[Ep 114] This week we are sharing about a wine tour we did while in Split Croatia. To quote Lyle, I think this is the best wine tour we have ever done (and we have done a lot). That pretty much sums it up. It is the only wine tour where we have both shed a few tears, as the wine maker shared his story. But it isn't all sad – in fact it is the opposite. It was a spectacular vineyard and wine tasting tour where the wine was fabulous, the views amazing and the company great fun. Make sure you listen to the end to hear about what some of the other people on the wine tour had us all singing – here's a hint - they were from Sweden – so you can probably guess. If you would like to see all the pictures of the incredible views from the Seaview tasting rooms or from the rest of our wine tour, then click the link here www.beachtravelwine.com/podcast/114/splitwine

[110] Today we are taking you on a wonderful private, boutique wine tour that we did out of Zagreb. We visited the Plesivica wine region and in particular one of the most famous wineries in Croatia, Jagunic winery. The views down over the rolling hills covered in vineyards, with small churches and stone houses perched on the hillsides were incredible. The mountains were lush and green and made the perfect backdrop for our day trip. We tell you about the wine regions, what wines you should try and also about a little town we visited that is the entrepreneurial capital of Croatia and is famous for its cakes but also making the fastest electric cars in the world. Stay listening to the end when we tell you about our guides, how they made the rest of our Croation trip even better, but also how you can plan the perfect Croatian adventure that caters for just you and the things you want to see and do. We wish we had known about this service before we left Australia. Please enjoy episode 110 and if you want to see the Croatian travel website we talk about or all the pictures we took of our luxury wine tour, then click here www.beachtravelwine.com/podcast/110/zagrebwine
Sip, share, shape our podcast! It's hot in Texas so what better way to beat the heat than to take a trip to visit wineries in Marlborough. New Zealand that is. The Marlborough wine region is booming and going beyond Sauvignon Blanc. Cellar doors offer tastings and tours of some of the best wines from NZ. The family estate of Te Whare Ra is our stop on today's episode just a minute drive outside of Blenheim. If you think New Zealand wine is a one-trick pony, tune in as Anna Flowerday takes us on a tour of aromatic whites from Pinot Gris to Gewurztraminer. In the cellar door overlooking Te Whare Ra's vineyards, Anna guides us through their thoughtfully curated collection of wine. We start with Rosé and finish with Pinot Noir, but the aromatic whites in between may just be the stars of the show. In addition to Te Whare Ra, we visited legendary wineries from Cloudy Bay to Mahi in the Blenheim area of the Wairau Valley. Marlborough wineries should be on your wine tours and travel wish list. And don't forget the other wine regions of New Zealand from Central Otago and Canterbury in the south to Hawke's Bay and Auckland in the north. Each winery is unique and has its own story to tell about New Zealand wine. And the food you'll find takes everything next level!Happy 4th of July and don't forget to let us know how much you're enjoying every episode by COMMENTING on your fave podcast platform! Fans of the reggae and pop scenes will be very familiar with the works of UB40. The English band was formed in the late 1970's, going through a few iterations as their music finds international success. Robin Campbell is a founding member of the band, having stuck with it for 45 years, throughout the drama, court cases, and a revolt. They're popping over to New Zealand with the release of their 21st album ‘UB45' stopping by Auckland and Christchurch in October on their ‘Red Red Wine Tour'. Campell told Newstalk ZB's Mike Hosking that they have a few extra members in the band and a couple of new guys. “We're firing on all cylinders, having a ball.” 45 years is quite a significant amount of time for a band to be running, and Campbell said it's always kind of a ‘pinch me' moment. “You know, how the, how the heck are we still doing this after 45 years? Why are we so popular? How did we get so lucky?” The secret for them is doing what they love and hoping their fans and friends come along with them. “It's just the way it's always been for us, it's always worked.” “It's a wonderful position to be in.” UB45 releases Friday, 19th of April. The Red Red Wine Tour will be coming to Christchurch on October 8th and Auckland on October 10th. LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Want to know about the best wineries to visit in Central Otago and the best ways to get there? Well then keep listening as we take you on a wine hopper experience through this picturesque wine region of New Zealand. There are many ways to explore the region, including the wine hopper tour, private tours and of course bike and e-bike tours. We share the details on all of these different ways to get around the region. Come with us as we visit one tavern, and seven very different vineyards and cellar doors which all have a unique way of sharing their wines with visitors. One of the cellar doors asks you to take a Flight of Fancy Quiz to see which one of five different wine tastings is perfect for you. That was so much fun. Other vineyards we visited were in rustic horse stables, one is featured in a famous TV show, another is a converted church. We had a wine tasting in the largest wine cave in New Zealand, enjoyed a prize-winning glamorous cellar door with the cutest little outdoor wine tasting cubby houses. We even tasted wine from the most southern cellar door in the world with a connection to Captain Cook and we marveled at the stunning views at each venue. The places we visited may have very different cellar doors and vineyards, but the one thing they have in common is their fabulous wine. Stay listening to the end where we tell you how you can visit two of the most well-known and prize winning wineries in Central Otago without driving, being on a tour or riding a bike and it only costs $2. So grab a glass, sit back and enjoy Episode 79 all about the stunning Central Otago Wine Region of New Zealand. Georgia is one of the world's oldest winemaking countries. Traditions—such as amber wine and wine made for home consumption—continue, which make Georgian wine a wonderful trip to the past. But it's also an evolving wine country, with regions producing different expressions from the many local grape varieties. In this episode, I interview Tom Williams of Eat This! Food & Wine Tours, who specialises in explorations of Georgian wine and provides a fascinating insight into Georgian culture. Season 7 – Gap Year: Mediterranean Europe Episode 10 If you're planning a trip to Italy, chances are, you are seriously considering some time in Florence. And for good reason. The city center consists of an incredible Duomo di Firenze, the David statue by Michelangelo, Piazza Della Signoria and Italy's most visited museum, The Uffizi Gallery. Not into the museum vibes? Enjoy your relaxing near the Ponte Vecchio bridge, eat some Florentine steak, shop for an Italian leather souvenir or grab some grub at Mercato Centrale Firenze. We did all those things and more – including a Chianti wine tour in the hills of Tuscany. We made our way in a 4x4 truck to three wineries: Villa le Corti, Localita Rignana and Poggio Torselli. Watch our video of the trip, to see what it's like: https://youtu.be/iSKN0ulp6Cg. This week's episode is part 2 of my California Wine Region Series! Today I am covering Los Angeles County, my home and birthplace. Who knew Los Angeles County was considered a major wine region? But did you know it is made up of 6 AVAs? That's how big LA county is. LA is also big on natural and organic ingredients, which means that they are popular for organic wines and kick-starting an orange wine fad. But honestly, I wanted to focus on the actual winery experience and where winemakers grow their wines in a location as big as LA. I will be focusing on the west and east sides of LA county: Malibu and Antelope Valley. I cover a brief history of how they became AVAs, their climate that makes it perfect to grow grapes, and I end off the episode with specific underrated wineries recommendations for your next LA funday. This episode is perfect if you live in LA County and are curious to try wines from places other than wine bars to get the true vineyard experience without driving out too far (because let's be real, LA is full of wine bars and wine shops without the authentic winery vibe).
