meet with the co-authors of The Great Leadership Awakening, Kayleigh was hit by a wave of nostalgia. In this episode, Kayleigh discusses the concept of nostalgia and explores the deeper meanings the feeling may be trying to convey.    Kayleigh's nostalgia was sparked by riding her bike to the beach and jumping into the ocean, recording out of her small bedroom studio, and flying to California. When she analyzed why these activities were causing nostalgia, she realized that they were all reminders of times where she got to enjoy nature, explore the world, connect with other people, and be at the start of something new. Her bedroom studio reminded her of the early days of Soul Excellence, learning and creating a publishing company from that exact spot. Biking to the ocean reminded her of early days after first moving to Florida in 2020, exploring nature and fostering her creativity while everything shut down around her. Flying to California brought up nostalgia for her very first time flying to San Francisco and Hawaii and getting to experience new worlds.    For Kayleigh, these moments of nostalgia showed her facts about herself that she has always known to be true, but that she may have forgotten to incorporate into her present life. They also provided an opportunity to look back in sentimentality and pride for all she has accomplished. Nostalgia can be many things because it teaches us about our inner desires and provides chances to make new meanings from past experiences. Quotes  “I have so much nostalgia for those early days where I got to bike and be, and feel, and connect. It's almost like I created the conditions for myself to have a lot more aha moments than I find myself having at this moment.” (12:44-13:02) “It wasn't just ideas and spaciousness and beach. It was learning how to build a business, to ask for money, to come up with ideas, to learn how to build a publishing company. And it all happened right here in this exact spot.” (17:29-17:43) “When you think about your own moments of nostalgia, is there something that you're emotionally taking away that's maybe missing from your experience in this moment? And can you somehow cultivate that?” (18:32-18:43)  “Don't forget how far you've come because it's so easy to forget how far we've come, especially when things feel extremely difficult and overwhelming.” (18:53-19:02) “Nostalgia is so powerful. I think it tells us a lot about our desires, about our inner landscape, about the things that make us tick.” (27:52-28:03) Links   Get Your Tickets for The Great LeadHERship Awakening Online Summit:  https://the-great-leadhership-awakening.heysummit.com/  Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

The feeling of “not enough” is an illusion. Just by existing, you are enough. In this episode, Kayleigh discusses ways to see through the illusion of not being enough, reads an excerpt from her upcoming book The Great LeadHERship Awakening, explains how an encounter with a stingray reinforced that she is on the right path, and shares how Disney's Encanto really reflects the messages of leadership, diversity, interconnection, awakening, and acceptance.   Even after three years of building a company that is an expression of her authentic soul, Kayleigh still struggles with feelings of being not enough. This feeling of having to constantly achieve to be good enough is a false paradigm that you can choose to stop buying into. When Kayleigh came across a stingray for the first time, she knew it was a sign from the universe. And upon looking up its symbolism that sign became very clear. The stingray is a symbol of emotional liberation, the freedom to adapt, and a message to stop hesitating and take action. It is a perfect symbol for the message of acceptance, transformation and healing that The Great LeadHERship Awakening stands for.   If you feel like you're not enough no matter what you do, just know that is an illusion. Everyone is connected and true freedom is in accepting that our sense of separation is false. Join Kayleigh at The Great LeadHERship Summit for workshops and talks from the authors which can also be accessed as replays if you are unavailable to join live.  Quotes “I struggled mightily to put everything that I'm feeling and thinking and noticing into words because so much is happening every single day. So much awareness, so much integration that it feels almost disingenuous at this moment to put anything into a chapter, onto words.” (3:35-3:41) “We're also hosting a summit where all of the authors who've taken the time to create, to express, to publish will be speaking, will be giving workshops and you can join us live.” (6:20-6:32) “The stingray symbolizes emotional liberation. It symbolizes sensitivity. It symbolizes that you are free to move on, and that it's time to stop hesitating. Everything is in place and it is on time. It is time to act.” (9:36-9:56) “Nothing is stagnant, nothing is exactly as it seems. There is so much more.” (10:45-10:50) “This sense of disconnection, this sense of separateness. Play Episode Listen Later Feb 23, 2023 31:38

In order to achieve freedom, you have to get out of your own way and stop trapping yourself in old narratives. In this episode, Kayleigh discusses the importance of the sovereign self, where you make choices and set boundaries that enable you to be the best version of yourself. When you let go of the traps you've set for yourself, you open yourself up to boundless possibilities.   If you're behaving in ways that are automatic or are driven by your desires, attachments, and old delusions of how you think you're supposed to be, then you're not truly free. Kayleigh opened herself up to receiving intuitive messages and ended up exploring Lake Worth, a beach town near her home. While there, she stumbled upon the book, Sovereign Self by Acharya Shunya. This book spoke to Kayleigh's current life experiences and helped her to better open up to make choices that support her desire for freedom. Then, she came across MLK Jr. Pathway to Freedom, a walkway featuring quotes from important figures during the civil rights movement. She was particularly moved by a quote from Thurgood Marshall, which talks about the importance of recognizing the humanity of our fellow human beings.   Often people become trapped in delusions instead of being able to see reality for what it is. They stay caught in these traps and lose the connection not only to one another, but to their highest state of being. Take time to really think about the path to freedom and whether your thoughts and actions are supporting you or trapping you. Quotes   “It's only from a deep sense of inner freedom that we can really make choices and decisions that don't just serve us, but actually serve all of humanity because we're showing up fully as the highest version of ourselves.” (9:07-9:22) “Following that intuitive hit was just a reminder that when we're not caught in our own traps and we're open to possibility, even better ideas come to us.” (11:02-11:11)  “Am I free right now? Am I acting as if I'm free? Or am I a slave to desires? Am I a slave to my attachments? Am I a slave to what I think I should want? Or am I open to the experience of life and am I freely making choices that are in support of my boundless, limitless, most conscious self?” (17:36-17:58) “In recognizing the humanity of our fellow beings, we pay ourselves the highest tribute.” (21:07-21:12 | Thurgood Marshall) “Let this message be an invitation to explore the pathway to freedom. Which really is the pathway inward toward our true self, not the layers of stuff that we've added upon it.” (27:15-27:29)    Links Get Your Tickets for The Great LeadHERship Awakening Online Summit:  https://the-great-leadhership-awakening.heysummit.com/  Listen - or - watch all episodes of the podcast: https://thefutureishumanpodcast.com/  Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Join our next book - The Diversity in Humanity https://form.typeform.com/to/nC4RkNmm Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

In order to upgrade your human operating system, it's vital to access and trust our emotional guidance systems. In this episode, Kayleigh talks about the importance of reconnecting with the human experience by tuning into your emotions and connecting in person. She also shares her excitement about the upcoming book launch and summit for The Great LeadHERship Awakening, the latest book from Soul Excellence Publishing.    The pandemic led to people relying primarily on virtual communication. Now that we are able to get together again, Kayleigh has realized that in person interactions are essential not only for her own energy, but also for fostering more meaningful relationships. As part of her commitment to upgrading her human operating system, Kayleigh is choosing to pull the anomaly, a phrase coined by Claudia Cauterucci, founder of Dynamic Meditation, which refers to making a different choice. In Kayleigh's case, pulling the anomaly refers specifically to sitting with and allowing herself to feel her feelings, even the uncomfortable ones.   If your reaction to experiencing an emotion is to ignore it, you are missing out on opportunities to connect with the human experience and hindering your ability to receive feedback from your body. Next time you feel an uncomfortable emotion, try pulling the anomaly by sitting in the feeling and surrendering to stillness.   Quotes  “This is your opportunity if you're traveling this year, if people are visiting, to really show up and say let's see each other in person. It is so essential.” (7:34-7:45)  “How do I stay fully here as I explore the beginning of this new relationship?” (8:57-9:03) “When I think about upgrading my human operating system, I know for me right now, the focus is on the emotional, and specifically being able to sit with emotion, to feel emotion, to not run from emotion, and to really use emotion as a guidance system for decisions that I'm making and choices that I'm making and preferences that I have.” (18:25-18:49) “Upgrading our human operating system is when we start to realize that our bodies are AI. They are giving us feedback and signals and responding to what we're giving it in terms of our thoughts, our feelings, our food, everything.” (26:19-26:36)   Links Register to join us at The Great LeadHERship Awakening Virtual Summit March 14 - March 16: https://the-great-leadhership-awakening.heysummit.com/ Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Pre-Order Your Copy of The Future is Human book releasing in June! https://www.amazon.com/Future-Human-Kayleigh-OKeefe-ebook/dp/B0BQXDR25X Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Were you the straight-A student, the high-achieving athlete, or the “good girl” who always followed the rules? If so, this identity may actually be doing you a disservice in your adult life. In this episode, Kayleigh shares her experience growing up as a “good girl”, the impact it has had on who she is today, and the four steps you can take to break free from that persona and heal your inner child.    As Kayleigh continues to guide authors through her work at Soul Excellence Publishing, she has recently experienced an awakening as she's begun to recognize pieces of her own experiences in their projects. Reflecting back on her earlier life, Kayleigh couldn't help but realize that we all tend to attract people who are similar to us. And for her, that had always meant attracting all the “good girls” and “good boys”. But what does that really mean? While many people feel pride in being good, it can also be very restricting. In order to live authentically, you must shed the “good girl” identity and allow yourself to tune into how you are truly feeling.    Being a “good girl” can cause dissatisfaction and a sense of disconnection later on in life. Learning to sit and really feel your true emotions is vital for moving forward from repetitive patterns of achievement and disappointment.  Quotes   “If there's something on your heart and mind and you don't even quite know what it is yet, taking the first step and writing a chapter in a book is such a beautiful way to commit to an idea and put it out there. And then it's something that you can keep revisiting.” (27:21-27:34) “When we wrap ourselves in this good girl identity and place our value outside of ourselves, we don't give ourselves room to feel.” (34:37-34:47) “The only way through this good girl thing that we've got going on is to feel.” (42:38-42:42) “The point of feeling is to actually release it and create space. It can be easy to get caught up in the cult of the individual and think you have to do everything yourself, but it could not be farther from the truth. Over the weekend, Kayleigh tossed on her favorite shacket and took advantage of the cooler Florida weather to spend some time reconnecting with nature, enjoying a beautiful fire with friends, and looking inward. In this episode, Kayleigh shares what she learned from taking 3 days away from social media, the power of gene keys, and the value of community and the spiral of ascension.    Gene keys provide a pathway for us to elevate our vibrations and operate from our highest forms of essence. Kayleigh spent time over the weekend considering business expansion and realizing that expansion without first doing the inner work would be unsustainable. By reconnecting with nature and her support network, she was able to learn more about herself, her natural gifts, and what she still needs to work on.    Embrace every aspect of yourself, even the darker side. It is within those darker aspects that our true gifts are revealed.  Quotes  “Gene keys give us the pathway to contemplate how we go from the lower vibrations or negative thoughts that we have and turn those into our greatest gifts. Social media can be a wonderful tool for fostering connections, but we all know it can also be distracting and overwhelming. In this episode Kayleigh shares her rationale - and lessons learned - from taking a weekend off of social media.   Even though Kayleigh was doing a social media detox, she still woke up that first morning and immediately tried to open her Instagram app. Breaking habits is difficult, so set yourself up for success by logging out of your social media apps, deleting them if necessary, and at minimum, moving them off your home screen. When you step back from social media, you will be able to be more present in the moment.    Take time to reconnect with nature and make space for your own inner world. You may be surprised by how much more openness, spaciousness, connectedness, and possibility you feel when you take a break from social media, even for just a few days.    Quotes  “The second time that we got together a few months later, the shift had happened. I was so eager to turn in my technology because what I had experienced that first time was just truly how big, how long, how magical a single day can be without social media.” (7:27-7:48) “Get off social media for a few days and see what you notice. Just treat it as an experiment, you can always come back.” (19:57-20:05) “If you have an overactive mind like I do, or one that can get really caught in habitual thoughts, we have to make the decision at some point to break out of that and to just do something different to see what we're being shown.” (27:08-27:24)   Links Discover Your Divine Feminine Archetype: https://femininemastery.com/ Pre-Order Your Copy of The Future is Human book releasing in June! https://www.amazon.com/Future-Human-Kayleigh-OKeefe-ebook/dp/B0BQXDR25X Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Join our next book - The Diversity in Humanity https://form.typeform.com/to/nC4RkNmm Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

81 - Love and Life Lessons from Watching Love on the Spectrum

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 17, 2023 39:53

A lot of life lessons can be learned from watching and being on a journey with individuals who are looking for love. The desire for connection and intimacy are vital components of the human experience. Today, Kayleigh talks about the lessons she learned from watching Netflix's Love on the Spectrum, a reality show about a group of neurodiverse people looking for love, going on dates, and entering into relationships. Even if you are not neurodivergent, Kayleigh has many takeaways from the show that can benefit you and help you to go deeper into your own humanity.    Kayleigh observed many lessons on life and love while watching Love on the Spectrum. The first was the mutuality of asking for permission, even for small things like holding hands. Next, she observed a greater appreciation for the little things along the journey of life. This tied in slightly with the next lesson which was to recognize how special our interests are and to be supportive of our loved ones' passions even if they do not directly interest us. The next lesson is the permission to self soothe, a thing that is often judged quite harshly by society but that harms no one and can help us to regulate our emotions and keep our anxiety in check. Kayleigh found that the neurodiverse individuals on the show were also very vocal and honest about their feelings toward other people, even during hard times like breakups.    Love on the Spectrum provides a great opportunity to see people approaching something as human and relatable as dating from a different and unique perspective. By learning more about neurodivergent individuals, you may also learn more about how to better connect with your own humanity and the people around you. Tune into The Future is Human with host Kayleigh O'Keefe to learn all seven of the lessons she observed while watching the show and how you can apply these lessons to your own life.    Quotes  • “There's so much to be learned by watching and listening and being on the journey with these individuals who are looking for love, because whether you're in a relationship, you're not in a relationship, you're married, you're not married, whatever you even want in the world, all of us as part of the human experience desire love, desire connection.” (9:13-9:33 | Kayleigh) • “One of the things that almost every single person on the show did was ask for permission.” (11:09-11:15 | Kayleigh) • “Our interests are so special. They're so unique. They're what makes us us.” (15:46-15:52 | Kayleigh) • “Self soothing is okay, and it's something that we're not given permission to, and it's something probably a version of me in the past would really judge.” (19:16-19:27 | Kayleigh) • “It's free to tell someone how we feel, the impact they're having on us, what we notice in them, that warm feeling, whatever the feeling is. This is free human intimacy that we can offer to anyone in our lives right now.” (24:44-25:01 | Kayleigh) • “How many times are we sort of, not even in relationships, maybe it's in business, maybe it's things that we're tolerating in our life that we're circumventing around and not just being straightforward and honest about how we feel?” (32:00-32:16 | Kayleigh) • “I was able to not only see people differently, see a population in the world differently, but I was able to see myself differently, and I was able to go deeper into my own humanity.” (34:47-34:59 | Kayleigh)    Links Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Join our next book - The Diversity in Humanity https://form.typeform.com/to/nC4RkNmm Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

80 - How To Reflect on the Year With Intention - and Create Space for the Year Ahead

There's no better time to reset your intentions than the beginning of a new year. But in order to figure out your resolutions for 2023, you must first reflect back on everything that happened in 2022. Today, Kayleigh shares her 5 step process for reflecting on the year with intention.    Kayleigh's 5 step process can help you gracefully navigate a transition, determine your goals for the year, and change things about your life that are no longer serving you. The first step for reflecting on your year is to write down the categories that matter most to you in your life. These can be a wide range of things like travel, family, relationships, health, faith– really anything that you feel is important that you want to focus on. Next, free-write for 8 to 10 minutes about each category. Don't think too hard about this, just write anything that comes to mind. Third, take a step back and highlight any important, big things that happened during the year. Fourth, celebrate the journey. Even wins that feel small in the moment can have a huge impact on the bigger picture. The final step is to determine what you need to release from your life. This is a difficult, but pivotal step as it allows you to let go of everything that is not in alignment with your goals.    The new year provides a fantastic opportunity for reflection on the past year and intention setting for the year ahead. This time of collective pause can be a very useful chance to take a comprehensive look at all your accomplishments from 2022 and think about what you would like to achieve in 2023. It is also a great time to think about what you would like to let go and release yourself from. Tune into The Future is Human with host Kayleigh O'Keefe to learn more about the five step process and how it can help you prepare for the year ahead.    Quotes • “Writing is one of the primary ways that I find to be a valuable tool for taking advantage of this pause in order to just kind of do a State of the Union, what's working, what's not working, how are you feeling, things like that as you prepare for this year ahead.” (12:54-13:13 | Kayleigh) • “We're not often taught how to transition gracefully.” (13:58-14:01 | Kayleigh) • “Oftentimes to create more capacity we have to release. And so much of what we have to release is old stories, old patterns.” (14:12-14:23 | Kayleigh)  • “Why would you do this process? Well, one, you're going through a massive transition. Two, it's the new year and you're like, new goals. Who do I want to become? What do I need to do? Three, you don't like what's going on in your life, so you want some different things next year, you want a better relationship, you want your kids to behave better, you want to finally publish that book, you want to apply for that role that you've been like, am I good enough, these are some of the reasons why you take this time now to pause to reflect and to consider where you're going.” (15:57-16:28 | Kayleigh)  • “What's big could be something super small that shifted everything.” (22:17-22:21 | Kayleigh)   Links Publish with Soul Excellence - https://soulexcellence.com/ Join our next book - The Diversity in Humanity https://form.typeform.com/to/nC4RkNmm Take The Soul Excellence Archetype Quiz - https://www.tryinteract.com/share/quiz/5efdf00af2b37c00141cb60a   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

I want to be a servant leader; I want to do good, be good, and be of service to others.” (3:20-3:40) • “For me, I found out that servant leadership is what we really are. It's our true nature as human beings if we get our ego out of the way.” (5:04-5:16) • “We are not the control mechanism doing our lives. This is really key, because with servant leadership we think it's something we need to figure out and then do.  But it's the opposite. It's not only seeing I can transcend this ego thing, this deficit thing. It's also seeing: I'm not doing my life. I'm being lived. This body and this mind is here in this universe and this reality and it's being lived and I can let go and flow with that.” (12:20-13:01) • “You see very clearly that what is happening is what is supposed to be happening because nobody is controlling anything.” (17:50-17:55) • “We have to fire our minds from the position of CEO. We've made the mind the CEO of everything. We think everything can be solved by using thinking or knowledge or the mind. And that's not true, because our actual nature is more the heart or intuition or being in service, whatever name you give it, awareness, being. That's also and maybe even more what we are than the mind. Because the mind appears to us. Thoughts appear to us and we don't control them.” (31:44-32:27)   Links  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/katrijnvo/  Website: https://katrijnvanoudheusden.com/    Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/ Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   On August 23, 2015, Sarah Alaimo had a spiritual awakening. She didn't know why or how, but she did know that moving forward her life was going to be different. For the first time, she said out loud, “I'm an alcoholic, and I don't have to drink anymore.” Since then, Sarah has stepped wholeheartedly into radical change. She wrote a book titled Pearls & Probation: Adventures of an Alcoholic Good Girl, met her husband at a recovery retreat and became a career happiness coach   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • Sarah's acceptance of the “alcoholic” label • Sarah's experience publishing a vulnerable story • The importance of the writer-editor relationship • How Sarah found creative ways to promote other women-owned businesses during her book launch • And why we must be open to ourselves in order to attract what we most need in life!   Quotes • “So often when someone thinks of someone who is an alcoholic...they think of someone homeless, under a bridge, with a bottle and a bag….But I really wanted to play up the image of who I am just to show that it can look a lot of different ways, and it's not a bad thing. It's just something we get to experience in life and learn from.” (07:08-07:44 | Sarah Alaimo) • “My recovery journey started at age 25, and I remember going into the rooms, and I had all of those perceptions, too, about what it meant to be an alcoholic. And I was really lucky...I went to a meeting where I was surrounded by 50% women, and they were all young working professionals like myself.” (08:14-08:35 | Kayleigh O'Keefe) • “I think initially I had a really hard time putting that label on [my alcoholism]...but as I've done the work and really gotten to the heart of things, it's no longer about the alcohol. That was just a symptom of the other things that I really needed to work on, and it's given me this amazing life.” (10:56-11:26 | Sarah Alaimo) • “Anything else where I ended up being more vulnerable or needing to add more was from my editor. I think there's just such a special relationship between an author and an editor. I didn't know that before this time.” (20:20-20:34 | Sarah Alaimo) • “Between having a pandemic wedding and a pandemic launch party, I kind of had to learn to let go.” (26:46-26:52 | Sarah Alaimo) • “You're really taking me back to the end of that first year of sobriety and suddenly the world opened up and the possibilities seemed endless.” (33:21-33:35 | Kayleigh O'Keefe) • “It was okay for me to focus on what made me happy. That's when I started to feel successful.” (40:04-40:08 | Sarah Alaimo)   Links  https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahdalaimo  www.sarahalaimo.com  Instagram: @sarahdianealaimo   Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/  Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   Sarah is the mastermind behind the Humane Marketing movement, which brings a gentler and more human approach to the marketing world. Sarah explains that most marketing techniques encourage potential customers to buy out of fear and shame. And while this approach may draw in clients in the short-term, these customers probably aren't the ones who will really benefit from your product. Sarah tells listeners that entrepreneurs must first figure out who they are in order to truly resonate with their ideal audience.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • Marketing with intention and integrity • The NEW 7 Ps of Marketing • The value in addressing your target audience as a competent customer • And how to rumble, rise and resonate in order to achieve your version of success!   Quotes • “About four years ago, I had this breakdown that led to a breakthrough, like they often do, and realized something's broken because I'm not showing up as a whole human being.” (05:14-05:28) • “There are all of these entrepreneurs who are just using [hype marketing techniques] because that's the only thing that's out there. We feel like that's how it works if you want to build an online business….And so, you kind of get into this trap of really doing things that don't feel right.” (12:28-12:50) • “Are you empowering your clients to make that decision? Are you giving them all of the tools and the information that they need to make that decision? Or, on the other hand, are you disempowering them? Are you hiding information that they would actually need?” (15:19-15:35) • “The gurus are sick of being gurus. We don't want to be the gurus anymore. We don't want to show up and do the dog and pony show every time. We want people to work with us and co-create and use collective intelligence and do things together.” (21:11-21:30) • “Have you done that inner work? Do you know who you are? Are you grounded? Have you done your money work? All of that, it's part of the journey of a humane marketer.” (28:14-28:28) • “It's really important to figure out who you are so that you then resonate with your ideal clients.” (35:24-35:27)   Links  www.humane.marketing www.sarahsantacroce.com https://www.linkedin.com/in/sarahsantacroce/   Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/ Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Are you a leader who's getting ready to publish a book? Are you experiencing feelings of fear or apprehension as you prepare to have your story hit the shelves?   After having her work published in 5 different books in under 12 months, host Kayleigh O'Keefe has faced this fear several times over. As a result, she has gained some powerful insights to help the authors she works with overcome their trepidation and publish their stories with confidence. Her number one suggestion to listeners is to ask yourself: What is the worst that could happen? And after that: How likely is that worst case scenario? By intentionally reflecting on our worst fears, it becomes much easier to rationalize and minimize them.   In this solo episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show, Kayleigh shares her top three tips for moving through the fear of getting published. Tune in to learn more about how celebration, health optimization and intentional reflection can help you successfully navigate the fear of sharing your story.   Quotes • “Becoming a published author seemed super scary. Not just the process of writing and what is it that I want to say, but of course the process of actually getting a  book into the world and then being seen and being heard by others.” (4:54-5:10) • “How likely do you think it is that your worst case scenario is going to come true? For the most part, when I walk through this specific exercise with the executive and entrepreneurs that I work with, we realize that our fears are often way out of proportion to what's most probable in reality.” (12:19-12:38) • “The most important advice that I give to my authors when we publish a multi-author book is to set up celebration in advance.” (14:00-14:08) • “Optimizing your health is so important to stabilize your body, your emotions, your energy, so that on launch day, if it's great, you're amped up and you can amplify that feeling, and if it's not so great, your body's in a good place and has turned off some the typical stress responses.” (18:08-18:28) • “Days before your launch, ask yourself, ‘How have I grown? How have I changed? How has my perspective shifted since writing my chapter?' I believe that we become someone different every time that we write, especially in writing a book, which requires focused thought, focused attention, tapping into our heart, tapping into our connection.”  (22:17-22:45)   Links The Younger Self Letters: https://www.amazon.com/Younger-Self-Letters-Successful-Entrepreneurs/dp/1737322218   Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/  Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   While the word “authenticity” has been dominating conversations about leadership in just about every industry these days, it is often unclear what authenticity really means. How do we sift through all of the media hype about authentic leadership and move towards embracing our truest selves?   On this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show, Anja Bjerlin, Mindset Coach for Young Women with Big Dreams, will help us answer this very question. Tune in to learn more about: • Anja's definition of authenticity • How to get in tune with your intuition • What happens when we take radical responsibility for our own journeys • And why learning to love yourself is the first step towards leading and living authentically!   Quotes • “My whole younger life I was really depressed, and I did go against myself in a lot of ways. I finally got some help, and I went to therapy for three years where I figured out that I really need to take responsibility for myself and be honest about who I am and what I want to do.” (4:25-4:51) • “I didn't have many role models from the people around me or my parents. I didn't want to have the work or do life like they did it. So when I found these people that lived and were so happy and content and just were themselves, I felt like ok, that's something that I could do and be happy with.” (8:58-9:21) • “[When you're authentic,] you get to connect with people on another level. You get to bring out other people's authenticity because they feel safe with being themselves around you. When people see that you just tell it like it is...it's not about others agreeing but just telling this is what I say, this is what I feel, and people can bring up their feelings and their thoughts, and they don't have to be the same.” (13:22-13:53) • “I have to go through stuff, and we all have to go through stuff, but we can get through it if we just stay committed to love and to taking care of ourselves.” (21:07-21:18) • “It all starts with you and starts with daring to be yourself. I believe if we all could do that we would also be more accepting of others because I believe when we are not nice to others it's because we aren't nice to ourselves. Starting with accepting yourself is the most important thing.” (29:49-30:15)   Links  https://anjabjerlin.com/coaching  https://anjabjerlin.com  https://www.instagram.com/anja.bjerlin/   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCH5P6BOpyLykdHllpLb9TLg    Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/ Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   Have you ever wondered about the differences between goal setting and manifesting? Certified Moonologer and Moon Manifestation Coach Tracey Rampling Brown explains that goal setting often involves a purely masculine-focused energy and completely ignores the more feminine aspects of alignment, intuition and willingness to change. While manifestation certainly incorporates some of the same aspirational aspects of goal setting, it first and foremost requires the belief that we can achieve and are deserving of the goals we set for ourselves.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • What moonology is and who can most benefit from it • Forgiveness and gratitude, the pillars of manifestation • The difference between a spiritual awakening and spiritual bypassing • The transformational power of shadow work • And why manifestation will help you magnetize your soul tribe!   Quotes • “Moonology is really the study of the moon cycles and how we can manifest and harness our own energetics by using the energies of the moon cycle to uplevel our manifestation.” (3:36-3:53) • “Let's face it – many of us when we start our personal development journeys, we are bootstrapping it until we suddenly realize that we can get help for that. There are people that can make our journey easier because they've already done the things that we're doing.” (20:30-20:46) • “The thing that is really missing from [goal setting] is that the traditional paradigm of goal setting is very masculine energy focused….And that doesn't really allow for the feminine energies of alignment and intuition and evolution and shifting and changing to come in.” (22:20-23:15) • “You can set as many goals as you want, but if you don't believe that you can have them, you will not manifest those things or what will happen is you put out those conflicting messages to the universe.” (23:23-23:38) • “When you're really sitting in those feelings of lack and scarcity and nothing good ever happens to me...you're actually closing yourself off to seeing the good things around you. So when you start really letting that gratitude in and raising your frequency, you are expanding, you're becoming expansive, and so many things then start to click into place.” (29:48-30:32) • “When we are 100% fully and authentically in alignment with exactly who we are, the unique people that we attract to us are our soul tribe because we are resonating on the same frequency as them, and we're attracting them because they accept us fully as we are, and we accept them fully as they are, and there is no expectation of being different than how we turn up.” (56:01-56:28)   Links  Website: www.vibrantcoach.com   Facebook: www.facebook.com/vibrantcoach  Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/empoweredwomenrisetogether  Instagram: www.instagram.com/vibrantcoach  Linkedin: www.linkedin.com/in/tracey-rampling-brown    Book a moon reading and use the code KAYLEIGH for a 10% discount: https://www.vibrantcoach.com/moonology/    Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/  Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

As a result, they are often overly focused on completing a list of societal “shoulds,” while their own goals and dreams get put on the back burner. Claire tells listeners that the key is putting aside those things that feel like burdensome loads, so you can identify the activities that make you feel light. It is in this buoyant energetic space where we thrive most.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • The ins and outs of being an empath • The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) • The importance of following your gut instincts • Why the universe provides you with what you need to learn most • And why embracing your divine feminine energy could be the key to unlocking your corporate leadership potential!   Quotes • “It's a gift that I don't think of ‘how' until I'm halfway through it. It has sent me down some no entry roads...but even those have been great learning experiences that I can actually take on and use in the future.” (14:14-14:34) • “I set up the business from the philosophy, ‘Teach what you most need to learn.' And of course, the universe then sent me all of these women that were running great businesses...but they felt like they were failing within their personal lives. And when we got to the nitty gritty of it with EFT, it always came down to confidence. They were confident when they were in their work role, they were confident when they were in their wife role, they were confident when they were in their mother role, but as women in their own right, they didn't know who they were.” (15:12-16:06) • “There's such a divide [in the world], and yet if we can unite and function and work together, bring the beauty of the divine feminine and the beauty of the divine masculine rather than competing, we can achieve and accomplish so much in such a short period of time.” (23:13-23:32) • “The more people become introspective, the more they touch base with themselves, their needs, their wants, their desires and take responsibility for it, the less control you have over somebody.” (30:36-30:52) • “If it feels light, it is right.” (32:44-32:47) • “The intuition within a woman – the Divine Feminine – is so powerful. And with that power you can then assist the Divine Masculine. But, of course, we've been taught to ignore that.” (36:55-37:08)   Links https://claireatyeo.com/  https://www.facebook.com/ClaireAtyeo.Athena  https://www.instagram.com/claireatyeo.athena/  https://www.linkedin.com/in/claireatyeo/  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYmhXY--5CkDDnR3UIn4MRQ  Free Self-Care Coaching Workbook: https://claireatyeo.com/sign-up/    Get published with Soul Excellence Publishing: https://soulexcellencepublishing.com/ Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing     Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Are you trying to decide whether to stay in corporate, branch out on your own, or maybe even find a balance between the two?    The much-needed pause that the past year provided has given many of us the opportunity to reflect on and redirect our lives, careers, and goals. This has been an especially rewarding experience for us introverts, who can often feel like we're playing catch up in a fast-paced, extroverted world. If you are an introvert yearning for change post-COVID, but you're not quite sure where to start, this week's episode is for you!   Tune into today's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe show for a sneak peek into Kayleigh's Master Class with Patience Ogunbona about the many types of personalities that can fall beneath the umbrella of introversion. Learn about the “a-ha” moment when Kayleigh learned what type of introvert she was and why appreciation, attunement and authenticity are crucial if you're an introvert looking to achieve that next level of personal growth.   Quotes • “Am I living the life that I'm meant to live or am I living some version that felt acceptable and laudable at the time but no longer holds true to what my heart desires?” (5:20-5:30) • “Take the quiz and then you'll start to get some insight and say, ‘Hm, ok, how does someone like me really thrive? And how do I work with who I am naturally and not against who I am naturally?'” (13:10-13:23) • “Introversion and the power to observe and to pause and reflect: this is a massive super power. And this past year has shown us that the ability to not react constantly, but to pause, to reflect, to respond, to tap into our intuition, to allow our minds the space to explore – this is super powerful.” (15:05-15:30) • “As introverts, we spend a lot of time in our inner world, and if you're an introvert in corporate, you spend a lot of time in the thinking world. It's natural. However, for me, doing breathwork...has been invaluable to dial down the thoughts and amp up the heart frequency.” (17:42-18:02) • “We have to come back to our authentic selves. Based on decades' worth of knowledge about how the world works and why, Nate's book presents readers with eight core concepts that they must master in order to derive true meaning from life. Nate explains that his book does not tell readers how to live, but rather provides them with the tools they need to achieve a purposeful and fulfilling existence.    Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • Growth, meaning and contrarian insights • Nate's infallible equation for emotional state • How humans have started to hack empathy • And why the art of caring is a crucial step towards finding joy!   Quotes • “There is always going to be something else. That's why growth is the point because growth is forever….Life is a journey not a destination. The reason why they say that is because the point of life is growth and that point never ends. There is no finality to it. You will die, but your children will carry on and so forth.” (15:34-15:50) • “The meaning of life is not to live ethically per se. You should live ethically, but it's not to find the right set of ethics. There isn't this magical set of ethics that if I followed these I'd be the perfect human being.” (21:43-21:55) • “Emotions are not the meaning of life, they are the indicator of growth….Indicators can be hacked. That's why happiness is not the point because...you can do all of these things to hack your emotions, and it has nothing to do with whether you're actually growing and thriving or being harmed.” (30:00-31:03) • “Identify growth opportunities that are significant to you...then identify experiences that can help you grow in those areas….If you already have the desire for it, great go do it. But if you don't, build the desire for things that you like….Build belief that your growth areas are possible to get better at….Use your emotions to give you feedback….Make sure you figure out the best way to do something, the right way to do it….Go get help, also give help….Make good choices every day. Just decide that you're going to continue to grow and improve in those areas.” (51:09-54:36) • “I always found that I couldn't do something well unless I cared. So, even if I was doing the most meaningless task in the world, in order for me to do a good job, I'd have to care. So I learned to increase my caring for things.” (58:04-58:22)   Links https://yourmeaninginlife.com/  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082RHWM63/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0    Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Welcome to The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   “A mission statement is worthless if you're not living it,” says Michael Alleruzzo, Professor of Management and Executive Coach. Michael learned early on in his career that people will always work for themselves first and others second. Even though, as a leader, you might want to gain the loyalty of your employees, this is a nearly impossible feat if you're not creating a company culture and vision that you yourself can authentically stand behind.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • The importance of self-reliance • Why Michael pushes his students to read and actively reflect • How to become more self-aware • Why company culture is the first thing Michael addresses when consulting • And why being honest with yourself is an essential step towards becoming an authentic leader!    Quotes • “There are two critical questions I think that...anyone, whether you want to be a leader or not, has to ask him or herself at all times from a professional standpoint. One is, ‘Do I get to be natural? Am I me? Do I get to be authentic? Do I feel like myself when I'm at work?' And the second one is, ‘Is it working? Am I successful? Is it working for me? Is it working for my stakeholders?'” (4:20-4:48) • “The number one lesson I learned was a painful one: people work for themselves first and everything else second.” (10:26-10:33) • “I think if we trained students to be active and involved and when they have a question to ask the question immediately in first grade at six or seven years old, by the time they got to me, they'd be doing it all the time, but we don't train them to do it. And so I think if we did more of that, the active part of learning vs. the passive part of absorbing would happen. (23:40-24:12) • “People are allowed to disagree. Rational, reasonable, logical people are allowed to disagree. And if you can disagree with someone but you have a rational, reasonable, logical rationale for it, we can learn from each other, we can agree to disagree, we can be ok with it. Just know that.” (28:48-29:05) • “Employees want to be part of the organization's strategy, want to be part of the organization's decision making, they want a voice...they want a vote. And so, they want to hear from their organization's top leadership about where do we stand, and we want to hear you speak out against these atrocities, and we want to know that you're on the right side of this.” (49:40-50:05) • “One of the things I tell students is whatever you do, whether you speak up or not, be prepared for some criticism. Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   On this episode, host Kayleigh O'Keefe reflects on the Atlanta spa shootings that occurred this past March. She touches on this event as a gateway into exploring her broader observations about the ways mainstream media can shape our understanding of the world around us, oftentimes in highly subjective ways.   Tune into this week's episode to learn more about the distinction between reacting and responding (and why responding is usually the more productive approach), the complex dynamics behind what stories are told on a national level, and why motive tends to take a backseat in media narratives.   Most importantly, Kayleigh encourages listeners to take a more conscious approach towards analyzing headline news because intention matters, even if the media often suggests otherwise.   Quotes • “It's important for me to be responsive and not reactive. It's something that I'm working on, I think it's for all of us a lifelong journey. But I say responsive because I'm sharing these thoughts now well after the fact. I've had some more time to process, to observe, to notice what's going on. And so, I can come to you today from a place that feels a bit more detached. And not detached as in unemotional, but detached as in a bit more objective and also detached from the outcome of me sharing this perspective or these ideas with you.” (3:23-3:59) • “This is something that really concerns me is the fact that, even if someone says their motive, it's not taken seriously and it's...dismissed and/or it is simply...shown to be an example of what some party wants the motive to be, oftentimes for their own political gain.” (11:50-12:16) • “Millions of different incidents happen in the US – altercations, conflicts, murders, crashes – and the ones that we are shown, we are shown for a reason. We are shown because they fit a specific narrative, and these narratives are largely pre-scripted...by those in power, who, if you're in power, your main desire (spoiler alert!) is not often to ‘serve the people,' it is to maintain a position of power.” (12:47-13:21) • “So what do you believe? Do you believe intent matters? Do you believe your intention matters? Do you believe motive matters? Because I can guarantee you that the vast majority of society that's not thinking super critically about these issues, when they hear Pulse Nightclub, they think ‘homophobic attack;' when they hear Atlanta shooting, they now think ‘Asian attack;' when they hear George Floyd, they now think of police brutality and racism. So what do you think about the importance of intent, and how do you think we should respond to what I feel are still quite local stories at the national level?” (19:09-19:45)   Links Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/ Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

56 - The Mission of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show: Expression as Soul Medicine

Since its inception, The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show Podcast has undergone several shifts. What began as a way for host Kayleigh O'Keefe to simply share her reflections and ideas has since become a platform for her to interview guests about their corporate and entrepreneurial journeys.   However, while Kayleigh is incredibly excited about all of the guests she has queued up for the coming months, she has also recognized a need within herself to return to the podcast's roots. Expression is Kayleigh's soul medicine, and without expression, she finds herself falling back into old patterns of behavior that no longer serve her.   Tune into this episode of the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more in depth about the origins of this podcast and Kayleigh's intentions for the show moving forward! We are all seeking to learn, understand and grow, and this podcast aims to serve and support you on that journey.   Quotes • “If you can believe it, I started the podcast 16 months ago in January of 2020 from the living room closet in my apartment in downtown San Francisco.” (2:28-2:46) • “Excellence, wisdom, truth, joy: these are the guiding virtues, the things I want to call forth in myself, and I view the podcast as a way to do that.”  (4:51-5:10) • “For me, the podcast is simply a form of expression. And maybe in that way, it is tied to the business….Especially when I get to come on here solo and just speak from the heart, maybe what it is modeling is expression. Maybe it is modeling finding your voice. Maybe I am out here, through this podcast, sharing what it's like to observe the world, to observe the inner world, to have that circulate through your emotions and through your thoughts and to come out in the form of a perspective.” (7:10-7:48) • “Expression is my soul medicine. And what that means is that when I do not express, whether it's just a comment in the moment, a deeper opinion or perspective, it is really bad for my soul. It is bad for my soul excellence...but I tend to not notice it right away.” (8:43-9:10) • “One of my superpowers is to observe and respond. I've always been someone who's fairly conscientious, who's aware of their surroundings and sensing, ‘Ok, is this a place where I need to step up and lead, or step up and follow, or step up and serve?'” (14:18-14:36)   Links Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

55 - How to Thrive Within Corporate Through Energy Alignment with Mary Gooden, Founder of Yoga Etc. & Divine Destiny Publishing

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 3, 2021 56:45

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   You can't be in corporate AND be in alignment...right? According to Mary Gooden, Founder of Yoga Etc. and Divine Destiny Publishing, you absolutely can be! Mary's three key tips for her clients are to: (1) get in tune with their deservability, (2) learn to distinguish between reality and illusion, and (3) invite freedom into their lives. Ultimately, living happily and healthily comes down to inner peace, and once you have found that, you can achieve alignment no matter what career path you have chosen to pursue.    Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • The highlights and lowlights of Mary's entrepreneurial journey • The difference between deservability and entitlement • The importance of space and place when it comes to achieving inner clarity • Why alignment is achievable for everyone, no matter where you work or who you are!   Quotes • “The most profound piece of playing both sides or coming into alignment of where I am is attuning to higher self really. The magic in that is still the same three things that I really highlight for clients: getting in tune with my deservability, getting in line with what is reality and what is illusion, and the third, of course, is always the invitation of freedom.” (14:35-15:12) • “The illusion piece is letting go of the limiting beliefs that tell you that you can't like corporate. You can't like corporate and be in alignment...can you? Of course you can! It's an inner peace. I love corporate, and I'm aligned.” (16:36-16:50) • “I'm stepping out into my day aligned with who I am, and it's less likely that things are going to shake me. So it's less likely that I'm going to get to the middle of my day and get up in arms about a couple of meetings that got rescheduled because I took that time for myself in the morning. I connected with who I was. I connected with who I'm supposed to be….Whatever I'm feeling energetically is what's going to show up in front of me.” (17:55-18:37) • “Deservability is a piece where I feel like I can make my own choices and feel like I can take myself into a place of comfort. I feel like I am able and worthy enough to receive because we go through that, too, even when we're climbing the corporate ladder. ‘Maybe I'm not asking for enough, right? Because I don't deserve it.'” (21:00-21:27) • “All your experiences are showing up for you to inspire someone else. And so if it feels dirty or down...just remind yourself: this is going to later be my testimony. This is later my inspiration to somebody that's going to be coming into my life that's going to need to know this or hear it from me or see how I got through it.” (30:34-31:02) • “When you're serving divinely in your mission, and I mean open to receive (deservability), no illusions, freedom in abundance is my birthright, the revenue goal is infinite.” (35:06-35:25) • “Write down the places you desire to go because there's something bigger in you that's asking for this. There's something bigger in you that is asking you to see things, to do things, to adventure and to experience. Your desires are valid, and you can have any of them that you want. Give yourself that.” (48:09-48:38)   Links Website: www.yogaetcboutte.com  Email: yogaetc.boutte@yahoo.com  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/mary.s.gooden  Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMIm_7kmeQuVhGD-QcqAyXQ?view_as=subscriber   Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/  Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Welcome to the Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   “If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together,” says Linda Fisk, CEO of LeadHERship Global. This African proverb speaks to one of the primary reasons Linda created LeadHERship Global, a community of unstoppable women that gives every member the support she needs to be heard, vulnerable and authentically herself.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • Why grit and grace are key attributes of any unstoppable woman  • Why co-creation is more effective than going at it alone • Why kindness is crucial in any setting • And why being a lifelong learner will always pay off!   Quotes • “LeadHERship Global is a confidential, supportive community that's really designed to accelerate the success of every single individual member of LeadHERship Global by integrating self-directed learning, impactful group experiences, peer advisory services, and then, of course, expert-led coaching and mentoring. We believe that that is an incredible recipe for success and really helps enhance the leadership blueprint of unstoppable women around the world. It really helps them embrace their power to be the very best versions of themselves in work as well as in life.” (4:09-4:51) • “Women join LeadHERship Global to be challenged, to grow, to advance, and also to connect. To connect with other like-minded leaders where they get to be truly vulnerable and really authentic.” (7:20-7:33) • “There is incredible power in this idea of partnership and this idea of partnership that's based on mutual respect formed by extending trust. And it comes from a fundamental awareness of the key relationships in your life. Literally every relationship in your life can be seen as a potential partner rather than just a transaction.” (14:59-15:22) • “There's an old African proverb...which is, ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. But if you want to go far, go together.' And that is absolutely true. True partnership is about identifying the shared value that each partner brings and then leveraging the combined strengths of those partners to achieve a level of impact that could never be accomplished independently.” (17:41-18:08) • “Using that area of influence or power that I was given to lift others up and support others has been absolutely probably my most important legacy and the thing that I'm most proud of.” (22:04-22:19) • “Beyond the value that you bring to work, beyond the kind of job that you do, beyond your competence, what really matters is your kindness because that is what changes everything. It changes cultures, it changes relationships, it changes partnerships, it changes the very fabric of the business itself if you operate with an incredible sense of kindness meaning that you're more interested in serving others than being served.” (26:14-26:48) • “No matter what the goal is, no matter what the long-term objective is, no matter how much grit you have, people are going to face setbacks. They're going to face mistakes, missteps, along the way, and that's where grace comes in. And I believe that true grace...is based on lessons that are often learned through experiencing the result of failure.” (37:24-37:47)   Links https://leadhershipglobal.com/ Email: linda@leadhershipglobal.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lindafisk/    Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/ Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing Apply to Soul Excellence Publishing's next multi-author leadership book: https://kayleighokeefe.typeform.com/to/BYpLilNc   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

And I think not enough people allow themselves to explore that, and that's why we have people who don't know themselves in adulthood.” (8:47-8:58) • “I've never lived in a time where I was a little afraid to share my truest opinion. And what I think is important for us to remember is your story and your voice matters, but this is not a time to degrade someone else's opinion, this is not a time to put someone else down.” (15:01-15:18) • “Society doesn't feel balanced. It doesn't have the component of uniqueness amongst everyone, which has made businesses, organizations, communities thrive.” (17:54-18:07) • “We have these puzzle pieces and these breadcrumbs that we experience, and it's only in reverse when it all makes sense.” (23:21-23:29) • “We need empowering stories of phoenix rising from the ashes, of shifting out of victimhood, of personal responsibility, of reminding us that we are powerful because a lot of organizations who have money incentive profit off of you not being powerful.” (29:44-30:02)   Links www.bridgetaileen.com www.instagram.com/blissfulbridget   https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJRo62svMLnAo-hVauIiNnA  www.facebook.com/groups/rockthemiconline  https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-gathering-mvmt/id1546684870   Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/ Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing Apply to Soul Excellence Publishing's next multi-author leadership book: https://kayleighokeefe.typeform.com/to/BYpLilNc   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Michelle explains that as an Age Alchemist, she works with women around how to enjoy the aging process and truly embrace the needs of their bodies as they grow older. As an Integrative Biohacker, Michelle combines the innovations of Western science with the tools of Eastern medicine to help women live more fulfilling and vibrant lives.   Tune into this week's episode for a conversation about enjoying the aging process and living your most vibrant life. Learn about the benefits of intermittent fasting, the health risks of birth control pills, and why medical diagnoses often leave much to be desired. Discover how you can age timelessly by purposefully listening to what your body is trying to tell you.   Quotes • “When I say age alchemist, what I really do is I work with women around aging and hormones and how to really number one: enjoy the aging process, number two: really understand what the female body...and the female hormonal system does, particularly between the ages of 38 and 52. It's a massively expansive time for women, even though sometimes it's like the decade that feels like it lasts a lifetime for a lot of women.” (4:22-4:52) • “The aging process, which most women are trying to defy or turn back or flip the switch...all that terminology kind of implies to us that we have to stay young, look younger than our years. And I actually completely disagree with that.” (5:07-5:24) • “I aspire to calibrate to that energy – the energy of not feeling like I have to live in another time and space to actually fit into my life or to fit into the world.” (5:44-5:58) • “When I say integrative biohacker, I basically combine both worlds: the world of cutting-edge Western science that women have available to them that the don't necessarily understand or know how to use and then the means of using herbs, using really targeted breath work, really specific lifestyle hacks that move the needle tremendously if one commits to them in frequency.” (12:17-12:46) • “When a woman learns how to lead herself through both the good and the bad, that's true mastery, right? Like that's radical responsibility and hormone mastery.” (18:29-18:39) • “I know that souls line up for the human experience. It's an exciting journey to jump into the body and have this experience where we get to touch things, and we get to feel pleasure, and we get to watch children grow up, and we get to experience hair and skin and warmth and cold, like the physical things of being human.” (44:58-45:20)   Links www.michelleaspinwall.com Instagram: @michellepaspinwall https://www.facebook.com/groups/midlifeperimenopause   Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/ Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

Welcome to The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show!   Virginia Schmidt experienced a rebirth smack dab in the middle of COVID. When the pandemic hit in full force, Virginia was in Guatemala learning Spanish and had been living with her host family for all of three weeks. Although all of the other students at her program decided to return home when borders began to close, Virginia followed her heart and stayed put.   Tune into this week's episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about: • The complexities of codependency • The difference between writing with passion and writing from the heart • The intellectual/imaginative brain vs. the rhythmic brain • What it means to live a truly authentic life!   Quotes • “It was actually one day when I was meditating that I had this, just out nowhere….out of the dark, out of the silence, just the phrase, ‘Youtube videos.'” (14:03-14:19) • “Imperfect action is better than perfect inaction.” (18:44-18:49) • “[The codependency class] was sort of the beginning of that opening of awareness where I realized that, again, even though I had this sort of sheen of like, ‘I get my self-love from myself, I believe in myself, I'm so independent,' that in fact, I really was really codependent on getting my validation from others in my life.” (28:32-28:58) • “This kind of alone time that I spent [in Guatemala], it was like suddenly I was able to pick myself up from my own life, and when I looked over the landscape of it, I was like, ‘I have been really codependent.'” (30:25-30:39) • “Well, what do you actually want? Like who are you? Like we get it Virginia, that you can go adapt to and be good at any situation that you get put into, like that's awesome. What would happen, though, if you were good at a situation that you created for yourself instead of one where you make sure that whoever it is you've attached yourself to is gonna feel comfortable with you?” (34:55-35:20) • “The takeaway is to become the subject of our own heart's desire. And that's the difference between...writing something that I think other people are going to like versus digging deep down and seeing like, ‘What is it that my heart actually has to say?'” (40:35-40:56) • “There are times when we need to use...the computer that is our brain, but honestly most of the time we can be in more of a rhythmic state that I think connects us to whatever pulse or rhythm or heartbeat is behind this whole life experience thing.” (53:42-54:07)   Links https://www.divinityranch.com/ Instagram: @beinvirginia, @divinityranch https://youtube.com/channel/UCebyYJCeaZGadHF2XzStFHw   Visit Kayleigh's website: https://kayleighokeefe.com/ Schedule an Author Discovery Call: https://calendly.com/kayleigh-okeefe/solo-book-writing-publishing   Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing

“In the worst of humanity, you see the best of humanity,” explains Chris Kocher, Executive Director of COVID Survivors for Change. Before the pandemic began, Chris was working as the Director of the Everytown Survivor Network, organizing trainings and support groups that empowered survivors of gun violence to share their stories and promote meaningful change. After COVID hit in full force last spring, Chris saw several natural connections emerge between gun violence survivors and those impacted by the pandemic. Most notably, he observed that, due to social distancing measures, the vast majority of individuals who have lost loved ones to COVID have not been afforded the support systems and closure that most people expect after someone passes. As a result, Chris decided to create COVID Survivors for Change, a nationwide community of people who have been directly impacted by the current pandemic. ~ Ian Horowitz is one of these individuals. His father passed away from COVID at a VA nursing home in Pennsylvania that was alarmingly negligent towards its residents. Between the months of April 2020 and May 2020, 66 residents died in the facility. After speaking with countless staff members from the home, Ian learned that management was blatantly disregarding CDC guidelines, refusing to provide PPE to its residents or workers, not allowing residents to leave the facility when they needed medical attention, and sweeping COVID-related deaths under the rug. Ian not only spoke up himself, but also encouraged the staff members he was in contact with to speak up. Ian explains that after months of contacting government officials about the issue, several higher ups at the home were either fired, demoted, or reassigned. While these results were rewarding, Ian and his family have yet to hold a funeral for his father. ~ Join us for this poignant and eye-opening episode of The Kayleigh O'Keefe Show to learn more about the work Chris and Ian have been doing to support individuals and families impacted by the pandemic. On our first ever dual-interview episode, host Kayleigh O'Keefe explores just how much can change in a matter of months when a crisis arises. Although the world has witnessed plenty of disheartening events in the past year, Chris and Ian's work shows that good can still prevail when people come together to share their support and their stories. Quotes• “I've always been outspoken. I've always stood for fighting for different rights...I've always learned at an early age, you speak out. If you want change in this country, you must speak out. And I started encouraging others to just not be quiet.” (11:22-11:40) • “They weren't handing out PPE, they weren't giving facemasks. And eventually, on April 24, my dad called me and said, ‘A bunch of people in Hazmat suits just came into the room to remove Ed.' And at that point, he was pretty much turning blue….I remember talking to the ER doctor the night my dad actually went into the hospital. He had said to me, ‘I remember Ed Bush, and I was shocked at the condition that he came in here.' And this is something that you would never think a doctor is really supposed to say, but they were so traumatized by what was going on, that this facility most of the time was not allowing residents to leave and go to a hospital. And in the month of April, 49 residents died.” (16:12-7:13) • “You spend your whole life thinking that when you lose someone it's going to look a certain way, and you're going to have certain supports….I had just gone through it with my father, but I had been able to say goodbye. It happened pretty suddenly, but it wasn't on that same timeline that so many people lost loved ones with COVID. So there were a whole bunch of things that I was able to count on – being with family and friends and hugging people – all these things that I was able to count on in my loss that suddenly millions of Americans were not able to have access to.” (23:30-24:03) • “My frustration is...a lot of our legislative officials in different states are trying to find past laws to grant immunity to these nursing homes and these VAs. And they grant immunity for management from being held accountable and being prosecuted. Where's the advocating for the elderly? Where's the advocating for the veterans?” (37:45-38:11) • “That to me is not just an unprecedented virus causing all of these things to happen. That's just total mismanagement, that's negligence, and that's breaking the law. It's murder is what this was.”  (40:10-40:25) • “The things that people have done to not just remember their loved one, but to invite others into that space….To do something that started with, ‘I want to remember my loved one,' but then grows into something where you're helping hundreds and hundreds of families have their loved ones remembered is incredibly, incredibly heartbreaking, but heartwarming and also powerful and inspiring.” (45:17-45:40) • “Choosing love means celebrating happiness and also celebrating heartbreak and giving people the space to have both.” (51:08 -51:16) ~Linkshttps://www.linkedin.com/in/ianhorowitz/  www.covidsurvivorsforchange.org Twitter: @survivorschange, @chrisjkocher Check out Kayleigh's leadership books: https://kayleighokeefe.com/leadership-books/  Join The Significant Leader Summit May 11 - May 15: https://kayleighokeefe.com/significantleaderssummit/  Podcast production and show notes provided by FIRESIDE Marketing
