On Thursday August 27th, the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a newly discovered lost chapter from the Book of Shamgar which describes how the Purple Dragon and the Prophet Bezek found the Stone Pillar of Jacob upon which was inscribed Father Abraham's Book of Creation (the Sepher Yetzirah). After fighting off bandits and the spells of a witch they brought the sacred stone back to the Tabernacle to take its rightful place beside the Ark of the Covenant and ensure Shamgar his election as Judge for the Tribe of Judah. This controversial document suggests that the Jewish tradition of Abraham's authorship of the Sepher Yetzirah is correct and it also implies that he was the originator of the alphabet. So if you like ancient mysteries tune in and we'll open the 32 gates wisdom.

On Thursday July 20th,2017 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present the dramatic conclusion of Shamgar, the Purple Dragon by Poke Runyon. The first part of this Biblical adventure was aired on September 4th, 2014's Hermetic Hour and has remained unfinished until the original manuscript was rediscovered. Now we can complete this Cecil B. DeMillish Biblical epic from the Book of Judges. Shamgar's saga recounts how a Phoenician Pirate who claimed to be descended from Pagan Gods, becomes a Judge of Israel and battles the Philistines, slaying them with an ox goad years before Samson used the jawbone of ass. Shamgar almost becomes Israel's first King but his magical ox goad is passed down to a future contender at the beginning of the common era. So if you want to enjoy the Old Testament from a Canaanite perspective, tune in and join us as Shamgar rides again.
Raised in Berlin, Charlene Mosley is an Oscar-nominated, San Diego- based fine artist, illustrator, concept artist and muralist. She received her BA in Studio Arts from San Diego State University with a minor in German Studies. Charlene's current work portrays figures and faces of various backgrounds immersed in organic natural elements such as plants and animals. She uses vibrant expressive brushstrokes to bring the paintings to life mainly in oils, watercolors, ink and gouache. She has recently started exploring miniature scenery paintings of her travels as well. Her work expresses her observations of current matters and experiences living in a 21st century media driven society and its relationship to nature. In 2016, Mosley was one of the contributing artists of “Loving Vincent“, the first ever fully-painted, Oscar-Nominated feature film. This opportunity was the artist's first time working in animation in Poland. Creating over 250 frames of the film while in Poland “was life changing in a way, and a motivation to keep pursuing my passion as an independent artist”, notes Mosley. During the promotional touring and award ceremonies following the films debut in the US, Charlene had gotten to work closely with the Royal Talens Art Supply company which resulted in her becoming one of their ambassadors. Charlene works as a freelance, independent artist on several projects, such as murals, private commissions, and book illustrations with clients. Five children's books she has illustrated and a literary novel, have been published in 2018 and 2019; three winning Purple Dragon awards first and second places within their categories. She works closely with various authors and longest so far with Deedee Cummings, the founder of Make A Way Media. As an independent artist, Charlene works with clientele worldwide, shipping out commissioned paintings as big as 12x8 feet. Her large roster of public and private murals include locations such as: San Diego State University, Barrio Logan, La Jolla Shores, Horton Plaza, Venice Beach, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, Lake Forest and Shenzhen, China. Her personal artwork is created in her San Diego studio, STUDIO 15, at Art on 30th. Charlene is currently represented by Sparks Gallery in Downtown San Diego, California. The artist is working on her upcoming solo-exhibition "Pollinators" at Sparks Gallery, set to debut May 15th, 5-8pm. The exhibition runs May 15- July 3, 2022. “My work depicts my curiosity of how people connect to nature in a busy technology and mass- media driven world. I paint people I see in everyday life as well as myself and how I see myself interact with and observe my natural surroundings. I love to paint in a combination of expressive line and brushstroke and vibrant colors, with the effect of intriguing the viewer and letting the eye embark on a visually fulfilling journey.” -Mosley

"My journey in life is to find peace. Peace is what keeps people sane. Loyalty and love are the precious objects of peace." -- Shadow, from the book Writing for Donuts, Volume 2 I produced a Writing for Donuts expose (tinyurl.com/w4dKZFR) for KZFR 90.1FM which aired Wednesday, January 12th on the Writing on Air program. Once curated into the worthiness it deserved, I listened to it over and over. You see, some of the youth who wrote for donuts are my friends. Precious friends who I share time and stories -- with the earnest care nestled within as a runaway in 1976. As much as their experience converges and diverges with mine, the essence is the same. Making ones way as a teenager. Some of the wisest words I have read are, "be the person you needed when you were a child." Being the person I myself needed is the most precious actuation of loyalty and love I have given to bear. One of those friends is Olivia who high-fived me when I told her I was a runaway at 16. "Me too," she said. Years later she named here first vehicle Guillermo, after me. Another is Kyle, who once told me he couldn't believe he had a friend like me. I stopped walking and looked him in the eye, "I feel the same about you." Guillermo Mash on behalf of KZFR and Writing on Air, thanks all the voices who contributed to this radio segment and to the 104 writers featured in the book. There are some subclasses which no one plays because, well, they kind of suck. We often ask what it would take to make them suck less -- but also not to get too overpowered that they make the DM want to pull out their hair. This week both Jay and Jack bring some ideas together on what the Banneret subclass (aka Purple Dragon Knight) is all about (leadership), and how to bring out the best of that theme. We look to try to fix features if we can, or possibly replace them with something similar but functionally better -- like how do we improve on a feature connected to Second Wind or Action Surge, when both of those are so limitied in uses. We also try adding a few new features (bonus action: help) to make this subclass one of the most supportive fighters in the game, something that's a bit lacking within the class. Welcome to Like Dragon Like Son, a podcast hosted by Jay and Jack Oatway where they discuss everything D&D, from character builds to personal experiences. Stay tuned for new episodes on Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. If you love Like Dragon Like Son and want to help us out, you can support us by sharing this podcast with your friends. It's the support of listeners like you which motivate us to put out more episodes, so thank you!
WARNING So, every now and then my give a sh*tter runs completely out and lucky for you, this is one of those days. Yes, I'm still saved and yes, I know my language offends some of you, but I'll tell you this, unless we get serious about what's REALLY going on and the work that needs to be done, you may as well bend over and kiss this nation and all her liberties goodbye. Oh yes, God is in control. He told us to OCCUPY and for some of you that stops with your opposing thumbs. For Congress and their affinity for WWF style matches with social media midgets, they would be better served hiring booty short wearing hot chicks with score cards after every round we suffer through as a nation held in bondage to an out of control publishing arm of the hydra set up to take us down, one post, one Tweet at a time. So, you'll forgive me if I don't join you in the latest collective gasp over the President being banned from the altar of intellectual and patriotic sacrifice. I say, bankrupt the bastards. They've earned it. Meanwhile, between the alien invasions and Q coughing up JFK Jr. our soldiers are being bullied into vaccinations along with unaccompanied children at the border who are being auctioned off to people professing Christ. My William Wallace paint is on today. If you don't like it, don't listen. If you do, suit up, we've got work to do.

This week on Total Movie Recall, Steve and Ryan discover that there's actually an antidote to getting punched really, really hard. The cultural divide proves too much for Ryan in this wild, fantastic, hallucinatory Kung Fu epic of many names. The story is incomprehensible, the fights are nonsensical, but Steve still finds it defensible, while Ryan finds the editing reprehensible. There's no reason for this rhyme. Kung Fu Cult Master (1993) d. Jing Wong, Sammo Kam-Bo Hung Starring: Jet Li Man Cheung Chingmy Yau Set during the Yuen Dynasty, many sects compete for possession of the two golden swords which contain the secret to dominance of the world of martial arts. The first faction, led by Shaolin, consists of Shaolin, Wu Tang, Ngo Mai, Kun Lun, Hung Tung and Wah Shan. The second is the Ming Sect, otherwise known as the Fire Sect or Evil Sect, led by branch leaders Queen of Purple Dragon, King of White Eagle, King of Gold Lion and King of Green Bat. A student of Wu Tang, befriends Gold Lion and marries the daughter of White Eagle. He is killed for the secret of the location of the missing sword.
On this episode we are taking bong hits and talking about the Purple Dragon strain. This is a teaser, i will be posting more about it including recipes and techniques. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

On Thursday September 4th, 2014 the Hermetic Hour with host Poke Runyon will present a discussion on Shamgar, son of the Canaanite War Goddess Anath "who killed 600 Philistines with an ox goad and saved Israel "(over a hundred years before Samson) and became a Judge (ruler of all the tribes) of Israel. Shamgar's story is briefly told in the Biblical Book of Judges. Beyond that lies the realm of myth and legend in which it is suggested that Shamgar was a Phoenician pirate called "Tekheleth Tholi." The Purple Dragon based in Tyre and sent by King Abi Milki to aid the Israeites against the Philistines. He joins the host of the Hebrew Judge Ehud, and marries his daughter Jael, who eventually tries to kill him. His ox goad is said to have been a magical weapon forged by the blacksmith Tubal Cain. The legend is perpetuated in the Gnostic Christian tradition of Marcus from whom we get the Greek Qabalah. Shamgar's exploits should be considered symbolic rather than historic, like the story of Hiram Abiff in Masonry or the Labors of Hercules in Phoenician and Greek astrological lore. If you want to return to the days when Gods and Giants walked the earth, tune in and we'll evoke the shade of Shamgar.

Then as per usual we get off topic and talk about our least favorite movies that spawned originally from books and our favorites and then what books we want to see turned into movies or shows....and what movies we want to see turned into books. Lily gets attacked by cockroaches, Shai gets mad at a robot, and Becky gets busted complaining about Mom's chicken burgers. We explore whether My So Called Life was part of a shared universe, and catch up on Money Heist, Broadchurch, Final Space, the Detroiters. And we give Becky airplane movie advice.
