“We've come a long way since our opening in 2000,” says Bill Wilson, founder and co-owner of Wilson Creek Winery. “And, while much has changed here at the winery and in the valley, our focus, our mission is exactly the same as when we first started.” That focus has paid off with Wilson Creek Wines winning prestigious awards. Wilson Creek's Petite Sarah won “Best Red in the Valley,” at the annual Temecula Valley Winegrowers' Association Awards. Wilson Creek is one of only a few wineries in Southern California to receive a 90-plus ratings for its wines from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Fairly new to Wilson Creek, our Library room offers a guided sit down wine tasting of these library wines that are not offered to the general public. Wilson Creek prides itself on offering a multi-dimensional wine experience. We welcome those new to wine and take them through a wine journey as they develop and expand their palate. We also focus on wine education. Wilson Creek is the only winery in the Temecula Valley that offers training to guests in all aspects of wine making through our Wine Academies. Our Winemaker and Vineyard Manager are professors at two area colleges. Wilson Creek Winery has also been active in the community since its inception. The winery has won Temecula Valley's “Business of the Year” four times. The winery is involved with numerous charitable events each year raising thousands of dollars for charities One thing that won't change at Wilson Creek it the commitment to family. Almost the entire Wilson family has been involved with the winery since the beginning. On any given day, you will find Matriarch Rosie Wilson with her dog perusing the grounds, or any number of Wilsons at work behind the scenes. “We started the business as a family project, and everyone pitched in from day one,” says Wilson. “Through the years it has become a tradition to treat our guests as our extended family and make family a big part of the Wilson Creek experience.” Like the fine wines it serves, Wilson Creek Winery keeps getting better with age.
The passion that exists within every bottle of Doffo wine originates from their Italian ancestors who immigrated to Argentina in the early 1900s. Marcelo's grandfather, Bernandino, settled in Pampas, Argentina where he grew soybeans and corn and raised cattle. Marcelo grew up on that land, and it was there that his love and dedication to the art of cultivation began. As a young man, Marcelo immigrated to the United States and began a new life journey. In 1994 he visited the old country in the northern region of Turin, Italy and discovered that like every good Italian, his great uncle still made wine the old fashioned way in his basement. Marcelo returned home anxious to try his hand at winemaking, creating his first batches in his garage. By 1997 he had expanded his knowledge and developed his skills as a winemaker, and was awarded the silver medal from the Orange County Wine Society. This experience and honor sealed his fate. That same year he purchased an old cattle ranch in Temecula, California, complete with an historic one-room schoolhouse. The schoolhouse reminded him of a similar place he attended as a small child in Argentina. Starting with bare property, Marcelo painstakingly prepared the soil and installed trellises and irrigation lines by hand. He then planted his first vines of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah with a small percentage of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Four years later, Marcelo was proud to introduce his first wine, calling it “Mistura.” Marcelo's philosophy has always been that good wine making begins in the vineyard. From hand-planting each vine to the meticulous daily attention, Marcelo, his son Damian, and their crew take great care to produce intensely rich fruit that truly expresses their commitment to making world class wine. Doffo Winery produces small batches of wine in comparison to many other wineries in Temecula Valley, and the attention to detail that this affords results in bold, complex wines.
Welcome to Season 3: Episode 12 where Luis interviews church-planting friends, Dave and Elena Reynolds. Dave and Elena Reynolds have served in church planting for over three decades. They have launched three churches and sent out many planting teams. They have launched two planting centers and a national Greenhouse Church movement. They currently work with Alliance Church Multiplication in the west and in the South Pacific District. Dave is also a musician and plays gigs both solo and also with his son in the beautiful wine country of the Temecula Valley. Dave and Elena have three grown children and live in Southern California. Nestled in the picturesque rolling hills of the De Portola Wine Trail – the famed ‘Wine Row” of Southern California's spectacular Temecula Valley wine country – Fazeli Cellars soars as a state-of-the-art winery offering a combination of stunning architecture, breathtaking scenic beauty and the finest selection of boutique wines the region has to offer.Bizhan “BJ” Fazeli fulfilled a life-long passion in the acquisition and development of his Temecula vineyards/winery. Since its first vintage in 2006, Fazeli Cellars today boasts more than 20 varietals of boutique wines from Cabernet Sauvignon to Sauvignon Blanc, Petite Sirah to Mourvedre, and Viognier to Chardonnay that have earned numerous prestigious festival competition awards – and the loyalty of enthusiasts across the region.BJ built Fazeli Cellars to reflect pride for his own rich cultural heritage. The result is a unique combination of Modern Moorish architecture and ambiance that honors ancient Persian traditions, while paying tribute to the contemporary character of California as is reflected on the back label of all his wines “Ancient traditions of Persia rooted in the modern expression of California.”Wine tasting and dining are enjoyed in a luxurious setting where panoramic windows overlook Temecula's spectacular vistas. Grand-scale events are presented with exquisite flair in Fazeli Cellars' extraordinary banquet facilities. And wedding ceremonies – a Fazeli Cellars and Winery mainstay – are lovingly conducted in magnificent park-like surroundings against a backdrop of Temecula Valley's dazzling splendor. The winery also houses Baba Joon's kitchen – Fazeli Cellars' A-rated Persian-Mediterranean inspired lunch destination.Exquisite, award-winning world-class boutique wines…superb dining in an airy atmosphere…luxurious settings for an unforgettable wine-tasting experience… unparalleled wedding grounds and wedding event facilities…and a state-of-the-art banquet hall for large-scale private or corporate events to public concerts – Fazeli Cellars is a valley jewel located in one of Southern California's most majestic travel getaway destinations. What began as a family day trip in 2001 has burgeoned into one of the Temecula Wine Region's most prestigious and celebrated wineries. When BJ and his family originally toured the Temecula Valley, it was just for a relaxing day trip to explore the local wine country and at the time no one in the Fazeli family could have imagined that this simple getaway would serve as the beginning of a life-changing adventure. The Fazeli's fell in love with the Valley and purchased land to grow some grapes and maybe make a little wine however, BJ Fazeli has never understood the meaning of the word “little”. Connecting with his Persian ancestry, BJ Fazeli chose the Shiraz grape as the benchmark grape for his winery. From there, Fazeli Cellars' commitment to excellence has transformed his winery into home for high quality wines that pay homage to the rich cultural heritage of Ancient Persia – with roots firmly planted in modern Southern California.Originating from his native Persia (now Iran), BJ Fazeli's entrepreneurial acumen propelled his career as a pioneering executive in direct response marketing where he founded one of the industry's most successful businesses, as well as launched art galleries and a successful restaurant in London. Through it all, Fazeli Cellars is BJ's crowning achievement, a glowing tribute to his rich heritage and love for his Southern Californian home. What started out as a hobby became a passion – and passion became Fazeli Cellars.

This week our special guest is contemporary romance author Suzanne Winslow. Suzanne has just released her debut book, Burned (Smoke and Fire Series Book 1). The book is very well written, and a sweet story about second chances and blended families. Suzanne is a fairly new reader of J.D. Robb's "In Death" series, but has some great insights to share! We discuss how Eve and Roarke started their own families, first Roarke with Summerset, then Eve with Feeney and Mavis. Eve and Mavis' relationship puzzles AJ...but it makes perfect sense to Suzanne. We all love Peabody, but who doesn't? Jen feels like McNab is one of the most underrated characters of the series. Both Jen and Suzanne love Baxter, and may have to fight over him, while AJ much prefers Jake Kincaide, (but that's a bit of a spoiler). Eve has a good mother figure in Mira, and we all love how Eve has a bit of a crush on Mr. Mira. For Roarke, the sad part is that he doesn't seem to have many friends. he has Richard and Elizabeth, but they are not around much. So we're so happy that Nora gave Roarke a whole big biological family in Ireland. We also all love Brian Kelly. We also talk about how their family circle is growing with Mavis and Leonardo's daughter, Bella, and discuss the ever present question of "when are Eve and Roarke going to have a baby?" Suzanne brings up Summerset as Roarke's father figure...the character we love to hate. Undeniably, Summerset and Roarke have a special and unbreakable bond. We do think that despite everything, Summerset and Eve really do like each other. After all, Eve did advocate for Summerset when he had a broken leg and wanted the cat. Jen as a lifelong Michigander, is thrilled to find out that Suzanne's whole "Smoke and Fire" series is set in Grand Rapids, which is where Jen lives! AJ is in Southern California, and she and Suzanne talk about the gorgeous Temecula Valley wine country! Look for Suzanne's next book, "Bailout," to be released in January 2021 on Amazon.
