Brenden Schaeffer goes live on the stream to discuss the Cardinals' 3-2 loss to the Brewers Tuesday as Jordan Montgomery had a couple of pitches get away from him to cost the Cards as the team's RISP woes returned offensively. We also had big news to break down on the show as it has been reported that Matthew Liberatore will be called up to start for the Cardinals Wednesday as the team moves to a six-man rotation. If you're wondering why the Cardinals are doing that, we have the answers on B-Schaeff Daily. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bschaeffer12/message

Sho Alli breaks down the Blue Jays' 2-1 loss to the Mariners out in Seattle. He takes your texts, and discusses the lack of run support once again, as the bats go cold during a terrific pitching performance from Alek Manoah that saw him work into the eighth inning. He gets into the top of the fifth inning, one that saw Robbie Ray escape a bases loaded no out jam completely unscathed, and discusses a potential trade for one of the big bats in the middle of the order. Plus, a conversation on whether or not the team needs a serious veteran voice in the clubhouse, and if Bo Bichette can eventually become that guy. The Nats took the series in San Francisco as they won the rubber match 11-5 on Sunday afternoon. Mark (live from Oracle Park) and Al recap a very encouraging day for the organization's future as Josiah Gray only allowed one hit in six frames. Is your confidence growing that he can become a frontline starter? We have an extended discussion about the young right hander. (13:35) Yadiel Hernandez had a huge day with 5 RBIs, including a 3 run double in the 8th to break the game open. Should Davey Martinez do whatever can to get Yadiel's bat in the lineup everyday? What would that mean for Nelson Cruz? (22:14) Victor Robles had a monster weekend in California as he collected 8 hits, with 2 coming in the series finale. Is this a sign of a turnaround for him at the plate? (30:20) The Nationals sent down two relievers as rosters need to be trimmed in early May. Just like how the 1990s produced hundreds of alternative bands signed to major labels that barely made a dent in radio, MTV, or Billboard, the 80s had their fair share of obscure and forgotten acts of might-have-beens. Those rock bands that straddled the line between the two decades often suffered the worst, coming in at the tail end of hair/glam rock dominance into the emergent alternative and college rock scene ready to explode. Phantom Blue is a perfect example of this interesting time, a band whose 1989 debut is more in line with 80s metal, while their 1993 follow-up (and last) record Built to Perform shows growth in multiple directions, incorporating the drop-d riffing of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains flawlessly with Guns 'n Roses licks and energy. Taking you through the sports universe with fast-paced, non-stop, unapologetic opinions and analysis like no other as Episode 189 is primed and ready to be heard. On deck: (5:07) A rather ho-hum Masters golf tournament became historic as Hideki Matsuyama is the first Japanese man to win a major! I'll get into specifics on the weekend overall. Huge names not making the cut (i.e. Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy to name a couple). Players coming out of the woodwork (i.e. Will Zalatoris and Marc Leishman) and others trying to make a run at the top of the leaderboard (i.e. Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth). Even Bryson DeChambeau wasn't a threat throughout the weekend as I recap all that went down in Augusta. (22:21) The MLB season is about 11 days old (seven if you're a Met fan like myself) and there's already a few things to gripe about. From the lack of run support AGAIN for ace Jacob deGrom, to the controversial opening day win with Michael Conforto sticking his elbow out for a walk off hit by pitch RBI, to why did they Mets play when it was raining while foiling Marcus Stroman's start. UGH! You know I have lots to say on this. Also, the Yankees pitching woes, the missed call at home plate which cost the Braves a possible win against the Phillies and an NCAA Division I women's softball player makes history. (38:32) The NBA is starting to heat up a little bit on the court as the Suns take care of the Jazz at home last week. Only to follow up with a tough loss against the Clippers the next night. The story there that's building is a budding rivalry as tensions flare and some comments were made by Clipper forward, Paul George. I'll get into that, as well as, an update on the return of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, Kyrie Irving is out of the lineup for personal reasons AGAIN and A-Rod to become a minority owner of the T-Wolves? (51:37) The trade deadline has come and gone in the NHL and the Eastern Conference has done most of the damage. The Islanders make a big trade to acquire two former New Jersey Devils, but the biggest trade may be the final piece in the puzzle for the team with the longest Stanley Cup drought north of the border. I'll delve into the deals that may impact the division races as we head into the homestretch of the regular season. (1:01:12) The Jets send Sam Darnold packing to Carolina. Why did they get so little in return? Why were they enamored with potential pick in BYU QB, Zack Wilson? Plus, the real reason why they jettisoned the former Jet QB. And the ongoing saga of Deshaun Watson as accusation pile up against him. Will he play this year? Is a suspension from the league looming? A thought as to why Watson wanted out of Houston? I'll have all of that… (1:10:15) …and my Hero and Zero of the Week! Luke Voit has been the Yankees' best hitter this year. Voit hit two home runs in the Yankees' doubleheader sweep of the Orioles. Voit now sits atop the MLB home run leader-board with Mike Trout. Kenta Maeda has been a silent ace for the Twins this year. The Mets actually gave Jacob deGrom some run support. The Mets scored a whopping 18 runs in support of deGrom. All this (and more) on today's episode.
Yet another good starting pitching performance wasted as the Reds are shutout in Chicago. Jeff recaps the game and also looks at some things Dick Williams said. Williams mentioned Tyler Stephenson seeing some playing time, Nick Senzel returning soon, and didn't seem to convey any thought of moving on from David Bell. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! In 2013, 3rd Ranger Battalion combat veteran Cory Smith highlighted the difficult transition so many veterans face by making a very difficult, public and personal transition. Cory ran from Columbus, GA to Indianapolis, IN – 565 miles - to his daughter. His example is now a national movement called Run Ranger Run where individuals and teams from around the country raise funds and awareness to assist in the transition from active military to civilian life. You can join Cory to make a difference right where you are, and bring awareness to the difficult transition many of our honored military veterans face. A team of up to ten individuals will pledge to walk, run and/or ride bicycles a combined total of 565 miles in the month of February (usually 28 days). Teams may be formed from anywhere in the world and your miles can be logged from the comfort of your own home. As a collective, all participants will raise funds for GallantFew and increase awareness for veteran issues surrounding the transition from active military service to civilian life. Special Guest: Cory Smith.

Another lost opportunity for a sweep. Instead we end with a 3-3 road trip as we head home for our final home-stand prior to the All-Star break. 3-3 feels like kissing your sister (not my sister -- your sister). You had better not kiss my sister or you will have two big guys upset with you. Arizona's Orlando Hudson homers for the second consecutive game and Orlando Cabrerra extends his streak to 53 games. Perhaps the Rockies will bring better days.
