Then, it all came crashing down when an editor at Gawker, the umbrella site Jezebel was published under, released a story about a recently discovered Hulk Hogan sex tape - including footage.Enter Peter Theil, who had been looking for a reason to settle a score with Gawker when the Hulk scandal fell squarely in his lap. Theil ended up funding Hollywood Hulk's long, costly legal battle and when it was all said and done, Gawker couldn't keep up with the Theil money being thrown at them. Auch wenn das Ding, das wir suchen, eigentlich ganz einfach ist, tat man sich schon immer schwer es zu beschreiben. Im Jahr 1799 hat ein Mann namens Johann Georg Krünitz es ganz genau versucht. Ob ihm das gelungen ist, könnt ihr selbst entscheiden. So klingt die über 200 Jahre alte Beschreibung des gesuchten Gegenstands: “Ein länglich gebogener Ring, welcher an einem Ende breiter, als an dem andern ist, und auf der einen langen Seite eine Oeffnung hat, an welcher inwendig eine elastische Feder befestigt ist, die bey dem Drucke des beweglichen Theiles nachgibt, aber auch sogleich, wenn der Ring eingesteckt ist, den Theil, welcher beweglich ist, und vorn am Ende eine Spitze hat, welche in die andere Hälfte des Ringes paßt, zurück schlägt und schließt.” Und? Alles klar? Eher nicht, oder doch? Das schlaue Online-Lexikon Wikipedia beschreibt die Erfindung, die wir suchen übrigens als “ein Haken mit federunterstütztem Schnapperverschluss”. Und der reimt sich ganz wunderbar auf Mediziner, Berliner oder Rabbiner. Und? Weißt du's schon? Was suchen wir? Ich sag' es dir! Es ist: der Karabinerhaken, kurz Karabiner genannt.

Many will remember him from the best-selling book he wrote in 2016 called, “Hillbilly Elegy.” JD Vance was a media darling at that time.
